The TPPA – “sets a dangerous precedent for democracy” – signed but not over yet

Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement

“For decades Oxfam has campaigned for trade rules and intellectual property standards that give poor countries a fair deal, such as protecting their right to access affordable medicines for public health. Despite mass public mobilisation against it, the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) was signed in October 2015. We believe the deal sets a dangerous precedent for democracy, transparency and future trade agreements.
“Oxfam joined a High Court case asking the New Zealand Government to release the secret text before it was signed. We also highlighted the potential harm the TPPA could bring in terms of poor people being able to access life-saving medicines, governments being accountable to the will of their people, and multinational corporations challenging government laws to protect public health and the environment.

In December 2013, 26,000 signatures were handed in, calling for release of the draft text. Then in August 2015 a petition of 100,000 signatures was delivered to Parliament.”

TPPA Signing Should Be Treason

“The incredible irony is that in Greece, where former finance minister Yanis Varoufakis was putting together a monetary system to enable Greece’s collapsing economy to continue to function in the event that the European Troika threw them out of the Eurozone, he is facing charges of treason”.

“In New Zealand, where the prime minister and trade minister are willing to sign an agreement enabling overseas corporates to sue taxpayers for loss of profits, they are likely to be awarded an honour by a future government”.

If you’re not up to speed with the TPPA and what it means visit itsourfuture.org and sign up for updates. Watch this short clip also from Youtube:

We will be further in the mire as all with any insight know and have been loudly telling us for years literally. This is a Trojan Horse for the corporations and as always with the aforementioned, they veil their plans in great sounding rhetoric. ‘Good for us all’ is their cry and ‘nothing to worry about’ which, does not add up given the whole negotiation process has been BEHIND CLOSED DOORS! They wanted us not to worry about something they refused to share the details of, with those whom it will most concern. Go figure fellow Kiwis! This is just not rocket science. Corporations are about power and control of all resources so that … they can maximize their profits … bottom line. If you’re not familiar with the machinations of corporations visit the Corporations page on the site and educate yourself by watching the documentary there entitled ‘The Corporation’.  Oh, and remember, your country is a corporation.

Covering Up The Causes of Breast Cancer Since 1985: AstraZeneca’s BCAM

Written By:

Sayer Ji, Founder  GreenMedInfo

“Did you know that AstraZeneca, manufacturer of two blockbuster breast cancer drugs (one of which is classified as a known human carcinogen), is behind Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

Why is it, do you think, that during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) you never hear the word “carcinogen” mentioned, but are barraged a million times over by the word “cure”?

Truth be told, BCAM should be renamed Breast Cancer Un-Awareness Month, as it has nothing to do with generating awareness about the true causes and solutions for the breast cancer epidemic and everything to do with making the public focus on a presumably not-yet-existent “cure” to be produced through the pharmaceutical pipeline somewhere off in the future only after enough money is raised…”

chemotherapy-448578_1280Unbelievably for most (myself included when this all first dawned on me as reality) there are many many cures for cancer. The industry (Big Pharma) does not want you to learn about them… to the extent they suppress, vilify and debunk them. All they will offer you is chemotherapy which the health professionals who are abandoning the standard medical model will tell you, shortens your lifespan. Watch the series of documentaries on thetruthaboutcancer website and learn that oncologists say you live longer doing nothing rather than choosing chemo.

However, you need to read, read and listen. Listen to the medical doctors who share their expert knowledge on this. Our website page on cancer has links to videos and sites for you to begin your own research. (There are NZ success stories of how folks beat cancer after chemo failed). You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to be prepared. Statistics are one in three now for cancer, and in some places, one in two.

Here is a short clip for you to start with by Dr Leonard Coldwell:

See our Cancer pages for more info & links, &/or search categories for further cancer articles (at left of any page).

NZ needs a Consul-General (and a $6.2 mill mansion) in Hawaii because ‘the US has big defense headquarters in Honolulu’ … really?

Our pretend government aka corporation is borrowing $27 mill a day to keep us afloat, and has spent $6.2 mill on a house that is double the value of surrounding houses. It’s not a house it’s a mansion fit for a king. Our corporation is also flogging off our state housing, whilst many Kiwis are homeless and doesn’t give a toss about kids in poverty. Here then is a blatant example of ‘let them eat cake’. Something has gone terribly wrong with this country that once stamped out poverty and homelessness. Our CEO is a banker folks, he’s not a leader. He simply poses as one.

In case you missed it, the corporatization of our nation & its former government departments has led to a bottom line of maximizing profits. People no longer matter.

Untitled
$6.2 mill mansion for NZ Diplomat

“Would you like to own a $6.2 million house in Hawaii? Good news – you already do. But bad news – the Government has bought the place for a diplomat.

It has inspired Story to start up a brand new segment called Silly Spending.

One of the many real estate ads for the home describes it as “ultimate modern luxury”.

“The crystal chandeliers are a great touch. The whole effect is one of a jewel box.”

It is 570 square metres of exceptional floor plan. It’s about four times bigger than your house, if you live in an average New Zealand home.

It’s got a pool and spa deck and it’s one block from the beach. The house is almost twice the average price of houses around it.

We bought the pad last year for diplomat Rob Kaiwai. He’s New Zealand’s first-ever Consul-General in Hawaii. We set up that posting last year to help out the 14 diplomatic postings we already had across the United States.

If you’re thinking he might need his house for high-powered meetings, that’s what the office in downtown Honolulu is for.”

At UN Summit, World Rulers Adopt Agenda for Global Socialism – the Sequel to Agenda 21

Here we have the sequel to Agenda 21, namely Agenda 2030. As always we are fed the thin end of the wedge in a palatable form (the 21 version) … like the frog in warm water analogy … the temperature is raised now the first version is has been taken on board. Look beyond the surface peeps. Agenda 21 has a whole different agenda to the stated version. Check out the take on it presented by those who have worked longer term with it .. who have taken the time to spell these out for you.

Here we have the follow-up. Watch where they are taking us all under the guise of caring so much about poverty that nobody is left out  … since when have the powers that be cared about the poor? Even less so now, witness the way corporations screw the poor in their sweat shops and dump on them all manner of poisons banned in the West. Then we have that even bigger lie, ‘sustainability’… from the crowd who turn blind eyes continually to the long term trashing of our planet by mega corporations that are a law unto themselves. The oil spills, the decimation of our wildlife, the trashing of our ocean … sustainability (as Rosa Koire has so aptly described it, the green mask) is a carefully constructed lie.

Remember, the UN is where our former PM Helen Clarke is working on … you guessed it … ‘global governance’. We have a plan here for a one world government where all is peace and harmony and nobody goes without.  Yeah right! Watch this space.

For a brief preamble on Agenda 21 go to our page of that name, and/or watch this short video by Australian ex politician Anne Bressington

Here is the article about Agenda 2030 by   (thenewamerican.com)

“A far-reaching United Nations plot to re-engineer civilization and impose global socialism on humanity, variously dubbed “Agenda 2030” and the “Sustainable Development Agenda,” was ushered in on Friday with a “thunderous standing ovation,” the UN Department of Public Information reported. Every one of the 193 UN member governments on the planet — from communist and Islamist dictatorships to those ruling what remains of the “Free World” — vowed to help impose the UN’s controversial goals on their subjects. Indeed, according to the UN and the global agreement itself, not a single human being will be allowed to escape what one prominent internationalist ominously referred to as the next “Great Leap Forward.”

‘Rate rigging rip off’ …. claims that some Kiwi banks have manipulated key interest rates

From Stuff.co.nz by Richard Meadows : “A banking insider says some New Zealand banks made up to $1.5 million a day manipulating inter-bank interest rates.

The anonymous source says there was widespread rigging of the benchmark inter-bank BKBM rate, mirroring Europe’s Libor (London Inter-bank Offered Rate) scandal that rocked markets worldwide.

He says he wanted to blow the whistle on what he claimed may be the biggest and longest-running financial scam in New Zealand history.

Sources claim manipulation in New Zealand dated from the 1990s…

A spokesman for a New Zealand banking industry body said no misconduct issues had ever been identified, but declined to explain why the system has now been reformed…

The whistleblower claimed the behaviour was endemic in several banks during the 2000s, and had only been reined-in during recent years…

Who’s responsible?

Banks have self-regulated through NZFMA, an industry body that oversees BKBM.

Reforms were carried out in 2007, but the group has declined Fairfax Media requests to explain why.

No regulators have ever investigated, although the FMA says it did a “temperature check” on recent data…”

Molecular Oncologist, Dr Paterson, PhD on Smart Meters, Wifi (EMF) health & safety

Scientist warns of wireless threat from smart meters, cellphones

A renowned Canadian scientist and expert in molecular oncology says hundreds of millions of residents around the world are being “blanketed in an electromagnetic smog” caused by wireless devices such as smart meters and the potential health care consequences will be staggering.

Speaking in front of an audience of more than 100 residents from across the South Okanagan at the Oliver Community Centre this past Saturday morning, Dr. Malcolm Paterson gave a detailed two-hour presentation – following by an extended question and answer period – about the concerns he shares with fellow scientists and the medical community about the impact of wireless technology on human health.

Paterson’s presentation was entitled The Electromagnetic Age: A Sleeping Giant?

The level of radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic frequency  (EMF) technology impacting the lives of hundreds of millions of residents around the world is 3,000 times higher than levels measured back in 1980, said Paterson, who has given four previous similar presentations in the South Okanagan over the past three weeks.

Paterson has a Masters degree in Science from Queen’s University in Kingston and attained his PhD in molecular oncology in the United States.

Health Canada’s current measurement system to determine the impact of wireless technology – including smart meters and cellphones – is called Safety Code 6, said Paterson.

“Based on inaccurate information provided by ITRON, Health Canada and Dr. Perry Kendall, you have been telling people that there is no health risk due to prolonged exposure to radiation from smart meters on homes and wifi in school — this despite your having received 100s of studies by independent researchers and many letters from scientists and doctors to the contrary…

“‘The Electromagnetic Fields Exclusion (Exclusion 32) is a General Insurance Exclusion and is applied across the market as standard. The purpose of the exclusion is to exclude cover for illnesses caused by continuous long-term non-ionising radiation exposure i.e. through mobile phone usage.”….

Marton’s central phone mast close to homes & offices

The fact that Lloyd’s will not insure you the user against the harmful effects of these devices speaks volumes. We already had the evidence but as I continually reiterate here, industry does not want you to know … that knowledge would clearly dissuade you from using their devices. The recent post here on the unfortunate UK man enduring the forced installation of a smart meter in his home (he’s now opted for no  power in preference) is disconcerting to say the least. Where has our right of choice as free citizens gone? Are we not purchasing power? Do we have no choice about how this is delivered?

If you’re new to the smart meter issue please educate yourself. Arm yourself with the correct information. Unfortunately you will not get this from your powerco. Listen to the professionals, watch the documentaries particularly ‘Take Back Your Power’. Then make informed decisions about how to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Listen to this Public Health Physician explain the health risks of wireless radiation:

EnvirowatchRangitikei

15 minutes on your cell phone can alter brain structure and function, new study reveals

(NaturalNews) “A new clinical study has found that just 15 minutes of cell phone talk time radiation exposure can alter the structure and function of the brain, including brain wave activity that is connected to cognition, mood and behavior.

Thirty-one healthy females took part in the study, published in PLOS ONE; all participants were measured twice. On one of the days, the mobile phone was attached to the women’s ears with a sham phone being placed on their chests. On the other day, the mobile phone was attached to the chest and the sham phone to the ear. During each assessment, EEG activity and radio-frequency radiation were recorded….”

The question is asked … why have we not been hearing about the potential effects of cell phone radiation?

“Dr. Devra Davis in her book Disconnect lays the blame fairly and squarely at the telecoms industry, accusing them of war-gaming the science in much the same way that tobacco companies and GMO corporations like Monsanto do.” (from the article)

Not rocket science really when you know how corporations work. Their bottom line is profits not people or any risks to their health. (EnvirowatchRangitikei)

UK Energy Firm Caught Forcibly Installing Smart Meter Against Person’s Consent – Shocking!

A Genesis Smart Meter
A NZ, Genesis Smart Meter

The following article and video is from Stop Smart Meters UK. ‘Forcibly’ would be an understatement here. Watching this is quite disturbing to say the least. So in the UK it is clearly possible to force the installation of a Smart (Dangerous) Meter. If you are in any doubts about the safety of these meters watch ‘Take Back Your Power’ doco … there was no prior testing done with the roll out of these devices. In the meanwhile there is plenty of documented evidence, by health professionals, to demonstrate they carry health risks. All there in the doco. A must watch. The gentleman in the video has opted now to go without power rather than have a Smart Meter in his home.

Here in NZ they are not yet compulsory although your powerco will, by way of omission, imply that they are. Post a non-consent notice on your meter box if it is outside your house as I hear often that powercos just turn up and install with neither your knowledge nor your consent. I also hear often of health effects from these devices. Headaches, sinus problems, heart problems … that went away post removal. Once installed it is very difficult to get these removed. For more NZ info check out the stopsmartmeters NZ site or go to our page here.

From Stop Smart Meters! (UK) Youtube channel:  This shocking video shows the moment Northern Irishman David Barr, who suffers from a medical condition which sometimes renders him housebound, has a Smart Meter forcibly installed in his property against his consent.

The video suggests that Power NI have acted way beyond their authority by forcibly installing a Smart Meter against a person’s wishes, something that the UK Government has repeatedly admitted cannot and will not happen.

As reflected in a statement by former Energy Minister Charles Hendry (Hansard, 29 November 2011), whilst Energy suppliers will need to take “all reasonable steps to install smart meters for all domestic and smaller non-domestic customers by 2019” – they:

“do not expect suppliers to seek an entry warrant simply to fit a smart meter and it will not be an offence for householders to refuse to accept a smart meter”….

The Rangitikei, NZ

These meters are rolling out in NZ currently. Last weekend FB was alive with reports of heavily inflated bills some as high as $2k I noted. A post to follow on that topic this weekend.

Remember Smart Meters (commonly known here in NZ as Advanced Meters, and labeled such) are NOT compulsory. It is generally implied that they are and companies do just turn up and install them if you’re not home. You need to be very proactive and post a notice of non-consent on the meter itself if it’s outside and accessible, in addition to notifying your powerco in writing you do not consent to one being installed. Be aware, once installed it is far more difficult to negotiate removal. You will also be told they are no more dangerous than a mobile phone … this is not true. Watch Josh del Sol’s ‘Take Back Your Power’ documentary to educate yourself on the facts. I have a copy you can borrow if you are in the Rangitikei district. Be forearmed and protect yourself and your loved ones from the known health risks. For more info go here.

Who Owns the World?

People have been separated from the land planet wide, the root of many of our ills. Less than 15 pc have ever owned the land. This is a crime/injustice that’s been covered up. Read Kevin Cahill’s ‘Who Owns the Planet’ or watch videos of his lectures. Very revealing. The Queen owns one sixth on her own. And has been well active in confiscating lands for eons. Indigenous peoples were frequently made to work for the colonizer by introducing taxes only payable in the colonizer’s currency … presto. Off the land, off traditional means of survival, growing food. Now today paupers on their previously owned lands and growing food for agribusiness. This is why the so called ‘third world’ starves. For an expose on that read Susan George’s ‘How the Other Half Dies’.

In summary, our spiritual connection with the land has been severed, along with our ability to properly nourish our bodies with fresh living food …. and the roots of this state of affairs can be found largely in capitalism and greed for profits … where earth’s land, peoples and resources have all been co-opted for that purpose.

How global capitalism actually works

From the Daily Blog … a look at how capitalism works and why the rich are getting richer on the backs of everybody else:

By Douglas Renwick

“There is a standard view of how capitalism is supposed to work given by the media. It goes something like this; capitalism is a system where people come together to freely exchange goods and services, including labour. Businesses compete competitively to give the most efficient outcome, and the profit motive gives incentive for innovation. People who become rich do so because they work hard to offer the market what it wants while the poor do not, so this wealth inequality is to a large extent the natural workings of the market. This is an imperfect but the best possible system.

That is I think the standard view given in the media, and I think most of it can be debunked while the rest can be turned on its head. I’ll be critiquing this view, but also give my own view of how I think Global Capitalism works. I’ll give what I think are realistic and viable solutions to the faults of Global capitalism at the end.

  • Capitalism is always seeking to make profit, and it was able to make profits in the period from 1945-1971 in the productive sector of the economy, and under this system there was high economic growth which was relatively egalitarian
  • the productive sector reached a certain capacity in the 1970’s, increasing productivity became less profitable … profits went into the FIRE economy … finance, insurance, real estate
  • the banking sector became wealthier and got turned into an institution that gambles rather than investing in productive things
  • the economy is now a system that is normally stagnant, and only grows when it is driven by speculative bubbles which eventually crash
  • real wages stagnate, as they have in New Zealand since 1984, while corporate profits go way up ……”

Who’s checking the promises as Kiwi land ownership is lost? – Winston Peters

The promises, which give them the go ahead, include job creation, investment, protection of indigenous plants, donations to local organisations or schools, etc.

Who controls the money controls the world

A 13 minute clip that explains the money system. Many notable people have referred to the banking fraternity’s control over the planet … one was Reginald McKenna, who had served as Chancellor of England’s Exchequer. In 1924 he said:

“I am afraid that the ordinary citizen will not like to be told that the banks can and do create money, and they who control the credit of a nation direct the policy of the governments and hold in the hollow of their hands, the destiny of the people”

“All facts in this movie have been independently confirmed. Sources are documented athttp://thrivemovement.com   History will repeat itself as long as these bankers and their corrupt politicians are in charge…” (Source)

Another week of neoliberal economics – (and who cares about the poor?) – from the Daily Blog

From the Daily Blog in NZ, a thought provoking look at the world of economics where policy fallout on human populations is of no particular importance. Discussing also the incentives (are there any?) for mothers to leave their babies in day care and take up paid employment. Many are apparently worse off for working full time.

Capitalism is not about free competitive choices among people who are reasonably equal in their buying and selling of economic power, it is about concentrating capital, concentrating economic power in very few hands using that power to trash everyone who gets in their way. (David Korten)

…of course, there was no mention by the economists of high rates of poverty, , casualisation, low pay and uncertain hours, rampant speculative activity in real estate and growing inequality, even though the IMF and the OECD are regularly warning of the dangers…

When the inevitable downturn produces higher unemployment, more foodbank demand, foreclosures and poor-330395_1280widespread mental illness, who asks or cares whether the economic system works for low and middle income people and their children?”

Kiwis lose $871 million from power company privatisations, power is up 3.8% & the elderly freeze

Whilst many elderly are stopping in bed all day to keep warm because they are paying outrageous prices for power (courtesy of Smart Meters) the CEOs of the powercos are on salaries of 1-2 million dollars. This is the insanity of corporate greed at its finest.

Today’s business corporation is an artificial creation, shielding owners and managers while preserving corporate privilege and existence. Artificial or not, corporations have won more rights under law than people have – rights which government has protected with armed force
Richard L Grossman and Frank T Adams
Recent articles in Nelson have illustrated what can happen following the installation of Smart Meters with accounts coming in at double the normal price and beyond. (Post to come on that one). The Greens in this article have highlighted the nonsensical world of privatisation … a thinly veiled scheme that clearly benefits the corporate world while claiming to benefit all. Remember, we were told the asset sales would get us out of debt (clearly wrong as our debt continues to climb). We were also told that more powercos meant more competition (free enterprise, the market and all that)  which would mean lower prices … wrong again.
“…free enterprise, [is] a term that refers, in practice, to a system of public subsidy and private profit, with massive government intervention in the economy to maintain a welfare state for the rich.”   Noam Chomsky

“New analysis of the financial statements of Genesis, Mighty River Power, and Meridian released by the Green Party today shows that National’s partial privatisation of power companies has cost New Zealand taxpayers $871 million, the Green Party said.

“The latest data shows that National’s sale of 49 percent of shares in the power companies was a massive transfer of wealth from the people of New Zealand to a few select investors, many who live overseas,” Green Party energy spokesperson Gareth Hughes said.

“If the Crown still owned 100 percent of these companies, taxpayers could collectively have earned another $381 million this year alone and a whopping $775 million since the selloff.

“Add to that the $96 million of costs associated with the sale process, including bonus shares to sweeten the deal for private investors, and the New Zealand taxpayer is $871 million worse off because of National’s failed privatisation plan.

“Consumers are hurting because power prices are up 3.8 percent – meanwhile power companies are paying out massive salaries to their CEOs and directors.

“The CEOs of the three partially privatised power companies now all earn over a million dollars each, and Meridian’s CEO gets close to $2 million when extra perks are included.

“Rising salaries for power company CEOs are cold comfort for Kiwi households facing higher power bills,” said Mr Hughes.

Mighty River Power’s announcement today of a special shareholder dividend means it will pay out almost $300 million for the year, and caps off a string of recent profit announcements from the partially privatised power companies. Contact and Meridian are also paying special dividends, while Genesis’ profit doubled from the previous year.

The Green Party has released new analysis, undertaken by the Parliamentary Library, of the financial statements of the recently partially privatised power companies Genesis, Mighty River Power, and Meridian.

Nestle Pays Only $524 to Extract 27,000,000 Gallons of California Drinking Water – from Antimedia

More revelations on Nestle from Claire Bernish at ANTIMEDIA, August 20, 2015

Firstly,

Some thoughts on our own supplies of water in NZ:

P1160151
Lake Horowhenua

Many Kiwis will be aware of similar water issues here, particularly the Hawkes Bay where water rights have been sold to a Chinese company at bargain rates, giving them the right to extract, bottle and sell, whilst local orchardists pay through the nose for water to irrigate their orchards. Watch for a post on this issue. Water rights is an issue of growing importance, something we were all warned about by Maude Barlow in her book ‘Blue Gold’. These supplies, particularly aquifers, are indeed gold now as the rivers world wide are becoming increasingly polluted to the extent they are unsafe to drink or often even to swim in, as in the case of Lake Horowhenua. Continually the environment is being compromised in favour of corporate profits, and our authorities are letting them away with it. This reeks of corruption in the light of our so called ‘sustainable’ councils which speak

Bonny Glen Landfill
Midwest Disposal’s Landfill

with forked tongues. Not only are they allowing foreign companies to pillage precious supplies at ‘mates rates’, they also turn a blind eye to industry’s ongoing and blatant pollution of our precious waterways. This is evident in Rangitikei’s ongoing issue and lack of accountability with regard to the dumping of leachate into our water systems by local landfill owners, Midwest Disposals. Watch this space.

Now More on California & Nestle’s Super Cheap Water Rights

“In 2013, the company drew 27 million gallons of water from 12 springs in Strawberry Canyon for the brand — apparently by employing rather impressive legerdemain —considering the permit to do soexpired in 1988.

But, as Nestle will tell you, that really isn’t cause for concern since it swears it is a good steward of the land and, after all, that expired permit’s annual fee has been diligently and faithfully paid in full —all $524 of it.” ….

“There is another site the company drains for profit while California’s historic drought rages on: Deer Canyon. Last year, Nestle drew 76 million gallons from the springs in that location, which is a sizable increase over 2013’s 56 million-gallon draw” …

“Though there is no way to verify exactly how much Nestle must spend to produce a single bottle of Arrowhead spring water, the astronomical profit is undeniable fact: the most popular size of a bottle of Arrowhead 100% Mountain Spring Water (1 liter) retails for 89¢ — putting the potential profit for Nestle in the tens of billions.

Activists have called for a boycott of Nestle Waters and all Nestle products until they are held accountable for their actions in California.”

Corporate Knighthoods … and Why You Should Boycott Talley’s Products

(Photo credit: Support Talleys Workers! FB page)

“Corporations are required by law to place the financial interests of their owners above competing interests. They are legally bound to put their bottom line ahead of everything else, even the public good” (Noam Chomsky, ‘The Corporation’).

Talleys has been in NZ’s news this week with a FB page calling for the public to boycott their products. This is in response to Talley’s attempts to destroy their own workers’ rights. Meat Workers Union members had asked 18 months ago for their existing collective contract to roll over along with a 1.5 % pay increase. Talley’s refused to sign off the Collective Employment Contract and stalled until the National government passed a new law allowing them to walk away from negotiations.

… from the The Daily Blog NZ:

“After threatening worker rights, after trying to set up a new Union, after using hunger as a negotiating tactic that impacted 5000 children, after having the Police contact me and request blogs be taken down, Talley’s has made a complaint to Facebook to remove the ‘Boycott Talley’s’ Facebook group.”

Talleys who bought out Affco has eight meat processing plants in the North Island of NZ  …” a major player in the meat industry with a billion dollars in revenue annually and 2800 staff…”  Talley’s launched a fight to destroy the meat workers union and  “… the demands the company put on the table would have cut workers pay, increased the working day, gut union protections, and eliminated seniority rights for staff. The company’s purpose is simple – to boost production and profits at all costs – including the lives and limbs of their workforce, as well as the environment…”

are the people who support their local communities. They perform all the voluntary functions that keep communities going and contribute to their health and vitality. When any government or company seeks to take a decent living away from families they inevitably affect whole communities.

Anyway, since Talley’s has requested FB take down the boycott Talley’s page, perhaps you’d like to go’ like’ & join it to help Talley’s workers get a fair deal. Talley’s is certainly off my menu from hereon in. The company produces for local & export markets … meat, dairy products, ice cream and frozen vegetables so it’s an international effort here, not just local.

You’ll see in the Daily Blog article, Peter Talley, joint manager of Talley’s, was knighted back in 2012 for his services to humanity … by the Queen who owns a sixth of the planet no less.

Talley’s Safety Record

“Over the last three years ACC has paid out $8 million to nearly 5000 Talley’s employees – that’s more than one injury for every worker employed by Talley’s companies. 1286 Talley’s workers were injured on the job last year alone.”See more

Profits

This is all typical behaviour for corporations because their bottom line is always profits for shareholders. This is their legal mandate … and to boot they have no legal liability for damage to people or environments. They offload those costs onto the recipients of their ‘benevolence’ and call them ‘externalities’. And by the way, your country NZ is a corporation and its CEO aka PM is also a banker with a wealth of experience at Merryl Lynch. Adds up doesn’t it?

As a FB blogger has pointed out, the people who work for these companies

It’s all about being part of the club and the corporate arm is its strong arm.

Find out more … read the Daily Blog’s full article here:

Forest Service Official Who Let Nestle Drain California Water Now Works for Them … the Nature of Corporations

Corporations owe no allegiance to anybody except their shareholders. Behemoths with legal person hood, they focus solely on maximizing profit … personal ethics are foreign. If you are of the older school you will have noted that for more than two decades now loyalty to staff is a thing of the past and consequently, staff hold little loyalty to their employers. We’ve all heard stories of folks who worked for companies that put out the rumour there was a possibility staff would be cut … so everybody sweated it out for months wondering if they were selected to go. It had the effect of causing folks to look for work elsewhere which saved the boss the job. Then there are stories of folks arriving at work and being told, pack your bags, you no longer have a job as from today. A far cry now from the days when an employee worked 30 odd years for a company and retired with a gold watch. hand-648444_1280 Watch The Corporation documentary and learn how the attributes of a corporation are literally psychopathic. In light of their modus operandi, this article makes complete sense. Personally I prefer to boycott companies like these. Why not join me? If nobody buys their stuff then their whole raison d’etre falls flat. Read the article.

(ANTIMEDIA) San Bernardino National Forest — “An ongoing investigation by The Desert Sun into Nestle’s contentious bottled water operations in drought-stricken California first disclosed that the company’s permit to draw water had a rather astonishing expiration date that occurred over a quarter century ago, in 1988. Recently, the Sun reported an update in the investigation with a jaw-dropping twist: the Forest Service — not Nestle — is the agency primarily responsible for failing to renew Nestle’s permit.

In fact, judging by the government agency’s complete inability to even review Nestle’s long-expired permit — not to mention the lucrative job a retired Forest Service supervisor currently enjoys — there is an arguable case that collusion and corruption are at the heart of the entire issue…”

EPA sends Navajo polluted water in OIL TANKS — Animas spill from FRACKING WASTEWATER?!

Shocking revelations by dutchsinse on Youtube!

Published on Aug 21, 2015

“PLEASE! Get this out to the people of the Navajo Nation, to the people of Colorado + New Mexico, to state representatives, and NATIONAL Government (Senators and Congressmen).

Full website post covering this story with all the links shown in the video here:

http://dutchsinse.com/8212015-epa-del…

I stand behind these findings , and the people of the Navajo Nation need to compare the Animas river pollution to oil well / fracking wastewater injection chemicals IMMEDIATELY.

This wastewater delivery looks like an attempt to spread the chemicals on purpose — to cover up the wastewater in the Animas coming from the nearby Oil / Gas / Wastewater disposal wells located all around Durango Colorado (each well containing millions of gallons of toxic water . Thousands of wells nearby the location in question).

In my assessment, most likely one of the wastewater injection wells gave way, since NASA / NOAA are already studying the same area due to a HUGE methane leak causing a pocket of methane over the whole 4 corners region.

This same “leaking” injection well operation is now the area where the Animas river has been polluted. The “Gold Mine” story might just be that — a STORY made up.. not based in actual reality.
_____

The Environmental Protection Agency caused a toxic water spill into the Animas river, which feeds the Navajo Indian Nation with water.

The spill was blamed on an “old Gold mine” which somehow had toxic water released by the EPA during an inspection of a well / mine location.

When the EPA did their inspection of this supposed “Gold King Mine”, they somehow released millions of gallons of toxic water into the Animas river. The toxic spill thus cut off the water supply to the people down stream.
______

Professor Doom’s video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhJSt…
_____

Fracking wastewater injection wells are quite possibly the REAL cause of this waste spill by the EPA since the area is leaking methane to the point where NASA / NOAA are studying the area currently (2015).

Massive leaks in the huge fracking / oil pumping operation have been detected.. thus if gas is leaking from these wells, no doubt the waste water which they inject under pressure is also being released.

I’m venturing a guess that if the water in the Animas was tested , and you looked for oil pumping / gas well operation chemcials .. that you’d find out a giant WASTEWATER DISPOSAL WELL must have broke when the EPA was inspecting it.

Was it a Gold mine, or was it a large wastewater disposal well?

Since there are THOUSANDS of wastewater disposal wells, oil wells, and frack wells , and only ONE Gold Mine .. the chances of this giant release of wastewater coming from a wastewater well are much higher than a “Gold Mine” being the culprit.

One culprit cannot be sued, or blamed (the Old Gold Mine).. the OTHER culprit (the fracking injection well / oil pumping operations) are capable of being legally held responsible.

Could it be that they sent these polluted tanks of water in the hopes the Indians would spread it out across their land, and then the EPA would have an excuse for all the fracking / oil pumping injection chemicals to be across the Animas river?!

People in the Indian reservations need to immediately compare the Animas pollution water to known Oil / Gas well drilling injection chemicals.

I’d be willing to bet that we’d find out this “spill” is from a fracking / injection / wastewater operation as opposed to an “old gold mine”.

Why are NASA / NOAA out in the same area studying leaking gas wells? I think it is obvious the two are related.”

How the West Systematically Underdevelops Poor Countries

This five minute broadcast is an eye opener … from Dr Michael Parenti, one of my favourite authors/lecturers/activists. The beginning of my journey into discovering the many lies perpetrated on the West by the powers that be was Walter Rodney’s ‘How Europe Underdeveloped Africa’. The latter is a well documented treatise on how that rich continent, Africa, has been milked from the days of Cecil Rhodes onwards … Rhodes was that decorated gentleman and son of the British Empire who dreamed that white people would rule the world and said quite unashamedly:

download“We must find new lands from which we can easily obtain raw materials and at the same time exploit the cheap slave labour that is available from the natives of the colonies. The colonies would also provide a dumping ground for the surplus goods produced in our factories”

The big lie they used to cover their exploitative activity was that they came to benevolently share the fruits of civilization. This was sheer humbug and were it so the recipients would now be prosperous. Instead they feature highest in all the negative stats of their respective countries. The latter is explained away by shifting the blame onto the recipients (eg. ‘they’re lazy) … an easy feat since perpetrators own the media. Listen to Parenti encapsulate it in a nutshell how this process continues on today:

Tens of thousands of people turn out to protest against the TPPA

With failed talks in Hawaii recently with regards to the free trade agreement, Kiwis turned out en masse today in many parts of the country to protest the whole deal that has thus far been carried out in secret. Ostensibly a free trade deal, it is a doorway that will give corporations open slather to sue us if we threaten their profit making margins … something they are already doing in other countries. Educate yourself on this issue … it is important. Here are links to various news reports throughout the country.

The corporate crime of the century!

51Ue+bjxMJL._SX318_BO1,204,203,200_A couple of years ago I came across a book in a garage sale called ‘Circle of Poison’.  Published in 1981 it documents a trail of intriguing scandal regarding the export of banned pesticides from industrial countries to the third world. Products banned in the US saw the sellers simply exporting the separate ingredients to be assembled offshore for sale to unsuspecting customers oblivious to the products’ banned status. Many of these products were then duly sprayed on produce that would be returned to the country of the original banning. ‘Banning problem solved’ as it were.  One of the authors David Weir describes how he came upon this scheme.  Following a ban in the US of cyclamates, he discovered the ingredient in a packet of Kool-Aid he purchased whilst in Afghanistan. This began his trail of inquiries back in the 1970s  which eventually led to an article in the US magazine, Mother Jones in 1979 entitled ‘The Corporate Crime of the Century’ and eventually to the book Circle of Poison. It imageswas found that not only were toxic ingredients being exported, but defective medical devices, lethal drugs, known carcinogens, contaminated foods and other products deemed unsafe for American consumption as well. The results of this dumping are horrific.

  • “400 Iraqis died in 1972 and 5,000 were hospitalized after consuming the by-products of 8,000 tons of wheat and barley coated with an organic mercury fungicide, whose use had been banned in the U.S.
  • No one knows how many children may develop cancer since several million children’s garments treated with a carcinogenic fire retardant called Tris were shipped overseas after being forced off the domestic market by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)”. (from Mother Jones … more examples in the article)

Lomotil, an effective prescription-only anti-diarrhea medicine sold in the U.S., fatal in amounts just slightly over the recommended doses, was sold over the counter in Sudan, advertised as a product that was used by astronauts during the Gemini and Apollo space flights and also recommended for use by children as young as 12 months. Another item was Depo Provera, a birth control injection. This was banned in the United States because it caused malignant tumors in beagles and monkeys, yet is sold by the Upjohn Co. in 70 other countries, where it is widely used in U.S.-sponsored population control programs. It is currently also prescribed by GPs in New Zealand. Watch for an article on this product. I intend to research it soon. And the dumping of unwanted stuff is still going on by all appearances. More on that in another post. It does illustrate perfectly the utter disregard corporations hold for the health of the public. Again their bottom line is profits.

Here is the Mother Jones Article:

The Corporate Crime of the Century

It’s called dumping: When the U.S. government forces a dangerous drug, pesticide or other product off the domestic market, the manufacturer then sells that same product—frequently with the direct support of the State Department—throughout the rest of the world.

Tom Mboya was the hope of the western world. Bright, energetic, popular and inclined to be democratic—he was a born leader who, Washington hoped, would rise to power in Kenya and help keep Africa safe for United States commerce. In 1969 he was shot down in the streets of Nairobi. An emergency rescue squad was by his side in minutes. They plugged him into the latest gadget in resuscitative technology—a brand new U.S. export called the Res-Q-Aire. What the rescue team didn’t know as they watched Tom Mboya’s life slip away was that this marvelous device had been recalled from the American market by the US government because it was found to be totally ineffective. The patient died….Read More Here

The biggest Bank heist ever!

(For video description scroll to bottom of page)

Here is some enlightening weekend viewing. Learn why our respective nations have undergone such radical changes in recent decades. The oldies among us will tell you this. Things are not as they were.

New Zealand has changed dramatically since the late ’80s when the new neo liberal economic policies called Rogernomics set in. We are now the reapers of that earlier Government’s folly, and paying a price. Where once we had full employment and no debt, we are now in debt … big time (climbing $27 million per day) and subject to the control of big business. Borrowing millions per week to stay afloat? Our grandparents must be turning in their graves. That was the unfortunate ‘NZ Experiment’ that sold us down the river, and with our assets now going … going … gone, we no longer enjoy the sovereignty we once had. They sold off our family silver as it were under the fancy name of ‘privatization’. (A new term, note, that gives a professional air and shifts the focus off what is really happening). We were told it was to pay our national debt but we are now more in debt than ever … it clearly hasn’t worked. Our country is now a corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and our government departments likewise. There is your clue. Corporations have one bottom line: PROFITS.

As an early NZ settler of colonial times stated:

The whole and entire object of everyone here is making money, the big fishes eating the little ones (‘The Rich List’, G Hunt p 29)

So ‘filthy lucre’ if you like was uppermost back then as well … the driving motive for expansion to other shores was not as we’ve been led to believe … to bring civilization and Christianity … these were merely by-products.

With this corporatisation everything began to operate on a business model, and instead of people with related background experience matching the kind of government department they served, we saw people appointed with purely business skills.  Their focus became figures and profitability, not people, so social service and health departments were required to predict their costs in advance based on historical data. Quite a feat when dealing for instance with child abuse.  Government departments were subjected to restructuring (the new catch word given to the changes … known also in other countries by other names like ‘structural adjustment’) and told it was so they could all work smarter. In fact, where I worked at the time, I likened it to musical chairs. When the music stopped there were less bums on seats in the office. And the music kept playing, and the seats kept disappearing. The folks on the ground inherited more work from their now absent colleagues, and the CEOs inherited fatter salaries to ensure (I suspect) the new status quo remained. It was a classic case of smoke and mirrors and happened across the board. Friends of mine in other professions complained of being buried in mountains of new paper requirements, the face of their jobs completely changing, and leaving less time for people.

So now we see evidence of this business model everywhere, with their whole raison d’etre being profits, while the memory of a caring welfare state is becoming more and more elusive by the year. In rural communities it still sticks out like a sore toe because it clashes with their longtime ethic of community and caring.

On that note, as you ponder on the origins of our (and many other countries’) demise into the debt abyss … grasp an overview of the root cause of these problems in ‘The Biggest Bank Heist Ever’. It is all about making money, the big fishes eating the little fishes. Remember, it is a mythical illusion that all can succeed under capitalism. Wakefield himself of the NZ Company openly stated that they would keep the price of land high enough so that not all could own any (1).

Video Description

Video info: “The award winning documentary ‘Inside Job’ [2011 | US] by the veteran crusader, Charles Ferguson is the most insightful and illuminating amongst a number of such attempts that deal with the global financial crisis, which is wrecking lives and economies across the world to this day.

The reason is that it successfully challenges the myths and lies surrounding the root causes of the crisis and tells us exactly how and why it happened, in a simple and straightforward way that anyone can understand.

IsuruFoundation® highly recommends this great film to anyone who wants to know why we the public are paying with our lives for the treacherous shenanigans of the filthy rich and the powerful.”

With escalating electricity bills, some of our elderly are struggling to keep warm!

This article from Stuff.co.nz illustrates that our elderly are staying in bed to keep warm and avoid turning on heaters, citing some bills of $500!  The article here does explore possible reasons for escalating power bills and offers assistance and advice for those who are struggling. As a matter of interest however, smart meters are known to escalate power bills so if any of your loved ones are suffering in this way, you could be a little proactive on their behalf and check out if this is the reason. I know of a pensioner in a tiny one b/r flat who barely has her oil heater on, who is getting $300 power bills! (Mine is $200, same scenario, with heater on most days in winter … no smart meter, I got it removed when some power companies were removing them). Another person I know, their bill, AFTER the SM installation (nothing else changed re consumption, appliances or anything) …  escalated from $400 to $1000, I elderly-woman-228955_1280 kid you not. The Take Back Your Power website documents all this kind of info, and locally to NZ, the stopsmartmeters nz. website. Just saying as this is often the cause of higher bills although power companies deny it. If you get the chip removed from them (you may need to find a power company that will do it, shop around) the bills could go down or at least you’ll have eliminated that ticky box. I know that sometimes it is just high usage, but in some cases it is the meter.

I do feel for the elderly, this is not right they are cold in winter because of predatory power companies. Contact Energy in the year to June 30, produced a 17.6 per cent increase in net profit of $234 million. They appear to be doing fine, however we should be looking after our old people not ripping them off. These are the ones who did the hard yards in their younger years … so we should be looking after them in their older years. They built the society we have today that is quickly disappearing thanks to corporate sell outs. Vis a vis the current disappearance of our State Housing stock.

“A nation’s greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members.”
~ Mahatma Ghandi

Nestle CEO Says He Would Profit More from CA’s Drought if He Could
