Boost Brain Function and Blood Flow With This ‘Fruit’ Extract

Research confirms the power of a simple dietary change in improving memory problems in middle-aged and older adults.

In a study titled, “Pomegranate juice augments memory and FMRI activity in middle-aged and older adults with mild memory complaints,” thirty-two subjects with self-reported memory complaints were randomly assigned to drink 8 ounces of either pomegranate juice or a flavor-matched placebo drink for 4 weeks, receiving memory testing, functional MRI scans (fMRI), and blood draws for peripheral biomarkers before and after the intervention.

After 4 weeks, only the pomegranate group showed significant improvement in verbal memory scores and plasma antioxidant levels.  Furthermore, compared to placebo, the pomegranate group showed increased fMRI activity during verbal and memory tasks, indicating pomegranate juice consumption results in increased blood flow to critical task-related brain regions.

This is not the first study to identify a brain-beneficial effect to pomegranate juice, as a sizable body of animal research already exists demonstrating it has neuroprotective properties against aluminum-,[1] stroke-,[2] [3] and glucose deprivation-associated neurotoxicity,[4] and may also inhibit the formation of pathological plaques and the over-excitation of microglial cells associated with Alzheimer’s disease.[5] [6] [7]

Pomegranate, in fact, is capable of unclogging and tonifying the cardiovascular system, which is especially important when it comes to brain health, and so-called vascular dementia. In fact, in a previous article titled,  “How To Clean Your Arteries with One Simple Fruit,” I report on the ability of pomegranate juice to regress blockages within the carotid arteries of patients.  

There is also its well-known age-defying ability to prevent adverse changes associated with the exhaustion of ovarian function.  In a previous article, “Amazing Fact: Pomegranate Can Function as a Back-up Ovary,” we looked at animal research explaining how this legendary food, traditionally linked with regeneration and immortality, may provide an alternative to bioidenticial and synthetic hormone replacement therapies.

As the research community continues to explore the potential role of so-called ‘medicinal foods’ in improving quality of life and preventing and/or treating diseases that are largely refractory to conventional drug-based interventions, we can rest assured that pomegranate will continue to play a central role in the rediscovery of food as medicine.

While much of the research is preliminary, an increasingly robust body of human clinical research indicates that pomegranate has a wide range of potential health benefits, including:

  • Improve Pregnancy/Birth Outcomes: Pomegranate juice has been found to potentially protect the unborn fetus by reducing oxidative stress in the placenta.[8]
  • Improve Rheumatoid Arthritis: Pomegranate juice reduces disease activity and oxidative stress in rheumatoid patients.[9]
  • Improve Heart Disease: Pomegranate juice has been found to have anti-atherogenic properties by reducing oxidative stress, including LDL cholesterol oxidation.[10]
  • Fights Prostate Cancer: Pomegranate juice has been found to prolong prostate doubling, as well as inhibit the proliferation and increase programmed cell death in the prostates of men with prostate cancer.[11]
  • Contributes to Weight Loss: Pomegranate juice was found to contribute to a reduction in weight, without decreasing insulin sensitivity like other commonly used sources of ‘sugar.’[12]

A mother & 3 children poisoned in 2016 by 1080 poison dust said the NZ hospital had no idea what to do!

So the NZ authorities have been bombarding our forests & farms with this Class 1A Ecotoxin for well nigh 60 years, and the hospitals still don’t know what to do?!!! Don’t have a plan in place at all? Doesn’t that sound well … not too intelligent?

The interesting thing is, in spite of not knowing, some Doctors who perhaps are painfully aware of the situation venture to recommend testing for 1080 when folk present with mysterious symptoms, and meet with brick walls. Very curious. Remember the Putaruru family? And what Dr Charles Baycroft said? It is all looking very factual indeed. EWR

“What does a New Zealander, or indeed a tourist do when they suspect 1080 poisoning has occurred? Harden up? Hope for the best? Believe that “she’ll be right?” Or perhaps go to the GP who, in the case of the two sisters caught in 1080 dust during their picnic, “didn’t really know how to deal with it”. There is no process, protocol, guidance or help and many people don’t trust the system, which appears to be in place to protect the aerial-1080 programme and not us.

A recent private drop carried out in Hawkes Bay’s Panpac Forestry has resulted in a mother and her three children becoming ill from, once again, 1080 dust. The Panpac drop was on 28th August.

Immediate symptoms were that it was hard to breath, dizziness, tingling lips, and later the next day chest pains and heart palpatations. Another reaction has been a very puffy face, yet the pharmacy said it was not hayfever. They thought it was something very serious. It is a sad indictment that victims of 1080 poison feel unable to approach the authorities as they have seen too many before them be brushed aside, that there is ‘no help’, and that it is all swept under the carpet. The 1080 issue appears to be one of patriotism and one must not criticise. We must stop protesting and ‘get on board with the programme’ according to Ms Barry in The Press.

From an Otago professor who lectures on toxins in the workplace there’s this advice:

For anyone who knows or suspects they have been exposed to 1080 poison you must pass a urine sample as soon as possible into a clean jar and refrigerate it until you can send it to Landcare Research, Cawthorne Research Institute and/or Gribbles for testing.

Yet can we trust the Crown Research laboratories? (ed. are you joking?)

And this from the victim today:

“Been to hospital and waited 2 hrs to be told they couldn’t test me they didn’t know how to test for it so had dye put in my eyes and my daughters eyes looking for scratches to eye but there was none so got sent home so if I have got it it’s now been left unattended cause they haven’t a clue how to treat anyone and they were shocked 1080s been dumped they were suppose to be notified first”.

Hospital absolutely did not know what to do. No information and did not know about urine testing. She and her kids are still getting chestpains.

They were promised by a contact at DoC that there was no drop, it was postponed, and that there would be articles in the paper before any drop. She was in touch week by week with DoC to make sure it was safe to go. They went with a trapping permit and the destination was MacIntosh DoC hut.

There’d been no rain to settle the dust but very strong winds, which meant they dad to move branches. They found it harder and harder to breathe.

Are you all as appalled as I am? This is abysmal support and dangerously cavalier to have no medical back up for a poison that is so widely used. Where is the protection from any fall out from our government’s poisoning policy? It is like being at war. Yet a silent one. Women and children were running around up there – not just the family that has so far come forward. This globally banned poison, with the highest international rating for being a biohazardous chemical, is being dropped without sufficient warning over vast areas of our countryside. And our Minister for Conservation is without compassion, is simply telling us 1080 is like a cup of tea. Safe she says. You can go back to a drop zone after 48 hours.

NO. These people were there 5 days after the drop was supposedly over. The MacIntosh Plateau, which was not supposed to be in the drop zone, is full of dead birds and dead deer and that information has come from a variety of different sources.

Where is this going to end?”

Tonnes of 1080 poison from a flooded Sth Westland storage shed was recently disposed of at Marton’s Bonny Glen landfill

Note: 30 tonnes in total were buried at the landfill consisting of 14 tonnes of prefeed bait, and 16 tonnes of 1080.

On May 18, 2019, I received this response to an OIA request from Carl Johnson, HS Compliance, Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), regarding the storage of 1080 baits in a flood-prone and flooded shed belonging to JJ Nolan Ltd at Okuru, Haast, South Westland.

The shed containing 1080 baits was flooded during the recent West Coast flood (25,26 March, 2019) that swept away the bridge over the Waiho River at Haast and caused huge damage in Westland, and further up the coast too.

“Hello Carol

On the 28th of March we received notification and following information from DOC regarding 1080 being affected by the flood:

“On the day of the flood water did seep into the shed storing 1080. 
The water rose above the timbre ( sic ) pallets the bait sits on and reached some of the bottom bags.
No green dye was seen leaching out of the shed
No bags were broken open and there was no loose bait in or outside of the shed. All packing was and remained intact.
The bait that was affected by water was disposed of.”

Ho hum ! The flood “reached some of the bottom bags”.

“Some” bags! Rather an understatement, DoC! In fact more than 30 tonnes had to be disposed of!!!

Today David Haynes, Co-leader, NZ Outdoors Party, sent me the attached Official Information Act response he received from the Environmental Protection Authority, which gives the true story, plus the extraordinary fact that the damaged poison was trucked back up to Marton in the North Island….. a distance of 926 kilometres by road, plus the Interisland ferry!

1080 STORAGE SHED FLOODED AT HAAST – WHY HAVE WE NOT HEARD ABOUT THIS ?

On 25 and 26 March, 2019, extremely severe rainfall caused extensive flooding on the West Coast of the South Island. The bridge over the Waiho River at Franz Josef was swept away, and the State Highway, the only access road up the Coast, cut in two.

Further south, on the banks of the Okuru River just south of Haast, is Nolan Road, home to members of the Nolan family and JJ Nolan, owner of ‘JJ Nolan’s Transport Ltd’. JJ Nolan’s Transport Ltd has, for very many years, transported 1080 poison baits south from Whanganui to the South Island, to Haast, Makarora, etc. … to 1080 drop loading zones, or to Northern Southland Transport in Te Anau, who then move it on to 1080 drop loading zones, etc. Nolan trucks are travelling south from Whanganui right now, in fact. They are part of the big 1080 Gravy Train.

On Nolan Road, Okuru, is a shed used for storing 1080 poison baits. This latest flood swept through the properties pictured here in the aerial photograph, including, I am told, the 1080 storage shed. The shed contained 1080 baits at the time…we have not yet found out how much. It is rumoured that it contained at least 25 tonnes. As you can see, this four bay shed could hold a large amount of 1080 poison baits. 25 tonnes is only approximately one truck and trailer unit. You can see a truck and trailer curtain-sider beside the storage shed, which gives you some idea. Only half the depth of the storage shed is visible in the street view photos, by the way.

(These photos were taken completely legally from Nolan Road, which is a public road. The ‘Closed area’ sign at Nolan Creek refers to whitebaiting. It says “Nolan Creek – This waterway is closed to whitebait fishing” )

Why, then,would you build a 1080 storage shed in a flood-prone area ?! Why did DoC give this contractor permission to store 1080 baits here?​ The second aerial photo shows old river courses ( marked with red dotted lines ) ! This is not a place one should even store chook food !!​

1080 poison disperses in water quickly and easily, so imagine floodwaters ebbing away and imagine how enormous the concentration of pure 1080 poison in the last water to leach out of fadges of baits would be ! (1) (2)

The first property you come to on Nolan Road, I have been told, belongs to Maurice and Kathleen Nolan. In the Otago Daily Times ( 8 April, 2019 ), it is reported of this house: “Wild weather lashed the West Coast last month, forcing the postponement of the calf sale for a week – and flooding Mr and Mrs Nolan’s house, the water reaching over the top of their dining room chairs”

TVOne News apparently reported a cottage on the next property along ( the one with the storage shed on it ) as being destroyed by the flood, too.

I am told the occupiers of all three of these properties had to move to the local camping ground after the flood.

The photos show the property with the 1080 storage shed and also show you Nolan Creek, a bit further along the road, to give you some idea of flood damage. Nolan Creek runs just metres behind the 1080 storage shed, incidentally, then crosses Nolan Road and runs into the Okuru River.

The high flood level is evident from the grass hanging on the fence and the silage plastic wrapped around the top of the fence in front of the 1080 storage shed.

If it is true, as rumoured, that the shed contained a minimum of 25 tonnes of 1080 baits at the time, I should explain to you how very lethal this is :

25 tonnes of 1080 baits contain 37.5 kgs of pure 1080 poison.

The LD50 for a human being: “Based on fatal or near-fatal cases of human poisonings, the dangerous dose for humans is 0.5-2.0 mg/kg BW (Negherbon 1959)”

If we take the lowest figure that means that 35mgs pure 1080 poison can kill a 70 kg adult human being.

Therefore 25 tonnes of 1080 baits contain enough pure 1080 poison to kill as many as 540,000 people and poison another 540,000!!!

SHOULD ENOUGH 1080 TO KILL 540,000 ADULT HUMANS BE STORED IN A FLOOD-PRONE SHED?!!

“Hmmm… that shed is likely to have standard 6m bays, but lets be conservative and say 5m. That makes the height to the top of the doors a bit over 4m. The shed is 70% as deep as it is wide so 14m.
That makes the volume somewhere around 1,100 cubic metres. If you were to fill that to the top with wheat that would be 870 Tonne so 25T would take up about 1/32 of the space. I’m picking that bait doesn’t pack anywhere as well as wheat but it does show just how much 1080 bait you could stack in there.
At 0.15% pure 1080, and assuming that bait is 60% as dense as wheat, that’s a maximum of 783kg of highly water soluble toxin in a tanalised-post farm shed, on a flood plain, with no bunding or other containment measures. Even if it’s near the rumoured 25T that would amount to more than 37kg of pure 1080. Who issued the permit for that storage?!”

“rapid decline [in 1080 concentration in cereal baits on turf under sprinklers] (ERMA Agency Appendix C page 380)

“1080 was detected in soil under the baits after 20mm rain, reaching a maximum after 100mm and close to the LOD after 250 mm” (ERMA Agency Appendix C page 381)

Also one of the reasons for its low rate of detection in water samples taken after 1080 drops was rapid loss of 1080 from the baits in water:

“the reason for so many non-detects in water monitoring..may be partly due to..rapid..dilution or loss of 1080 from, and disintegration of..baits within the first 12 hours of deposition..the author [Suren, 2006] recommends sampling within 4-8 hours..frequently resource consents require monitoring one day or more after..the operation” ERMA Agency Appendix E page 473″S

(2) Richard Healey comments again :

“There have been a couple of studies that give some clues about what happens to the 1080 when it comes into contact with water. Ogilvie, in “Uptake of 1080 by Watercress and Puha – Culturally Important plants used for food”, has a couple of observations that give a clue as to how contaminated the land around the Okuru will now be:
“A study by Suren (2006) examined the fate of 1080 baits in a controlled laboratory flow tank, and found 50% of the 1080 leached after 5 hours submerged in the water, and >90% leached after 24 hours, thus being very rapid. While the flow rate used in Suren’s (2006) controlled experiment was faster than the flow rates recorded here (0.2 L/sec as opposed to an overall stream flow of 0.042 – 0.044 L/sec in this research), it still indicates the rapid deterioration and leaching of 1080 from baits submerged in flowing water”.

That study also shows that Watercress is particularly good at sucking 1080 out of water and concentrating it in plant material. The authors couldn’t find detectable levels of 1080 in water 14 hours after dropping baits into a very gentle stream, yet toxicity within the plants continued to build for the next seven days to a peak level of 63 ppb. The study methodology and reporting are however woeful.

It doesn’t seem to have occurred to the authors that water velocity is likely to be an important factor and so they give flow rates (for an undefined cross-section) which tells us nothing about how much water passed over each bait. They then confuse the issue by labeling flow rate as velocity.

One thing is absolutely certain however, someone should be checking the inventory log for that shed and sampling the hell out of the surrounding area.”

Growing cucumbers in your garden or container

Cucumbers are one of my most highly recommended vegetables, and if you have a garden, you can easily grow them at home.1,2,3 Aside from being able to control pesticide and fertilizer use, you’ll also avoid the wax applied to many commercially sold cucumbers. There are dozens of varieties that thrive in both cool and warm climates, although they can be a challenge to grow if temperatures are consistently in the mid-90s.

While made up of 90 to 95 percent water, cucumbers still manage to provide a host of valuable nutrients, including vitamins A, B5, C and K, along with manganese, potassium, magnesium, molybdenum, copper, silica and fiber. Cucumbers also contain lignans that bind with estrogen-related bacteria in the digestive tract, contributing to a reduced risk of several cancers, including breast, uterus, ovarian and prostate cancer.4

Other phytonutrients called cucurbitacins — part of a larger group known as triterpenes, and the part of the cucumber that gives it a bitter taste — also inhibit cancer cell development. Preliminary findings also suggest cucumbers have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.5

In traditional medicine, cucumbers are used to treat headaches. The seeds are diuretic, and the juice — thanks to caffeic acid and vitamin C — can be used as an acne treatment and a soothing remedy for tired, puffy eyes.

Cucumber varieties

Technically, cucumbers are a fruit, related to both the melon and squash families. The three main categories of cucumbers you can choose from are:

Slicing cucumbers: thick-skinned and generally larger, growing to be 6 to 8 inches long

Pickling cucumbers: thin-skinned and smaller, reaching 3 to 4 inches in length

English or gourmet cucumber, also known as “burpless:” a longer, thinner version with very small seeds

Some varieties of cucumbers will be more bitter than others. Beit Alpha, Lemon Cuke, Tendergreen burpless and White Wonder are among the sweetest. You can find a listing of other popular varieties on Rodale Organic Life’s website.6 As a general rule, cucumbers need quite a bit of garden space, as they grow on trailing vines. However, there are also bushy varieties that only need minor staking, making them suitable for container gardens.

Popular bush varieties include Hybrid, Salad, Picklebush and Arkansas Little Leaf, the latter of which will produce fruit without pollination, making it an ideal choice for apartment dwellers and small container gardens. To optimize your container-grown cucumber, plant it in equal parts of potting soil, compost, perlite and peat moss, and use a container that is at least 12 inches in diameter and 8 inches deep.

The plants also need five to nine hours of full sun. The greater the sun exposure, the more productive the plant will be. An east-west directed trellis will optimize light exposure. That said, if temperatures are consistently in the mid-90s, provide the plants with filtered afternoon shade to avoid overheating.

Planting and growing cucumbers

Depending on the variety, your cucumbers will be ready for harvest in 50 to 105 days. For earlier harvest, start the plants indoors, using a grow light, approximately four weeks before your last spring frost date. They’re fast growers, though, so most gardeners will simply plant from seed directly in the garden.

For a late summer/early fall harvest, sow a second batch four to five weeks after the first. Cucumber plants are highly vulnerable to frost, so avoid planting seeds or seedlings in your garden until all danger of frost have passed, and the average soil temperature is at least 50 degrees F.

Directions

1.Plant seeds7 in rows, about one-half inch to 1 inch deep, anywhere from 1 to 6 inches apart. The plant will grow best in loose, well-draining soil. Mix in ample amounts of compost to encourage growth. Ideal pH is between 6 and 7.

2.Ideally, water heavily in the morning and allow it to lightly dry out to a depth of about 3 inches before soaking it again. This will help prevent stem rot and powdery mildew, as the plant has a shallow root system.

Allowing the plant to dry out too much can make the fruit bitter, however. A layer of mulch will help maintain the moisture balance. Adequate moisture is particularly important during flowering and fruiting. Sandier soils will require more frequent watering.

3.Once the plants are about 4 inches tall, thin the rows so the plants are spaced about 12 to 24 inches apart, depending on the variety.

4.Four weeks after planting, side-dress with compost, aged manure or 1 tablespoon of 10-7-7 organic fertilizer. A 7-5-5 or 6-3-3 balance can also be used, just make sure it has a slightly higher nitrogen ratio to stimulate leaf growth and fruiting.

That said, excessive nitrogen (and/or low boron or inadequate pollination) will result in cucumbers with hollow centers — a sign of excessively rapid growth, preventing the fruit from forming properly.

5.As the plant grows, train it upward on your trellis. Alternatively, grow them in a large pot, whiskey barrel or raised bed, where it can sprawl over the sides. Growing them vertically will produce straighter fruit, however, and protect the fruit from pests and rot.

Calorie restriction is bad news for cancer cells: It makes them “eat themselves”

(Natural News) Diets are a dime a dozen. A quick search using the word “diet” is bound to give you endless results. But which of these diets actually give the most benefit, especially when it comes to overall health? Researchers from the Harper Cancer Research Institute in South Bend, Indiana suggests calorie restriction. In their study published in NutritionResearch, they revealed that calorie restriction causes cancer cells to “eat themselves.” It also improves biomarkers of the disease.

The idea of sharply reducing calorie intake to unlock certain health benefits is one that’s been around for years. While animal studies have shown that calorie restriction has anti-aging value, researchers are still understanding how that benefit can translate to humans. Cutting back on calories could be unsustainable for us in the long run and increase the risk of muscle and bone density loss, warn scientists.

In the study, the researchers noted that calorie restriction increased autophagy rates in colorectal cancer cells based on a 3D model. Autophagy is the process by which cellular material is degraded and recycled. It allows cells to remove damaged components so they can be used for cell repair. Through autophagy, cells can maintain homeostasis.

An earlier study that appeared in The FASEB Journal reported that glucose reduction can extend the lifespan of normal cells while inhibiting the growth of precancerous cells. To compare the changes in protein expression and phenotype caused by glucose and bovine serum restriction, the researchers used a high-throughput 3D cell culture model for colorectal cancer. They also assessed how calorie restriction can affect apoptosis and autophagy in the cell culture model.

The researchers found that both glucose and serum restriction can influence the expression of proteins linked to cancer progression and metastasis. They also noted that calorie restriction caused the upregulation of sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) and protein inhibitor of activated STAT 1. The former is known for its ability to repair DNA damage and suppress tumors, while the latter regulates STAT1, a kinase involved in a variety of cellular processes including tumor suppression.

Calorie restriction also caused the downregulation of multi-drug resistance protein, zinc finger, and BTB-containing protein 7A. Multi-drug resistance proteins (MRPs), while essential in certain pathways in the body, can increase the resistance of cancer cells to drug therapy.

It’s great for overall health, but…

Calorie restriction comes with a caveat, which Natural News has already identified.

In a study published in Cell Metabolism, researchers reported that calorie restriction can lead to weight reduction, improved energy efficiency, and better aging-associated biomarkers. However, experts say that the results should be taken with a grain of salt, especially since the study is made to inspire more research on the matter. Modest calorie reduction can lead to long-term health benefits when it is coupled with intermittent fasting.

Currently one of the most popular trends worldwide, intermittent fasting is an eating pattern that uses fasting and eating periods. Unlike diets, which list down the foods that you should eat, intermittent fasting is centered around the idea of when you should eat food.

The 5:2 diet – an intermittent fasting diet that assigns five days of the week as normal eating days while restricting calories to 500–600 a day on the remaining two – is particularly effective for reducing weight and preventing metabolic diseases. A randomized controlled trial published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that while regularly sticking to the diet has the most benefit, following an intermittent calorie restriction diet can still benefit the body.

Antidepressants are killing people: Risk of early death increased by 33%

(Natural News) There is no doubt that the intense stresses and pressures of modern life have left many people feeling depressed and unable to cope. While there are certainly people who have serious mental health issues and require therapy and other treatment to help them with their struggles, it is also true that antidepressant medications like Prozac and Zoloft are viewed almost as cure-alls in our society. More people than ever before are being prescribed these medications, often without being fully informed about their serious side effects and potential for long-term harm.

Now, a new study out of Canada has raised further red flags, after researchers found that people on antidepressants, who do not suffer from heart disease, are 33 percent more likely to die from any cause than those who are not taking such medications.

The meta-analysis, which was conducted by a team from McMaster University, located in Hamilton, Ontario, and published in the journal Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics, analyzed the results of 17 earlier studies which involved close to 380,000 participants, to determine the overall long-term effects of antidepressants on longevity.

At first, their findings were not too alarming; there appeared to only be about a nine percent increase in risk of death for those on so-called “happy pills” – an elevation which the researchers did not consider to be clinically significant.

However, knowing that antidepressants thin the blood, which could have a positive effect on the health of people with cardiovascular problems by preventing clotting, the researchers then removed the results of participants with heart conditions. That was when the startling fact emerged that long-term use of antidepressants elevated risk of death by 33 percent.

Science Daily explains why the risk is likely elevated in this way:

It’s widely known that brain serotonin affects mood, and that most commonly used antidepressant treatment for depression blocks the absorption of serotonin by neurons. It is less widely known, though, that all the major organs of the body — the heart, kidneys, lungs, liver — use serotonin from the bloodstream.

Antidepressants block the absorption of serotonin in these organs as well, and the researchers warn that antidepressants could increase the risk of death by preventing multiple organs from functioning properly.

While a nine percent increase in risk might not be considered “clinically significant” – although many people would still view this as unacceptable – a 33 percent elevation in risk has these researchers seriously concerned.

“We are very concerned by these results,” said lead researcher Paul Andrews, as reported by the Daily Mail. “They suggest that we shouldn’t be taking antidepressant drugs without understanding precisely how they interact with the body. I do think these drugs for most people are doing more harm than good and that physicians ought not to generally prescribe them.”

As disturbing as this study’s findings are, they become even more shocking when one considers the fact that another study, published in the highly respected journal The Lancet, found that of the 14 most commonly prescribed antidepressants, only one – fluoxetine (Prozac) – worked better than a placebo.

In addition, one of the drugs – venlafaxine (Effexor) – was associated with an increase in suicidal thoughts and attempts.

Peter Gotzsche, the lead author of a study conducted by The Nordic Cochrane Centre, warned, “While it is now generally accepted antidepressants increase the risk of suicide and violence in children and adolescents, most people believe these drugs are not dangerous for adults. This is a potentially lethal misconception.” He added, “It is well documented that drug companies under-report seriously the harms of antidepressants related to suicide and violence, either by simply omitting them from reports, by calling them something else or by committing scientific misconduct.”

So, over 90 percent of antidepressants don’t work, they double your risk of suicide, and they increase your risk of an early death by 33 percent. It’s hard to imagine how doctors continue to justify handing them out like candy.

Some foods trap electromagnetic radiation when microwaved: Scientists discover why grapes produce fiery plasma when “nuked”

(Natural News) It’s a cool party trick, a staple at science fairs and is commonly demonstrated on the Internet: If you slice a grape almost in half and then put it in the microwave on full power, you can create a pyrotechnic spectacle as the area where the two halves of the grape meets bursts into flame.

Scientists used to believe that this phenomenon took place because the piece of skin holding the two parts of the grape together was acting as an electron conductor, but new research has uncovered a completely different explanation.

A study conducted by researchers from Trent University in Canada, published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America(PNAS), has found that this phenomenon actually occurs when microwave radiation is trapped inside cavities in the grape halves. An “Ielectronternet parlor trick” explained

As reported by New Scientist, microwaving grapes in this way creates a plasma. Whenever a gas is heated and ionized it creates plasma which releases electrons. Based on this fact, scientists assumed that the piece of skin holding the two halves of the grape together was acting as a conductor for these electrons and creating the fiery show. However, the new research discovered an entirely different explanation.

New Scientist explains:

Aaron Slepkova at Trent University in Ontario, Canada and his colleagues decided to study the phenomenon using thermal imaging and computer simulations. They found that the grapes were actually trapping the microwaves inside them, which led to them heating up.

The team used thermal imaging to look at whole grapes sitting separately, and found the energy was focused in hot spots at their centres. This suggests microwaves were being trapped inside a ‘cavity’ in the grape.

Thomas Volz of Macquarie University in Sydney, an expert who was not involved in this particular study, explained the process in more detail, as further reported by New Scientist:

Volz says that when the grapes are almost touching, they can exchange energy. These hot spots begin to build up between the two grapes and the microwaves interfere with each other to form a much hotter and more energy-dense spot than they would form independently.

Placing them next to each other focuses the energy into a very small spot, which is enough to ionise sodium and potassium within the grapes and ignite the plasma.

Could this trapped microwave radiation be harmful?

The scientists replicated the experiment in other items, including hydrogel beads, gooseberries, blackberries and quail eggs. Basically, any grape-sized object that contains enough water will create the same fiery effect when heated in the microwave.

This begs the question: Is microwave radiation being trapped in other foods heated in the microwave? And, does this food become harmful to humans when this process has taken place?

The researchers did not address this issue in their findings, but it is interesting to note that microwave manufacturers are quick to warn that old microwaves that leak radiation should be discarded because they become dangerous. And studies have found that being exposed to radiation by standing within three feet of a microwave oven can cause blood sugar spikes, heart palpitations, electrohypersensitivity and other problems.

The pharmaceutical industry spends a combined $26 billion annually to influence doctors to sell their drugs and to entice consumers to purchase their drugs. Pharma strikes a one-two knockout punch in drug sales by investing an average of $6 billion annually in direct to consumer advertisement, followed by an even larger $20 billion investment to persuade doctors to sell their drugs to consumers who are herded to their offices to obtain the direct to consumer (DTC) advertised drugs.

Financial incentives and conflicts abound in pediatrics as well. Major streams of income come from “wellness” visits, a euphemism for infants and children being brought into the pediatrician’s office, in order to receive the closely followed CDC mandated childhood vaccine schedule. In addition to the steady foot traffic generated by the vaccine schedule, pediatricians are rewarded financial incentives per fully vaccinated child in their practice by insurance companies.

Neutering the regulatory bodies

Equally disturbing, pharma has strategically and systematically neutered regulatory bodies such as the CDC and FDA, through a constant cross-pollination of industry and government heads. This revolving door has expressly created ever deeper conflicts of interest and blurred lines of duty. For example, Julie Gerberding, the former director of the CDC (2002-2009), joined Merck in January 2010 as the president of Merck’s vaccines department. In fact, this revolving door appears to be quite a prevalent phenomenon. Dr. Presad, an oncologist from Oregon Health and Science University discovered: “a quarter of the Food and Drug Administration employees who approved cancer and hematology drugs from 2001 through 2010 left the agency and now work or consult for pharmaceutical companies”.

In addition, the Associated Press and Center for Public Integrity, show drug companies and allied advocates have an army of lobbyists in all 50 states and have spent more than $880 million on lobbying and political contributions at the state and federal level over the past decade. The opioid lobby, for example, contributed to 7,100 candidates for state level offices.

These unorthodox, forged relationships, all together, serve as a secure and impervious interconnected web for pharma to wield more influence and power as it creates an ever more captive audience for its products.

Extended reach

Pharma’s reach also extends into media and science garnered through strategic financial entanglements.  The U.S. and New Zealand are two of the only countries that permit drug makers to advertise their products directly to consumers, a practice that is illegal or frowned upon in the rest of the globe. As previously discussed a large portion of the revenue for the mainstream media, (up to 70%) in the U.S. comes from pharmaceutical advertisement: “Just considering television, 187 commercials for about 70 prescription medications have collectively aired almost half a million times since the start of 2018, and to do that, drug companies shelled out $2.8 billion”.

Lastly, most of the clinical safety trials performed on vaccines and drugs is performed by institutionalized scientists who are on the industry payroll, and the FDA is increasingly approving and fast-tracking drugs despite dangerous or inconclusive evidence that they are either safe or effective. These unorthodox, forged relationships, all together, serve as a secure and impervious interconnected web for pharma to wield more influence and power as it creates an ever more captive audience for its products. This behemoth power’s next move is the fierce state-by-state push to remove exemptions and the basic human right to informed consent. The last barrier to pharma’s complete unadulterated power is removing human autonomy and the ability to decide for one’s self and family what medical interventions are beneficial and which ones may be rife with potential risk and little benefit.  Any rudimentary perusal of the main vaccine makers’ track record, Merck, GSK, Pfizer and Sanofi (The BIG 4), will illuminate a sordid history of criminal behavior with $billions paid for fines, otherwise known “as the cost of doing business”.

Since Tuesday, March 19, 2019, the auction of frequencies for the new 5G mobile communications standard has been in progress in Germany. Frequencies in the 2 gigahertz band and in the 3.6 gigahertz band will be allocated. Compared to the other mobile radio generations, 5G will emit significantly shorter microwaves. Data should be transmitted at least a hundred times faster than with the current 4G networks. While 5G is being promoted as a future technology with a huge growth market, many people are worried about what this high-frequency microwave radiation will mean in terms of radiation exposure for humans, animals and nature. One of them, who has been intensively involved with the dangers of microwave technologies, is the British microwave expert Dr. Barrie Trower, a former specialist of the Royal Navy for the development of microwave weapons. Klagemauer.TV was able to conduct a telephone interview with Dr. Barrie Trower about questions on 5G and microwave radiation. In this first part of the interview he reports on warfare with microwaves, which have been used since 1949. According to Dr. Trower, very short-wave microwaves such as 5G, also known as millimeter waves, can cause severe damage to brain and nerves in humans. In his military days he compiled a list of about 60 different impulse frequencies, which can cause around 200 different diseases in humans. Nowadays the list has increased from 60 to about 750 different impulse frequencies. These have an effect on the approximately 1500 proven biological structures in the human body. The combined effects of the damaging frequencies have not yet been taken into account. Dr. Trower also explains why microwave radiation can cause cancer. He also explains how animals and especially insects are endangered. However, 80% of them pollinate our plants and thus ensure our food supply worldwide. Experiments have shown that microwaves destroy up to 90% of insect species within a few generations. The dramatic absence of insects already last year is a frightening testimony to this. OSPRI’S planning process is supposed to include stakeholder meetings (isn’t that the affected community?) and consultation with landowners, Iwi, and government agencies.

Well the community at Luggate, less than 1 km from the imminent Alice Burn East aerial 1080 drop zone, did not get a meeting. However we are told nine Iwi representatives have been consulted (really ?!) but we are not allowed to know who they are or where they live.What a very strange state of affairs !

1080 IN WATER – AN EXPLANATION

“Safe as a cup of tea…salt and vinegar chips…..disappears….dissolves…etc.”

These are the words of pro-1080 spin by those with vested interests or those whose money depends on their bureaucratic jobs, and all are unscientific lies.

The better words to think of are “soluble, solute, solvent, and solution.” A universal solvent is water, and if 1080 toxin is the solute, the number of parts per million or trillion the toxin will be diluted to will depend on a number of factors.

For example:

A bait lying in a pond of water in the bush will be a significant solute in a small body of solvent and the solution would be highly toxic.

A bait resting in a fast flowing bouldery river bed will be leaching its toxin but the solute does not disappear. The atom and molecules remain.

Temperature is the other factor (other than the solute/solvent equation) that is considered. We do know with 1080 that micro-organisms can break down 1080 over time, but only in higher temperatures and with high dilution.

In the meantime even 1080 toxin in parts per trillion can affect reproductive and mitochondrial health. 1080 is a synthetic poison that is a teratogen (i.e. an agent or factor which causes malformation of an embryo). It is also deceptively colourless and odourless. 1080 anywhere near water especially
where there are colder temperatures, (most of NZ) or not enough water (the solvent) to adequately dilute the toxin, (the solute) is simply dangerous.

NZ’s Tokoroa is hiring a shooter to cull feral cats – watch out for your cat

Remember, all non native species to go … we’ve been hearing murmurs of doing away with cats for some time now, thanks particularly to Gareth Morgan. In Aussie they’re dropping 1080 laced sausages for them. Moving along everywhere isn’t it. Still, shooting them in a built up area is hardly responsible is it? EWR

A controlled cat culling in a South Waikato town in which “feral cats” were shot has alarmed nearby residents who say it’s unsafe to be shooting in such a built up area.

There were also concerns that their own pets could easily have been mistakenly shot.

Residents in Tokoroa’s Clyde St, which has a primary school and kindergarten, were horrified to learn numerous so-called feral cats had recently been shot in the area.

Senior Sergeant Jason Henderson confirmed a professional pest controller had shot the cats with an air rifle designed for pest control purposes.

He’s believed to have been hired by a local agency although who is behind the cull is mystery. Local shopkeepers, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), South Waikato District Council, and kindergarten have all denied being involved. Staff at the school said they were also not aware of the incident.

“As part of his processes he notified police of his activities which is done by all professionals working in the pest control industry but we do not give ‘permission’ … because there is no ‘permission’ to be given,” Henderson said.

“As professionals it is up to them to ensure all safety measures, appropriate equipment and considerations are taken into account.”

But residents spoken to by Stuff said they had no idea the operation was to take place.

“We’ve got a little kitten and although other cats do come around I wouldn’t go around shooting them,” he said.

“I’ve heard talk that an elderly couple in the street reported them which led to it being organised. It is very concerning.”

Community Animal Rescue and Education (CARE) operations manager Helen Rabinska was shocked on hearing cats in a residential area had been killed by a pest controller.

“There is no way a pest controller would be able to tell the difference between an unowned cat and one that has an owner,” she said.

“Legally a cat is someone’s property just like a car or television. You can not just go around shooting cats,” she said.

SPCA chief scientific officer Doctor Arnja Dale said the society was not informed about the planned cull.

“The SPCA is not, and has never been, a pest control agency and did not give permission for the culling of any cats, nor did we play any part in it,” she said

“If these cats were in contact with human habitation then they are stray cats, rather than feral,” she said.

South Waikato District Council communications manager Kerry Fabrie said the council was not involved and was powerless to intervene.

“There is no legislation governing cats, unlike the Dog Control Act which governs dogs which we enact,” she said.

Henderson said legal action was unlikely.

“Having spoken to the pest control contractor involved in this incident I am confident he covered off all his requirements,” he said.

Eleven thousand dollars a year for a box? And your government happily subsidizes these rents to the sharks. Same way they draw the unfortunate homeless into thousands of dollars of (depressing) debt for residing in motels when that money could have been loaned towards a house.

Our recent inquiries are revealing the demolition (if you call bulldozing demolition) of state homes as we speak still. Taken out at around three or more at a time. Perfectly good homes. A post will be coming on that but folk tell me they are observing homes sitting empty for up to 18 months still since a loved one died. Also stories of people evicted for no good reason, or purportedly for the building of new homes, with none appearing up to a year later.

This is predatory, property developers’ heaven basically. Where anything goes & by some accounts you even choose which race you’d prefer in your slums. More to come. EWR

Geneva (UNHCR)* – Yet again, wars, violence and persecution have driven record numbers of people from their homes worldwide, according to the latest annual study released on 19 June 2019 by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.

The yearly Global Trends report found that 70.8 million children, women and men were forcibly displaced at the close of 2018, the highest number in the organization’s almost 70-year history.
