Research suggests that women who live in areas with high levels of external night/street lights have a higher risk of breast cancer.

The results of several studies suggest that women who work at night — factory workers, doctors, nurses, and police officers, for example — have a higher risk of breast cancer compared to women who work during the day. Other research suggests that women who live in areas with high levels of external light at night (street lights, for example) have a higher risk of breast cancer.

Researchers think that this increase in risk is linked to melatonin levels. Melatonin is a hormone that plays a role in regulating the body’s sleep cycle. Melatonin production peaks at night and is lower during the day when your eyes register light exposure. When women work at night or if they’re exposed to external light at night, their melatonin levels tend to stay low.

Stanford Study: A Clear Link Between Breast Cancer Chemo, Chemo Brain and Brain Abnormalities

By

A breast cancer diagnosis can be one of the most stressful experiences of a person’s life. The decisions related to course of treatment are important and intensely personal. Doctors, family members and others may chime in, but only YOU know what is right for you. If you are thinking about chemotherapy, it is up to you to also know about the risks on all levels, including to mental health.

Chemo Brain and Chemotherapy Side Effects: What’s Really Going On?

You have probably heard of the term “chemo brain.” It is a light-hearted term for a potentially serious problem. Also known as “chemo fog,” chemo brain usually occurs during or shortly after chemotherapy treatments of any kind and can have the following effects:

-confusion

-mental fatigue

-difficulty learning new skills

-disorganization

-short-term memory impairment

-shortened attention span

-difficulty with verbal communication/forming words

-taking a long time to complete tasks

The Mayo Clinic states that “[i]t’s unlikely that chemotherapy is the sole cause of concentration and memory problems in cancer survivors.” Recent research, however, has begun to pinpoint the exact mechanisms linking non-brain tumor neurological abnormalities to chemotherapy treatments, including those used for breast cancer.

Stanford Study: Changes in Thinking Seen in Breast Cancer Chemotherapy Patients

The biggest and most significant study to break new ground in this regard was conducted in 2011 by Stanford University researchers with support by the National Institutes of Health. The study built on earlier research and focused on breast cancer patients who had chemotherapy and surgery compared to those who just had surgery. The researchers also compared these two groups to women who did not have breast cancer.

After self-evaluations and functional MRI results were tallied, the Stanford study showed a direct correlation between those women who underwent chemotherapy and specific kinds of cognitive difficulty. In particular, it showed reduced functionality in the prefrontal cortex. This is the area of the brain that is responsible for cognitive behavior, decision making and social behavior. In card-sorting tasks, the women effected by chemotherapy made more errors and took longer to complete the task than women in the other groups.

Chemotherapy Losing (Lost?) Its Luster

Story at-a-glance

  • Research dating back over a decade suggests many women with breast cancer can opt for gentler versions of chemotherapy, or skip it altogether, without harming their chances of recovery
  • According to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), many cancer patients are being overtreated to their detriment; an estimated 70 percent of women with early stage breast cancer probably do not need chemotherapy, and fare just as well without it
  • The Oncotype DX test can help determine whether a breast cancer patient might benefit from chemo by measuring the activity of 21 genes involved in cancer recurrence
  • According to ASCO’s findings, women with estrogen-sensitive breast cancer that test negative for HER2, and whose tumors are smaller than 5 centimeters, have not spread to the lymph nodes, and have an Oncotype DX score between 11 and 25, can forgo chemo
  • An increasing number of cancer patients are now electing not to use chemo. A recent survey found the overall use of chemo declined from 34.5 to 21.3 percent between 2013 and 2015

By Dr. Mercola

Surgery, drugs and radiation — aka the “cut, poison, burn” strategy — are typically the only solutions offered by most conventional oncologists to treat cancer, and upon receiving a cancer diagnosis most people are willing to do just about anything to get better. Unfortunately, the standard of care for cancer is not necessarily the most effective.

Research dating back over a decade suggests many women with breast cancer can opt for gentler versions of chemotherapy, or skip it altogether, without harming their chances of recovery. One 2007 study found some breast cancer patients had better outcomes when given Taxotere, a milder chemotherapy drug than Adriamycin, which had been the standard for decades.1

Another suggested the Oncotype DX test2,3 may be able to help determine whether a breast cancer patient might benefit from chemo by measuring the activity of 21 genes involved in cancer recurrence. At the time, Dr. Eric Winer of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston said,4 “We are backing off on chemotherapy and using chemotherapy more selectively.” Now, a number of additional studies have come to the same conclusion: Many breast cancer patients do not need chemotherapy, and have better outcomes without it.

Many Cancer Patients Fare Better Without Chemo

According to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), many cancer patients are being overtreated to their detriment; an estimated 70 percent of women with early stage breast cancer probably do not need chemotherapy, and fare just as well without it.5 As reported by NPR:6

“One dramatic example revealed at the [2018 ASCO] meeting relates to the most common form of breast cancer, known as hormone-positive, HER-2 negative disease. For many women who have this diagnosis, but for whom the disease has not spread to lymph nodes, a new study7,8 finds that anti-hormone treatment after surgery is enough, and women won’t benefit from rounds of toxic and uncomfortable chemotherapy.

Treatment of breast cancer for this large group of women will become easier. And for the many women who already choose not to undertake chemotherapy, they can be reassured that it’s the right call. Likewise, researchers from France presented evidence that people with severe colon cancer don’t benefit from a common treatment, which involves heated chemotherapy administered at the time of surgery.

This treatment has been in use for 15 years, without good evidence that it actually works … The study9 of 265 patients found that it didn’t work … The study is ‘an excellent example of how less is more,’ when it comes to certain cancer treatments, says Dr. Andrew Epstein, an oncologist from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center who spoke on behalf of ASCO.”

7 things your oncologist will never tell you

The ‘Deadly Breast Cancer Gene’ is a Myth, Lancet Study Confirms

Sayer Ji, Green Med Info
Waking Times

new Lancet Oncology study, reported widely in the mainstream media, confirms that the so-called “breast cancer genes,” i.e. BRCA1/2, do not have the power to determine breast cancer survival outcomes, as widely believed by the medical profession.

The study titled, “Germline BRCA mutation and outcome in young-onset breast cancer (POSH): a prospective cohort study,” found,

“[There is] no significant difference in overall survival or distant disease-free survival between patients carrying a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation and patients without these mutations after a diagnosis of breast cancer.”

The BBC broke down the study’s findings in greater detail, in their online article titled, “Breast cancer survival ‘unaffected by faulty gene‘”

“The study, published in The Lancet Oncology, found 12% of 2,733 women aged 18 to 40 treated for breast cancer at 127 hospitals across the UK between 2000 and 2008 had a BRCA mutation.

The women’s medical records were tracked for up to 10 years.

During this time, 651 of the women died from breast cancer, and those with the BRCA mutation were equally likely to have survived at the two-, five- and 10-year mark as those without the genetic mutation.

This was not affected by the women’s body mass index or ethnicity.

About a third of those with the BRCA mutation had a double mastectomy to remove both breasts after being diagnosed with cancer. This surgery did not appear to improve their chances of survival at the 10-year mark.”

The study has powerful implications for the future of breast screening programs and the standard of care for ‘breast cancer’ patients. So powerful is the belief that BRCA genes ’cause’ breast cancer, that millions around the world consider it fact. Celebrities like Angelina Jolie have added fuel to the fire of this dangerous myth, by electing to have her breasts removed ‘prophylactically’ due to her BRCA status and the recommendations of her physicians. I discussed questionable nature of this decision in a previous article titled, Did Angelina Jolie Make A Mistake By Acting On The ‘Breast Cancer Gene’ Theory? I elaborated further on the topic in an article titled, “Pinkwashing Hell: Breast Removal as a Form of ‘Prevention‘.”

Chemotherapy side effects enable cancer cells to spread from breast to lungs

More bad news on the chemo front. There are Health professionals who say it only works 3% of the time anyway. Research the alternative solutions others have found to be successful. There’s plenty of evidence for their success being way beyond 3%. I know where I’d be putting my money. See our Cancer pages at the main menu. Don’t wait til after you get the diagnosis. Be prepared.

(NaturalHealth365) Most people are aware that chemotherapy, a primary cancer treatment, can cause harsh chemotherapy side effects. However, now research by Tsonwin Hai and his team of scientists is showing that chemotherapy can actually trigger cellular responses that lead to the spread of more cancer in adjacent areas.

Breast cancer survival rates have been improving in recent years. However, this news that chemotherapy can actually promote the spread of cancer would make it by far one of the most disturbing chemotherapy side effects ever documented.

Common chemotherapy treatment triggers Atf3 gene, increasing cancer-related cellular stress

The researchers, working out of the Ohio State University in Columbus biological chemistry and pharmacology department, found that chemotherapy used as a treatment for breast cancer has a counterintuitive effect which increases the risk of metastasis instead of reducing it as intended.

Past studies had also suggested that chemo can cause cellular changes in both humans and mice with breast cancer. The Ohio State University researchers decided to dig deeper. The team studied the drug paclitaxel, one of the most common frontline chemotherapy treatments used for breast, lung and ovarian cancer. Specifically, they looked at the relationship of breast cancer to the closest organs, the lungs, when treated with paclitaxel.

Mice were studied as well as existing data from breast cancer patients. They found that persons who received paclitaxel chemotherapy treatments had an overexpresssed Atf3 gene. The Atf3 gene is a transcription factor that’s known to be activated by stress and connected with the cellular stress mechanism.

Researchers stunned by pro-cancer side effects of commonly-used drugs

The Atf3 gene is commonly expressed found in a wide variety of cancer cells. By contrast, persons who did not receive chemo did not show an overexpression of this stress gene. The findings indicate paclitaxel can actually have a carcinogenic effect through the activation of this gene.

Women with breast cancer have 50% -60% higher levels of chlorination byproducts in their breast tissue than women without breast cancer – thanks to our authorities

We’ve been hearing this message on chlorine a lot lately. Sadly it’s well installed in many (most?) water supplies with little hope of getting it removed. If it’s not chlorine it’s fluoride, both poisonous chemicals. It’s government (corporation) approved. (Like your Local Govt, Central Govt is also a business folks so their primary focus is profits, not as you’d thought, you, the tax/rate payer). This is why their CEs are paid ‘modest’ salaries like a quarter of a million dollars and higher. Seems at this stage your only hope is to filter or distill it out yourself at very great cost. But whatever you do, protect yourself and remove it somehow anyway. With these kinds of health risks it’s imperative. (Thanks to thecontrail for the link)

Showering in chlorinated waters poses a greater risk to your health than drinking it … your skin pores allow it to travel straight into your bloodstream

One of the most shocking components to all of these studies is that up to 2/3s of our harmful exposure to chlorine is due to inhalation of steam and skin absorption while showering

CHLORINATED SHOWERS & BATHS KILL GUT FLORA

It makes intuitive sense that drinking chlorinated water can create imbalances in your intestinal flora. We know that chlorine will kill many of the good bacteria and microbes that live symbiotically with us in our gut. These good bacteria help us digest our food, keeping us serene and healthy. But most of us fail to take this thought to it’s logical end. I know I did.

You see, I thought that if I just drank filtered water, I’d have my bases covered. It never even occurred to me that the chlorine in my shower and bath water could be just as damaging, if not more so. That’s because your skin is your largest organ, and it’s naturally gifted with the ability to absorb both nutrients and toxins.

Chlorine from drinking water can enter your body in several ways, including ingestion. You also inhale chloroform, a byproduct of chlorine, when you take a hot shower or bath. According to an article from Science News, researchers found increases in chloroform in study participants’ lungs of about 2.7ppb after a 10-minute shower. Warm water also further opens pores, so the combination of what your skin absorbs and your lungs inhale during a 10-minute shower is greater than the amount you would ingest drinking eight glasses of water from the same tap. In fact, studies at the University of Pittsburgh found less chemical exposure from ingesting chlorinated water than from showering or washing clothes in it. The study found that, on average, absorption through the skin was responsible for 64 percent of waterborne contaminants that enter the human body.

(source)

Karmen from ShowerHeadly, urges us to consider that, “not only is it dangerous to drink chlorinated water, but it’s even more dangerous to shower or bathe in it.” Even the EPA’s own scientists agree:

There is a lot of well founded concern about chlorine. When chlorine is added to our water, it combines with other natural compounds to form Trihalomethanes (chlorination byproducts), or THMs. These chlorine byproducts trigger the production of free radicals in the body, causing cell damage, and are highly carcinogenic. “Although concentrations of these carcinogens (THMs) are low, it is precisely these low levels that cancer scientists believe are responsible for the majority of human cancers in the United States“. The Environmental Defense Fund

Simply stated chlorine is a pesticide, as defined by the U.S. EPA, who’s sole purpose is to kill living organisms. When we consume water containing chlorine, it kills some part of us, destroying cells and tissue inside our body. Dr. Robert Carlson, a highly respected University of Minnesota researcher who’s work is sponsored by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency, sums it up by claiming , “the chlorine problem is similar to that of air pollution”, and adds that “chlorine is the greatest crippler and killer of modern times!”

Medical bombshell: Chemotherapy found to spread cancer (from Albert Einstein Coll of Med)

(Natural News) New research conducted at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University has found that chemotherapy spreads cancer throughout the body, causing a sharp increase in cancer cells circulating throughout the body (including the lungs).

A summary of the study reports that “the authors discovered that several types of chemotherapy can increase the amounts of TMEM complexes and circulating tumor cells in the bloodstream.” It concludes that “chemotherapy, despite decreasing tumor size, increases the risk of metastatic dissemination.”

Chemotherapy spreads cancer, generating repeat business for the for-profit cancer industry

In other words, even though chemotherapy “shrinks tumors,” it’s also spreading

Led by Dr. George Karagiannis, the research focused on chemotherapy treatment of breast cancer, but further studies plan to see how chemotherapy might also spread cancers of other tissues, too. The research was published in Science Translational Medicine and is entitled Neoadjuvant chemotherapy induces breast cancer metastasis through a TMEM-mediated mechanism

cancer throughout the body, functioning as a kind of activation for future cancer (that just so happens to generate repeat business for the cancer industry, of course).

A Breast Cancer Survivor Who Declined Chemo & Mastectomy Enrages Her Doctor

From truthkings.com

When Theresa DiNallo was diagnosed with breast cancer, her world was turned upside down. Like most women who are diagnosed with the deadly illness, life changes drastically. According to BreastCancer.org, 12% of all women will develop breast cancer.  246,660 new cases are expected this year alone. Breast cancer is serious business to those diagnosed with it as well as a profitable business to pharmaceutical companies.

“After completing a mammogram, they called me and put it very delicately, saying they think there is a mass in a certain area,” DiNallo told news-herald.com. “That’s when I immediately got scared and I remember being petrified the whole time.”

Theresa was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. Theresa was immediately confronted with all the generic options, such as chemotherapy, she, however, chose to be more forward-thinking and started investigating. One of her first findings was that poor nutrition and alcohol use highly increased cancer risks. She also noted that fat-free, sugar-free and low-fat diet items were laden with dangerous chemicals. Of course, the medical world gave her the “there is no definite cause” company line.

Endocrine Disruptor In Nail Polishes Gets Into Women’s Bodies

by Johanna Congleton,

Senior Scientist, Environmental Working Group (EWG)

“… a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment …”

“It’s not surprising that many nail polishes contain potentially toxic chemicals. Now a study conducted by researchers at Duke University and EWG finds that at least one of those chemicals could be ending up in your body.

Triphenyl phosphate, or TPHP, a suspected endocrine-disrupting chemical, is commonly used to make plastics and as a fire retardant in foam furniture. And if you wear nail polish, it could be in your body too.

Researchers at Duke University tested the urine of 26 women …”

COMMENT:

Remember, the effects of these tiny amounts of chemicals may not show up in your health for many years. The accumulation is slow … but sure. Read a book called ‘The Politics of Cancer’ by Dr Samuel Epstein written long ago, in the 1970s in fact. Yes, it was known way back then that environmental factors played a large part in our vulnerability to cancer but the health industry continues to act mystified and carries on asking for your donations to research endlessly for cures. There are in fact many cancer fighting protocols that have been successful but you are never going to hear about them in mainstream media. Do some research … there is plenty of information out there now … on the internet that is.  And, additionally, there are alternative products you can buy … without the toxic additives … they may cost a little more, like organic food, however you will save in medical bills later.

Covering Up The Causes of Breast Cancer Since 1985: AstraZeneca’s BCAM

Written By:

Sayer Ji, Founder  GreenMedInfo

“Did you know that AstraZeneca, manufacturer of two blockbuster breast cancer drugs (one of which is classified as a known human carcinogen), is behind Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

Why is it, do you think, that during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) you never hear the word “carcinogen” mentioned, but are barraged a million times over by the word “cure”?

Truth be told, BCAM should be renamed Breast Cancer Un-Awareness Month, as it has nothing to do with generating awareness about the true causes and solutions for the breast cancer epidemic and everything to do with making the public focus on a presumably not-yet-existent “cure” to be produced through the pharmaceutical pipeline somewhere off in the future only after enough money is raised…”

chemotherapy-448578_1280Unbelievably for most (myself included when this all first dawned on me as reality) there are many many cures for cancer. The industry (Big Pharma) does not want you to learn about them… to the extent they suppress, vilify and debunk them. All they will offer you is chemotherapy which the health professionals who are abandoning the standard medical model will tell you, shortens your lifespan. Watch the series of documentaries on thetruthaboutcancer website and learn that oncologists say you live longer doing nothing rather than choosing chemo.

However, you need to read, read and listen. Listen to the medical doctors who share their expert knowledge on this. Our website page on cancer has links to videos and sites for you to begin your own research. (There are NZ success stories of how folks beat cancer after chemo failed). You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to be prepared. Statistics are one in three now for cancer, and in some places, one in two.

Here is a short clip for you to start with by Dr Leonard Coldwell:
