Scientist warns of wireless threat from smart meters, cellphones
A renowned Canadian scientist and expert in molecular oncology says hundreds of millions of residents around the world are being “blanketed in an electromagnetic smog” caused by wireless devices such as smart meters and the potential health care consequences will be staggering.
Speaking in front of an audience of more than 100 residents from across the South Okanagan at the Oliver Community Centre this past Saturday morning, Dr. Malcolm Paterson gave a detailed two-hour presentation – following by an extended question and answer period – about the concerns he shares with fellow scientists and the medical community about the impact of wireless technology on human health.
Paterson’s presentation was entitled The Electromagnetic Age: A Sleeping Giant?
The level of radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic frequency(EMF) technology impacting the lives of hundreds of millions of residents around the world is 3,000 times higher than levels measured back in 1980, said Paterson, who has given four previous similar presentations in the South Okanagan over the past three weeks.
Paterson has a Masters degree in Science from Queen’s University in Kingston and attained his PhD in molecular oncology in the United States.
Health Canada’s current measurement system to determine the impact of wireless technology – including smart meters and cellphones – is called Safety Code 6, said Paterson.

Enough to get you reading? This topic deserves your attention. Research it well to make informed decisions about your loved ones. For the older ones among us, vaccines have changed somewhat since we were young. I, like most mums of my era, would not think of skipping vaccinations. Information that’s come to light in the last decade however has made me change my mind on that. Looking back on that era, I’ve been told a respected GP in our area at the time (rural NZ) did not vaccinate his children. That was the 1980s. He clearly knew more than we the public knew. It appears Dr Oz declines flu vaccinations for his children. We never hear in the mainstream media of the vaccine injuries … they are there and the industries pay out damages for them every year. Any moves to tighten the controls on the liberal use of carcinogenic herbicides/pesticides, especially in public places, is a good move, and labeling products as potentially carcinogenic is definitely a move in the right direction.

Power companies get up to about US$13 billion in subsidies from the government to build a nuclear power plant.
Once the location is chosen the power company showers the locals with money. They take the guys to hostess bars, the old people to hot springs. Wine and dine! Wine and dine! And they lie to them about the nuclear plant being good for the local economy. They actually have a manual on how to use money to divide the community into supporters and opponents. Fishermen even sell off their fishing rights for enormous sums. Then there’s a PR barrage that’s nothing but propaganda about safety measures and secret dangerous experiments. Where does the money come from for all that? From your taxes! This is how Japan has aggressively constructed 59 nuclear power plants. That means we are now living with over 50 time bombs strapped to our bodies. If even one of them blows up the entire area around it becomes uninhabitable for all living things, and contamination slowly spreads all over. That’s not pleasant to imagine. Japan built these reactors under the banner of peacefully using nuclear power. But the real reason is that the government wants nuclear weapons.
Right now in Kaminoseki Town in Yamaguchi, Chugoku Electric Power wants to build what would be two of Japan’s largest nuclear reactors, filling in ocean along the beautiful Tanoura coast. For thirty years the people of nearby Iwai Island have fought these plans. They devoted their lives to this cause, and they stopped the construction. These people lived in harmony with their island’s verdant nature for generations. It’s an amazing place with history and wide-open nature. But Chugoku Power wants to ignore all that and force their plans through. ‘Fukushima?’ they say. ‘We didn’t have anything to do with that.’ until only recently they were working on that plant every day. How stupid! And now other companies that shut down their nuclear plants after Fukushma want to restart them. ‘They’re safe’ they say. What do you mean safe? Did a meltdown happen inside your heads? They are terminally insane. With all that chanting of ‘it’s safe, it’s safe’, they’ve brainwashed themselves like people in a religious cult. What idiots! But we’ve been deceived by those idiots, which makes us idiots too. We’re completely caught in their trap! A lot of people on Twitter & the Internet nit-pick what the anti-nuclear people say, but those shallow types don’t understand the situation at all. It’s pathetic! Only now have they started mentioning plutonium, the most dangerous substance in the world. Fukushima reactor no 3 is a plutonium- thermal reactor, the kind promoted in the Kansai Power commercials starring baseball coach Sen’ichi Hoshino. The government is hiding so much, and that’s just what they’re hiding about nuclear power. Those recent planned power outages were outrageous. They intentionally did that to fool people into believing they need nuclear power. People died because of those outages, but what’s the point? It is well documented what GMOs do to the human body (see videos in this article) let alone the animals. (Liver disease is one effect). However, here we see how Monsanto (and WHO) manage to hoodwink the public by ensuring the testing period required is not long enough for any health effects to emerge … yet. As Prof Seralini discovered in his two year long research with lab rats. As to the animals, here in NZ our stock (who knows how much) is being fed GE feed. Two producers I’ve contacted here in NZ who are particularly more humane in their animal treatment couldn’t rule out some of the cheaper feed they acquire (making their businesses economically viable) ‘may’ contain GMOs given they are soy products. So … if they admit they possibly are feeding their stock GE food, then what of the larger factory farmed livestock where cost cutting is a primary objective? You can bet your bottom dollar they will be munching on GE feed. The Green Party has drawn this to the public’s attention numerous times.

Cancer statistics are now one in three. That is one in every three persons currently in NZ will be diagnosed with cancer every year. I have heard anecdotally that in America it is one in every two males, and one in three females.
Cancer was the most common cause of death for both males and females in New Zealand in 2011, accounting for nearly a third of all deaths.
8891 people had cancer recorded as their underlying cause of death; 52.3% of these were male.

These statistics are shocking. With such a high rate nearly everybody we care about in one way or another has watched a friend or relative suffering with this plague … or once removed even. I know I have had two friends and three close relatives taken, plus I’ve seen several extended family members also taken, not close to me personally but to those I love.
The thing is, when all hope is gone and chemo is not working, there are alternatives. I was inspired recently by both Allan Smith’s and Anton Kuraia’s testimonies of healing through IV Vitamin C (both are here on the site), and since they are both NZ men I decided to forearm myself should this dreaded verdict, the big C, ever strike my family again. There are Medical Doctors in our country who will administer Vitamin C intravenously and a google search will locate them for you. There are many other treatments also that people have used successfully. On one of the sites featured in the link there are treatments that range from ‘dirt cheap’ to expensive. This is excellent news as not everybody can afford to travel abroad let alone fund the treatment when they get there.

Featuring here, another success story in the health and wellness section. With all the bad news that’s about, we can all do with some good news.
Firstly though, to back up a little, and many of you will identify I’m sure, having seen dear friends and loved ones receive the awful news they have a terminal illness, and seen them pass on after a long struggle, I’m determined to highlight the many stories I’ve heard lately of folks who came through their dark valley with success, giving new hope for others. People who were sent home to plan their funerals, now living full lives again, back working and caring for their families.

I’ve featured on the site two wonderful success stories, one already shared, that of Anton Kuraia, the Northland Police Officer who was cured of cancer using IV Vitamin C. Are councils in bed with Agrichemical companies? Both the Auckland & Rangitikei District Council are favouring chemical weed control over non-chemical, in spite of the heightened health risks highlighted recently by WHO. They cite outdated & incorrect data to support this preference.
Some Aucklanders are currently objecting to a flip flop on their Council’s current weed management policies. A petition has been circulating (and is on FB also if you would like to sign it) calling (like the Rangitikei) for a ban on the use of glyphosate on Auckland’s streets and parks. Some parts of Auckland are chemical free in terms of weed management however not all, and council is doing a u turn on their current policy of minimal chemical use, indicating in their Ten Year Plan a preference for chemical control.
Public areas are sprayed without any warning before, during or after the fact
Auckland’s Weed Management Advisory (a Community-led organization that helped create the Council’s Weed Management Policy 2013 of minimum agrichemical use, which the Council seems intent on doing away with) are also calling for a BAN on Glyphosate and have put a leaked briefing document up on their website. You can read it here. This is the Long Term Plan featuring quotes for alternative methods of weed management as opposed to management with glyphosate, typically, Roundup. Georgina Blackmore, the petition organizer, states that the figures cited should be taken with a pinch of salt … in fact a very large amount of salt. They are using she says, old, inaccurate and misleading information. “Disingenuous” says Auckland councilor John Watson. The Weed Management Advisory has accused the Auckland Council of putting the public at risk. Read their press statement here.
This line is a very familiar tale. Our own Rangitikei District Council cited inaccurate figures when justifying their rejection of glyphosate-free weed management in our public spaces. We had tried to counter this outcome by citing Auckland contractors who are currently employing mechanical weed control methods. The latter stated emphatically that their costs were a marginal 10-15 percent more than Roundup, and expected soon to even match it. Similarly, with the current Auckland scenario cited here, other Auckland contractors are saying their costs are even less than glyphosate.
When the request for tighter parameters and controls around glyphosate spraying was originally put to the RDC, citing the extensive independent research available on the myriad health risks associated with Roundup use, an internal report was requested by RDC on alternative cost-effective weed-control methods. Councilor Lyn Sheridan asked why health effects were not investigated by RDC and the response by CEO Ross McNeill was, ‘…they weren’t asked for’. They are missing the point here.
We need to be asking, why are Councils so bent on, so adamant, about choosing chemical control, and with a chemical that has recently been re-classified by WHO as a Class 2A carcinogen? Claiming there is insufficient proof of health risks is myopic at best.
That statistic is extremely high and surely deserving of closer examination of the research into environmental causes and the elimination of the probable ones?

The thing about Roundup is (and you will hear this in the audio link below) we the public are given no warning in advance of spraying, no signs are put out when they are spraying (so people can walk on it before it’s dry without even knowing) it is sprayed on public walkways where school children walk with no prior warning and it is sometimes sprayed on windy days.

Around a decade ago I began to notice, just by reading labels, that there were many ‘unknowns’ in our personal care products. Then once connected to the internet I began to research in earnest and came upon the Environmental Working Group, an excellent site for checking out suspect chemicals.
The amounts of these chemicals placed in our products are tiny, however they are products we tend to use virtually daily … shampoos, skin care products, household cleaners etc so we cannot over estimate the cumulative effect the chemicals have. And, worse, many of the ingredients are either known or suspected carcinogens. There are also chemicals which, when mixed with others become carcinogenic. Our skin is very absorbent so these chemicals go straight into our bloodstreams. An excellent expose of this scenario is the film ‘The Idiot Cycle’ found on the ‘Chemicals’ page on this site.
Dr Samuel Epstein wrote a book in the 1970s called ‘The Politics of Cancer’. He clearly describes the effects of these chemicals and points out that they are known environmental causes of cancer that folks, including the companies, refuse to seriously acknowledge. As I say frequently here, corporations do lie at times, they do have legal person hood, however they are not like real human beings. If you do doubt this please watch The Corporation film or read the info at the page in the link. It explains all.
Protect yourself and research the ingredients and don’t believe everything the packaging tells you. The claim to ‘organic’, ‘healthy’ and so on on the label guarantees you nothing unless it is legally certified. Companies are now bandying those labels around to look good but the advertising is often deceptive.

Helping New Zealanders fight Cancer Naturally
I’ve added a new page to the site this week on health (titled ‘Health and Wellness’). Featured there is New Zealand man, Anton Kuraia, a Northland Policeman with a young family who, after a course of chemotherapy, was sent home with only four weeks to live. Fortunately, he then heard about IV Vitamin C therapy, and decided to give it a go… amazingly, with success.

His wonderfully encouraging story featured several times in the New Zealand media (links on the Success Stories page) … I found his website, contacted him and asked to feature his story here. The news on Glyphosate is coming regularly since WHO classified it as a Class 2A carcinogen (it probably causes cancer). There was already enough evidence, in my opinion, to ban it anyway, however with the added weight of WHO’s conclusions (based on the previous research) surely it is only a matter of time before Glyphosate goes the same was as DDT and Agent Orange. You may not be aware but the same company responsible for the creation of Glyphosate is also responsible for the creation of those two products and Aspartame as well. Agent Orange was responsible for horrific birth defects still seen today in the Vietnamese population, a result of the US cleansing Vietnam of its defoliation during the Vietnam war. It was also responsible for a raft of health problems and birth defects experienced by our own Kiwi vets, a fact only recently acknowledged by our NZ government, to their shame I might add, given the war ended decades ago.
We in the Rangitikei are urging our council to desist from the use of Glyphosate in the public spaces of our towns. This at least will protect the public, especially our children, from unwitting exposure. These companies spray with no warning, and no signs out to say they are spraying. This is simply because Glyphosate has enjoyed a ‘harmless’ status for decades. The product data sheets however advise no contact with the sprayed foliage until dry, yet there is no way for us to know where they have sprayed. They also indicate the use of gloves and a mask (which nobody wears I note) and yet they don’t see fit to warn our children they are spraying.

We can lessen our risk of contracting cancer by avoiding unnecessary exposure to environmental carcinogens. Currently there are multiple such examples for instance, cell phones, the masts, wi-fi, smart meters, cigarette smoke, food additives, additives to care products … the list goes on. NZ’s current cancer statistics are one in three.
I had a discussion recently with an electrician who has seen the vast changes in our country in the past two decades around how our country is managed, how our councils operate and how our power is delivered to us. The big sell-offs and the descent of our once sovereign nation into the abyss of phenomenal debt. He recalled the former wealth of both the local council and the local power company. You can read about the background to these changes in NZ from the 1980s onwards, all initiated by Rogernomics and the Big Experiment, on the About, Money Trail and Corporation pages… you Kiwis were the guinea pigs to these great ‘economic innovations’ which clearly didn’t work … evidenced by the wider gap between rich and poor and the crippling debt we are in. We were conned. We used to have full employment and no debt. Once upon a time. And we owned our country. It is now owned by all in sundry, from all over the planet.
I asked the electrician his thoughts on Smart Meters. He had no fears whatsoever about them and told me what most call centers will tell you, they are no more harmful than cell phones. I conveyed to him that I had my concerns having watched the doco, Take Back Your Power. I asked him did anybody measure the radiation? … he replied ‘no’. I asked if he would mind watching the doco and giving me his feedback, being a local electrician. No he wasn’t interested at all to watch it.
This is what concerns me … few want to examine the evidence. However, that aside, the uppermost issue here for me is, our choice is being taken away. Correction, has been taken away. Once installed the companies will no longer remove a Smart Meter, even if they failed to secure your consent in the first place to install it. Yes they do just install them when you’re not home if you happen to have a meter on the outside of your house. Be aware if you are home, you have every right to non-consent of installation because they are NOT compulsory. Better still, tape a notice to your meter advising of your non-consent, and notify your power company in writing of the same. Once installed however, if you want the chip removed to prevent the emissions of radiation from remote reading (if it is removable) you pay … anything from $130 and upwards.
Gradually, by little increments, we have been coerced into receiving into our homes, a device that has many question marks over it that are backed by both professional medical opinion and independent scientific research that we would be at our peril to ignore. Here are some dots for you to join. Our cancer rate is now one in three. Why is the medical profession still researching for cures beyond chemo whilst ignoring the compelling research on environmental causes? Why also are they ignoring the natural cures that people are finding out for themselves?
If folks prefer to neither research this for themselves, nor look at the evidence that is available, then be it on their own heads, however, for those of us who do do the research and are aware of the hidden dangers of these devices, we surely must be given the choice to decline? Currently we do have that choice but, as many are aware, we have to insist on that option as we are not being told of it. I can only conclude here … as always … educate yourselves. We live in a different era now. Truth has taken on a new meaning; we need to find out the facts for ourselves. Some important truths here about Genetically Modified Organisms (from GMO Free USA) … and a reminder why we need to eliminate known and suspected carcinogens from our environments. As I repeat often on this site, cancer statistics are now one in three. That is far far too high, and the powers that be need to get serious about eliminating the KNOWN risks, as well as the suspected, instead of acting like cancer is a mystery. It’s not. They are forever searching for cures whilst both ignoring and suppressing the existing cures, and failing to look at the causes, many of which have already been exposed by independent research. Folks are wising up however and seeking alternative help for themselves, as did the Northland man who used IV Vitamin C to cure his cancer (note this man had had all the chemo he could have and was sent home to die). Currently we have an online petition seeking to curtail or stop the spraying of glyphosate (Roundup) in our Rangitikei District’s public places. Glyphosate which is used liberally in our district was recently re classified by WHO as a Class 2A carcinogen, meaning it probably causes cancer. Our Council however continues to ignore the research and WHO’s announcement, whilst on the other hand, many countries are banning it. It is surely wiser to eliminate all known and suspected carcinogens.

Many folks are experiencing health effects today fromEMFs … and many are not aware of the causes. The industry protects business by concealing the exposure warnings in very fine print. It is not about banning the technology so much as learning how to effectively protect ourselves. Children are particularly vulnerable hence the debate that is going on about Wi-Fi in schools. Educate yourself and read the research … and most importantly learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones. More on glyphosate … another nation bans it. Since its reclassification by WHO to a class 2A carcinogen, many countries are moving to protect the public:

The release of already imported stocks has also been stopped. Sirisena, a farmer and ex Health Minister, stated that glyphosate is responsible for the increasing number of chronic kidney disease (CKDu) patients in Sri Lanka and added that the move would protect the Sri Lankan farming community…”
From Natural Society … this article recapitulates the progress so far in terms of recent mounting evidence:
“It’s not just the WHO that has raised the alarm over Monsanto’s Roundup and its devastating effects on human and environmental health. Instead, the WHO announcement was simply the most widely reported on Roundup study that we have seen. Sadly, it’s not even the most concerning.
It was back in September of 2014 that the International Journal of Toxicology published a much more alarming piece on the dangers of Roundup entitled “Glyphosate Commercial Formulation Causes Cytotoxicity, Oxidative Effects, and Apoptosis on Human Cells: Differences With its Active Ingredient.” As you can gather from its name, the study highlighted the multitude of ways in which glyphosate is wreaking havoc on human cells…”
For Kiwis, remember, New Zealand is an avid user of Roundup and glyphosate. It is recommended in our Tertiary Agricultural textbooks, and touted as being completely harmless. Therefore it is sprayed liberally onto pastures and eaten by the stock headed for the market and our consumption. Hence it is found now in human urine, blood and breast milk. It is used by the keepers of our roads and public spaces in towns, by large contractors as well as small.
Educate yourself, read the data and spread the word. There are currently two petitions circulating in NZ, one for Auckland and one for the Rangitikei. I note that one may be coming for all of NZ, the better option really as it is at government level it needs addressing. Councils continue to repeat that glyphosate is government approved. In the meantime however, please consider signing the petitions and stop the ongoing poisoning of our future.

Before Edison’s lightbulb, there was very little electromagnetic radiation in our environment. The levels today are very many times higher than natural background levels and are growing rapidly because of all the new devices that emit this radiation.

Currently in the Rangitikei, as in many other places, Roundup is the herbicide of choice for cleaning up weeds. Recently however, the World Health Organization (WHO) has taken recognition of the decades of independent research that warns of its health risk. WHO is warning people of the fact that it probably causes cancer. Check out the Glyphosate page on this site for further information on that.

Personally I approached the Rangitikei District Council (RDC) twelve months ago to warn them of these dangers and make known to them the vast amount of research that exists linking it with not only cancer but many other illnesses including birth defects. Now, add to this another damning factor … its toxicity to bees. Bees are essential for pollinating our plants. As the poster above conveys,experts confirm that if the bees die off, we humans could well follow. Our toxic environments are destroying the very organisms that ensure the continuation of life on planet earth.
That said, the RDC is not convinced by either the extensive research or any announcements by WHO. Currently in fact, going by the last time I heard them discuss this (March 2015) they are of the opinion that I am the only person in the Rangitikei who is concerned about this. We now have a petition that indicates there are in fact another 97 who are. Good news.
