New research has found that Cannnabidiol is active against Gram-positive bacteria, including those responsible for many serious infections (such as Staphyloccocus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae), with potency similar to that of established antibiotics such as vancomycin or daptomycin. The research is presented at ASM Microbe, the annual meeting of the American Society for Microbiology.
Cannabidiol, the main non-psychoactive chemical compound extracted from cannabis and hemp plants, has been approved by FDA for the treatment of a form of epilepsy, and is being investigated for a number of other medical conditions, including, anxiety, pain and inflammation. While there is limited data to suggest Cannabidiol can kill bacteria, the drug has not been thoroughly investigated for its potential as an antibiotic.

The solar electricity industry is dependent on federal government subsidies for building new capacity. The subsidy consists of a 30% tax credit and the use of a tax scheme called tax equity finance. These subsidies are delivered during the first five years.
For wind, there is subsidy during the first five to ten years resulting from tax equity finance. There is also a production subsidy that lasts for the first ten years.
The other subsidy for wind and solar, not often characterized as a subsidy, is state renewable portfolio laws, or quotas, that require that an increasing portion of a state’s electricity come from renewable sources. Those state mandates result in wind and solar electricity being sold via profitable 25-year power purchase contracts.

DENVER — Just before sunrise Tuesday, the controversial culling of Canada geesecontinued in Denver parks.
Viewer cellphone video shows park rangers rounding up dozens of geese at Garfield Lake Park and placing them in orange crates on the back of a truck.
Denver Parks and Recreation and the USDA have been given permission to capture and kill 2,200 Canada geese, citing safety concerns with goose aggression and with feces in parks.
“I was running here on the path and I got blocked off by some cones,” said Colton Barnhart. “There were a couple guys basically out in little canoes, and they tried to round up as many geese as they could, and they had them sectioned off into orange construction stuff.”

Recently, environmentalist David McDonald contacted HS Safety Compliance in concern over a recent article from Stuff where “Epro operations director Ian Roberts said if they [forestry workers] had touched or even eaten one of the baits it would not have harmed them.” (You can read that article at this link).

Ho-hum. One could almost detect a yawn as the good Doctor passes along all responsibility for this. “Another terrorist/environmentalist”.
I would really like to see these people eat a 1080 pellet in front of us all as proof their smug confidence in its safety is well founded. As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding … in this case, the pellet.
As an addendum I personally would advise that you err on the side of caution & not eat the pellets. Many have previously noted that NZ prefers not to take the route of the precautionary principle. Better to just plow on & sweep any perceived risks (or evidence) under the proverbial carpet.
Please do take a look at our 1080 tab in the main menu, particularly the sub tab, ‘suspected 1080 poisoning cases’. Very enlightening.

One would think that with so many lingering and unanswered questions about the safety of “biosludge” that regulatory authorities would, at the very least, require farmers who use the stuff to provide full, public disclosure in the interest of public safety. But unfortunately this isn’t the case.
According to biosludge truth activist Craig Monk, a local resident of Midlothian, Texas, near Dallas-Fort Worth, farmers and others who apply biosludge to their land are currently not required by laws to disclose this fact – even when their use of biosludge has the very real potential to negatively impact their neighbors.
This lack of transparency has created an ongoing nightmare in Monk’s local community, where biosludge odor and residue is negatively affecting people’s homes and personal property. And because biosludge users are apparently given preferential legal treatment, there’s been very little they can do to stop this toxic onslaught.
