We’re a week behind with Wally’s newsletter. This is from last week, so this week’s will follow shortly. EWR
Nearly all plants start with seeds and the main functions of any plant is to reproduce itself by all means possible, which with many plants means flowering and seeding.
Think about that for a moment; the only purpose of a plant is to reproduce, it does not grow for show, to be eaten, to bathe in sun light, to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, to provide health benefits.
They do all those things but as far as the plant is concerned it just wants to produce more of its own species and with each generation in a natural setting to become a stronger better specimen. If all conditions to grow in are good then a plant will germinate from seed slowly move to maturity and then flower to produce seeds and die if an annual, or have a rest if a perennial, to repeat again flowering in its next cycle.
A few such as bananas, no longer produce seeds in its fruit though you can see where the seeds used to be in the cross section of some bananas. By the way there are over a thousand different types of bananas in 50 sub groups. Bananas sucker or produce off sets which over time would form a clump. Gardeners break up clumps and plant separately each sucker. Bananas flower and as the flower emerges it produces ‘hands’ which are the banana fruit-to-be.
As gardeners your most important job is to either encourage seeds from the plants that you want and prevent seeds on any plants you do not want. When a plant’s life is threatened it will immediately go to seed even if it is still a baby plant. We see that in summer in waste areas such as gravel driveways where weed seeds germinate and grow and if there is not going to be any rain for some time (plants know this) they will quickly go to seed while there is still enough moisture to do so before they dehydrate and die. They are only a small replica of what they would be in better conditions. The seeds will remain in the dust and dirt waiting for rains to come and then germinate. In gardens where you are watering regularly the same weeds (they realise this) will grow to normal maturity before flowering and seeding. The old proverb applies ‘One year seeding is seven years weeding’.
There are major changes happening in the human world the beginnings of which are now seen, broken supply chains, manufacture closures and hyper inflation. Not good outlooks but you can prepare yourself to have the basics of life, Food, Water and Shelter.
More people are gardening and I am sure more will join us as the cost of food sources rise.
Which brings us back to the topic, Seeds.
The knowledge here is not new but was learned thousands of years ago and is even mentioned in the Bible. You grow a crop shall we say of lettuce, a quick and easy crop to grow all year round, fast to grow in summer with long daylight hours, but slow to grow in winter when we are down to about only 8 hours of sunlight a day. You plant ten lettuces, if you have chicken manure available you put a nice blob of it into the planting hole, put a little soil over it and in with your seedling. I have never seen lettuce grow so fast (in the summer time) with a half a cup of chicken manure in the root zone. Spray the crop every week or two with Magic Botanic Liquid (MBL) it will about double the size of the harvest.
Then you watch the crop’s progress as they head to maturity and you select one which you think is the best of the crop. You do not harvest that lettuce instead you let it stay on long after its fellows have been eaten so it goes to flower and then seeds. You will harvest more seeds than you are likely able to use in a life time if you harvest all.
When the seeds are dry you place them in a plastic bag with their type and date on the bag and you put that bag into a glass jar sealed with lid and into the fridge. You may have a dozen or more varieties of seeds in your jar, each named in their own plastic bags. Keep a few out to sow directly back into your garden or germinate to transplant. (Always best to direct sow)
Now you are going to do the same again; pick the best plant and let it go to seed, collect the seed and plant some for the third crop. Now that you have a new fresh supply of seeds you can give away to family and friends most of the seeds collected from the first crop. It pays to keep a small amount with the date. You are going to repeat the above and likely dependent on conditions where you are, you may have four or more crops a year.
Now an amazing thing happens; you will find that after a few crop cycles using the new seed from the latest crop that you have created a new strain of that plant which has adapted to your growing conditions and will be very superior to the initial plants.
If you are a miser and you only let the worst plant go to seed and you repeat that process crop after crop you will end up with some poor specimens. Vegetable crops that take longer to mature and seed will mean likely only two crops in a year and thus it will be much longer to get to your own superior strain.
(NaturalHealth365) Let’s face it, sugar is extremely prevalent in today’s society. Many of the prepared and processed foods in grocery stores contain an alarming amount of sugar. This is why it’s well worth taking the extra minute or so to read the nutrition label before buying any packaged food item.
We already know the typical dangers of sugar consumption such as obesity, tooth decay, and low energy, but there are many other conditions out there that you may not be aware of.
Excessive sugar intake damages your health in MULTIPLE ways, studies show
Here are seven surprising ways that sugar harms your health.
(NaturalHealth365) Did you know that there are organic spices for diabetics that can help manage your blood sugar better? It is easy to add to any recipe and gives plenty of nutrients and specific health benefits. Many studies suggest that merely half a teaspoon of cinnamon a day can significantly reduce excess blood sugar levels.
But before you run to the health food store to buy cinnamon, don’t forget to add fenugreek, coriander, and clove seeds. These spices give you that extra kick of flavor while, at the same time, helping to stabilize your energy level.
(NaturalHealth365) Alzheimer’s disease, a neurodegenerative condition that impairs memory and cognitive abilities, currently affects over 6 million Americans – and causes the death of 83,000 people every year. Unfortunately, rates of the disease are soaring, with the Alzheimer’s Association predicting that this number will climb to 13 million by the year 2050.
(NaturalHealth365) Approximately 5.4 million Americans are currently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and this number is expected to triple by 2050. In addition, the rate of children with autism is said to be 1 in 50 throughout the United States. What is happening to our collective brain health?
Think about the importance of our memories – which are a crucial part of our social lives. Interacting, carrying a conversation, and participating in everyday tasks require a good functional memory. This is why conditions such as autism and Alzheimer’s cause such concern for caregivers as they worry that their loved ones will forget to turn off a stove or other life-threatening mishaps.
An old Chinese proverb states, “Eating pungent radish and drinking hot tea lets the starved doctors beg on their knees.”1 There’s probably some truth to this saying, as radishes are among the most nutritionally loaded low-calorie vegetables you can enjoy today.2
Most radishes in the U.S. are known for their red skin and round shape, but have you ever tried the long and white Asian variety called daikon?3 Discover the various benefits and culinary uses of daikon, and why it’s worthwhile to add to your diet.
What Is Daikon?
You may know it as an Oriental radish, but daikon (Raphanus sativus var. longipinnatus)4 actually goes by many names, including mooli, Satsuma radish,5 Chinese radish and most notably, Japanese radish.6 In fact, daikon is Japanese for “big root.”7
Daikon is believed to have originated in the Mediterranean regions8 and eventually spread to Asian countries like Japan, China and Korea, where it is utilized in various dishes.9 It is easily distinguished from other radishes by its large, vibrant green leaves and a long white root, resembling a pale carrot. Daikon can grow up to 18 inches long, and weigh 1 to 4 pounds.10
Daikon’s flavor is considered milder and less peppery than other radishes. Served raw, it is subtle and tangy with a crisp and juicy texture. When cooked, it tastes similar to cooked turnips.11
Although the root is the most utilized part of daikon, it is technically a cruciferous vegetable.12 In Asian countries, the root is commonly pickled and eaten as a side dish, or grated, cubed, or thinly sliced for addition to main dishes. Nevertheless, the leaves should not be thrown away, as they offer their own plethora of health benefits.13
You can enjoy daikon sprouts (called “kaiware” by the Japanese), which have a pungent and peppery flavor that adds a kick to sandwiches and salads.14 They are best consumed raw or used as garnish.15
5 Daikon Health Benefits
You can’t go wrong with adding daikon to your favorite meals, as it offers a multitude of nutrients that can be advantageous to your health.
Daikon is known to help boost a weak digestive system.16 A 2017 study also learned that isothiocyanates, which give daikon its peppery and pungent qualities,17 were found to help reduce the risk of breast cancer.18
Daikon also contains considerable amounts of potassium, vitamin C and phosphorus19 — nutrients essential for good health.
While you may think that daikon’s benefits are only available through the root, you’ll be surprised to learn that its leaves have impressive nutritional value, too.20 They’re actually loaded with vitamin A, which is essential for eye health, and vitamin C, iron and calcium.21
Daikon may help optimize your well-being by:
Boosting digestive health — Daikon may help facilitate better digestion of proteins and fats,22 which in turn helps inhibit constipation.23 Its antioxidants were also found to help trigger bile flow,24 which is essential in breaking down and absorbing fats.25
Assisting in detoxification — As a diuretic, daikon may help stimulate urination, which is necessary for keeping the kidneys clean.26
Bolstering your immunity — Daikon’s antibacterial and antifungal properties may help reduce the risk of bone or joint infections, gastroenteritis, meningitis and pneumonia.27
Promoting bone and skin health — Its high calcium content28 may help alleviate osteoporosis.29 The liquid from boiled daikon leaves is also known to help reduce excess skin oils and odors.30
Helping with weight management — Daikon is a low-calorie and low-cholesterol vegetable, but it is high in fiber and many other nutrients1 — qualities that are ideal for people who want to maintain a healthy weight.32
Remember, if you want to reap all of daikon’s health benefits, it’s best to use the entire vegetable.
How to Cook Daikon: Tips to Keep in Mind
As with other radishes, the potential of culinary uses for daikon is endless. It can be cooked multiple ways, as a wonderful addition to your favorite soups, stews or meat dishes. You can roast, slow cook, boil, bake, steam or eat it raw, just as you would with a carrot.33 Daikon also works well as a substitute for recipes that call for other vegetables or other types of radishes, as it’s extremely versatile.34
As mentioned above, daikon leaves should not be thrown away, as they are just as nutritious and flexible as the root. However, they’re best when eaten fresh, ideally on the day they are purchased. Remember to rinse them before adding to your meals.35 If this is not possible, then you can preserve them: Place the leaves in a wire basket and blanch in boiling water, and then freeze.36
Here is a recipe from Cook for Good37 that uses both daikon leaves and root — nothing goes to waste!
I wrote this article a few months ago but as several gardeners recently have been asking how to protect their fruit crops from both Codlin Moth and Guava Moth
I think it is well worth repeating this information. Guava moth is mostly in the upper north island but there has been a few cases in other areas likely as a result of fruit been brought south from infected areas.
So share with family and friends as there is nothing worse than losing your crop to these two pests.
There are two moths in New Zealand that attack fruit namely, Codlin Moth which have apples, pears and walnuts as their host fruit. Guava Moth which has all fruit and nuts as their host.
The Codlin Moth is seasonal active while there is fruit on their host plants but the Guava Moth is all year around going from one host tree to another.
Both are relatively easy to control so that you can obtain a reasonable amount of your crop as long as you follow my proven advise. Firstly let us understand how these two pests operate.
Being moths they only fly at night and they find their host tree by the smell of the forming and ripening fruit. So if they cannot smell your tree/fruit they will fly on by to a tree they can smell.
This is the first step in reducing the damage to your fruit by disguising the smell of the tree/fruit.
To do this you need an overriding smell that negates the smell of the tree.
Wallys Neem Tree Powder scattered on the ground underneath the tree from the trunk to the drip line.
Then by making some little bags out of curtain netting we hang more of Wallys Neem Tree Powder in the tree on the lower branches about head high at the four cardinal points.
So we use the Wallys Neem Tree Powder as described after flowering and when the fruit has formed to a reasonable size.
One application then is all that is needed for each crop to disguise the fruit as the powder last over 2 months slowly breaking down..
The next step in control is to prevent any grubs that hatch out near your fruit from eating their way into the fruit.
Once a grub enters the fruit you have lost the battle cause even if you use a poisonous systemic insecticide to kill it? Whats the point its going to die inside the fruit and be useless.
No you need a non toxic substance on the outside of the fruit that is going to prevent the grub from eating its way in.
Wallys Super Neem Tree oil with Raingard is the perfect answer.
You spray the fruit, not the tree so there is a coating of Wallys Neem Tree Oil on the skin of the fruit
protected from washing off in rain with Wallys Raingard (lasts for 14 days before reapplying.)
The Neem Oil is an anti-feedent which means when the young grub takes its first bite it will get some Neem Oil in its gut and will never eat again starving to death fairly quickly been so young.
On your mature fruit you will have a little pin pricked scar that where it took its one and only bite.
So all you do is just spray the maturing fruit every 14 days that are relatively easy to reach and spray.
Fruit that are more difficult to spray will likely be eaten by birds later on anyway and as long as you are getting a nice amount of fruit to harvest that is all that really matters.
Then there is also another way to control moth problem by which you set up a moth lure to attract them and kill them.
Take one litre of hot water add a100 grams of sugar, one teaspoon of marmite, half a tablespoon of Cloudy Ammonia and half a tablespoon of Vanilla:
Mix well and divide the mix between two plastic milk or soft drink bottles.
Punch some holes in the side of the bottles just above the level of the mix.
Place on a stand about a couple of metres away from the tree.
At about waist height like on a small folding table.
When a number of moths are caught dispose of them and make up a new solution.
Cloudy Ammonia used to be common once upon a time from a grocery store if not so easy to find try hardware stores, there are two chains in NZ and they may have.
If you do all three procedures for control or at least the first two then you should be able to once again en joy your own fruit.
The Codlin Moth traps are useful as if you monitor them they trap the male codlin moths which tells you it is the time to start using the Wally Super Neem Tree Oil spray on your apples etc.
If after a month you find no new male moths in the trap you can stop spraying as it is all over for the season. (That is unless you have Guava moths in your region).
Guava moth pheromone traps are a waste of time because they are all year round so there is no time to start or stop control sprays as with the Codlin Moth………..
Curly Leaf and Garlic Rust are also two concerns of many readers.
If you have either of these conditions currently my suggestion is to take a tablespoon of molasses dissolve in a litre of hot water and place in a trigger sprayer with 20 mils of Magic Botanic Liquid MBL (per litre) and spray the foliage of either plants. Repeat weekly.
The molasses can help save your crop by supplying energy that the leaves cannot create from sunlight because of the damage they suffer from the two diseases.
The coronavirus pandemic has inspired a lot of people to explore self-sufficiency in the form of scratch cooking and growing their own food. But for many first time gardeners, growing your own food is an intimidating task that brings up lots of questions: what to grow, where to grow it and, well, how not to screw it up? Is it as simple as throwing some seeds in some dirt, watering them and giving them sun? We asked an elementary school garden teacher for her tips: we figured, if she can teach young kids to grow their own food, she can teach you, too.
Sanaya Irani is a FoodCorps service member with Detroit Public Schools. She teaches kindergarteners through 6th graders how to turn nothing into something — how to feed themselves. She has found that “the detail-oriented aspects of gardening are especially challenging for students,” which is probably true for a lot of first time gardening adults as well. Here we dig into some of those details.
Growing your own is not only for survivalists, it’s for anyone that wants to save some money at the grocery store! There are also other benefits to growing your own food such as knowing what going into the soil, you get more food for your money, and you can feel good about yourself because you helped something grow. Even if you don’t know the first thing about growing your own food, we have a basic list below to help you get started.
Decide what to grow
The first step in this process is to decide what you want to grow. You may love to get lettuce from the grocery, but it may be worth considering trying to grow your own instead.
A new study reveals the harsh reality of a diet filled with genetically modified foods.
Peer-reviewed article released Tuesday in the International Journal of Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine and conducted by the Institute for Responsible Technology revealed that the health of all of the participants improved after switching to a non-GMO diet or simply reducing the amount of GMO foods they ate.
The results, from over 3,250 people, mostly in the United States, closely matched reports by physicians around the nation who have seen similar results when their patients change to largely non-GMO and organic diets.
Now that we are halfway through Spring and quickly heading towards the first month of Summer (December) there is a fair bit to do in our gardens so lets run a check list in case some things are missed. It will depend on what you have in your gardens as to whether any or all things concern you.
Roses: generally at this time we have new foliage, buds and some flowering taking place. If there is any sign of black spot or rust, spray the roses and soil underneath with a solution of potassium permanganate mixed at ¼ a teaspoon to a litre of non chlorinated water and spray. (It may stain walls etc temporarily). Repeat weekly till new foliage is clean.
Food for Roses ; ideal is horse manure, blood & bone otherwise sheep manure pellets with the blood & bone. These should be covered with some purchased compost. Add to this a sprinkling of Fruit & Flower Power once a month. If you want good roses avoid soil damaging fertilisers such as rose fertiliser and nitrophoska. Bio Boost is also a good natural slow release one and very well priced.
If you have roses that need recovery from past chemical sprays such as Shield (now banned) the chemicals will have broken down the natural immunity of your roses. You may like to start a recovery spray program which I wrote about originally just on 10 years ago.
On the first of the month mix the following at their label rates per a litre of water, PerKfection Supa for Roses, Magic Botanic Liquid, Mycorrcin & Wallys Neem Tree Oil. Spray late in the day just before sunset. Then on the 15th of the month repeat spray all the above except for PerKfection Supa. Only water with non chlorinated water so you don’t harm the beneficial soil life including the gardeners best friend, earthworms.
In some cases the health improvement of your roses will be quickly noticed; although some may have the additional problem of inherently poor breeding and always be a sickly specimen (even if they have brilliant flowers).
Lawns; I have had a number of inquiries about lawn problems starting with moss in lawns. Dont waste your money on sulphate of iron as it only burns the top of the moss which then it quickly comes back. Instead, jet spray the moss with Wallys Moss & Liverwort Control. It kills the moss completely without damaging the grasses. If there is a spongy feeling when walking on the lawn that indicates a thatch problem. Simply spray the lawn with Thatch Busta to clean up the thatch. (Do the moss killing first, wait about 2 weeks then the Thatch Busta.)
Bare patches in the lawn indicate the root damage caused by grass grubs in the autumn/winter period and these same grubs are now down deep, pupating to emerge shortly as beetles. They are too deep to do anything about them at this time so don’t waste your money on treating. The horse has gone so no need to close the gate.
Another bare patch problem with holes in the lawn indicate that porina caterpillars are at work eating at the base of the grass in the evening (while they are safe from birds) to return to their tunnels before dawn. A simple spray over the lawn with Wallys Neem Tree Oil will stop the damage and cause them to starve to death. In areas where porina are a problem treat the lawn this way every 3 months.
When the grass grub beetles emerge they are going to eat the foliage of several plants so after you have noticed holes in the leaves go out after dark with a torch and have a look. If you have beetles then spray then with a mix of Wallys Super Pyrethrum and Wallys Neem Tree Oil. Repeat nightly.
Also a bright light in a window facing the lawn with a trough two thirds full of water with a film of kerosene floating on the top; placed directly under the window pane, will trap lots of beetles (maybe a few Codlin Moths too) They fly at the bright light hit the pane and fall into the water where the kerosene stops them from escaping.
Feed the beetles to the chickens next morning or flush down the toilet.
Weeds; they certainly grow at this time of the year and as long as you deal to them before they set seed they are not too much of a problem.
In fact weeds are a excellent asset to your garden soils as they have taken up goodness which can be returned to great advantage. You could pull the weeds out, shake the soil off them and lay them back down on the soil. That is good but even better; with a sharp knife slice through the weeds just below soil surface. This leaves the roots in the soil to rot and provide food for the soil life and it does not disrupt the beneficial fungi in the soil. The foliage can be laid on the soil surface where it will be quickly devoured by the soil life and worms. Your soil will build up humus quickly if you spray the dying weeds with Mycorrcin.
Doing these things (sure it takes a bit of time but it is so therapeutic and anti-stressful) will over time make for dream gardens and plants.
Citrus; its a good time to sprinkle Wallys Neem tree Powder underneath the citrus trees from the trunk to the drip line. This will help prevent insect damage. If you have chook manure give a good sprinkling of that otherwise any animal manure or sheep manure pellets along with blood & bone. Cover with compost. Sprinkle Fruit and Flower Power once a month. A spray of Wallys Liquid Copper with Raingard added in the spring and autumn will help with any citrus diseases. If the trees are looking a bit sad add Perkfection Supa to the copper spray.
In cases where wet feet have rotted roots treat the area with Terracin to suppress the pathogens and help save the tree. Three weeks later drench the soil with Mycorrcin.
Note always use non-chlorinated water which is easily achieved with a special carbon bonded filter on your outside tap. (Cost $140)
Pear Slugs; In warmer areas and later in cooler areas the pear slugs will attack pear and plum trees, they eat small holes in the foliage and look like a black slug. Simply spray the tree with Wallys Liquid Copper to control. Remember be nice to your gardens by being natural.
For something different
I wonder why over 50 NZ Doctors and medical professionals would put their careers and incomes in jeopardy by making a stand?
You may not have heard of this group they call themselves NZ Doctors Speaking out With Science and they have some interesting things to say.

(NaturalHealth365) Carrots have a well-deserved reputation as a healthy food that can benefit eyesight. These sweet, crunchy root vegetables are extraordinarily high in beta-carotene, the plant pigment responsible for their brilliant orange color. The body converts beta-carotene to vitamin A, which is essential for vision. And lutein – another plant pigment in carrots – actually reduces the risk of age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness in older Americans.
While carrots’ most obvious health benefits center on protecting and enhancing vision, they do confer additional gifts – some of which may surprise you!

(NaturalHealth365) The foods that you eat not only impact your waistline and your physical health, but they also affect the way you think and feel. You’ve probably always heard that you are what you eat – and it’s true, what you put in your body matters.
But, according to a review published in the March 2021 issue of Frontiers of Nutrition, it’s what you feed your brain that really counts.
Your “second brain” is smarter than you think
Your gastrointestinal system plays an integral role in not only your physical health but in your mood and mental health as well. This is because scientists have found that neural tissue doesn’t only exist in our brains. It lines our gut as well.

(NaturalHealth365) Heart disease is responsible for 655,000 deaths a year, making it the leading cause of mortality in the United States. (And, close to 50 percent of all American adults suffer from some form of heart disease.) But, that’s not the only disturbing statistic. With a shocking 40 percent of the adults in the United States classified as medically obese, and almost half of all American adults affected by diabetes or prediabetes, the overall picture is a population plagued by ill health and chronic disease.
And, while many factors contribute to this grim reality, experts agree on a primary culprit – the excessive consumption of processed, sugary foods and drinks. Now, new research published in Circulation, the journal of the American Heart Association, reveals just how many lives could be saved by reducing added sugars in packaged foods and beverages. (Fasten your seat belt – this figure may astonish you).

EWR comment: The photo of Bill there shows him in his truer scamming light, shot from well circulated video footage of him rocking to and fro in court trying to fool the judge about what he didn’t understand about his monopolizing behaviour over MS. After that episode he rebranded himself as the philanthropist. Why would you trust this man with your health?
From globalresearch.ca
Bill Gates has quietly made himself the largest owner of farmland in the United States. For a man obsessed with monopoly control, the opportunity to also dominate food production must seem irresistible.
“Gates has a Napoleonic concept of himself, an appetite that derives from power and unalloyed success, with no leavening hard experience, no reverses.” — Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson, presiding judge in the Gates/Microsoft antitrust-fraud case
Thomas Jefferson believed that the success of America’s exemplary struggle to supplant the yoke of European feudalism with a noble experiment in self-governance depended on the perpetual control of the nation’s land base by tens of thousands of independent farmers, each with a stake in our democracy.
So at best, Gates’ campaign to scarf up America’s agricultural real estate is a signal that feudalism may again be in vogue. At worst, his buying spree is a harbinger of something far more alarming — the control of global food supplies by a power-hungry megalomaniac with a Napoleon complex.
But, it seems, these crucial insects aren’t doing very well. A study published today in the journal One Earth reveals that in recent decades, the number of bee species reported in the wild has declined globally. The sharpest decrease occurred between 2006 and 2015, with roughly 25 percent fewer species spotted—even as sightings by citizen scientists were increasing rapidly.
Halictid bees—also called sweat bees for their attraction to our perspiration—pollinate important crops such as alfalfa, sunflowers, and cherries. Observations of these tiny metallic fliers have fallen by 17 percent since the 1990s, the study found. Bees in the rare Melittidae family, which provide us with blueberries, cranberries, and orchids, have plummeted by as much as 41 percent. (The world’s bees are divided among seven families.)
Though lesser known, such wild bees supplement the work of honeybees in managed hives.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has spent nearly US$6 billion over the past 17 years trying to improve agriculture, mainly in Africa. This is a lot of money for an underfunded sector, and, as such, carries great weight. To better understand how the Gates Foundation is shaping the global agriculture agenda, GRAIN analysed all the food and agriculture grants the foundation has made up until 2020.
We found that, while the Foundation’s grants focus on African farmers, the vast majority of its funding goes to groups in North America and Europe. The grants are also heavily skewed to technologies developed by research centres and corporations in the North for poor farmers in the South, completely ignoring the knowledge, technologies and biodiversity that these farmers already possess.
Also, despite the Foundation’s focus on techno-fixes, much of its grants are given to groups that lobby on behalf of industrial farming and undermine alternatives. This is bad for African farmers and bad for the planet. It is time to pull the plug on the Gates’ outsized influence over global agriculture.
In 2014 GRAIN published a detailed breakdown of the grants made by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to promote agricultural development in Africa and other parts of the world.1 Our main conclusion then was that the vast majority of those grants were channelled to groups in the US and Europe, not Africa nor other parts of the global South. The funding overwhelmingly went to research institutes rather than farmers. They were also mainly directed at shaping policies to support industrial farming, not smallholders.
NOTE: the whole article is reprinted here, if you find links not working as one reader has already reported, go to Dr Mercola dot com and type in this heading ‘Don’t Panic About Politics — Here’s Where Your True Power Lies’. The video at the link (not reproduced here) tells all. For a background to the oligarchs or ‘oiligarchs’ as James Corbett calls them the two videos in this post are an absolute must watch:
According to a survey by the American Psychology Association (APA) published October 7, 2020, 68% of Americans say the upcoming elections are a significant source of stress
The U.S. is more accurately described as a corporate oligarchy, as the main power lies with “The Big Six,” i.e., the banking, pharmaceutical, agricultural, military-industrial complex, energy and media industries
Regardless of who wins the presidency today, please realize that your power as an individual lies in your day-to-day decisions, including your dietary choices. This is more important than ever, seeing how diet-related comorbidities are responsible for 94% of COVID-19-related deaths
To fight the globalist technocratic system, consider getting involved in local government, elect a constitutional sheriff, purchase goods and services from companies whose values align with your own and don’t further the technocratic agenda, and buy locally grown foods (or grow your own) to promote food independence
Big Data is the new Big Oil, and Google leads the pack as a key data mining operation, and data mining is a crucial component of technocracy
This year’s presidential election is not for the faint of heart. In fact, over the past several months, mental health professionals have noted a significant uptick in anxiety and emotional distress related directly to today’s elections.
According to a survey1,2 by the American Psychology Association (APA) published October 7, 2020, 68% of Americans say the upcoming elections are a significant source of stress. Those with chronic health conditions are faring the worst, with 71% reporting feeling stressed about the elections, compared to 64% of those who do not have a chronic health condition.
A clear majority, 77% (up from 66% in 2019), also say they worry about the country’s future, and 71% say this is the lowest point in U.S. history that they can remember. As noted by the APA, uncertainty tends to foster stress, so it’s important to focus on the things that you do have control over. Recommendations provided include:
Avoid ruminating on worst-case scenarios
Engage in meaningful activities
Stay socially connected
Stay physically active
Unsettling Truths
Revealing government and industry corruption as it impacts our personal health and security has been part of my educational mission since I started this newsletter. It has been my observation that such corruption invariably and inevitably ends up harming people’s ability to take control of their health.
Sadly, the problems have gotten progressively larger and more pervasive despite these attempts. Now, with the rollout of a clever technocratic agenda under the guise of COVID-19 pandemic responses, the depth and breadth of the problem is becoming more readily apparent, and it’s probably more disturbing than anything we’ve previously seen.
It doesn’t matter if the wrongdoers are Democrats or Republicans, my chief aim has always been to identify the root cause of the problem, which is that the United States is largely run by corporations, to the detriment of us all. The censorship implemented by Big Tech in the last couple of years is a strategy to spread their technocratic narrative and implement even further restrictions of our freedoms and personal liberty.
Today, we find ourselves struggling to access crucial information about topics that have significant bearing on our health and our lives: information about SARS-CoV-2’s origin and COVID-19 treatments being just two of many examples.
Despite all of that, I urge you to foster optimism toward the future and how we can use our individual power to collectively foster positive change — regardless of the outcome of the U.S. presidential election.
The US Has Become a Corporate Oligarchy
Unfortunately, positions of power have always attracted people who most want that power, and today we have many morally flawed people working in a corrupt government.
The goal of the technocratic agenda is to continue concentrating power at the global level. Ultimately, the goal is to take power away from the individual and concentrate it at the highest level possible, in the hands of unelected leaders. It’s really all about controlling the global population.
In a 2014 study,3 two political scientists explained that the U.S. is really an oligarchy, not a democracy, with the wealthiest elites in American society wielding the most control over the issues Congress and the White House ultimately take action on.
Career politicians and the allowance of massive corporate political contributions ensure this oligarchy will be a dominant force everyone needs to be aware of. Now, however, we’re starting to realize that it’s even worse than that. There’s an even greater power grab at work.
Ultimately, the technocratic plan is to govern society through technology, programmed by scientists and technicians and automated through the use of artificial intelligence, rather than through democratically elected politicians and government leaders.
Ultimately, the technocratic plan is to govern society through technology, programmed by scientists and technicians and automated through the use of artificial intelligence, rather than through democratically elected politicians and government leaders.
It is an alarming plan, once you begin to wrap your mind around it in its entirety, but it’s crucial to remember that only a fearful public can allow the technocratic elite to dictate our future and rip away our personal freedoms. It’s fear itself that allows tyranny to flourish. There are more of us than there are of them, but enough of us must be willing to stand up and say no, we won’t accept this plan.
Fortunately, scientists, lawyers, medical professionals and academics are increasingly recognizing that the deliberate fear-mongering that has kept the COVID-19 pandemic alive now threatens to replace democracy with “fascist totalitarian models” of government, and more are now trying to speak out and inform others. In Germany, a Corona Extra-Parliamentary Inquiry Committee4,5 is also preparing the biggest class-action lawsuit in history6,7,8,9 to expose the COVID-19 fraud.
Media, Big Tech and the Military-Industrial Complex
As noted in my interview with investigative journalist Whitney Webb this past Sunday, “the line between Silicon Valley and the national security state has become so blurred, you really can’t distinguish where one begins and what were the other ends.” Media also play a crucial role in this scheme, as they are refusing to report the truth about what’s happening, and won’t lay out the ramifications of going along with the various plans currently being introduced.
As just one example, in my interview with Webb, she describes the undisclosed implications of Operation Warp Speed, a program funded and operated primarily by the CIA and the U.S. military. It’s not just about the rapid creation of therapeutics and vaccines for COVID-19. The program includes a whole lot more than that, and appears to be a key component of a new biosurveillance system in which our very biology is being monitored and capitalized upon.
All of this is of course in addition to all the other conflicts of interest that have permeated our society, such as agricultural policies that feed into the agendas of Big Pharma and the pesticide industry.
The media has also been consolidated — to the point that 90% of what you read in newspapers, magazines and see on TV is now controlled by six media giants.10 This consolidation allows for tremendous influence on all matters, and has led to censorship being more the rule than the exception.
True unbiased, in-depth investigative journalism has joined the hairy-nosed wombat as an incredibly rare and near-extinct species, and you’d be wise to not swallow whole everything you read in mainstream media.
American internet giants have also proven themselves to be a core part of the U.S. surveillance apparatus, as detailed in “Harvard Professor Exposes Surveillance Capitalism.” Big Data is the new Big Oil, and Google leads the pack as a key data mining operation, and data mining is a crucial component of technocracy.
Without this vast data stream, the plan simply cannot work. This is why I’ve been urging everyone to eliminate Google and Facebook from your life. There are now plenty of alternatives that are not engaged in massive personal data mining and theft.
Don’t Panic — Refocus
Regardless of who wins the presidency, please realize that your power as an individual lies in your day-to-day decisions, and that no matter who bears the title of president of the United States, the corporate influence will remain, as will the threat of the technocratic agenda.
Also realize that creating divisiveness among people is part of a carefully orchestrated plan that works in the oligarchy’s favor, so we really need to get smarter about how we engage in the political process and avoid falling for their carefully constructed and sophisticated propaganda that limit us from having any really hopeful choices.
As long as we’re at each other’s throats over things we have little or no control over, it distracts us from analyzing and addressing the underlying system that is creating the problems in the first place. So, let people have their opinion, whether we’re talking about political or presidential candidates, because these are all false choices anyway.
Ultimately, controlling interests are writing the laws and paying the politicians to pass them. But knowledge is power, so use your knowledge to take control. I believe it’s crucial to understand where the technocrats are trying to take us, so if you haven’t read through the articles I linked to earlier, consider going through them.
Avoid Victim Mentality by Realizing Where Your Power Lies
The power of the individual is alive and well, even in this deeply flawed system, and even in the face of growing totalitarianism. It becomes yours by stepping outside of the system with every decision and purchase you make.
With every action you take, you also set the example for others to follow, thereby making you a change-agent within your own small circle of family, friends and acquaintances. In the end, our collective actions will create the changes that are so desperately needed, and thinking locally will eventually have a global effect, not just in terms of commerce, but in terms of safeguarding our constitutional rights as well.
It’s important to realize that the only reason technocracy has not yet been able to overtake the U.S. — although they’re getting incredibly close — is because of our Constitution. This is why we must fight to protect our Constitution at all costs. One of the most effective ways to do this is through grassroots movements and getting involved in local politics.
What the technocrats are doing is making an end run around national sovereignty. Rather than a frontal assault on the system, which has never been successful, they’re simply eroding national sovereignty piece by piece. In “The Pressing Dangers of Technocracy” (hyperlinked above), American constitutionalist Patrick Wood reviews what we can do to save our republic and thwart the steady march of technocracy:
“I believe very strongly that local activism is the only way to rebuild our country, if there is going to be any rebuilding at all. Local activism — because this is how they got us. They built [the technocratic system] from the bottom up. We cannot tear their house down from the top down. It’s simply is just not going to happen. They’re too powerful.
There is no national government or any element of national government that’s going to save us from these technocrats and technocracy. There’s no state government, either, or local government, the way it stands now, unless that local government gets influenced and populated by people who know better and who are willing to tell these others:
‘Go away, you don’t belong here. This is not the way we’re going to run our community, our town, our city,’ whatever it is, and we have access to those people.”
“This is a crucial time in American history, and we actually have a peaceful and effective solution to it. The only thing that needs to happen is your local officials, especially your sheriff, keep [their] oath of office. That’s the only thing he has to do … The sheriff is here to protect your civil liberties, your God given rights.”
If enough people get involved and make sure they elect sheriffs who follow the Constitution, we can create Constitutional counties and take back America, county by county, one sheriff at a time.
Eventually, all the police forces will be on the same page as well, and will no longer enforce unlawful, unconstitutional orders, whatever they may be, including unconstitutional mask and vaccination mandates. Another way you can have a significant impact is by getting personally involved in local government.
Aside from those two key areas of influence, remember the industries that are currently buying our politicians and writing their own laws cannot maintain power without your ongoing support. While we may not have a significant choice in how our tax contributions are distributed to these industries through subsidies and contracts, we do have a very powerful influence by making responsible purchases each and every day.
Withdraw your financial support by not buying what they’re selling (or using their product if it’s free, such as Google and Facebook, where your personal data is what they make their money on) and you automatically redistribute financial power to more benevolent businesses that are aligned with your core principles.
An example of this is when you buy locally-grown foods from an organic farmer. You’re empowering that farmer to continue growing foods for the community that support environmental regeneration and human health, and you’re disempowering the big junk food manufacturers that wield undue influence over agricultural policy. This is how you wield your collective power, and the decisions each of us make every day therefore matter.
Realize ‘Left Versus Right’ Is a False Narrative
We should not play the game and choose to be part of this false narrative of “left versus right,” or “Democrat versus Republican.” Technocracy is not a political system and it does not belong to or support either side. It is an economic system based on technological control and digital surveillance.
Most people are still trapped in the mindset of opposition and there are great people across the board that need to come together. Readers of Mercola.com are split almost evenly between those identifying as Republican or Democrat, and working collectively has produced tremendous results by strategically organizing consumer marketplace pressure.
We must keep in mind that it is the concentration and accumulation of power that is a clear and present danger to our individual rights, and that this accumulation of power is attracting the worst kinds of people who seek control and power.
Take Bill Gates, for example. Gates’ influence has ballooned along with his wealth, to the point he now exerts incredible control over not just the tech industry but also the health industry and global food and agricultural policy.
To learn more about how a tiny minority of people, the ultra-wealthy elite, have caused a majority of the environmental, financial and health challenges currently facing us, see my recent interview with Vandana Shiva, Ph.D., featured in “Oneness Versus the 1%.”
Food Independence Is Key to Other Forms of Independence
It’s time to dissent, to step out of the globalist technocratic system. I’ve already listed some key ways to do that: Get involved in local government; focus on getting a constitutional sheriff; and buy or use products made by companies whose core values align with your own and don’t further the technocratic agenda of totalitarian control.
Another key area of focus would be your food. If you cannot grow your own, then get to know the farmer that can. Keep your money in your community; the closer the better. Kissinger said it best:11 “Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control the people.”
If you don’t like the state of the nation (or the world), stop eating processed and ultra-processed junk foods. Some may initially think this decision would have nothing to do with anything that is wrong in the world, but if you give it some thought, you’ll realize that the more independence you gain with your food, the more independence you will create in other areas as well.
Because food is such a potent form of control, breaking that control mechanism will have a ripple effect that extends outward into many other industries and fields of activity, including the political arena.
Food is important for another reason too. We now know that insulin resistance is a key risk factor for severe COVID-19 and death. Since diet-related comorbidities are responsible for 94% of all COVID-19-related deaths, taking control of your diet is a simple, common-sense strategy to lower the risks associated with this infection.
Break the Chains of Control
So, instead of fretting about the election, use it as motivation to step into your personal power, and join the revolution to create independence and break the chains of control.
Sooner or later everyone must decide which is more important: personal liberty or false security? The good news is that many are in fact starting to see the writing on the wall and starting to choose liberty over brutal totalitarianism in the name of public health.
Bioterrorism is now used to keep us in fear, and fear is what allows the technocrats to implement their agenda. Part of the answer, therefore, is to educate yourself about this supposed threat. In previous articles, I’ve addressed the importance of outing and pushing back against biowarfare research.
I’ve also reviewed data showing this pandemic really isn’t something to fear, as the lethality of this virus is no greater than that of seasonal influenza. I’ve also covered many prevention and treatment strategies that have shown tremendous success. At the end of the day, the more knowledgeable you are, the less fearful you’ll be.
Two excellent videos from Corbett. James Corbett adds the missing pieces in the world government puzzle. These really are a must watch. Don’t be put off by ‘oil’ … Corbett traces a meticulously researched, intricate & largely hidden chain of events that start with oil & end with education, health, medicine, food, banking, you name it …. bringing perfect clarity to today’s events. This is the remarkable true story of the world that Big Oil is creating, and how they plan to bring it about.
