The Anti-Capitalist Town With Equal Wage Full Employment and $19 Housing

This article from filmsforaction echoes the entire philosophy of this website. Yes … it is very do-able. Very. This is life without the middle men in the form of profiteering banksters who not only create money out of thin air (as in type your loan onto their computer screen) and then charge you interest for it. The Spanish town of Marinaleda has a local Mayor of 35+ years who has been known to seize food from the local supermarket & give it to the poor…. and people get a cheaply priced, comfortable house to live in, so long as it’s never sold for a profit (as in speculation)…

“With virtually no police, crime or unemployment, meet the Spanish town described as a democratic, socialist utopia. Unemployment is non-existent in Marinaleda, an Andalusian village in southern Spain that is prosperous thanks to its farming cooperative…..

Since the financial crisis began in 2008, Marinaleda has shot to fame — and so has its maverick mayor Juan Manuel Sánchez Gordillo, who earned the nickname,”The Spanish Robin Hood,” after organizing and carrying out a series of supermarket raids in a direct action protest last August. Basic groceries such as oil, rice and beans were loaded into carts, wheeled from the store and taken to a local food bank to help the poor, as helpless cashiers looked on, some crying….”

Sunshine Coast Council Follows France’s Lead in Phasing out Weedkiller

Here is good news … another group opting out of Glyphosate use, this time Australia:

“Spraying weeds with synthetic chemicals could be a thing of the past in a few years if the Sunshine Coast Council has its way.

Via Source: http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2015/06/22/4259440.htm

It is phasing out the use of controversial pesticide glyphosate – the active ingredient in Round Up – and introducing natural ways to control weeds, even though regulators from the State Government and CSIRO do not require them to.

Parks manager Mark Presswell says council is concerned that research has shown glyphosate is a health hazard and harmful to the environment….”

Some Thoughts on Smart Meters and the Latest Updates from NZ’s StopSmartMeters Site

I had a discussion recently with an electrician who has seen the vast changes in our country in the past two decades around how our country is managed, how our councils operate and how our power is delivered to us. The big sell-offs and the descent of our once sovereign nation into the abyss of phenomenal debt. He recalled the former wealth of both the local council and the local power company. You can read about the background to these changes in NZ from the 1980s onwards, all initiated by Rogernomics and the Big Experiment,  on the About, Money Trail and Corporation pages… you Kiwis were the guinea pigs to these great ‘economic innovations’ which clearly didn’t work … evidenced by the wider gap between rich and poor and the crippling debt we are in. We were conned. We used to have full employment and no debt. Once upon a time. And we owned our country. It is now owned by all in sundry, from all over the planet.

I asked the electrician his thoughts on Smart Meters. He had no fears whatsoever about them and told me what most call centers will tell you, they are no more harmful than cell phones. I conveyed to him that I had my concerns having watched the doco, Take Back Your Power. I asked him did anybody measure the radiation? … he replied ‘no’. I asked if he would mind watching the doco and giving me his feedback, being a local electrician. No he wasn’t interested at all to watch it.

This is what concerns me … few want to examine the evidence. However, that aside, the uppermost issue here for me is, our choice is being taken away. Correction, has been taken away. Once installed the companies will no longer remove a Smart Meter, even if they failed to secure your consent in the first place to install it. Yes they do just install them when you’re not home if you happen to have a meter on the outside of your house. Be aware if you are home, you have every right to non-consent of installation because they are NOT compulsory. Better still, tape a notice to your meter advising of your non-consent, and notify your power company in writing of the same. Once installed however, if you want the chip removed to prevent the emissions of radiation from remote reading (if it is removable) you pay … anything from $130 and upwards.

Gradually, by little increments, we have been coerced into receiving into our homes, a device that has many question marks over it that are backed by both professional medical opinion and independent scientific research that we would be at our peril to ignore. Here are some dots for you to join. Our cancer rate is now one in three. Why is the medical profession still researching for cures beyond chemo whilst ignoring the compelling research on environmental causes? Why also are they ignoring the natural cures that people are finding out for themselves?

If folks prefer to neither research this for themselves, nor look at the evidence that is available, then be it on their own heads, however, for those of us who do do the research and are aware of the hidden dangers of these devices, we surely must be given the choice to decline? Currently we do have that choice but, as many are aware, we have to insist on that option as we are not being told of it. I can only conclude here … as always … educate yourselves. We live in a different era now. Truth has taken on a new meaning; we need to find out the facts for ourselves. To do so visit the Smart Meter page on this site, and above all, an excellent starting point is to watch the doco, Take Back Your Power.

on that note …

Summarized here are updates from NZ’s StopSmartMeters Website. This is an excellent resource to keep you up to date with changes and developments relevant to NZ’s installation of Smart Meters also known as Advanced Meters.

The trucks to Bonny Glen … local concern about speed, noise and road damage

This week a local person contacted the site expressing concern with the trucking to Bonny Glen. Here is a summary of those concerns:

  • I am beginning to be more concerned over the number of trucks going along Wanganui Road
  •  Speed is a BIG Issue… speed’s always been an issue but there is more noise and speed than ever before… seems to me that something like a road hump needs to be put in place to slow them down because road signs certainly don’t
  • The noise of the trucks has increased, one hears them bumping over who knows what
  • Trucks are entering Marton, and leaving it in the small hours
  • The state of the road has deteriorated and will get worse I am sure
  • Is there another route that could be used? If it must continue?

Backtrack to mid 2014 and we had reports saying that if consents were granted to quadruple the landfill size the trucks are unlikely to be more numerous on a daily basis … (Feilding Herald Aug 14 2014) now the consents are granted and the landfill is set officially to almost quintuple we are told there WILL be an increase of trucks from an average of 42 to 73 per day (Manawatu Standard 12 June 2015).

Note, I have also reported on the site other expressions of concern over trucking noise and speed. A truck every ten minutes (35 in a morning – modest estimate) and at very early hours. This person reported the entire house shaking when they went by, often dropping refuse along the way, and leaving odour. The person is not alone in their concerns, other neighbours are also fed up with the trucks.

If you’re concerned in any way with the state of affairs concerning truck nuisance, put them in writing to the RDC Mayor and Crs, and/or make them known at the Community Committee meetings that meet every second Wednesday of the month. Details on the RDC website.

Please also consider contacting the site so the information can be registered there as well.

More on Bonny Glen’s leachate disposal … they’re ‘chipping away’ at it

The Chronicle is reporting on the leachate. There have been more discussions regarding the ongoing treatment of this toxic runoff:  “Leachate from the Bonny Glen landfill may soon be treated on site rather than, or before, being dumped into the Marton wastewater treatment plant…”

We heard on June 12th that: “…it would still be a few months before a solution would be finalised concerning leachate…”  and that ” Bonny Glen manager Paul Mullinger …   was taking the issue “very seriously”. They are “… considering some sort of on-site treatment and did not view the issue as insurmountable”… and Deputy Mayor Dean McManaway says “It’s important we keep chipping away and not let this rest.”

Note the operative words here: “may … few months … considering … chipping away”.

It is interesting that on one side of the table, the company that managed to secure a nice loose ‘gentleman’s agreement’ to dump the toxic leachate in the first place, and contaminate our local stream to the extent RDC and Horizons seem unwilling to conduct ongoing in-stream biota surveys, concealing just how loose that agreement was … and on the other side that same company managed to effectively exclude all discussion of leachate, truck nuisance and landfill pests from the hearings altogether. And now it’s all go ahead with the consents safely in hand, still we’re required to ‘chip away’ at things. Some of us are not fooled by all this drag-the-chain rhetoric.

In the meantime, as the latest Chronicle article points out, the waste water treatment plant is still non-compliant.

Bonny Glen Landfill impact on water and roads to be managed … from the Standard

“While more rubbish is set to pour into soon-to-expand Bonny Glen Landfill, the Rangitikei District’s water and roading will not be trashed.

The Rangitikei District Council assets and infrastructure committee heard on Thursday it would still be a few months before a solution would be finalised concerning leachate from Bonny Glen.

Leachate causes a problem for the Marton Wastewater Treatment Plant….

Bonny Glen manager Paul Mullinger …. was taking the issue “very seriously”….Cr Dean McManaway said it was good to see this was a priority. “It’s important we keep chipping away and not let this rest.” “

Watch this space … leachate ’causes a problem’ is quite an understatement … witness seven years of regular non compliance which RDC has failed to address thus far in spite of it being highlighted by Marton’s Community Committee. RDC is ‘chipping away’ at this and … it will reportedly be several months before a solution is finalized.

Here’s hoping this will not be another of those delayed solutions that never quite materializes.

Cancer … Environments and Thinking Outside of the Square

Some important truths here about Genetically Modified Organisms (from GMO Free USA) … and a reminder why we need to eliminate known and suspected carcinogens from our environments. As I repeat often on this site, cancer statistics are now one in three. That is far far too high, and the powers that be need to get serious about eliminating the KNOWN risks, as well as the suspected, instead of acting like cancer is a mystery. It’s not. Please read Dr Samuel Epstein’s book called ‘The Politics of Cancer’, or watch the excellent documentary called ‘The Idiot Cycle’ featured here two days ago. They are forever searching for cures whilst both ignoring and suppressing the existing cures, and failing to look at the causes, many of which have already been exposed by independent research. Folks are wising up however and seeking alternative help for themselves, as did the Northland man who used IV Vitamin C to cure his cancer (note this man had had all the chemo he could have and was sent home to die). To learn of the many cures that exist for cancer now see also on YouTube, Cancer is Curable Now and Every Cancer Can be Cured in Weeks, Dr. Leonard Coldwell. Additionally you can visit the website called The Truth About Cancer. There are some of their docos on YouTube plus they occasionally show online their whole series exposing how the medical industry switched its focus from holistic healing to treating symptoms with pharmaceuticals. These are excellent documentaries that feature qualified health professionals including oncologists.

Currently we have an online petition seeking to curtail or stop the spraying of glyphosate (Roundup) in our Rangitikei District’s public places. Glyphosate which is used liberally in our district was recently re classified by WHO as a Class 2A carcinogen, meaning it probably causes cancer. Our Council however continues to ignore the research and WHO’s announcement, whilst on the other hand, many countries are banning it. For further information on glyphosate please visit the Glyphosate page on this site. If you are from the Rangitikei or connected with it in any way, please consider signing the petition. It is surely wiser to eliminate all known and suspected carcinogens.

What is causing cancer? Watch the award winning doco The Idiot Cycle – and find out

The causative factors around cancer are really no mystery … we just never hear about them in mainstream media. Read Dr Samuel Epstein’s book called ‘The Politics of Cancer’, quite an old book too. He points out the many environmental causes, and yet our system, the powers that be, call them what you will, act dumb almost and ask us to contribute to the endless sea of research that seems to go nowhere.

This documentary, ‘The Idiot Cycle’ will enlighten you.

Feeding the hungry … France makes it illegal for grocery stores to waste food

Here is an article from France on the sensible recycling of food waste…

“1/3 of the food currently produced worldwide is thrown away every year.. to help prevent this travesty, France just passed new legislation banning stores from purposefully ruining food … requiring all supermarkets 400 square feet or larger to donate unsold food to charity, for animal feed, or for farming compost.”

In recent weeks we’ve had some intriguing contrasts on this front. In NZ and the UK private organizations have been redistributing waste supermarket food to the needy, then in a town in Spain, we have a Mayor of 35 years seizing food from supermarkets to redistribute ‘Robin Hood’ style, to the poor. He sees speculation in food, and rightly so, as a disgrace. Food he says, is a right. This Mayor has also put the clamps on housing speculation and folks there in Marinaleda can own their own home for $19 a month… so long as it’s never sold for profit.

“We need to rethink our values, the consumer society, the value we place on money, selfishness and individualism,” says their mayor, Juan Manuel Sánchez Gordillo.

bread-793852_1280Then in the US of America a young woman has been sacked for giving free cafeteria lunches to children who had no lunch money (see video at the link). Seventy one cities in the US have been trying to pass ordinances forbidding the donation of food to the homeless.

” … 90-year-old World War II veteran Arnold Abbott made national headlines when he got busted by cops in Fort Lauderdale, Florida twice in one week—for giving out food to homeless people. While serving a public meal on November 2, Abbott told the Sun-Sentinel, “a policeman pulled my arm and said, ‘Drop that plate right now,’ like it was a gun.”

What’s the planet coming to? Generosity being criminalized … for what? Much of the food being denied the poor is only headed for landfills anyway. Hopefully other nations will follow the lead on this and practice some civil disobedience to get the message across. It’s not as if the poor will be shopping elsewhere and affecting profits. And profits are the underlying agenda in all of this. Take an hour out and watch ‘The Corporation’ documentary. You will learn from that that profits are the bottom line for corporations. They are not about helping people and the insanity of many of them needs to be challenged. Preventing people from feeding the poor simply isn’t right.

Swiss Supermarkets Stop Sales of Glyphosate over Health Concerns

Here is excellent news from Switzerland, joining the ranks of countries that are rejecting the probable carcinogen, glyphosate. This article is from Sustainable Pulse.

“Swiss supermarket giants Coop and Migros have announced that they will no longer sell products that contain glyphosate, following the World Health Organization’s report stating that glyphosate is a probable human carcinogen. They have also announced that they will be exploring non-toxic alternative weed-killers.”

Read the article here: http://sustainablepulse.com/2015/06/03/swiss-supermarkets-stop-sales-of-glyphosate-over-health-concerns/#.VXSEs6id6wI

If you’re not up to speed on glyphosate and its hidden dangers there are links in the article to further information.

For links on the extensive research you could also visit our glyphosate page here: https://envirowatchrangitikei.wordpress.com/glyphosate/

If you’re from or connected with the Rangitikei region you might like to consider signing our petition to stop the use of glyphosate in our towns’ public spaces: https://envirowatchrangitikei.wordpress.com/petition-2/

Note: if you consider ‘probably causes cancer’ is not proof enough to stop using glyphosate, consider now the statistics of cancer deaths which are at one in three. That is very high. Is it not worth erring on the side of caution to try and cut down this awful death rate? Consider reading the book by Dr Samuel Epstein called ‘The Politics of Cancer’. This is very enlightening and will get you to consider more deeply the part environment plays in our protection.

On Queen’s Birthday weekend … 8 facts about the Queen that may surprise you

Since it’s Queen’s Birthday this weekend (not her official birthday which is 21st April) here are a few pertinent facts you may like to ponder:

  1. Elizabeth_II_greets_NASA_GSFC_employees,_May_8,_2007_editQueen Elizabeth is the largest landowner on earth; she has legal ownership of over one sixth of the planet’s surface. The Commonwealth, including Britain, occupies 9,900 mill acres of the earth’s 36,000 mill acres.
  2. in the UK the Queen is the sole legal owner of all land. Everyone else has either of the following forms of tenure:  (a) freehold defined as ‘an interest in an estate in land, in fee simple.’ (a medieval term for the sum paid to represent the fact that freehold was actually a tenancy and that the monarch was the ultimate landowner). (b) Leasehold, an interest in an estate in land, in fee simple, for a term of years’.
  3. The corporation called ‘NZ’ (your country Kiwis) is registered as owned by the Queen, on the Securities & Exchange Commission’s (SEC) website, Washington DC.
  4. During WW2 11 million acres of land was seized by the British Govt., with minimal and in some cases no compensation paid.
  5. In the UK, Australia, Canada, NZ and anywhere else there are Crown lands, the relevant Govts can seize land without compensation, acting in the Queen’s name … they can also use the Royal Prerogative (feudal powers) to do the same, beyond the reach of parliaments.
  6. The Queen owns as a private person, about 637,000 acres with a value of over $9,200 million.
  7. For nearly 10,000 years of known history, those claiming ownership of land on the planet has been between 0.2% and 3% of the population, whilst the remaining 97-99% owned nothing. The land owners exclude the majority from owning any by crafting their own land laws and perpetuating the fallacy that land is scarce because there are too many people on the planet.
  8. If all the land on the planet was divvied up equally to all (this calculates roughly to one tenth of an urban acre or two of rural) poverty could be eliminated.

Keep your heirloom seeds … they’re gold … Monsanto is buying up the heirloom companies

Keep your heirloom seed… Monsanto, creator of carcinogenic glyphosate/roundup that kiwis love, (also, DDT, Agent Orange & Aspartame) are about controlling the food supply.

Kissinger: “Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control the people.”

GE feed is already being fed to some of our farm animals … it is unlabeled as GE so farmers can give no guarantee it’s not

They’ve been doing it by increments for decades. Once they own all the seed companies, you will have no other option than buying their genetically modified seed which we already know is dangerous to health. GE feed is already fed to some of our NZ animals … so it is in our food… be aware and treasure your organic/heirloom seed like gold.

Some history here … in the late 1980s a bill was passed in NZ (now world-wide) called Plant Variety Rights (PVR) or Plant Breeders’ Rights (PBR). This allowed companies to emasculate seeds, removing their ability to reproduce by removing the reproductive organs. This meant of course that you couldn’t save seed from the resultant plants and would be forced to return to the store and buy another packet of seeds next season. Now pumpkin-233851_1280what good could transpire from such an arrangement except profits for the …. yes …. the corporation?  Corporations are about profits not the well being of populations. They are not averse to suing poor farmers for saving seed, something they’ve done for thousands of years. How helpful is that for struggling farmers from struggling nations? Already in poorer nations the promise by Monsanto of greater yields with their emasculated seed (aka genetically modified) have fallen flat and these farmers find themselves in very great debt instead, many committing suicide.

Just ten companies own 67% of the world’s proprietary seed market, and of that, Monsanto owns 23% and DuPont 15%. Need I say more? Do take the time to research this topic for yourself. You can read the full article on Monsanto at permaculture.co.uk:

” … Monsanto is buying heirloom seed companies. They are also buying the trademarks to a number of heirloom seeds. This means that you may think you are supporting an heirloom seed company but in reality the company is owned by Monsanto… “

If you live near a cell phone mast … important information; plus, measuring Wi-Fi radiation in your home cheaply

If you have seen the award winning doco on Smart Meters by Josh del Sol, called ‘Take Back Your Power’, you will have heard this story of a young man who occupied a hostel room at his university that was situated near a cell  phone tower or mast. The health effects were very sobering and sadly not uncovered until too late. The story is cited in Katie Singer’s book called ‘An Electronic Silent Spring’.

Lloyd Burrell on his website, electricsense, has provided a review of the book:

Read it HERE: http://www.electricsense.com/9196/emf-electronic-silent-spring-my-review/

MEASURE WI-FI RADIATION IN YOUR HOME … CHEAPLY … also from the electricsense website

This is basically an app for your Android or smartphone that will measure Wi-Fi levels in your home for almost free. On this excellent site Lloyd offers a free report on how to protect yourself from EMFs.

Many folks are experiencing health effects today fromEMFs … and many are not aware of the causes. The industry protects business by concealing the exposure warnings in very fine print. It is not about banning the technology so much as learning how to effectively protect ourselves. Children are particularly vulnerable hence the debate that is going on about Wi-Fi in schools. Educate yourself and read the research … and most importantly learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones. This app would be useful it’s explained, to know where to locate your Wi-Fi access point in your office or home to minimize exposure.

There are links there to purchase the app which is 3 euros, around $3.

Sri Lanka’s New President Puts Immediate Ban on Glyphosate Herbicides … Sustainable Pulse

More on glyphosate … another nation bans it. Since its reclassification by WHO to a class 2A carcinogen, many countries are moving to protect the public:

“Sri Lanka’s newly elected President Maithripala Sirisena announced Friday that the import of the World’s most used herbicide glyphosate will be banned with immediate effect. The release of already imported stocks has also been stopped. Sirisena, a farmer and ex Health Minister,  stated that glyphosate is responsible for the increasing number of chronic kidney disease (CKDu) patients in Sri Lanka and added that the move would protect the Sri Lankan farming community…”

Interview & article on rising sea levels, ‘the greatest lie ever told’ … Dr Mörner

On first consideration, to those who are convinced by the IPCC science, this comes as blasphemy almost. However, consider the evidence … as I did. As many others have.

You may be surprized to learn that a total of 9,000 PhDs have signed a petition denying that CO2 is causing global warming. There are 31,000 scientists in total who have signed that petition.  In addition, 49 former NASA scientists have  written to NASA endorsing the same …  (read their full letter at the source)

Add to all of this (plus much more evidence from professionals found at this link) …. the findings of Dr Nils-Axel  Mörner who has measured sea levels in person, rather than using computer models … and you may be convinced to read more.

Begin with this article from the Telegraph, by Christopher Booker:

QUOTE:

“If one thing more than any other is used to justify proposals that the world must spend tens of trillions of dollars on combating global warming, it is the belief that we face a disastrous rise in sea levels. The Antarctic and Greenland ice caps will melt, we are told, warming oceans will expand, and the result will be catastrophe….

But if there is one scientist who knows more about sea levels than anyone else in the world it is the Swedish geologist and physicist Nils-Axel Mörner, formerly chairman of the INQUA International Commission on Sea Level Change. And the uncompromising verdict of Dr Mörner, who for 35 years has been using every known scientific method to study sea levels all over the globe, is that all this talk about the sea rising is nothing but a colossal scare story…”

Kaibosh eliminates food waste by feeding less fortunate

This is an inspiring report from NZ’s Campbell Live about how waste food from shops and supermarkets, still quite edible, yet destined for landfills, is gathered up and distributed to the less fortunate folks who can’t afford food. This is efficient recycling at its best … with a unique touch of kindness to boot.

vegetables-61896__180

“Earlier this year, Campbell Live covered New Zealand’s $872 million food scandal and highlighted the amount of food we waste and the food we buy to eat but never do.

As a nation, we throw away 122,000 tonnes of food per annum, just from households.

That study got us thinking, and many of you too – what about commercial food waste, uneaten food from supermarkets, cafes and restaurants?

Sadly, most of it is also dumped – but not all.

Campbell Live reporter Jendy Harper spent the day rescuing the food and feeding the less fortunate in Wellington.”

Will Monsanto’s Roundup Herbicide Soon Be Banned?

From Natural Society … this article recapitulates the progress so far in terms of recent mounting evidence:

“It’s not just the WHO that has raised the alarm over Monsanto’s Roundup and its devastating effects on human and environmental health. Instead, the WHO announcement was simply the most widely reported on Roundup study that we have seen. Sadly, it’s not even the most concerning.

It was back in September of 2014 that the  International Journal of Toxicology published a much more alarming piece on the dangers of Roundup entitled “Glyphosate Commercial Formulation Causes Cytotoxicity, Oxidative Effects, and Apoptosis on Human Cells: Differences With its Active Ingredient.” As you can gather from its name, the study highlighted the multitude of ways in which glyphosate is wreaking havoc on human cells…”

KIWIS

P1150806

For Kiwis, remember, New Zealand is an avid user of Roundup and glyphosate. It is recommended in our Tertiary Agricultural textbooks, and touted as being completely harmless. Therefore it is sprayed liberally onto pastures and eaten by the stock headed for the market and our consumption. Hence it is found now in human urine, blood and breast milk. It is used by the keepers of our roads and public spaces in towns, by large contractors as well as small.

Educate yourself, read the data and spread the word. There are currently two petitions circulating in NZ, one for Auckland and one for the Rangitikei. I note that one may be coming for all of NZ, the better option really as it is at government level it needs addressing. Councils continue to repeat that glyphosate is government approved. In the meantime however, please consider signing the petitions and stop the ongoing poisoning of our future.

International Scientists Appeal To U.N. To Protect Humans And Wildlife From EMFs And Wireless

“Today 190 scientists from 39 nations submitted an appeal to the United Nations, UN member states and the World Health Organization (WHO) requesting they adopt more protective exposure guidelines for electromagnetic fields (EMF) and wireless technology in the face of increasing evidence of risk. These exposures are a rapidly growing form of environmental pollution worldwide…”

Video Statement (3 min.) by Martin Blank, PhD

Transcript of Dr. Blank’s presentation: “I’m here with disturbing news about our favorite gadgets: cell phones, tablets, wi-fi, etc.
Putting it bluntly, they are damaging the living cells in our bodies and killing many of us prematurely.

I’m Dr. Martin Blank, from the Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics at Columbia University.

It is distressing for me, and more than 160 colleagues, who today are petitioning the United Nations requesting that they address this problem.

We are scientists and engineers, and I am here to tell you – we have created something that is harming us, and it is getting out of control!iphone-545772__180

Before Edison’s lightbulb, there was very little electromagnetic radiation in our environment.
The levels today are very many times higher than natural background levels and are growing rapidly because of all the new devices that emit this radiation.

An example that a lot of us have in our pockets right now is the cell phone. One study shows that as cell phone usage has spread widely, the incidence of fatal brain cancer in younger people has more than tripled.

We are putting cellular antennas on residential buildings, and on top of hospitals, where people are trying to get well.

123Wireless utility meters, and cell towers, are blanketing our neighborhoods with radiation.

It’s particularly frightening that radiation from our telecommunication and powerline technology is damaging the DNA in our cells. It is clear to many biologists that this can account for the rising cancer rates.

Future generations – OUR CHILDREN – ARE AT RISK.

These biologists and scientists are not being heard on the committees that set safety standards. The BIOLOGICAL facts are being ignored, and as a result, the safety limits are much too high. THEY ARE NOT PROTECTIVE!

More protection will probably result from full disclosure of possible conflicts of interest between regulators and industry.

Rising exposure to electromagnetic radiation is a GLOBAL problem. The World Health Organization and
international standard setting bodies are not acting to protect the public’s health and well-being.boy-110762__180

International exposure guidelines for electromagnetic fields must be strengthened to reflect the reality of their impact on our bodies, and in particular, on our DNA.

Although we are still in the midst of a great technological transformation, the time to deal with the harmful biological and health effects is long overdue.

We are really all part of a large biological experiment, without our informed consent.

To protect our children, ourselves, and our ecosystem, we must reduce exposure by establishing more protective guidelines.

And so, today, scientists from around the world are submitting an Appeal to the United Nations, its member states and the World Health Organization, to provide leadership in dealing with this emerging public health crisis.”

Major oat buyer says no to glyphosate: no more shipments of crops sprayed pre-harvest with deadly herbicide

(NaturalNews) One of Canada’s leading manufacturers of conventional and organic whole grain ingredients used in cereals, breads, bars and many other products served around the world has decided to stop accepting oats sprayed with Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide (glyphosate) prior to harvest, noting consumer preference as a major contributing factor to this decision.

Court upholds $50 million award for girl whose life was destroyed by Johnson & Johnson’s Children’s Motrin

This case is shocking. As I recall, Johnson & Johnson was always a trusted brand. I spoke recently with some women in their senior years who all nodded at that name as being trusted. Trust unfortunately is a word that doesn’t feature so prominently nowadays. Corporations regularly fail in their promises it seems … and if you doubt this please watch the doco entitled ‘The Corporation’. You will find it here on the Corporations page. It will explain to you how this all happened … how a corporation functions … to whom its first loyalties are. Be aware, it is not you, the customer by any stretch of the imagination. And so here, we have a big corporation being ordered to pay $50 million to an injured child, when in the bigger picture, in light of the profits made, that sum of money is not all that large. And not compared to the suffering this child and her family have endured. As always with these sad and unfortunate stories, we need to be aware to read the very fine print and do our own private research on medications. The information is there but is seldom given to us unless requested.

“(NaturalNews) The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court upheld a lower court’s judgment that pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson should be required to pay $50 million to a girl who suffered a rare but devastating side effect from Children’s Motrin when she was seven years old. The judgment took more than a decade to be reached.

Samantha Reckis experienced toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), which burned off 90 percent of her skin, destroyed 80 percent of her lung capacity and left her blind. Only luck and the efforts of her doctors prevented her from dying or suffering permanent brain damage…”

Landfill expansion granted consents … surprized?

I’m not faintly surprised at this decision. The day I attended the hearing and heard the ‘independent’ Chair’s Freudian slip … “When the consent is granted …”  illustrated quite graphically for me, the extent of the independence of the commission. In addition, all the concerns that any community would naturally have … leachate, trucks, property values … all these were effectively taken off the table. Hamstrung from the start. It is the neighbors of the landfill in particular who will have to live with this. And all those conditions … I’ll be watching keenly to see how strictly they’re adhered to. If it’s anything like the vigilance we have with other consents and pollution of our environment of late, it’s going to be an interesting road forwards.

“The Bonny Glen landfill expansion has been given the go-ahead.

The landfill’s owners, Midwest Disposals has been granted all resource consents to expand the operation.

The decision, released yesterday afternoon, granted the consents for 35 years with land use consents in perpetuity.

It means the size and life of Bonny Glen, near Marton, will increase significantly over the next four decades. The capacity will increase almost five-fold….”

Bees and Glyphosate

Bee Poster

Currently in the Rangitikei, as in many other places, Roundup is the herbicide of choice for cleaning up weeds. Recently however, the World Health Organization (WHO) has taken recognition of the decades of independent research that warns of its health risk. WHO is warning people of the fact that it probably causes cancer. Check out the Glyphosate page on this site for further information on that.

Roundup, the herbicide of choice that contains glyphosate and is toxic to our bees

Personally I approached the Rangitikei District Council (RDC) twelve months ago to warn them of these dangers and make known to them the vast amount of research that exists linking it with not only cancer but many other illnesses including birth defects. Now, add to this another damning factor … its toxicity to bees. Bees are essential for pollinating our plants. As the poster above conveys, experts confirm that if the bees die off, we humans could well follow. Our toxic environments are destroying the very organisms that ensure the continuation of life on planet earth.

That said, the RDC is not convinced by either the extensive research or any announcements by WHO. Currently in fact, going by the last time I heard them discuss this (March 2015) they are of the opinion that I am the only person in the Rangitikei who is concerned about this. We now have a petition that indicates there are in fact another 97 who are. Good news. If you are connected with the Rangitikei, spend any time visiting, live here or intend to, please consider signing the petition.

Watch for further updates and information on the role of bees in our food chain.

Is Wi-Fi making your child ill? – from the NZ Herald

“Six years ago, Dr Erica Mallery-Blythe moved to the country, stopped carrying a mobile phone and sacrificed a successful career in emergency medicine to focus on a new medical interest – radiation emitted by Wi-Fi, mobiles and other wireless devices.

She is now one of the country’s few professional advisers on medical conditions related to radiofrequency (RF) radiation and other electromagnetic fields (EMFs)…”

Colombia gov’t confirms suspension of aerial coca spraying – Reuters

More news on the glyphosate front as more and more people wake up to the toxicity of glyphosate based herbicides. May the trend continue until it is hopefully banned altogether.

“Colombia will suspend aerial fumigation of illegal coca plants in light of a number of studies linking the herbicide involved to cancer, a move that marks the end of a decades-long strategy in the country’s fight against drug trafficking.

Spraying coca leaves, which are used to make cocaine, has been a key part of Colombia’s efforts to curb production of some 300 tonnes of cocaine a year that make it one of the world’s biggest producers of the drug…”

Australia First to Introduce a Compulsory Tax on Money Itself … a warning

This signals a warning to folks with money in the bank. Banks are not averse to trimming your accounts as they already did in Greece. That was the Open Bank Resolution (OBR). When their poor practices fail it is you the customer who tends to be paying for their mistakes. Educate yourself and be warned. Here your savings will be taxed.

“The new compulsory control is provided in the 2015 Australian budget, so that everyone who has any savings must pay taxes on their savings. The measure is expected to serve as a global test balloon for Europe and North America, who will watch for the outcome in Australia. If there is no massive resistance of Australian savers, the rest of the world should expect this outright confiscation very rapidly…”

International Doctors Demand Immediate Ban on Glyphosate Herbicides … from GM Watch

This is from the Feed the World website and via GM Watch, by Claire Robinson.

“The International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE) has written to officials of the EU Parliament and Commission asking for an immediate ban on glyphosate herbicides and four insecticides judged by the World Health Organisation’s cancer agency, IARC, to be probable carcinogens.

The letter states that glyphosate herbicides are associated with health problems such as birth defects, infertility, damage to the nervous system, Parkinson’s disease and several forms of cancer.

The letter adds, “for safeguarding the health of European populations, ISDE states that the rational basis is already strong enough” to justify an immediate and permanent ban…”

Rainwater collection being criminalized in U.S. – from Natural News

This is alarming to say the least … is it a sign of things to come? As yet New Zealanders are not prevented from collecting rainwater … and may it remain that way. On the other hand, as per my previous post, the competition here is hotting up with corporations already extracting our precious water resources and selling them abroad.

This article is from Natural News:

(NaturalNews) You might be aware that it is illegal to collect rainwater on your own property in some states, but did you know that doing so could actually land you in jail? That is exactly what is happening to Gary Harrington of Eagle Point, Oregon. He is now facing a 30-day jail sentence and fines of more than $1,500.

His crime? Harrington has been collecting rainwater in three reservoirs on his property, and the government doesn’t like it. In Oregon, all water is considered property of the state whether it flows from the tap or falls from the sky.

Water Wars in ‘Clean Green’ NZ?

Most people who subscribe to truth sites similar to this one will be aware that water is becoming the new ‘gold’. This was ‘prophesied’ in a sense by Maude Barlow and Tony Clarke in their book called ‘Blue Gold the Battle Against Corporate Theft of the World’s Water’ (2001), a very interesting and informative read. (The documentary of the same name is on Bitchute.)

Here in NZ recent news items have questioned ‘who owns our water?’  https://www.nzherald.co.nz/kahu/debate-who-owns-the-water/VIVM3S5TCFZ3R5M75H67ORJ3NA/
‘Nobody’,
says the current PM John Key …  and yet a Hawkes Bay bottling plant (Chinese owned) has been sold pretty cheap rights to bottle and export 900 million liters per year. While locals who wish to water their orchards are required to pay for it.  Read the explanations for this and to the average citizen they sound like gobbledy gook … citing the Resource Management Act (RMA) and spun in legal rhetoric most of us can’t understand. This is the way of big business.

NZ’s Maori King, King Tuheitia says Maori “have always owned the water.”  In August 2012, the Waitangi Tribunal found that Māori still have residual proprietary rights in water and the Crown would breach the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi if it went ahead with the sale of State owned power company share sales. Maori customary title, according to the 2003 “Ngati Apa” decision of the Court of Appeal, must be lawfully extinguished before it can be regarded as ceasing to exist. Customary rights, although not ownership in a Lockean sense, says the NZ Herald, still represent more than the relegation of Maori to being non-owners of non-ownable water. Indeed, when acquiring the land for the Crown, the Queen solemnly agreed for Maori to retain “full exclusive and undisturbed possession of their Lands and Estates Forests Fisheries and other properties which they may collectively or individually possess…”

Still it appears perfectly legal in the case of Hawke’s Bay, for the local council there to sell an offshore corporation the rights to extract large quantities, even though, as John Key argues, nobody owns it.

For the purposes of introduction here, water and one’s right to it is becoming somewhat complicated.  There are places on the planet where the powers that be have integrated into law the prohibition of collecting it for personal consumption. As insane as this may sound it is factually true. As always, follow the money trail.

Corporations are seeking to privatise our water commons for a profit (and yes it was always considered one’s right to water is sacrosanct). Exemplifying their typical avarice for more and more profits, they seek to gobble up all the water resources and rights to them it seems, and sell them back to us at exorbitant prices.

The company Nestlé is guilty of this. Whilst its chairman Peter Brabeck-Letmathe  proclaims water is a human right, the company is busily selling off drought-stricken California’s water. Nestle owns 70% of the world’s bottled water brands.

This is the way of corporations. They are seldom for the people and always for their shareholders. Separate entities with legal personhood they manage to do just about anything their shareholders wish for them to do whilst escaping accountability for any damage they incur.

A few years back in Cochabamba Bolivia, a large corporation had privatised the water and was charging around half the income of the poor to buy it off them. So oppressive did this become it ended up with riots and even loss of life to oust the corporation and return to the previous status quo.  If there is anything you should learn on this site it is that corporations are not generally kindly companies that wish to help people. (Please watch ‘The Corporation’ movie).  Any intimation from them that they wish you well is generally just rhetoric to appease you or persuade you you to buy.  This attack on the rights of people to drink the essence of life, (and it is well established that water is essential to life itself) is a huge attack on our ultimate freedoms. Fifty years ago this line of thinking would be unheard of … unthinkable. As I’ve pointed out often here, fifty years ago most households had their own water tanks to collect rainwater. That was standard practice. And yet, today it is being put to us as being right and proper that we should not be collecting it at all. We have been seriously duped by little increments that corporations can, but not we the people. Lest I be misunderstood here, I am not against water conservation. I simply believe, like most ordinary folks, that water should not be virtually given to corporations to profiteer with, at the expense of locals who need it for day to day survival.

Welcome then to the water wars. And I’ve not even touched on water pollution and our health. In the meantime, be sure to stand up for water rights wherever they are being quietly, or not so quietly, whittled away. Next we will be charged for the air we breathe. Such is life in the twenty first century. If the water wars are new to you begin by watching the documentary Blue Gold.

Monsanto knew 35 years ago that its glyphosate-soaked ‘food’ causes cancer

From the NaturalNews website … more damning information on glyphosate. The stream of articles on this product is constant. Bear in mind, scientists have been raising this alarm for years, spending a great deal of time researching this supposedly safe herbicide ingredient, their warnings falling largely on deaf ears. WHO’s recent public recognition and acknowledgement of its toxicity is now opening a floodgate of reaction world wide.

“(NaturalNews) Key data outlining the toxicity of glyphosate (Roundup) was recently uncovered, revealing that Monsanto knew about the cancer-causing effects of its best-selling herbicide more than 35 years ago, as did the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and yet neither entity chose to make this information known in the interest of public health. Both Monsanto and the EPA knew full well, at least as early as 1981, that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup herbicide causes cancer in mammals….”
