1. A pesticide common in the 1800’s was called Paris Green. A green liquid because it was a combination of copper and arsenic or lead and arsenic. Some of the most toxic substances known to humankind. This super toxin was also used as a dye, in many items, including wall paper and paint. 2. This pesticide worked by causing neurological damage in the bugs, causing organ failure.

3. Polio consists of symptoms synonymous with neurological damage, causing organ failure.

8. Parents reported finding their children paralyzed in and around apple orchards. One of the most heavily pesticide sprayed crops of the time (with lead arsenate or copper arsenate) were apple orchards. Paris green – Wikipedia Both lead and arsenate can cause paralysis but that paralysis is tied to visible poisons, not invisible viruses. Imagine a plot to continually poison the public for control based purposes and to have the public focus on invisible viruses and not the visible poisons? How far would such a plot get? Is such a plot still occurring to this very day, using the same strategies and blue prints?

Summer again is when these paralysis based outbreaks would occur, as spraying of crops with extremely toxic chemicals would intensify as the crops hit a fully mature state. The pesticides we’re talking about were DESIGNED to terminate nervous system function in the bugs, which is exactly what “polio presents as. Is polio connected to a very long history of complicit poisoning of the population by industry, government, science and medicine. The chemical companies were poisoning the American people and some people from academia were making accusations that this was being done purposely to increase the power of a corrupt government, over the resulting dysfunctional and toxic masses. Create a problem, declare that something must be done, rally the government to start giving money to this organization or that to solve the problem (owned by friends in government) and then declare the problem has been fixed……..but what if the problem was purposely manufactured and the solving of the problem also manufactured? Do we have any evidence of the problem being created and also solved in manipulative ways?

12. In 1956 the AMA (The American Medical Association) instructed each licensed medical doctor that they could no longer classify polio as polio, or their license to practice would be terminated. This is purposely designed to obfuscate the public’s understanding of what causes paralysis, which is heavy metal poisoning plus vaccine induced autoimmunity……that ends with the body attacking and destroying its’ own nervous system pathways, in an rabid attempt to clean itself of the injected toxins. Guillian Barre and paralysis, as listed vaccine side effects, are also a way to get the public running east looking for a sunset, keeping them as far away as possible from connecting the dots around this medical polio obfuscation. Aluminum and mercury are ingredients in most (if not all) vaccines today and both are proven to cause paralysis and motor neuron destruction………..known as many different names, depending on just how much the science/medical authority figure in the room wants to lead you astray that day. Polio Planned To Be Used To Coverup Vaccine Caused Guillain-Barré Syndrome (odysee.com) Here we see how mercury can cause paralysis (Japan’s Ominous Dancing Cats and the Disaster That Followed) and cause nerve damage. Here and here we see that aluminum can also cause paralysis and obviously death as well.. 13. The first polio vaccine was worked on by Dr. Jonas Salk and human experiments using this vaccine were conducted purposely on orphans in government/church run institutions because they were vulnerable and didn’t require any parental consent signatures, as they had no parents. The vaccine was “declared safe” by “medicine” (as they always are even though that vaccine was killing and paralyzing monkeys in test trials) and that vaccine gave 40,000 orphans polio, permanently paralyzed hundreds and killed at least 10 children. All injuries and deaths under reported of course by the same authorities who orchestrated the atrocity. This was called The Cutter Incident (The Cutter Incident – Vaccines Do Harm). A focused attack on defenseless children, by people charged with their care. A poisoning of innocent children and then the excuses and apologies, regarding how it won’t happen again. Is this pattern still occurring today? The answer is obvious. In this attached link regarding the Cutter Incident where vulnerable children were purposely targeted, the killing of the children is advertised as “a great help to science” in better understanding the disease. Today we also have kids dying from a vaccine and the similarities don’t stop there.  The Vaccine is Killing Kids (odysee.com) Salk was praised as a hero for not patenting the polio vaccine that carried his name but legally if you patent something, you’re also legally liable when it hurts someone. Salk wasn’t a hero. Is targeting the population with poison and then declaring the poison a disease an on going cycle in our modern world, which also ends with a toxic vaccine that only produces more disease? Such cycles of attacking the public over and over again is often referred to as “disaster capitalism“. Disaster capitalism drives profit for the attacking group into the stratosphere and also increases political control of the group receiving the perpetual shock doctrine.

The next “improved” polio vaccine, given to hundreds of millions, carried both the SV 40 cancer virus as well as the AIDS virus…..or so it was said to carry cancer causing and AIDS causing viruses………but it didn’t. What that vaccine carried was more poison, more heavy metals and more toxins……proven to kill and cripple. Every step of the way, we had medicine declaring  that they knew for sure, that this time, they had everything straightened out and that The Cutter Incident would not repeat itself. Same story then, same story now. The only thing larger than the pile of broken medical and government promises regarding polio, vaccines and disease eradication…..is the pile of broken and dead bodies that rockets skywards as medicine, science and government continually apply failed healing protocols to a heavily indoctrinated and bewildered public. Vaccines are Cancer. In short, the people who are poisoning you want you to believe that invisible viruses are making you sick and killing you, instead of their very visible poisons. 15. In the book Virus Mania, top scientists in the field declare that polio doesn’t and has never qualified as a viral disease because it fails to spread from person to person or animal to animal. If it’s not a viral disease, then what is it? The answer is heavy metal and other forms of toxic poisoning that causes partial or full paralysis. (destruction of the nervous system). The polio con job, ranked as 1 of the top 10 medical con jobs of all time, is clearly described in this selected chapter of the book “Dissolving Illusions” by leading medical doctor, Dr. Suzanne Humphries. The reason so much effort is placed into medical con jobs like this is to continually infuse the public with false fear regarding viruses that don’t exist, and also to provide false hope and blind faith belief in toxic vaccines and poisonous medications, which only worsen a population’s overall health status. Why would anyone do this? Again, this is when a confused citizen needs to investigate EUGENICS and the history (and families) behind that movement. The end result is the same, regardless of medical ambush. The elite groups who organize such fraud based operations increase tyrannical control over a diseased, die-empowered, depressed, dis-satisfied, dis-oriented and dumbed down population. Such a population is easier to control, steal from, manipulate and govern. It’s not really about polio or viruses, it’s about poisoning the population into a chemical lobotomized state that ends with increased elite domination and iron fist control. How did 80% of North Americans come to become extremely unhealthy in our most technologically advanced era? The answer is……because this has always been the design of the system. What you see today with COVID and the COVID vaccines falls is a cycle similar to what we observe with polio and the polio vaccines.

17. On a related note, Jonas Salk, the inventor of the first polio vaccine……..eventually wrote a book. It contains his personal views on the general public and how the society is meant to advance, under the new scientific dictatorship. Salk openly endorses the medical system and associated power groups kill at will to achieve this groups very dark goals. A perfect actor to develop the polio vaccine, which is simply another needle full of poison, which can easily manipulate the public to line up for……suing the right mind control and propaganda techniques.

18. Did the Polio Vaccine Really Eradicate Polio (odysee.com) even more data showing that sickness, mimicking polio symptoms ,are experienced more frequently by people with an unhealthy diet. People receiving the polio vaccine (and other vaccines) were much more likely to be ill in general and present polio like symptoms. Disease isn’t a poison deficiency. Disease is caused by a surplus of poisons and the documented toxins in all vaccines PACK A WALLOP!

My ears practically perked up when I read that one Dr. HC Emerson, investigating a ‘polio’ outbreak in 1907, discovered that a) no polio cases in exclusively breastfed infants b) the eating of fresh fruits and vegetables preceded the onset of ‘poliomyelitis’ in many others.

Barber (1939) reported four cases of ‘polio’ that occurred the same day as strawberries were eaten, in a boarding school house.

Chenault (1941) noted the parallels between ‘polio’ outbreaks and the appearance of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Draper (1935) reported a case series of ‘polio’ which he theorized originated from a Greek fruiterer.

Naturally, I had to do some digging on this…and discovered…

Before DDT spraying, there was ARSENIC spraying!

In 1929, almost 30 million pounds of lead arsenate or calcium arsenate were sprayed in the fields and orchards of America. In fact, the government was so enthusiastic about the use of arsenic, that in 1935, an FDA-hosted radio program suggested the old nursery rhyme “A is for Apple” should be changed to: “A is for arsenate, Lead if you please, protector of apples against arch-enemies.”

In 1919, Boston Health Department was forced to destroy arsenic-coated apples because people were getting sick.

Scientists say the earth is still tainted with the residue, and believe lands once used to raise cotton, is now responsible for arsenic found in rice. Arsenate pesticides were officially banned in the US, in the 1980’s, but “modifed arsenates” are still used on cotton crops today. China, meanwhile, kept using arsenate sprays beyond 2000, and it is suspected they are still using them illegally.

Note the symptoms of acute arsenic poisoning = fever, vomiting and nausea, headache, sore throat etc. Chronic poisoning = polyneuritis and paralysis, especially in the extremities.

Also note that Franklin D. Roosevelt, who was crippled by ‘polio’ in 1921, at age 39 years, also owned an apple orchard where the family used to spend their summers, and he used to swim regularly in the pond nearby…At the time, mostly children were affected, and it was considered rare for adults to have ‘polio’.

The Great Poisoning and The Great Weakening Agendas – How To Protect Yourself and Your Family

The great weakening is something I’ve written and talked about extensively. The great poisoning is something Catherine Austin Fitts has talked about extensively. They’re both basically the same concept. We’re all living inside what’s often referred to as 5th generation warfare, which is a major advancement above conventional warfare strategy.

For anyone who doesn’t understand 5th generation warfare, please allow me to explain. In regular warfare (from 4th generation warfare backwards), we would see an invading force (usually motivated by theft) coming into an area they don’t yet govern, with the intention of enriching themselves via the resources of that invaded area. Within old style conventional warfare, the assets that the invading force were targeting to steal, often get destroyed. That’s the big drawback of conventional warfare. If you’re going to start a war and steal other people’s resources, which aren’t rightfully yours (and you’re going to risk everything involved with that) you certainly don’t want those prized resources getting destroyed as you’re invading.

Obviously, this older method of war isn’t so profitable in many situations, where the war itself destroys the assets that you’re trying to steal. That’s where 5th generation warfare comes into play and why it’s so popular today.

In 5th generation warfare, you use psychological manipulation, mind control, brainwashing and behavior modification to trick the people you’re targeting….to destroy themselves and destroy every form of strength they could ever use to resist your invasion. After that (which can often take decades to accomplish), with the public’s wealth and assets intact, you send in the cleanup crew to fully take over the area. You make the people too weak, too dumb, too fat, too addicted and too apathetic to fight back…..even if their full enslavement is implemented right in front of them.

Just an FYI update…. you’re now living in the last stages of a 5th generation warfare takeover attempt. In conventional warfare, you would always know that you were being invaded because of the bombs, the infantry, the barbwire, the missiles, the tanks and the explosions. With 5th generation warfare it’s the ever-growing number of Starbucks stores, the Coca-Cola trucks, the vaccine clinics, the chemtrails, the toxic beauty care products, the Teflon pans, the fluoride toothpaste, the mercury teeth fillings, the mammograms, the pesticide laden nonorganic food everywhere at the grocery store etc. With 5th generation warfare, it’s all about a gradual slow-motion slide into a full-spectrum weakening operation of the human body, mind, soul, spirit and bank account. 

The great weakening is a government and media endorsed living model…..based on perpetual pleasure seeking, self-gratification, gluttony and hedonism. The vast majority of people in the Western world today (especially in Canada, Australia, the UK and the United States) are excessively overweight, brain damaged, weak, diseased and financially broke. (living pay cheque to pay cheque, where one small financial emergency could wipe them out completely) This is all by design.

No human can end up this broken if they live within their natural habitat. This is all socially engineered. This is the result of “the mind control based great weakening”. Well over 50% of Western populations are too overweight, sick, broke and apathetic to defend themselves……as is the goal of any 5th generation warfare operation. The overweight, wheel chaired, handicapped, brain damaged, toxic and addicted population isn’t natural. What we see in our cities today is the result of 5th gen warfare.  

Oddly enough, this 5th gen warfare model has been applied more to the United States population than any other country, simply because the US contains the most asset wealth to steal. 70% of US adults are now obese or overweight. 50% of US children are now in the same boat. Most are addicted to cycles of perpetual self-destruction, using their bodies as disposable fun factories from which they extract max perpetual pleasure……using a very wide array of the state and media sponsored fun chemicals. (caffeine, alcohol, junk food, narcotics, medical narcotics, sugar, tobacco, screen entertainment etc.) 

But that’s not the only way “the great weakening” has been implemented, upon a completely uninformed population. Most people genuinely believe that they’re just living a great, sedated, fun and distraction-based lifestyle. Most folks equate their absolute destruction via poison as “the good life“. The person poisoning themselves the most on social media is adored and admired. The public poisoners who celebrate their love of poisons get the most likes, comments and shares…..via their never-ending alcohol selfies. The average person (especially in the US) doesn’t know that the cleanup crew is about to be sent in.

The US government (for example) isn’t sending the national guard, to many major American cities, to fight crime. That’s the easily digestible excuse, handcrafted so that the average TV watcher cheers on and endorses what was always planned to occur. The complete collapse (financial to begin) is coming and that’s when the national guard in the US will take full control of everybody, regardless if democrat or republican. This isn’t a blue vs red political party issue either. A population this unhealthy can’t survive and was never intended to survive. The US is the most asset laden country on the planet and its population is 70% obese and overly medicated. What did you think was going to happen and do you really think this is all one big accident? Please, people…….it’s no accident. The great poisoning is now about to transform into THE GREAT TAKING…..as is clearly outlined in the documentary of the same name. The asset theft has been going on a long time and is about to accelerate dramatically. It will be like taking candy from a baby, literally.

As I review where we all sit right now, please keep in mind that this is a) all by design b) was purposely socially engineered over the last 100 years and c) is now too severe to fix or remedy. What’s coming is coming. Solutions and safe positions will only be available to people who know what’s happening and why it’s happening.

Let’s quickly review. We have a population that has been poisoned for at least 100 years straight, on an ever-increasing scale, with the end goal being the complete theft of all public assets, or as many assets as the ruling group can get away with. The younger the person is, the sicker they are in general. (mostly because they’ve received the most injected poison of our population) The school system has purposely dumbed down the children, where many have lost their will to live, their genetic self-preservation mechanisms are almost extinguished. Seniors are being purposely euthanized in our hospitals. Canada’s MAID program (Medical Assistance in Dying) is expanding its reach. MAID is now being offered to more and more people, as they simply enter Canadian hospitals looking for basic medical care. If you’re weak and poisoned (and are still walking above ground), the system is being continually engineered to flush you right down the toilet. Saying that, there are obvious solutions that will end in you making it through all this with flying colors. 

Logically, if the ruling group’s agenda is poisoning and weakening….the solution is health and strengthening. Simple stuff. What’s really important to understand is that most people are poisoning and weakening themselves because they’re under mind control. What is happening in Queensland is part of a much larger picture of unprecedented global government cruelty to our valuable farmers, especially in Western countries.

It’s also part of the Marxist Agenda 2030, from the UN, which has a plan to bring The People to our knees through famine and war and societal division, in order that they can usher in fully digital ID and control, as well as centralised financial control of the human race that they aim to treat like second class citizens of the world, in just the same way that has been done in China.

A New Zealander whose name I have on record, relates a story of his lucky escape from 1080 poisoning during the 1980s. He reflects on how he could have gone the same way as his three dogs all tragically poisoned by 1080 pellets …. one he had to shoot to put out of its misery.

“During the 1980s I was living on a ten acre block bordering native forest and Lake Taupo above the cliffs adjacent to the Waihi waterfall. They put a sign up saying 1080 had been dropped but at that time there were no media explanations about how 1080 worked and they said it was for rats and possums only. I’d never really heard about 1080. I came across a deer that looked like it had just died. It was in prime condition and I was wondering if 1080 worked like cyanide in which case I was going to take some meat home for the table. While I was making up my mind my dog started running around in circles and the blood vessels in his eyes started exploding. There was a deathly silence. No birds nothing. I looked at the deer and it’s eyes were the same as my dog. My dog saved my whole family. That day is emblazoned in my mind and I will never forget it as long as I live. I thought that I had stumbled into hell. I went into the bush with three dogs that day and came out with none. I just didn’t see what happened to the other two.
The emotional anguish I felt that day is right up there with the worst experiences of my unsheltered life. It was decades later that I educated myself totally about 1080 and realized how lucky I was that I never chopped some meat off that deer. We were on rainwater from our roof and our house was meters from the bush edge but they only dropped on the other side of the state highway where there were no buildings.

DOC can say what it likes.

I don’t believe them because I have seen the truth.”

There is now a familiar litany of scientifically insupportable claims about what great things aerial 1080, a universal poison, is doing for our forest ecosystems. The people of New Zealand have a right to know the truth about what the scientific evidence shows.

We have audited Department of Conservation scientific research and produced an 88-page monograph reviewing more than 100 scientific papers.

The results are startling and belie most of the department’s claims.

First, there is no credible scientific evidence showing that any species of native bird benefits from the dropping of tonnes of 1080 into our forest ecosystems, as claimed by the department and Kevin Hackwell. There is certainly no evidence of net ecosystem benefit.

We have repeatedly challenged DoC and Mr Hackwell, a representative of the Forest and Bird Society, to come forward with the hard scientific evidence for their “dead forest” claims. They have not.

Second, considerable evidence exists that DoC’s aerial 1080 operations are doing serious harm, as one would expect, given that 1080 is toxic to all animals. It kills large numbers of native species of birds, invertebrates and bats.

Moreover, most native species are completely unstudied. In addition considerable evidence shows there are chronic and sublethal effects to vertebrate endocrine and reproductive systems, possibly including those of humans.

Third, DoC claims that one can drop food laced with 1080, a universal poison (World Health Organisation classification “1A extremely hazardous”) indiscriminately into a semi-tropical forest ecosystem and only negatively affect one or two target “pest” species. That is counterintuitive and scientifically improbable.

Fourth, as far as we can determine no other country in the world is doing (or has ever done) anything remotely similar – mass poisoning of a semi-tropical ecosystem on the scale that the department is now doing to ours.

Fifth, and perhaps most disturbing, is that what the department-sponsored research shows has been habitually misrepresented – entirely unjustifiable assertions regarding 1080’s benefits and lack of harm.

Statements like those of Mr Hackwell that the forests will be “dead” without poisoning them with 1080, and from John McLennan (Landcare Research) and Al Morrison (then Director General of DoC) that 1080 is existentially necessary to Kiwis is pure demagoguery and scientific nonsense.

What is at risk by continuation of this extraordinary practice – and it is unique in the world – is the ecological integrity of our forest ecosystems, our reputation as an environmentally sane and responsible country, and our existence as a society in which reason and rationality can triumph over bureaucratic prerogative and budgetary gain.

Since Galileo Galilee first discovered the moons of Jupiter in the 17th century, the way to resolve this kind of disagreement has been to do the experiment and examine the evidence, and that is precisely what we urge everyone to do.

Don’t believe DoC. Don’t believe Mr Hackwell. Don’t believe us – believe the evidence. To that end we will provide a copy of our report and the source scientific research papers to all who would like to read them.

Rentokil Initial Takes Over the Aerial Poisoning of New Zealand

I was only talking to Ben Rubin the other day about the international successful brand awareness of Initial. We see that logo in every public loo in the world. I’m not sure when Rentokil and Initial become one and the same (?) But perhaps the covid era theatre of extreme-hygiene was made specially for/by this chemical marriage.

Pests and viruses – same thing. Both presented by the media as ugly, hated and needing to be endlessly ‘eradicated’.

Surely everyone needs Rentokil Initial’s innovative ‘virus-killing-automatic-air-sanitiser’ for example. Wow! Profits have soared. So much so, expansion to New Zealand has meant Rentokil’s acquisition of that special ‘boys-club’ that forms the 1080 aerial-poisoning NZ Government sub/contractors. But do Kiwis know about Rentokil’s dark secret in its home country of England, involving a very similar toxin from over sixty years ago?

here. Like the hideous Agent Orange, toxic 1080 (sodium monofluoroacetate) keeps raining down on us, apparently to kill the ‘pests’, in a physical and psychological attack. In a blatant contradiction to the Manufacturers Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) the colourful, glossy propaganda still (unbelievably) insists this lethal, indiscriminate poison, with no antidote, is ‘natural’, ‘biodegrades’ and of course, is totally ‘safe and effective’.

In case anyone is still doubtful about the lies evident in the above example of NZ Dept of Conservation propaganda, let’s look briefly at how synthetic 1080 is manufactured, before it’s added to the green-coloured, sugar-laden, cereal food-baits and then distributed in tonnes by helicopters over our land and water. Ethyl fluoroacetate, sodium hydroxide and ethanol are mixed together. These chemicals are so lethal, with sub-lethal consequences completely untested and unknown and the process so specialized, that up until now, there appears only one company in the world using it – Tull Chemical Co, Oxford, Alabama (conveniently, it recently burned down, but more on that rabbit hole another day). By examining the Manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) of ethyl fluoroacetate alone, this provides an insight into the known unknowns of the impact of being in contact with this chemical:

“Material is extremely destructive to tissue of the mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract, eyes, and skin., Cough, Shortness of breath, Headache, Nausea, To the best of our knowledge, the chemical, physical, and toxicological properties have not been thoroughly investigated.”

Here’s an extract from the toxicity section of the MSDS for the 1080 poisoned-food cereal baits, confirming the unknown risks:

 

There is no antidote. This poison should never be released from the sky and spread indiscriminately. The CDC webpage on 1080 poisoning symptoms seems to have been removed recently, but here is the WayBack Machine’s capture from a few months ago which clearly states the dangers from the ‘unlikely’ inhalation. Apart from it’s not ‘unlikely’ if, against the manufacturer’s instructions, it’s dropped from the sky! As Aly Cook sang a few years back (in another unsuccessful attempt to halt an operation): “Stop the drop of the poison rain; how can mankind be so insane?”:

Impacts of Toxic Chemicals & Poisons Across New Zealand are Overwhelming and Disturbing

The volunteer committee of the citizen-led New Zealand People’s Inquiry (of which I’m a member) have this week publicly released the collection of written submissions into the impacts and effects of toxic chemicals and poisons on the people, wildlife and environment of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Government contractors were understandably labelled ‘cowboys’ by a Chief Medical Officer of Health in a past meeting I attended. That’s because evidence from EPA annual reports and other outcomes shows these companies often have no regard for valid risk assessments, health and safety policies or public consultation processes. For a shocking example of the latter, you can see this evidence from Dr Wendy Pond during the Peoples Inquiry 2020 where a ‘sign off’ approving an aerial poisoning operation was forged, because the tribal elder named, had already passed away. Where is the accountability?

But where was the accountability for Rentokil after the Smarden Affair? Back in 1963, a poison closely related to 1080, fluoroacetamide, was deliberately dumped into a ditch serving a farming community in Kent, UK. This BBC archive summarises the tragic story (2.5 mins). Decades pass. Regardless, the propaganda of BigChem continues. That UK poisoning led to pyres that burned the contaminated herds. Sound familiar?

These memories resurfaced when in 1985 farmers at Smarden discovered the first case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in Kent and a number of further cases followed. Twelve years later, a perceived cluster of cases of new variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD) in the Smarden area led to speculation that this human form of BSE was caused by excessive exposure to pesticides. Reports in the press suggested that the residents of Smarden suspected the incident had been some sort of government-controlled experiment and subsequent cover-up which had produced BSE.

Wrote John Clark, Senior Lecturer in History, University of St Andrews back in 2017. [Must be a conspiracy theorist, eh?].

In this latest Annual Report, Rentokil Initial boast about the ‘respectful engagement with communities’ (communities that they are about to poison?) by ‘building strong local knowledge’ and ‘lasting relationships’. (maybe with NDAs?) The report goes on to list the four NZ contractors swallowed-up by BigChem Rentokil:

It is EcoFX listed above which repeatedly undertook the aerial poisoning of Pirongia mountain. The drinking-water catchment is located there, serving the local communities, including the schools and the in-bed-with-Government milk-processing plant, Fonterra. Evidence shows that the aerial poisoning with 1080 over Mt Pirongia (like similar operations) includes distributing the poison over the water at the same rate as the land (this saves the ‘cowboys’ money in helicopter fuel and labour hours and therefore maximises profits). Here’s an example of that crime from ten years ago (10 mins):

 

The latest 1080 poison operation has been announced for nearby Mt Moehau for July this year. The last operation was only three years ago (usually it is every 4-7 years). The frequency and intensity and toxicity of these 1080 aerial poisonings are increasing nationwide. On the residents’ communication for Mt Moehau, no mention of Rentokil Initial, only of EcoFX in the pseudo-consultation invitation:

 

On EcoFX website, they claim to be ‘part of the Rentokil Initial Group’, as if that is something to be proud of:

 

It’s interesting to note that EcoFX isn’t a registered NZ Company. The ceased Director is listed as Director/Shareholder of One Degree Ltd and One Foot Investments (unknown entities). Rentokil Initial NZ (strangely, 100% shareholders are Rentokil Spain, not UK) are using the old contractors as ‘trading names’. This could be confusing for anyone trying to engage with the Government or contractor about the consultation process or the inevitable lethal consequences that come with indiscriminate aerial poisoning. And believe me, they are inevitable.

“Safe and effective?” Yeah, nah.

We’ve learnt from the last five years that nothing is quite what it seems. That media mantra ‘Clean, Green, 100% Pure New Zealand’ is another myth. It’s time people woke up to the BigChem capture of our so-called Environmental Protection Authority alongside our healthcare systems. These entities only seek to perpetuate our sickness.

I contest, and few awake folk will deny, that we have all been submitted to poisoning … globally … our food, air (here also), water, our entire environment in fact… for a very long time. Aside from spraying our food with pesticides, the soil’s been poisoned, consequently our food. NZ in particular has been subjected to an incredibly intense and vast 60+ years long exposure to deadly 1080 poisoning, described by our official environmental agency DoC as harmless when broken down in water.  Add to that all the poisoning Austin Fitts describes. It’s everywhere… and those ‘in charge’ ensure you cannot successfully oppose it (It’s the same here).  EWNZ

Fitts notes that this Great Poisoning is executed via means including “vaccines” and is being implemented in order to balance retirement savings and the actuarial books. The former Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development notes that those who attempt to “course correct” the Great Poisoning get fired, shot, or assassinated.

“I started to talk about this in the late ’90s. America has been in a process that I call the Great Poisoning, of which vaccines are a part, but they’re only a part,” Fitts says. “And…the goal of poisoning the population is intentional. And one of the reasons it’s intentional is it’s the only way you can balance the retirement savings in the actuarial books that I know of.”

“I’ve spent a lot of time basically talking and educating people about the government’s refusal to obey the financial management laws and the fact that large amounts of money are disappearing from the federal government,” Fitts adds. “And I teamed up with Dr. Mark Skidmore in 2017 to help me document all the money that’s missing. And at one point, Mark kept saying, ‘How come you don’t give up on this? How come you keep bringing this up?’ And I said, ‘You don’t understand. If we don’t deal with the financial problem, the only way they can balance the books is to lower life expectancy. That’s the only thing that will balance Social Security and the different retirement systems.'”

Fitts goes on to say:

“And so, when the financial coup started, they started to bring down life expectancy. And it wasn’t just one thing. It was opioids. It was fentanyl. They approved OxyContin. After the budget deal in 1995 busted, literally the next month…they approved OxyContin and the pill mills started and the mortgage fraud and predatory lending. All of that targeting poor neighborhoods along with an increase in narcotics trafficking. And that was bringing the life expectancy down in the lower income groups.

“Now if you look at COVID, it just accelerated that dramatically in the middle-income groups. So, I’m sure the Great Poisoning is a plan. And the proof of the plan, and to me it’s proven, is the refusal to course correct. And that’s why I think [RFK Jr.] going in as head of HHS is gonna be very interesting because he’s gonna try and course correct…[and] I think you have a lot of people in the American population who don’t want to face the fact of what happened with the COVID injections.

“But the reason you haven’t course corrected the Great Poisoning for 20 years is because the people who try and course correct it lose their jobs. They get fired. They get shot. They get assassinated. One congressman just said the other day [that they could] commit suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head 5 times. Do you know what I mean? So if you look at the evil and the covert operations and the financial carrots and sticks and the control files and dirty tricks that have been used to keep this Great Poisoning going, no, this is not well intended people just not facing facts…There is a significant amount of money and physical violence and control techniques used to keep it going. And it’s taken…a remarkable and very inspiring and beautiful effort, you know, grassroots bottom up, to force us to the point where [RFK Jr.] could have such a dramatic impact on the election and find himself nominated at HHS.

“That is a groundswell, and the system cannot afford to push that groundswell aside. Otherwise, they’re going to destroy the credibility of the whole system. And so they need to reaffirm their credibility. And you’ll see this in Washington, where the pendulum will swing back and forth, where, you know, they will have a sweeping reform and recalibrate because they can’t afford to lose credibility. I mean…if you look at who’s really suffering from that now, it’s the Big Media. They are literally losing their channel. And part of the reason is this.”

There’s an Even Worse Poison than 1080 – It’s Brodifacoum

Government use of 1080 poison in New Zealand is controversial and seems to command the headlines ahead of other poisons.

But there is a much worse poison – it is called brodifacoum.

Brodifacoum is widely used by regional councils and government agencies such as the Department of Conservation. Typical of its widespread use is Ulva Island near Stewart Island where the Department of Conservation is currently undertaking rodent eradication.

I have come across brodifacoum poisoning notices in the central North Island when trout fishing, accompanied by my Labrador dog. In one case I asked a farmer why the regional council was using brodifacoum for possums. He didn’t know and added that possum numbers were very light anyhow.

Because of the extreme danger to my dog, I didn’t go fishing. Besides, trout fishing a river into whichever toxic baits will have fallen or on the banks, doesn’t make for an enjoyable day’s fishing! 

Such cavalier attitude of regional councils – and the Department of Conservation – belies the lethal nature of brodifacoum.

Comparison

How does it compare to 1080?

Both poisons have a ”withholding period” which means a time must elapse after the toxin’s use before stock can be safely grazed or game animals such as deer, taken for home consumption.

The Ministry of Primary Industries stipulates 4 months for 1080 poison. For brodifacoum it is 3 years i.e. 36 months after poisoning.

The extensive withholding time for brodifacoum is due to its known long-term persistence in the environment and animal bodies.

What is brodifacoum?

Brodifacoum is an anticoagulant, which causes the animal to die slowly and painfully from internal bleeding. As cruel as death over two or three days is by 1080, by brodifacoum it is far more prolonged, in the case of rats within 4 to 8 days and larger animals such as possums, up to 21 days.

1080 requires a user to have a licence to use the toxin but no licence is needed for brodifacoum, for example rat poison sold over shop counters, to anyone, young or adult with no controls whatsoever.

Secondary Poisoning

Brodifacoum and 1080 have another similarity, called “secondary poisoning”. In other words a dead poisoned animal remains toxic and any bird or other creature scavenging the dead body, takes in poison and dies.

Scientists C.T. Eason and E.B. Spurr in 1995 in a study “The Toxicity and Sub-lethal Effects of Brodifacoum said insectivorous birds (e.g. bush robins, fantails) are likely to be exposed to brodifacoum by eating invertebrates that have fed on toxic baits; i.e., they are likely to be at risk from secondary poisoning. Predatory birds (especially the Australasian harrier, New Zealand falcon, and morepork) might also be at risk from secondary poisoning by eating birds, small mammals, or invertebrates that have fed on toxic baits.

Predators are greatly at risk. Both poisons are very slow to kill, and especially so with brodifacoum. An animal be mouse, bird or insect, on taking the poison, slowly dies and in its distressed, weakening state, naturally and quickly attracts the attention of predators among them native birds such as bush falcons, hawks, moreporks, pukekos and wekas.

Ecological history is littered with instances following poisoning.  For example  scientists Eason and Spurr said the “entire weka population on Tawhitinui Island, Pelorus Sound, Marlborough Sounds was exterminated mainly by direct consumption of rat bait (Talon) intended for ship rat control.”

The two scientists said “indigenous New Zealand vertebrates most at risk from feeding directly on cereal-based baits containing brodifacoum are those species that are naturally inquisitive and have an omnivorous diet (birds such as weka, kaka, kea, and robins). The greatest risk of secondary poisoning is to predatory and scavenging birds (especially the Australasian harrier, New Zealand falcon, southern black-backed gull, morepork, and weka)”

The duo added “the risk from brodifacoum will be at its greatest when saturation baiting techniques, such as aerial sowing, are used in eradication programmes.” Such as Ulva Island where DoC is “aerially sowing” brodifacoum.

Seven years later in 2002, Spurr and Eason along with two other scientists produced a study “Assessment of risks of brodifacoum to non-target birds and mammals in New Zealand”.

The quartet of scientists described brodifacoum as “highly toxic to birds and mammals” and listed victims such as the Australasian harrier (Circus approximans) and morepork (Ninox novaeseelandiae), other native birds such as the pukeko (Porphyrio melanomas), weka (Gallirallus australis), southern black-backed gull (Larus dominicanus), and kiwi (Apteryx spp.) and introduced mammals, including game animals e.g. deer.

Dead Dotterels

Other studies have identified the lethal nature of brodifacoum.

Landcare Research scientist Penny Fisher said “because brodifacoum persists in the environment, other birds may suffer secondary poisoning from eating animals that have ingested poison” and cited “a high mortality of New Zealand dotterels following an aerial brodifacoum operation at Tawharanui Regional Park in North Auckland, in 2004. At least 50% of the dotterels in the area at time of operation disappeared or were found dead. Sand-hoppers-common food item of NZ dotterels —ate baits and accumulated brodifacoum and provided a potential route for transmission of the toxin to dotterels.”

Two dead eels found in a Southland waterway had brodifacoum in the gut contents of one and that “suggests the eel had recently ingested food containing brodifacoum, probably through scavenging the carcass of a poisoned possum.”

Freshwater Residues

In 2005 a paper in the New Zealand Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research, Volume 39, told of freshwater crayfish (koura) with significant 1080 concentrations and 1080 residues in eel tissue that were on average 12 times higher than the PMAV (provisional maximum acceptable level).

The INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMME ON CHEMICAL SAFETY Health and Safety Guide No. 93 said of brodifacoum “as a technical material — is highly toxic for fish”.

Processing poisons for wild animal control/eradication is Orillion a State Owned Enterprise governed through a Board of Directors appointed by the New Zealand Government. Orillion’s safety data sheet for brodifacoum says “may cause long lasting harmful effects to aquatic life.”

Therein lies a threat to not only valued sports fishes such as trout and juvenile salmon migrating downstream to sea, but also native fish such as eels and galaxids.

Sodium fluoroacetate, also known as compound 1080, is the poison around which controversy swirls. Brodifacoum is little known but is surreptitiously used by the Department of Conservation and councils.

1080 is ecologically destructive and damaging to the ecosystem – but brodifacoum is far worse.

EWR comment: The many who have tracked and even opposed the 1080 operations (moving along in NZ for over 50 years) know there is more to this than meets the eye. Particularly in latter years as increasingly the rules have expanded to allowing dispersion into waterways. How can this not affect human health? Look what happened in Auckland. On a grand scale we have also seen the gradual destruction of the very species the narrative has told us were being protected. Slowly but surely the wild food supplies are being severely reduced, and what is left is being rendered too risky to eat. This is not about conservation according to the UN’s supposed biodiversity goals contained in the Agenda 21 documentation. It is all part of the New World Order reset goals, world control of all resources including food. Note Aussie recently proclaimed they are now in the said NWO. The New South Wales government is preparing to drop poisoned animal baits into a part of Sydney’s main drinking water catchment considered so important, public access is restricted.

The move has angered a conservation scientist who says mass aerial baiting in the special area contradicts those protections.

However, the NSW government says the baiting is necessary to protect vulnerable native animals affected by the devastating bushfires of 2019/20.

The meat baits, which are laced with the poison known as 1080, are designed to kill foxes and dingoes — also referred to as wild dogs. They will be dropped across parts of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, including within the Warragamba Special Area.

Special areas act as buffers of pristine bushland upstream of dams and are designed to protect water quality. In the Warragamba catchment, “schedule 1 areas” are the most heavily protected and public entry is banned.

They are surrounded by “schedule 2 areas”, where entry is restricted and activities such as bike riding and motorboat use are prohibited.

But according to internal government documents, seen by the ABC’s Specialist Reporting Team, poisoned baits were airdropped in schedule 2 areas in June and July 2020, with more baits to be dropped this month.

Originally, the NSW Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) also wanted to bait schedule 1 areas, but it abandoned the idea over concerns about how the public would react.

“We anticipate that there is a risk of community concern regarding the perceive (sic) risks of using 1080 in Sydney’s drinking supply,” the NPWS noted in an email.

“For these reasons we are proposing we don’t bait in Schedule 1 lands. If we determine a way to manage that risk down the track, then we can reconsider.”

WaterNSW told the ABC it considered the baiting a “very low” risk to the catchment, thanks to other mitigating factors.

“These factors … include restricting baiting to areas away from waterways, the high rate of decay of ‘1080’ in the environment, and baiting occurring only in catchment zones far removed from the Warragamba supply storage,” a spokesman said.

Scientist argues dingoes should be protected

The Department of Planning Industry and Environment said the program had been carefully mapped out, and baits would not be dropped within 200 metres of waterways.

That does not reassure Kylie Cairns, a molecular biologist and geneticist who specialises in dingo research at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).

She is opposed to any baiting in national parks where dingoes roam, saying they are Australia’s land-based apex predator and should be protected.

“If you have the apex predator being controlled in such a manner, you could be disturbing or impacting negatively on the natural environment in that area,” she said.

Dr Cairns said since baiting was typically done to reduce the loss of livestock in agricultural areas it was “shocking” that baiting was planned up to 10 kilometres inside the world heritage area.

“You have to ask, is that really balancing the need to conserve dingoes in their environment … with the impact that they might be doing to livestock operations on the outside of the park?”

She said a growing body of work suggested habitats could be improved in areas where dingoes were well managed and, that in particular, dingoes helped keep kangaroo numbers down, which allowed plants and smaller herbivores to flourish.

Expert says baiting needed to control dingoes

Greg Mifsud is the national wild dog management coordinator at the Centre for Invasive Species Solutions. He supports the use of aerial baiting to access hard to reach areas. And he said it was more targeted than the name suggested.

“The movement of foxes and dogs in those landscapes after fire could be quite different and therefore targeting areas with aerial baiting just means you might be able to get a better uptake of baits by animals that you’re targeting,” Mr Mifsud said.

He was not involved in the program run in the Warragamba Special Area, but he does oversee the National Wild Dog Action Plan and provides advice to landholders and agricultural groups on predator control strategies.

Mr Mifsud said dingoes still posed a significant threat to wildlife and he argued regular baiting was needed because as soon as it stopped, they came back.

“Dogs aren’t going away,” he said.

“Despite the best efforts, they’ve adapted to the changes and they’re moving into areas, like … on the outskirts of Brisbane and places like that. So it’s really just going to be about ongoing management.”

Concerns over ‘cruelty’ and native animals

Mark Greenhill is the Mayor of the Blue Mountains City Council, which covers a large section of the world heritage area. He’s opposed to the use of 1080 because he thinks animals that ingest it die painful deaths.

“We can be more humane than that,” he said.

“My concern is that, apart from the cruelty of the poison, there’s no guarantee this poison wasn’t taking out native animals.”

This year, his council officially banned the use of 1080 in his government area. That ban does not cover land controlled by the state government, such as national parks, but he wished it did.

“The [Warragamba Special Area], while outside our local government area, is still within the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. So, forgive me for feeling somewhat proprietorial,” he said.

A spokesperson for NPWS told the ABC it had seen a 90 per cent reduction in fox activity across the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area since it started baiting last year.

NPWS also said strict legal conditions surrounded aerial baiting and ensured human safety.

UNBELIEVABLE? Well no, not really. Time everyone woke up to the corruption. But as far as this article is concerned, why don’t reporters make themselves familiar with the substances in question? The company was making pure 1080, (sodium fluoroacetate), and had in the warehouse the substances necessary to make it (400L of ethyl fluoroacetate, sodium hydroxide, and ethanol) as well as some unknown quantity of sodium fluoroacetate.

“The company was under pressure to meet its supply obligations and decided to try to manufacture sodium fluoroacetate – the active ingredient in 1080 – locally rather than importing it.”
Sodium fluoroacetate IS pure 1080, and NO-ONE in NZ has the consent to manufacture it, not even the NZ government’s own 1080 bait factory in Whanganui. The pure, deadly ingredient is imported from Tull Chemical Co in Oxford, Alabama, and has been for many, many years. It is the active ingredient in 1080 cereal baits, not “the active ingredient in 1080”.
One of the most deadly substances in the world. 1/143 of a teaspoon can kill a 70kg human being and yet this was being manufactured illegally in a warehouse in a heavily built up area, with an aquatic centre (where children learn to swim) across the driveway and a preschool nearby, without consent, without signage, and unbeknown to the other businesses in the building at 56 Wickham St, Bromley.
Not only that but the warehouse had no ventilation. I am told that in court yesterday when asked about the means of ventilation they said they would lift the roller door onto the carpark/entrance!! I am also told that the judge said that 1080 was not to be referred to in court as 1080, but as sodium fluoroacetate. How many people in NZ know the chemical sodium fluoroacetate is 1080! Why would the judge say that do you think? Rhetorical question.
Oh, words fail me… those who have been following this case will know what I mean. A whitewash, pure and simple.

On April 15, 2021, The Wanaka Sun published an opinion piece by Ross Sinclair, committee member of the pro-1080 poison Central Otago Lakes “Forest and Bird”…. incorrect and biased as one might expect.
Over the ensuing weeks there were a number of ‘Letters to the Editor’ in opposition to this article. (Notably there were none in support of the opinion piece, although Ross Sinclair was given the right of reply not once, but twice!)
One letter was from Dr. Fiona McQueen, consultant rheumatologist at the SDHB, and author of “The Quiet Forest: The Case Against Aerial 1080”.
The Sun’s editor, Pat Deavoll, told Dr. McQueen in an email on 19 April that she would “certainly publish it in the next edition- you have made some very good points”. It has never been published.
I posted it on Facebook a week ago along with the original opinion piece, with Dr. Fiona McQueen’s permission.
Strangely, I shared it to Upper Clutha Community Notices, a local Wanaka Facebook group with more than 7,000 members. It was approved and then quickly deleted and when I pointed this out to one of the admins with whom I have had cordial dealings in the past, it was reinstated. It was deleted again; again I pointed this out and it was reinstated. It appeared there was disagreement among the admins.
Finally, after 24 hours or so, comments were turned off, this particular administrator sent me an extremely rude private message, totally uncalled for, referring to “your precious post”, the post was deleted, and she blocked me.
Dr. McQueen’s letter STILL has not been published by The Wanaka Sun and yet here in this week’s issue is a letter from John Veysey, commenting on the non-existent letter !! (I thought I must have made a mistake but I have been back through the last 6 weeks of The Wanaka Sun and, no, Dr. Fiona McQueen’s letter has never been published).
Here is her letter again, and I have attached John Veysey’s letter to The Wanaka Sun, from this week’s edition, (which must have a few people scratching their heads as no-one reading The Wanaka Sun has ever seen Dr. McQueen’s letter) :

“Dear Sir,
I would like to make some comments in response to your recent article, “Putting 1080 to Bed”. Firstly, I would expect that most conservation –minded NZ’ers would be fairly shocked to hear that 1080 actually kills native birds – in any numbers, small or “huge”. This unfortunate fact has been well and truly proven in peer-reviewed studies and is termed “by-kill”. Which species? Tomtits, robins, morepork and kea to name a few. How many are killed?
Contrary to Dr Sinclair, I find the data on kea to be extremely alarming. It has been estimated (by DoC) that each poisoning operation will kill, on average, 12% of kea. But sometimes that percentage has been much higher. For example after the 2020 drop in the pristine Matukituki Valley, 50% of DoC’s monitored kea died.
“The keas’ deaths will be horrific, with extreme muscular spasms going on for many hours,” said Dr Jo Pollard, PhD, an independent scientist who has crusaded for years against the use of aerial 1080.
Personal confirmation of this came to me quite separately from an individual working on a DOC hut during 2020. In the days following a 1080 drop he commented, “the keas were making a really awful noise, it sounded like they might have been screaming …” It is very disturbing that there are so few of these iconic birds to be found now around the West Coast, in areas where they used to be plentiful. DOC says its the stoats. Really? Stoats were introduced more than a hundred years ago. The kea population only seems to have plummeted in the last twenty or so (since intensive and repetitive 1080 drops have been underway in kea habitat). More likely it is something that most definitely kills them in large numbers – 1080.
Ross Sinclair has alluded to the recently published paper by Bomans et al, (NZ Journal of Ecology 2021) investigating the effect of 1080 drops on birdsong. True, there was very little difference shown between 1080 and control groups over a period of years (leaving aside the subgroup of tomtits exposed to 1080 where birdsong was reduced). But hold on, shouldn’t there have been a difference? Isn’t that what the whole 1080 programme is supposed to do? Bring back the birdsong? Here is conclusive scientific proof that it is a complete waste of time and money, with a lot of dreadful suffering thrown in for many helpless creatures.

PCR LTD COURT CASE POSTPONED AGAIN TODAY…. COMPANY NOT TO BE CHARGED WITH MANUFACTURE OF PURE 1080

Are we expected to believe that chemicals were being processed in the Bromley warehouse (this was stated in the original news story) but that despite the chemicals in the warehouse being those used for manufacturing pure 1080, the company was NOT manufacturing pure 1080?

Unfortunately Stuff has not made clear, or understood, the difference between importing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) and storing the chemicals needed to make it! ( See quote).

If you are not manufacturing sodium fluoroacetate, but only importing it, why do you need the chemicals used to make it?! An important question to have asked, surely? As the article points out, manufacturing sodium fluoroacetate is not permitted in NZ. This building contained ethyl fluoroacetate, sodium hydroxide, and ethanol… the products needed to MANUFACTURE pure 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate). It also contained sodium fluoroacetate.

Quote from article: “The factory did not manufacture 1080, but stored the chemicals that could be used to make it.
Manufacturing 1080 is not permitted in New Zealand but some companies, including PCR Ltd, have permission to make cereal bait from imported 1080.”

How do Stuff know the factory was not manufacturing 1080? It appears that PCR Ltd have not been CHARGED with manufacture, which is not the same thing. Assumptions being made here.

The accident happened nearly two years ago and yet Unit 1, 56 Wickham St, Bromley, Christchurch has still not been decontaminated and still apparently contains these highly hazardous chemicals, as a Hazchem sign was eventually placed on the building last year and is still there. The three other units under the same roof are all leased by other businesses and an aquatic centre, where children learn to swim, is just metres away and shares the same drive-in entrance. The building is so hazardous that firemen have been forbidden to enter in case of fire! Today the Bromley court case was due to be heard at 10.00 am. After nearly two hours of other cases being heard it was again adjourned. Will it ever come to court? After WorkSafe NZ spent a year investigating this incident, charges were laid in June, 2020.
The case was due to be heard in the Christchurch District Court in mid-July, 2020. It was postponed on the day.
It was due to be heard on the 19th August, 2020. It was again postponed on the day.
It was due to be heard on the 15th September, 2020. It was again postponed on the day.
It was due to be heard on 2 December, 2020. It was postponed again on the day.
It was due to be heard on 9 February, 2021. It was postponed again today.

As of today, Japan is warning it will stop importing New Zealand honey if it continues to find the weed killer glyphosate during border testing. What will happen if they ever realize they should test for 1080 poison as well?! On September 21, 2018, Benita Martin sent a question to Comvita – “Please advise what tests for 1080 are undertaken on your honey? I’m worried about the bees that were found on the 1080 poisoned cows and your hives are closest to the location.”

A Comvita representative responded :

“Comvita uses Analytica Laboratories to undertake Sodium monofluoroacetate (1080) testing. Analytica are an IANZ accredited laboratory who perform a wide variety of bee product testing on behalf of the Apiculture industry. Comvita undertook 1080 testing on a range of honey samples which were taken from honey harvested between September 2017 – March 2018 including honey from 1080 drop zones. No traces of 1080 were detected in any samples which is inline with all scientific literature which suggests the risk of contamination to bees and their products appeared to be negligible. ‘Low risk’ is a category we assign to this residue in our testing schedule, and best reflects where no verified evidence of cross contamination is known to occur. This is consistent with research we have seen elsewhere which indicated 1080 is not attractive to bees and poses no threat.”

“… we are not able to test your honey for 1080 unfortunately, because we don’t have a testing method for doing so…”

Staff from New Zealand Dept of Conservation are often employed as ‘consultants’ for overseas ‘pest’ eradication projects. One example of such an eradication attempt comes from Wake Atoll, known as ‘Wake Island’ – which is between Hawaii and Guam in the northern Pacific Ocean. It is made up of Wake, (525 ha), Peale (95 ha), and Wilkes Islands (76 ha).

Wake is an unincorporated U.S. territory that is managed by the Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force. About 70 people reside on Wake (military personnel and contractors). Wake has approximately 19 km of coastline and is an important breeding area for many species of seabirds.Importantly, the coastline is also fished by the local residents for sport and food.

In 2012 an aerial brodifacoum poisoning operation took place over the islands to try to eradicate rats. How long brodifacoum persists in the environment is unclear, but we know it can potentially affect the food chain. These residues may impact on fish that are caught by Wake Island residents for sport and consumption. Three months after the poisoning, 5 out of 48 samples had “detectable levels” of poison – toxicologists therefore recommended a 942 day fishing ban after initial testing was done. But how much longer would the pesticide be in the food chain?

In 2015 – THREE YEARS AFTER this aerial operation of brodifacoum – samples from various marine life were taken. The scientists found that some fish (1 of 8 bluefin trevally, and 4 of 4 blacktail snapper, all from within a lagoon) had low but detectable levels of brodifacoum residues.

The scientists suggest that outcomes from their investigation should provide a comprehensive idea of the risks of contamination in marine life over the longer term from using pesticides aerially. In the article, the authors state “All reasonable efforts should be made to minimize unnecessary environmental and nontarget exposures (e.g., through precise application methods) and all risk assessments must consider the specific context of proposed action [poisoning the environment].”

However, an aerial distribution from helicopter of a lethal poison can NEVER be ‘precise’. Kathy White says: “Remember the Hauraki Gulf brodifacoum poison drop? The dead dolphins, penguins, dogs and toxic sea-slugs? And the DOC man interviewed on TV, lying about having tested the penguins and them being negative. Fortunately there was an astute journalist who probed and discovered they hadn’t tested them – they had just examined them. Years later, in Penny Fisher’s journal articles, it talked about detecting brodifacoum in the penguins and them thinking the penguins may have died of starvation. They did later studies on anticoagulant rodenticides in penguins and found more than 50% of South Island test subjects had at least one anticoagulant in them.”

Happy New Year and it’s with a sad heart that we provide a ‘heads up’ for some of the forthcoming next round of proposed poisoning operations in Aotearoa New Zealand – planned by Dept of Conservation and/or Ospri. Other poison operations may not be made public. Three examples are shown in images below, taken from the current online Pesticide Summary. The South Island’s West Coast is already heavily poisoned, with deadly diphacinone, brodifacoum, 1080, cyanide and other toxins. The cocktail effect of these multiple chemicals in sublethal amounts is a total unknown in terms of the impact on our public health. But, despite this, a further mixture of a cyanide and 1080 (bait stations and hand laying) is planned near Hokitika. Meanwhile, on the East Coast near Kaikoura, more cyanide will be laid in bait bags near areas already previously poisoned with 1080. What are the effects of a mix of cyanide and 1080? The streams feed the drinking water supplies for residents and stock. The streams all eventually meet the sea, of course. Are the Kiwi tourists paying to be whale-watchers, aware of the invisible toxins those wildlife face? And thirdly (but by no means, finally) aerial 1080 poison is proposed to be spread by helicopter over 7412 hectares adjacent to sacred Aoraki Mt Cook.

Will 2021 bring any relief from these poisons to our land and water?

Well,well, well…..it seems that when people look up HeliOtago Ltd, at least one of the photos they get is this one I took of one of their rescue helicopters, ZK-IME, dropping 1080 poison at Makarora, Mt Aspiring National Park, on February 23, 2017.Google has just congratulated me and told me the photo has had 10,176 views and it appears to be tied to the Google Maps ‘HeliOtago Ltd’ location ID.Google said “10,000Hi Carol,10,000 photo views—that’s something to be proud of!Thanks for adding photos to Google Maps—they are helping others make decisions about the things worth doing and places worth seeing. Keep it up!” Things worth doing ?!!!! Dropping 1080 poison ?! 🤣🤣🤣 Google is nuts!

The Soil and Health Association are calling for councils to stop spraying glyphosate to keep New Zealand families safe.

‘The public increasingly understand that it is no longer acceptable to be exposed to glyphosate-based herbicides,’ says Soil & Health spokesperson Jodie Bruning,

We are working with US based Non-Toxic Neighbourhoods who have had significant success helping councils transition affordably to non-toxic urban management.

The importance of glyphosate science

Public health scientists think it is bizarre that the findings of the most prestigious cancer agency in the world were rejected by New Zealand’s Environmental Protection Authority (the EPA).

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) determined that glyphosate probably causes cancer in humans. The IARC also found that glyphosate (and it’s commercial formulations) definitely causes cancer in laboratory animals – placing our pets at risk too.

 In 2016 the EPA produced what scientists consider to be a flawed cancer review to discredit the findings of the EPA’s own cancer authority.  New Zealand professors and scientists remain ‘mystified’ and have spoken repeatedly (here and here and here) about the EPA’s frozen stance on glyphosate. An Official Information [ENQ-35127-N5J6C7]request has found that the EPA has never conducted a formal risk assessment of glyphosate or the commercial formulation.

Glyphosate is not just a cancer risk. Scientific studies show that glyphosate-based herbicides, including Roundup, may not only probably cause cancer but cause oxidative stress and disrupt endocrine system function which can set the stage for disease and delays.

Chemical companies are paying out for the damage caused

Following the IARC decision, cases in the U.S. have awarded the claimants damages against Monsanto (since 2018, owned by Bayer). The court cases uncovered evidence that showed how Monsanto took action to limit and distort public knowledge. Punitive damages were awarded for ‘reprehensible’ conduct. The jury trials are now under appeal with Bayer claiming the verdict of regulators across the world upholds Bayer’s stance. Unfortunately, as scientists have illustrated (in Europe and the USA), regulatory agencies relied on ghostwritten industry studies and ignored data that the IARC considered important.

In June 2020 Bayer proposed a settlement of USD$8.8-10.9 billion to settle over 125,000 U.S. lawsuits to resolve Roundup litigation. Bayer has framed the complex settlement proposal as an end to ‘uncertainty’. The proposal contained no admission that glyphosate-based herbicides caused the cancer claimed by cancer sufferers, many former farmers, who see the proposal as a slap in the face. The settlement proposal may restrict future claimants from a jury trial. New Zealand doesn’t face the same court cases here because the ACC covers such cases as accidents.

Why isn’t New Zealand taking action?

Ignoring the calls of scientists, New Zealand councils refer to the New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority (NZ EPA) to claim that glyphosate is a ‘low toxicity herbicide’. The hazard rating given by the NZ EPA provides a legal rationale that it is safe enough to spray in public places. This is wrong!

It is evident from operations in Auckland and Christchurch that councils and contractors need to make a lot of changes in order to shift away from glyphosate dependency – like any addiction – shifting to a new mindset isn’t always easy. Much of the management and contract negotiation are out of the public eye – so it is difficult for the public to understand what is going on. Councils don’t appear to be undertaking properly accountable trials with new technologies and recording and documenting trial methods, how they cope with and reduce over time the weed seed banks, and making this information public. We know non-toxic alternatives and management regimes can never neatly replace toxic chemical use. Shift away from addiction requires a change in mindset and operations.

We also understand that councils struggle to adopt the precautionary principle. This would help deal with uncertainty (which is always present). Councils may not be comfortable weighing the risk to families, and particularly babies and children, with the risk of complaints from irate rate-payers or staff worried about the stress on physical assets. These are value-based decisions, and are an important part of making any decision to protect health or the environment.

1080 ACCIDENT AT BROMLEY, CHRISTCHURCH – WILL IT BE A COVER-UP? 18 MONTHS DOWN THE TRACK IT’S NOT LOOKING GOOD!

Where were ECAN while all of this was taking place under their noses? The site is still not listed on their register of land use information to this day.

Where were Worksafe when this witches’ brew of toxic chemicals was deposited upwind of a densely populated residential zone without even a rudimentary warning sign in place?

Where was ANYONE when the council, in what I can only view as a barefaced attempt to slink out from underneath its responsibilities for site decontamination, sold off its shareholding at a massive loss?

Where were ECANZ, FENZ and WorkSafe when the job of ensuring that the site was made safe in a timely manner was discussed?

Where were the courts when the task of holding the, frankly despicable, perpetrators of these events promptly to task arose?

The only people who come out of this with any credit are the foot soldiers on the ground who went in to clean up this unholy mess, the ESR team, the FENZ fire-fighters and the ambulance crews and medical staff who saved the life of the worker involved in the original explosion.

Outcomes like this don’t happen through laziness or incompetence. They happen by design.”

Here is the text of that email for clearer reading, though I have attached the screenshot too:

“Completed by Steve Kennedy Just a quick follow-up from the operation we mounted with both FENZ and ESR assistance at the Pest Control Research NZ Limited worksite at Unit 1, 56 Wickham Street, Bromley, Christchurch in June last year (Wednesday, 12 June and Thursday, 13 June 2019). The site remains sealed under WorkSafe direction and has not been entered since Thursday, 13 June 2019 the site remains contaminated and the same hazardous substances remain in situ. We continue to work with Pest Control Research for them to developed and produce an adequately robust decontamination and site recovery plan, while there appears to be some reluctance on their part to move this along. I have been ask to confirm our understand that FENZ continues to flag this site/address in your CAD systems as a contaminated hazardous substance location containing quantities of: Sodium Hydroxide [CAS 1310732 ] (solid) Ethyl Fluoroacetate [CAS 459-72-3] (liquid) Ethanol [CAS 64-17-5) (liquid) Sodium Fluoroac by Steve Kennedy”

Also attached is the email that says fire officers must not enter the building. A photo of this email is attached, but for ease of reading I have copied out the text here. It was also sent by Fire Service Asst Area Commander Steve Kennedy, again in January, 2020, and says:

“This message was sent with High Importance.

On site are the following chemicals, according to a Work Safe email sent to FENZ and forwarded by Steve Kennedy to ? on 23 January, 2020. (I have a copy and have posted it up previously):

Ethyl fluoroacetate, ethanol, sodium hydroxide, and sodium fluoroacetate (pure 1080).

See the last method in this document… one way to make pure 1080 is to mix ethyl fluoroacetate, methanol and sodium hyroxide. Ethyl fluoroacetate is highly flammable and very dangerous, as dangerous as sodium fluoroacetate (1080). It isn’t used to make Christmas cake.

Ummmm….. why was there no hazardous chemical signage put on this building by Work Safe NZ – until 2020 when a small hazchem sign was put up beside the door?

Why was Unit 2, next door to this one, leased out towards the end of 2019, with the real estate agent who leased it out knowing nothing about what was through the wall, or so he told me? (The accident happened on May 28, 2019).

DoC raining down 1080 pellets on people and waterways – in spite of safety assurances

Here are two articles by Carol Sawyer reporting on DoC bungles that involved health risks to people, in spite of the Department’s assurances of safety. In spite also of the results reported health-wise, still the Department continues to drop the deadly poison by the tonne, every year, like a ‘veritable lolly scramble’ as one expert in the field has described it. Further to this post, I received this message in 2017 from the late Lloyd Hanson, to post on my page :

“John Sinclair the Investigator was one of the original owners of Marlborough Helicopters and I believe sold out to Owen Dodson, who conducted this operation. I am not saying that Mr Sinclair’s summation was incorrect but surely considering his conflict of Interest it would seem prudent to declare this and step away – NOT SO!

I went in to the scene of the bucket loss a few days later and observed dozens of broken 1080 pellets amongst the smashed foliage – a poor cleanup !”

Fiona Stonehouse, one of the trampers who was rained on with 1080 poison by pilot Simon Moar, commented on the article:

“What the article does not say is that we were assured by a DoC worker that we would be fine walking the track that day before we even started the tramp. There was supposed to be a buffer zone of 20metres on both sides of the track which was a condition of our withdrawing our legal opposition submission. We went through the lengthy and time consuming legal process and made terms that we had no alternative but to accept and DoC failed to deliver to those agreed terms because of the bucket malfunction and their decision to continue with the drop despite the fact that they knew they could not comply with the terms of the agreement. It makes no difference what our political opinions on the subject are, we were told we would be safe and that we were allowed to be there and it turned out that we weren’t safe. No body is around this poison and that is what the knuckle heads who use and endorse 1080 fail to acknowledge,”

and when asked why she didn’t find a lawyer she wrote:

“We did find a lawyer who isn’t afraid to take on the government but she costs money and we have been opposing this bs for a long time now.

“Later she wrote:

” Elliot (Graeme Elliott, Principal Advisory Scientist, Dept of Conservation) admitted that our 2013 drop was an experiment at our hearing; there was a control area not being dropped on and Mt Stanley, which was aerially dusted with 1080. We haven’t seen the data from those experiments despite an initial request for them. How dare they experiment with deadly poisons on such a massive scale on a publicly accessible reserve ! We were also assured that 1080 would not be dropped in the waterways because they had a new trick(le) feeder that could accurately direct the flow of the pellets and the gps accuracy would keep the pellets out of the waterways. Well that was a farce from start to finish. Not only did they make sure 1080 was in every waterway but they also dusted people with 1080 – they had a malfunction with a clip holding the bucket on and dropped a bucket of 1080, people were injured and public were dusted with 1080 because of DoC’s ineptitude, and now while we are trying to get some acknowledgement of what went on nobody wants to know. Civil Aviation who should investigate all traffic accidents don’t want to know, the Medical Officer doesn’t want to know and I think DoC are hoping we will just quietly go away. Some of our group have relocated overseas because they became so disheartened with the bullshit but they weren’t natives to start with.”

Fiona’s parents, Doug and Phemie Stonehouse, were waiting in their boat for their daughter and her friends to finish walking the Nydia Bay Track. One of these helicopters flew straight towards and over them. They tried to duck under cover in the boat but say they were sprayed with dust. They have suffered ill health since.

I was reminded of this just the other day when I read a new article (Greymouth Star, 14 November, 2020) entitled ‘1080 Dust Tests “Inconclusive” ‘, which is about ESR’s experiments to see if 1080 dust travels 🤪. It mentions the two women picnicking near Greymouth, who were showered with 1080 fragments, and the article concluded with this short paragraph:

“Retired fisherman Doug Stonehouse also claimed he and his wife have suffered ill health after they were accidentally caught in dust from an aerial 1080 operation in the Marlborough Sounds.”

FIRST A 1080 POISON BUCKET IS DROPPED, AND NEXT PELLETS ARE RAINED ON TRAMPERS, IN A ‘MARLBOROUGH HELICOPTERS LTD’ DOUBLE-WHAMMY COCKUP!

This bungled 1080 drop on Mt Stanley/ Tennyson Inlet, Marlborough Sounds on 2 November 2013, may only be six and a half years ago, but how many people know about it ?

I was sent two reports in the post that give a bit more background.

1 )”Investigation into uncommanded bucket release” by John Sinclair, NZ AAA and NZ Helicopter Assn, Occurrence Investigator

2 ) “Notes on Aerial 1080 drop 2/11/2013, Mt Stanley, Tennyson Inlet” by Phil Clerke, senior biodiversity ranger, Dept of Conservation, Picton.

These two reports make for fascinating reading.

This drop was conducted by Marlborough Heliopters Ltd for the Dept of Conservation. Two pilots were involved, Owen Dodson and Simon Moar, flying two Bell Jetrangers, ZK-HJI and ZK-HZE. The senior of the two pilots, Dodson, was a director of the helicopter company. Simon Moar was completing only his second poison drop, “but he had considerable experience in other aerial agricultural operations and is a competent pilot with sufficient experience to undertake poison drops”, Occurrence Investigator, John Sinclair said.

According to the report by DoC’s Phil Clerke, Owen Dodson left the barge to commence his baiting, but arrived back “somewhat shaken” and minus his bucket. He had ” visibly received an impact above the eye ( I was later to learn it was from the breaking airline leading to the bucket ). I was unsure of the exact details but picked up that the bucket’s airline then struck the rotors as well. I later learned that (Owen Dodson) also lost partial sight in this eye.

“This report differs slightly from the Occurrence Investigator, John Sinclair’s, report which says ” …….Owen Dodson was carrying out a trickle feed of sensitive boundaries when the bucket and its load of 1080 suffered an uncommanded release from the helicopter. In the departure sequence a pneumatic control line severed and flicked up cutting the pilot’s eye”. Also the “pneumatic control line had connected with the OAT and cracked the windscreen”.

Despite this injury, Dodson flew himself to Blenheim and came back in an R22 with a long lifting chain, after which Moar went off ( with the chain presumably ) to recover the dropped bucket ! Once this was done, Dodson returned to Blenheim in the R22.

John Sinclair’s report has a great deal of detail about the bucket release, But he says ” I believe that the most likely cause of the uncommanded release of the cargo hook was the helicopter’s manual cargo hook release being activated, then not properly returned to the safe position before it was next used” ( Human error, in other words ).

Because of all this dropped bucket palavah, this meant that the less experienced pilot, Simon Moar, had to complete the sensitive boundaries – instead of now-injured Owen Dodson, who had been the one supposed to be doing it, being the more experienced pilot. John Sinclair’s report reads : ” In the course of doing this (Simon Moar) misjudged conditions and allowed the wind to carry a small amount of bait onto the Nydia Bay Track. (Moar was under considerable pressure because of the need to do another drop the next day in Golden Bay. While DoC had offered to postpone the operation there would be the logistics of barging all the bait back to Picton if the operation was curtailed. These pressures may have impacted on his subconscious, especially given that the weather windows this spring have been very few and far between.”

The bait falling “onto the Nydia Bay Track” unfortunately appears to have fallen on the trampers mentioned in the article below. In the Occurrence Investigator, John Sinclair’s, report he just refers to it thus: “The dropping of the bucket did however impact on an adverse environmental effect later in the day”. ( The adverse environmental effect presumably being dropping 1080 pellets on trampers.) In the DoC report, Phil Clerke says a DoC worker, Wendy, “radioed in to pass on that she had met trampers that claimed they were rained on, on the track, at the saddle”.

The trampers, incidentally, knew of the 1080 drop but had been told the track itself was SAFE as it had an exclusion zone of 20 metres.

Some questions I have are these :

1 ) Why did Owen Dodson fly a helicopter back to Blenheim and collect another one, when it had a cracked windscreen and he had a cut on his eye ! Not only that but he returned with another helicopter !

2 ) Why was a pilot who had only done one 1080 drop before, allowed to fly the sensitive boundaries, when as well as this the wind had got up – Phil Clerke says ” the wind was noted to increase in velocity, (Simon Moar) and I had a discussion about this. It was still considered workable.” So pellets land on trampers !

3 ) This question should be asked of DoC : Why on earth was 1080 poison loaded onto helicopters off a barge in pristine Tennyson Inlet ? The DoC report says ” A vacuum cleaner, dust brushes/ pans were to be used with the initial barge clean up to reduce wash down contamination. Wash down would only be used when no further bait fragments could be recovered.” ( Meaning 1080 dust would be washed into Tennyson Inlet, presumably ! )

Postscript:

John Sinclair used to own Marlborough Helicopters Ltd, by the way. Oh, and Marlborough Helicopters Ltd got a safety award !!!! 🤣

All it achieved was a rat population explosion followed by a stoat boom in numbers as proven by research, e.g Ruscoe 2007. And disruption of the ecosystem’s food chain. A West Coast conservationist and spokesman for the Sporting Hunters Outdoor Trust has challenged the justification for a 1080 aerial drop in the Tararua Ranges by OSPRI (former Animal Health Board) saying it is founded on a false belief that possums are responsible for spreading bovine TB.

Laurie Collins of the West Coast said current 1080 aerial drops on public lands in the Tararua Ranges were based on twin fallacies of possums spreading TB and the country had a TB problem. “Neither is true,” he said. “It’s irresponsible of OSPRI to be wasting public funds and damaging the ecology of the Tararua’s public lands with 1080 plus telling fibs.” Laurie Collins said the belief that possum spread bovine TB had been disproven a few years ago when in Parliament the Minister of Primary Industries disclosed that of 9830 possums autopsied, none had TB. Yet in 2020 we have OSPRI  carrying out mass aerial 1080 poisoning in several areas including public lands such as the Tararua Ranges,” he said. Laurie Collins said New Zealand was virtually TB free and was probably one of the most TB-free countries in the world. The world standard for a country to declare “TB free” is 0.2% for TB infected herds and 0.1% for infected cattle. New Zealand rates of TB infection in cattle were slight, i.e. 0.0019% average generally over the last decade.  “It is so far below that required by world standards for a TB free declaration – that New Zealand must be one of the world’s most TB free countries”, he said. “Of deep concern to New Zealanders who are outdoors people, whether tramping, hunting, trout fishing or seeking any recreation in mountain areas, is the indiscriminate spreading of a poison that kills anything which ingests it.” The poison 1080 knows no “species boundaries -whether an insect, bird or animal, it kills, he said. Laurie Collins now retired has long and extensive experience of 1080 having been involved as a Forest Service trainee in the trials of the toxin’s first use in the late 1950s in the Caples Valley, Lake Wakatipu and in subsequent pest management work. In the past there had been cases of farmers wrongly transporting stock from infected areas with resultant TB outbreaks on farms. OSPRI had ignored the stock transportation factor and proceeded to wrongly blame possums and then aerially spread 1080 over adjoining public lands. Laurie Collins cited such an instance in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. NZ’s extremely low TB infection rates  raised the question whether OSPRI had a continuing role. “Instead of celebrating New Zealand’s Tb-free status, OSPRI remains in denial and states their aim is total eradication of TB,” he said. “

Is it that OSPRI want to continue its existence and jobs, funded for by taxpayers and farmer levies?” Even from the first discovery of TB in possums near Westport in the late 1960s, no-one ever seems to have questioned whether the possum infected cattle, or cattle infected the possum. The default position has always been that it is possums that have infected the cattle.  “What probably began as a few civil servants getting some money from the then Ministry of Agriculture slowly morphed over time into a part of a growth program in the ministries bureaucracy,” he added.

There was NO consultation for this aerial 1080 poison operation over Mt Pirongia and NO consent from at least 13 of the local marae and Maori tribal groups around the maunga. New Zealand laws have been broken, not least the Treaty of Waitangi Act, which these poisoning agencies try to claim they respect. What an insult to the citizens of New Zealand.”

In the case of Tataraakina only one trustee gave consent for their lands to be poisoned. How much longer will these authorities be allowed to get away with this behaviour?”

Contrary to independent studies, DoC claims that 1080 does not kill or harm fish … important safety info if you fish for food

“The Department of Conservation has been giving Pirongia landowners a flier that says “1080 does not kill or harm fish.” This is completely misleading and dangerous for those who eat fish, eels, shellfish and koura. See for yourself what scientists have said in an independent summary of research into 1080 and fish. Quotes: “There are indications of sub-lethal effects on fish among the very limited studies that have been done:“significantly greater weight loss occurred in eels exposed to 1080 compared to those that were not”…”the sub-lethal concentrations of 1080 in the water may have been sufficient to inhibit eel metabolism”…”sub-lethal 1080 exposure presented to eels through ingestion of contaminated possum may have been sufficient to temporarily inhibit eel metabolism” (Lyver et al., 2005)
“96-hour [exposure of Rainbow trout, half of individuals dead at] 54 mg/l, sub-lethal effects on survivors – not specified” (ERMA Agency, Appendix C)”Fish & Game ranger Lawson Davey said the national safety limit of 1080 in any food was 0.001 milligrams per kilogram, but the Cawthron Institute’s October toxicology results of 22 trout fed the poison showed muscle tissue with 1080 levels up to 4.7mg per kg.

Three takahē have died after aerial 1080 predator control in Kahurangi National Park at the top of the South Island, one likely due to 1080 poisoning.

The Department of Conservation (DOC) said the cause of death of the other two birds was still being investigated but 1080 poisoning was a possibility.

Ex Horowhenua Mayor Michael Feyen speaks about the alternatives proposed by the Advance NZ party that will create job opportunities for the people. (Currently the associated dollars funnel into the 1080 poison state owned gravy train). Michael has always been supportive of alternatives to 1080, during his time as both councilor and mayor with the Horowhenua District Council. Unfortunately it was not a vision shared by enough of his colleagues to have gained any traction. Time for change. EWR

WET JACKET PENINSULAS, FIORDLAND, AERIAL 1080 POISON DROP STARTS – WEEP FOR THE KEA!

“We have an estimated 1,000 Kea left in the wild in New Zealand….. in the whole world in fact, as they are endemic – i.e.they exist only here! The latest 1080 poison drop in the Matukituki Valley, Mt Aspiring National Park, February 2020, killed 50% of the Kea. More than that will die in the Wet Jacket Peninsulas drop because it is midwinter and the Kea are very hungry.”


Do you know what happens to 1080-poisoned Kea? They stagger around taking hours and hours to die. They bury their heads in the snow to try and get relief from the pain. Dr.Jo Pollard says “The keas’ deaths will be horrific, with extreme muscular spasms going on for many hours.” David Attenborough called them the most intelligent bird in the world. They are the world’s only alpine parrot.

Three BK-117 helicopters – ZK-IME (a.k.a Big Red the Rescue Helicopter), ZK-HJK,(white), and ZK-HEM, (red and white), and a Longranger, all belonging to HeliOtago Ltd, left Dunedin at 6.30 pm this evening heading west to be in place for starting their evil work tomorrow morning. Seven choppers arrived at Monowai tonight… yet to find out if they are all HeliOtago Ltd or if three are from another company. I have been told HeliOtago Ltd flew the prefeed baits from a private farm property at Monowai, last weekend.

This area has never before been poisoned. The drop was planned for last October but there were NO rats so it was postponed and, I am told, the poison that had been brought south for the drop was instead used in the Kepler Mountains drop last March, which was squeezed in just before lockdown…. I’m informed they added on the Princess Mountains to use all the extra poison up. No monitoring done there apparently.

So, here they are again and this time DoC have done a wee conjuring trick and say it is for stoats (there being no rats). Stoats don’t eat 1080 baits.

I can tell you what it WILL kill in large numbers… Kea. As the area has never before been poisoned there are many Kea reported to be in the area. (A while back a pilot sent me a photo of seven Kea that landed beside him when he touched down there.)

Any of you gutless DoC employees reading this who put your personal livelihoods before your knowledge of this travesty and the horror it entails, and keep your mouths shut pleading “I can’t afford to lose my job”… hang your heads in shame why don’t you! You know who you are!

Ditto the local media who know about this drop and are too scared to touch it and tell the truth. You know who you are too.
