As fourth student in a California school is diagnosed with cancer, parents demand removal of cell tower from school

The Ripon Unified School District said it is talking with a telecommunications company about moving a cellular phone tower from Weston Elementary School because of a public uproar over cancer cases at the campus.

A fourth child who attends the school was diagnosed with cancer Friday. Some parents pulled their children from school, and many came out in force to a Ripon school board meeting Monday evening to demand action.

In a prepared statement, board president Kit Oase said tests done on the tower found it was operating normally within safety standards.

There is now ‘clear evidence’ that cell phone radiation can cause cancers of the heart, brain and adrenal glands, a landmark National Institutes of Health (NIH) study warns.

A final report, released today, confirms the preliminary findings that were released in 2016 after scientists were alarmed by early indications that cell radiation may be carcinogenic.

Although the tests were done on rodents at levels much higher than humans are currently exposed to, the link between cell phones and cancer in male rats was undeniable.

For female rats and mice of both sexes, the evidence was less clear as to whether cancers observed were associated with signal exposure.

Still, scientists warn that the new research suggests that men in particular should take precautions to minimize the exposure of sensitive areas to cell phone radiation.

A new report from the NIH warns of  'clear evidence' of a link between high levels of cell phone radiation and brain, heart and adrenal cancers in male rats, but the Food and Drug Administration insists the findings don't apply to humans

Senior scientist Dr John Bucher at the National Toxicology Program (NTP) in Durham, North Carolina said: ‘The exposures used in the studies cannot be compared directly to the exposure that humans experience when using a cell phone.

‘In our studies, rats and mice received radio frequency radiation (RFR) across their whole bodies.

‘By contrast, people are mostly exposed in specific local tissues close to where they hold the phone.

‘In addition, the exposure levels and durations in our studies were greater than what people experience.’

The finding was the result of a $30 million 10-year study to assess the health effects in animals exposed to RFR with modulations used in 2G and 3G cell phones.

The final reports represent the consensus of NTP and a panel of external scientific experts who reviewed the studies in March after draft reports were issued in February.

Dr Bucher explained: ‘Cell phones utilize a specific type of radio waves, or radio frequency radiation (RFR), to transmit between the devices and the network.

‘Exposure of people to RFR occurs primarily through use of cell phones and other wireless devices.’

At the center of the debate about 5G technology is the issue of whether or not 5G is safe. Already underway, though, the rapid rollout will deploy 20,000+ satellites, millions of small towers, and use the same range of EMF waves as a military crowd-control system. Proponents of the technology don’t seem to acknowledge the growing body of research and growing number of voices warning us of the coming catastrophe of a world blanketed in 5G radiation.

Most often, however, those who are negatively impacted by wireless technologies and electromagnetic pollution, are individuals whose voices aren’t heard outside of courtrooms and city halls. In Canada, for example, journalist Rodney Palmer spoke to local government about a “wi-fi disaster,” which actually hurt a number of school children, resulting in the removal of the school’s wireless network.

When the schools installed the wifi, we found out that at least four children had erratic tachycardia [fast or irregular heart rate] that confounded their doctors and they were wearing heart monitors to school. The older children…told us they had blackouts in certain areas of the school. – Rodney Palmer

Interestingly, firefighters have for years opposed the placement of cell towers near fire stations, arguing that the effects of the towers disrupt living conditions for firemen and can cause neurological problems. A study was done for an incident occurred with a group of Los Angeles firefighters in 2016,  and is recounted in public testimony from veteran firefighter and Union president, David Gillotte.

Dr. Gunnar Heuser lead brain studies on firefighters following a cell tower installation on their fire station and found that their brains were all abnormal. His SPECT brain study in 2004 focused on firefighters who complained of neurological problems following a cell tower installation at their fire station beforehand. The symptoms they experienced were: headaches, memory problems, sleeping problems, depression, and anxiety.  Dr. Heuser published a study recently on fMRI showing abnormalities in EHS similar to brain injury. Original study published in July 2017, without the controls, full text: Corrigendum to the study, which includes fMRI scans of the controls (non- EHS) ~Arjun Walia

Mobile and wireless technologies are a ubiquitous feature of modern life.  Most U.S. adults own smartphones, a growing proportion are “smartphone-only” Internet users and over a fourth report being online “almost constantly.”  As for children, a 2014 survey of high-income nations reported that almost seven in ten children used a mobile phone, and two-thirds of those had a smartphone, usually by age 10.  As described by Nielsen, it is now as common to see “a kid with a smartphone in their hand” as it was to see “a kid playing with a yo-yo in the years before the digital age.”

The enthusiasm with which the public has embraced each new mobile and wireless technology—most of which have never undergone any appropriate safety testing or standards development—suggests that consumers rarely stop to consider the health implications of the infrastructure shoring up their ability to browse, stream and download anytime and “on the go.”  Consumers are not entirely to blame for their lack of awareness—it is not easy to disentangle the technologies’ health risks in the face of the telecommunications industry’s steady and calculated disinformation efforts and a captured Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that “follows the script of fabulously wealthy, bullying, billion-dollar beneficiaries of wireless.”

“… powerful 5G (fifth-generation) networks and technology are about to subject everyone, on a continuous basis, to unprecedented forms and amounts of mandatory irradiation—without prior study of the potential health impact or any assurance of safety.

Now, however, a global 5G “frenzy” is upon us and is coming into full force.  The rollout of “blazing fast” 5G technology will “dramatically increase the number of transmitters sending signals to cellphones and a host of new Internet-enabled devices.”  The time is ripe for greater grassroots awareness of the undisclosed tradeoffs between convenience and 5G’s potentially catastrophic health effects.  Far from a simple “next-gen” upgrade, powerful 5G (fifth-generation) networks and technology are about to subject everyone, on a continuous basis, to unprecedented forms and amounts of what retired U.S. government physicist Dr. Ronald Powell calls “mandatory irradiation”—without “prior study of the potential health impact” or any assurance of safety.  Considering that young people (with their smaller body mass and developing brains) are particularly vulnerable to radiation, the Environmental Health Trust has termed 5G “the next great unknown experiment on our children”—and the entire human population.

Australian Communities Are Having Victories Against 5G Deployment. Get Involved Here

Our mission is to ensure the environment and communities are safe from harmful electro-magnetic radiation.

Our objectives.
To realise our mission, we seek to:

1. Educate to empower the people in all areas of EMR – health, legal and environmental.
2. Educate the population on the possible harm from EMR, to facilitate informed consent.
3. Use legal means to ensure decision makers are personally liable for harm, fear and damage caused to people and the environment. Establish legal recourse for future situations arising from EMR that are currently unknown.
4. Support the seeking of financial compensation for health and economic consequences of EMR and EMR infrastructure.
5. Ensure that a correctly structured and continuously improving Australian Standard is in place that considers all independent peer reviewed scientific research relevant to EMR  research, and that governments and industry adopt world’s best practice which applies the precautionary principle.

7.  A moratorium on 5G until the science is better understood and any risk of harm to environment and humans, be it possible/suspected or proven, be eliminated before 5G is established/rolled out.

The Story So Far

In a nut shell, a Telco wants to place a tower in Wilson’s creek, Byron Shire.
What we uncovered (after we reached out to lawyers, doctors and scientists from around the world) is that at best Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) is a class 2B potential carcinogen (as listed by the World Health Organisation), and at worst a definite carcinogen and toxic to all life.
In fact EMR is a classified pollutant (electro-smog).
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics;
the #1 illness that kills children is brain cancer and the #1 cancer killer of adults under 40 is brain cancer (AIHW).
Medical professionals have identified health impacts from EMR exposure as the next global pandemic.
Many Australians suffer from EMR hypersensitivity symptoms (a recognised illness with identifiable biomarkers).
Government and industry are forcing telco towers upon communities that do not want them.
Liability caused from harm by EMR to environment, health and safety (EHS) is an uninsurable risk and understood to be a contributory factor in Telcos listing harm from EMR to EHS as a material risk (the highest possible risk) in their annual reports to shareholders…and yet consumers are not made overtly aware by industry,
Regulators take no action and neither does Government.   In fact they plan to blanket the planet in 5G microwave radiation (the Internet of Things).
According to the lawyers it is possible that community is being assaulted with a recognised pollutant and possible carcinogen on a 24 x 7 basis against their consent for convenience and profit.
There may be trade practices, criminal, terrorism and even constitutional (e.g. the Crown not protecting its subjects) implications.
Legal action to force change is on the horizon.
Once industry are required to overtly inform the general public of the possible harm and provide methods for the public to minimise that harm, people will have a choice – informed consent.
They will also seek refuge in many cases, so we also need to protect our black (light) spots.
We’ve seen change with Asbestos (banned) and the tobacco industry (informed consent)…change is possible when community unites.

Dear Andrew,

I obtained your email from the 5G Briefing put out by Spark in August this year. I was highly disappointed to see that Spark does not seem to have any concerns – or self investigation – regarding any potential health issues involved with EMF waves in general and in particular high frequency millimetre waves. Concerns over the dangers of EMF/EMR are – despite what our media, corporations and government departments will tell you – have been around for many years and there are many peer-reviewd and official studies showing the multiple dangers of this type of technology.
I could easily add many links here for you regarding these dangers and if you wish me to, I would be more than happy to provide these links. However, for now I would like to get your attention and – to be honest Andrew – see if you will give me the time of day to respond to my email, or just label me as a crank and shove me to the junk mail folder. Let me assure you, I am an intelligent and well researched person with nothing but concern for my family, my community and my country and I would like to think that Spark has similar values.
Unfortunately, it is obvious from the 5G Briefing that Spark is a nprofit-driven corporation that is rushing head-first to what will potentially be a health nightmare, does not do it’s own due-diligence and puts sales ahead of public safety. And for what reason?

Silent killers: Cordless phones show dangerously high radiation readings

(Natural News) The idea of taking in a killer is unthinkable. But that’s what most of us are doing every time we plug in our cordless phones. In a video, Neil from EMF Safety Zone demonstrated first-hand the danger that people are exposed to when cordless phones are present in the house.

In the video, a high frequency (HF) analyzer and the radio frequency (RF) meter were used to determine the amount of electromagnetic field (EMF) present before and after a cordless phone was plugged in and turned on. When the phone was turned on, the reading from the HF analyzer recorded average exposure values of more than 2,000 microwatts per square meter (µW/m2), which indicates elevated non-thermal radiation levels. In terms of signal strength, the RF meter noted a peak value of six volts per meter (V/m). In a report by the BioInitiative Working Group, the safety limit for power density, or the amount of energy in a given space, should not exceed 0.04 V/m.

“This is incredibly dangerous,” Neil points out in the video.

The video also revealed how this isn’t contained in an isolated area. The phone was set up in the office, but the RF readings were seen throughout the house. At the farthest end of the house, the RF meter still detected a peak strength of at least 0.10 V/m, despite walls separating the area.

Since 2004, firefighters have been so concerned about exposure to radiation from cell towers and antennas that they’ve posted about this on the IAFF website.

No one in my home is strong, healthy or brave enough to be a firefighter.  That’s one reason why we don’t want cell towers or antennas of any size being installed near us.  My neighbors feel the same way.

Unfortunately “The Race for 5G” allows The Telecom Industry (aka Big Wireless) to install small cell towers in front of homes and pretty much everywhere else despite the fact that decades of research has already proven that exposure to all sources of wireless WiFi radiation is harmful to people, pets, nature, and wildlife.  This includes 5G millimeter waves.

All over the world there are community leaders, elected officials, and government employees also ignoring “The Precautionary Principle” and welcoming small cell towers.

This May 2018 Verizon marketing video features employees testifying about how excited they are to be providing this technology to the world.  According to the video, 5G can travel through walls and travel 3000 feet.

Research published in 1994 (“Experimental studies on the influence of millimeter radiation on light transmission through the lens” Klin Oczna. 1994 Aug-Sep; 96(8-9):257-9) showed that rats exposed to millimetre wave radiation for only 56 days developed changes in the lens of their eyes. 

The wave length used was 5.6 mm (53 GHz).  The power output was 10 milliwatts/cm2 (100,000,000 microwatts/m2).

The authors, Prost M, Olchowik G, Hautz W, Gaweda R, conclude the abstract for their study by stating that “radiation in millimetre range can induce changes in the lens, predisposing to cataract development.”

I was only made aware of this today. I’ve seen it nowhere. This is typical of the powers that be as they will be expecting this to slip right under the radar while folk all stare at their iphones. No offense intended but seriously, folk are simply not aware of the dangers. I will post some links below to our recent articles on topic. Stop Smart Meters NZ website has just been updated with a new post on a consultation on 5G. The consultation deadline date is 5 PM on Monday 30 April 2018.

The 5G system proposed for NZ would involve a doubling of the already high level of cellular phone infrastructure in urban areas followed by more wireless “small cell” transmitters about 250 metres apart or less.

If you would not be happy to have more wireless infrastructure in your neighbourhood, please take the time to write a 5 minute submission.

The negative effects of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) continue to ignite conversations and controversy worldwide. If you have been told EMFs are safe and not a danger to humans, you may want to consider:

  • The telecommunication industry has manipulated federal regulatory agencies, public health authorities and professionals through powerful and sophisticated lobbying efforts leaving consumers confused and unaware of the health risks associated with EMFs
  • Any negative health effects from EMFs, similar to smoking, may not be immediately noticeable, but will likely develop gradually over time. Cell phones indeed are the cigarette public health threat of the 21st century.

What Are EMFs?

According to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, EMFs are “invisible areas of energy, often referred to as radiation, that are associated with the use of electrical power.”1

Most agree on the hazards associated with ionizing radiation, which is why the dental hygienist covers you with a lead apron when taking X-rays. Similarly, you would expect to get sunburned if your bare skin is overexposed to the sun’s powerful UV rays. Ionizing radiation is generally believed to have enough energy to break the covalent bonds in DNA but actually most of the damage is due to the oxidative stress resulting in excessive free radicals.

The type of EMF your cellphone emits is in the microwave 2 to 5 gigahertz range. Besides your cellphone, electronics such as baby monitors, Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, smart thermostats and Wi-Fi routers consistently emit microwave radiation at levels that may damage your mitochondria.

Interestingly I have reviewed a number of studies that show double and single strand DNA breaks are actually higher when exposed to nonionizing microwave radiation than ionizing radiation. This is believed to be due to the excessive oxidative stress that microwave exposure induces.

In recent years there have been increasing reports that “smart meters” – the digitized electric meters that are designed to send usage figures to power companies wirelessly – are causing a range of health issues among a growing portion of the population where such devices are in use.

In fact, notes the EMF Safety Network, a growing number of people from around the world are beginning to report health problems they believe are related to an increased amount of wireless radiation from various devices, including smart meters.

“Utilities claim smart meters are safe, and compare them to cell phones. However, cell phones, cell towers, wi-fi and other wireless devices can also affect your health,” the organization states on its website. “Reducing your EMF exposure can benefit your overall health and wellness.”

The group also notes that the World Health Organization has classified radiation as a 2B carcinogen, and based that declaration on studies that have linked cell phone radiation to brain tumors.

As noted by Cancer.org, here is how the devices work:

“Smart meters talk to their central systems using RF transmissions, based on a cell phone, pager, satellite, radio, power line (PLC), Wi-Fi or Internet (TCP/IP) communication method. Internet and cell phone applications have become the preferred options because of their flexibility and ease of deployment.”

Cancer.org notes further that smart meters are typically installed outside homes and places of business to measure electricity, water and gas usage. How much RF energy people are exposed to depends on how far they are from the antenna that transmits the signal.

Wireless Kills Trees. A six-year study of trees around wireless cell towers reveals the ‘invisible’ damage of exposure to RF radiation. Radiation from wireless technology is now jeopardizing the health of our trees and other plants. “Tree damage in the vicinity of mobile phone base stations” by Waldmann-Selsam and Egar in 2013, documented suspected RF radiation related tree damage and RF radiation readings over a period of six years.
It found significantly higher RF radiation readings by damaged trees as compared to undamaged trees. Sometimes damaged areas and undamaged areas were on the same tree, in which case RF radiation levels were found to be higher near the damaged areas. Because trees are unable to move, differences in RF radiation levels from fixed sources like cell towers can result in very different RF radiation exposure micro-environments in different parts of the same tree or bush.
