“The president is saying he’s gonna call back Congress, that there’s not enough money at FEMA to go through the hurricane season, and so they’re strong-arming Congress to come back and basically give the administration what they want on the continuing appropriations process.”
“Furthermore, Fitts says this is also an instance of central bankers attempting to wrangle more control for themselves. “This is all part of installing the digital ID and financial transaction infrastructure you need to assert absolute control,” Fitts says. “And if you look at the patterns, whether it’s the taking or the land grab or other other reports we’re getting out of that area, it looks to me like a lot of assertion of top-down control of counties.”
I just want to reflect on this a little bit. My thoughts may seem obvious and incomplete but I still want to try to put this down:
The recurring pattern we see, from Pearl Harbor, to JFK’s assassination, to Vietnam, to AIDS, 9/11, Katrina, “War in Iraq,” “Covid” and many more induced events I have not listed, is that the magic trick demands we view all aspects of the US “government” as an incarnated spectral being that can vanish and re-appear at will. The main thing to observe is that it is never protective. The guardians of the gates of culture, the ruling classes, guard and protect the trance state that insists Government could not possibly have known/anticipated/done better etc. They do this in many entrenched ways, including by donning windbreakers, going to the scene, and intoning the “tragedy,” but never who let it happen and how.
It (Government) is all-mighty and good and yet it can’t anticipate, nor prevent any catastrophic events its numerous spectral “enemies” (these days including MAGA, imaginary viruses, climate change and “misinformation” on social media.)

The evacuation of 1.2 millions residents, before Katrina hit by then Mayor Ray Nagin seems like a mirage from a bygone era. It was, of course, too little, too late, and Nagin’s role, allegiances, and actions, could be debated for decades.

In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina entered the Gulf of Mexico. Early on Friday, August 26, Mayor Nagin advised New Orleanians to keep a close eye on the storm and prepare for evacuation. He then made several public statements encouraging people to leave but promising that if they did not evacuate, “[w]e will take care of you”.[25] By 10:00 a.m. Saturday, a mandatory evacuation was called for low-lying areas in the surrounding parishes—St. Charles, St. Tammany, Plaquemines, and Jefferson—and a voluntary evacuation for St. Bernard Parish. This phased approach along with “contraflow“, wherein all incoming interstate highway lanes are reversed outward, ensured that additional vehicles moving onto already congested roads would not create massive gridlock. The local newspaper reported that Nagin stopped short of ordering a mandatory evacuation because of concerns about the city’s liability for closing hotels and other businesses.[26] (That was somehow magically no longer a concern for any US politician in the winter of 2020 when “Covid hit.” They build out the Anaconda black project by black project. After receiving a late night Saturday call from Max Mayfield, head of the National Hurricane Center, Nagin was advised that Katrina was headed to New Orleans. He ordered the city attorney to prepare legal documents for a mandatory evacuation of the city, the first in New Orleans’ almost 300-year history. On Sunday, August 28 at 9:30 a.m., the mandatory evacuation order was signed and communicated to the public. The Superdome was opened as a shelter of last resort, and police went throughout the city with loudspeakers alerting all remaining citizens to head to key pickup points for free bus rides. By Sunday evening 80% of New Orleanians and visitors were evacuated or relocated.[27]
After the hurricane hit, the federally built and maintained levees collapsed throughout the city. 80% of the city flooded, some areas as high as 20 feet, over rooftops. Food and water became scarce, and looting was common. After hearing reports of this, Nagin criticized the federal and state response on WWL radio, and his passionate outburst went viral.[citation needed]

In response to a question at a town hall meeting in October 2005, Nagin said: “I can see in your eyes, you want to know, ‘[h]ow do I take advantage of this incredible opportunity? How do I make sure New Orleans is not overrun with Mexican workers?'”[28]Some Hispanic groups, including the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, criticized Nagin’s statement,[29] although those attending the town hall meeting reportedly applauded—many believing jobs should first go to locals displaced by the hurricane. Despite this comment, Nagin went on to say this was the city’s biggest economic opportunity and urged New Orleanians to get more comfortable working beside someone who did not look like them, as everyone’s help was needed. During a subsequent interview on Telemundo with Jose Diaz-Balart, Nagin praised the great work Hispanic workers did in New Orleans and said the city would not have recovered without them.[30]

Nagin says he made it clear at the meeting that everyone had a right to return home, a claim contradicted by some businessmen in attendance.

LOCAL SECURITY MEETING HELD IN HAWKE’S BAY
A couple of nights ago a local meeting was held in the Hawke’s Bay to discuss the increase in crime.
Bay View, Whirinaki, Eskdale & surrounding communities voiced their opinions and told their stories to Police Minister Stuart Nash, local MPs, police and local authorities.
CSM got off the phone this afternoon to a woman based in the community who confirms this is true and they were going back at night to their water damaged home to protect it from looters.

Many of you will know the ‘Weed Lady’ through her previous book and workshops.
In your gardens you will likely have a number of plants we call ‘weeds’ which are of benefit to your diet and health.
The definition of a ‘weed’ is simply ‘a plant that is growing where we do not want it to grow’.
Many of the plants we grow for food or for their flowers; when allowed to self seed they become weeds.
I recommend that you obtain a copy of Julia’s book and learn to your benefit, many of the plants you pull out, kill and compost which could be better off been cultivated and consumed.

Pharmaceutical companies hate natural remedies even though many of their concoctions were originally derived from plant’s properties.
If you have the knowledge such as given in Julia’s book then you can look after your own well being as our fore fathers did from all races on the planet. (And at no expense if out of the weeds in your gardens)
We have to read and learn about the advantages of these plants but in Nature animals know what is best for them as far as their well being is concerned.
For instance if you place cattle into a paddock that has a wide range of plants including weeds, the cattle will consume the ones that they need for better health beside eating a lot of grass.
Which is an interesting point in so much as grass is also very good for your health and in particular, wheat grass and barley grass.
That is if you apply all the known minerals and element to the growing medium.
Reason is that grasses will take up all the minerals available where other plants such as tomatoes only require 56 of the known 114 mineral and elements.
That is why some farmers will apply what we sell as Ocean Solids to their paddocks to the great benefit of their stock’s health.
I remember a farmer telling me one time about his practice of spraying diluted sea water over his paddocks which was much to the annoyance of his farming neighbour,
because a certain amount of the sea spray would fall onto the neighbors side of the fence and when the neighbour let his stock into that paddock they would rush over to the area by the fence line and demolish the mineral rich grasses growing there.
Julia mentions ‘your’s truly’ in her book and in particular in regards to ‘Smoothies’
I presume many of you have or still do on occasions, if not regularly, go out and pick a range of greens and put them into a high speed blender with a banana and wizz up a very beneficial brew.
The banana addition takes away some of the unpleasant taste of some plants and makes your drink very palatable.
Julia tells the story of how smoothies solved health issues that she once had as I found the same many years ago when I first started making smoothies from as many different plants as I could get my hands on.
Some plants are nice to eat raw and have flavors that make them appealing such as salad crops.
The rest including grasses are better taken raw in a smoothie.
Besides being of great benefit to your health another very good reason to find out what weeds you can eat is the unusual weather that has affected New Zealand recently.

The media aren’t really discussing it fully and people I speak to can’t seem to wrap their heads around how serious this is for us as a country.
What’s been lost: It’s called the fruit bowl for a reason, not just grapes and apples but also pears, onions, corn, carrots, blueberries, strawberries, honey, dairy, beef, sheep products including wool and also apiaries, nurseries and seed banks.
Wineries and orchards have had heritage trees and vines utterly wiped out. We’re talking 30-40-year-old plants gone. Countless bee hives and fields of crops buried under a metre of silt.
These aren’t just for fresh produce but also wine, vinegar, honey, bread and processed fruit and vegetables for things from muesli bars to ice cream and condiments.
The layer of silt now covering the once fertile land has been completely smothered. There’s so much cleaning up to be done before people can replant and fertilize it will take years to get back even close to normal.
In that time we’ll see massive shortages of all the above, affecting almost all food items you can think of.
A very apt warning and not only in NZ but also in many major food producing areas of the world, either through Floods or Droughts millions of acres of crops have been lost..
Think about that. You might want to start cultivating a few weeds for a ‘Rainy Day’.
Of course as we have seen this spring and summer a lack of blue skies with nice fluffy white clouds which has also greatly affected us home gardens as well as commercial growers.
Direct sun shine is what all plants use to create carbohydrates which is the energy that makes them grow, flower and produce seeds.
Hazy skies and cloud cover that prevents direct sunlight being available for plants and solar panels is a very big concern.

The reality on the ground in Hawkes Bay
Hey, how are you? Sorry, I haven’t really been in content. I’ve been trying to lay low.
From what I know there’s hundreds, hundreds dead the morgue – the morgue at the hospitals full.
There’s a morgue at the port that is reported to have about 100 bodies and I have spoken to someone I know that works at the port and he confirmed that.
But he also said it’s under army control and it’s classified.
So then I got a hold of a friend who’s in the army.
He’s actually been up in Gisborne. He’s due back here in Hawke’s Bay tonight, so I’m going to go and see him because he’s really cagey about what he says.
He said, ” I’ve been up in Gisborne and what I’ve seen there is worse than Afghanistan”.
So he’s been in the army 20 years, and he’s been to war and he said, this is worse.
My daughter’s boyfriend’s brother was working clearing a bridge yesterday. They were getting the slash up in he found a body. He recognized the hand, but the rest of the body is unrecognizable.
So I think that issue – and this is through talking with people I trust in Hawke’s Bay, not hearsay.
The issue was these bodies have been smashed by the slash. They have had downpours of water gushing past them. They’ve been beaten up and they’ve also been decomposing for six days in water and heat.
You can’t get a dental appointment in Hawke’s Bay because all the dentists are trying to use dental records to identify the bodies.
There is a group of 50 RSE workers (Recognised Seasonal Employer Limited Visa – ed) that were working in the Esk valley that have all been taken out.
The forestry boys on recovery mission – so the forestry boys, the navy, obviously the police, Search and Rescue – everyone are picking up bodies off the beaches and off the forestry blocks because I can get to more remote areas.
Apparently, the 50 RSE workers, no one can identify them.

It is a silent war, so silent that if you were not awake & switched on you would not know what is really happening. Remember Kissinger’s notorious quote about controlling food & thereby ultimately the people. So this video covers the enormous devastation wrought by weather warfare, flooding that causes the rising prices thereafter of food, hay shortage for stock feed, poor feed quality, decimated farms, fixed prices. Farmers are turning to the banks and of course borrowing on their land which many of us will know means they will lose their lands. The land grabbing that’s becoming so common now. Independent Testing Shows Wildlife Poisoned by 1080 (Sodium Monofluoroacetate)
Two non-profit environmental groups in New Zealand have today published independent test results indicating that 1080 poison was the likely cause of death at an environmental catastrophe in Westport, New Zealand. On November 9th, 2019, one week after a Department of Conservation (DoC) aerial 1080 poison operation 140 kms upstream, dead wildlife washed down the flooded Buller River. Hundreds of potentially toxic carcasses of rats, a goat, birds and numerous aquatic species were strewn across the public beach at Westport.
The full results of tests undertaken by an independent laboratory, using the latest methodology (see note below) and equipment, include samples taken from 5 rats, 1 weka, 2 shearwaters, 1 starfish and 6 mussels. The samples from 4 of the 5 rats tested positive for three chemical markers of 1080 poison, including the toxic chemical, fluorocitrate. This was also the case for both the shearwater birds. The starfish and weka also tested positive for fluorocitrate. There were no traces of 1080 detected in the mussels. The tests included stomach and intestines of samples extracted from carcasses collected from the beach and Buller River by volunteers. For the security and safety of the independent chemists involved, the identity of the laboratory has been withheld.
These findings contradict claims by DoC on Wednesday, which stated 1080 was not found in any of the wildlife tested. This raises serious questions about the methodology employed by the laboratories commissioned to undertake DoC’s testing. It appears from their lab reports (published on DoC’s website) that the samples were only tested for the presence of the active ingredient, fluoroacetate. But as Prof Shaw, toxicologist from the University of Canterbury pointed out, because of the delay in testing this would have already been broken down into other substances, for example, fluorocitrate. Scientifically valid toxicological testing requires the most up-to-date, and accurate methods to be used, and in the case of testing for 1080, that means analysis of the metabolic chemical markers of the poison from a variety of sources within the carcass. There are other serious discrepancies in DoC’s claims and associated toxicology reports. The number of rats tested is inconsistent, and in the pathology report of the weka it was noted “both lungs exuding frothy pink fluid”, a common symptom in animals that have been victims of 1080 poisoning.
The full results of these independent tests will be made publicly available on Flora and Fauna of Aotearoa’s website and copies sent to relevant government agencies and MPs. Flora and Fauna of Aotearoa and Clean Green NZ Trust, along with their volunteer supporters and many thousands of concerned New Zealand citizens, are calling on the government to act now to protect public health by initiating an immediate independent investigation into this tragic incident and stopping all aerial 1080 poison operations before more wildlife are harmed.
Note to Journalists: Sodium Monofluoroacetate (Compound 1080) is a highly toxic, inhumane, synthetic metabolic poison. It has no antidote. It is banned in many countries. The sublethal effects of the poison on humans are unknown, however it’s a proven endocrine disruptor and impacts upon the body’s major organs. It is manufactured in the USA by Tull Chemicals and transported to New Zealand’s two Government-funded poison bait factories, where it is mixed with cereal or other substances perceived to be attractive to ‘pest’ species (e.g. rats and possums). Tonnes of poison baits are regularly and systematically distributed via helicopters over thousands of hectares of New Zealand’s land and waterways – including drinking water catchments. For over 65 years of this practice New Zealanders have voiced their increasing concern about the negative impact of this indiscriminate poisoning, not only on wildlife, but on public health too, from contamination of the food chain. To date, there has been no independent studies of the claimed ‘effectiveness’ of this policy and no epidemiological research has been undertaken

Methodology is based upon the Pitt protocol (2015): biological material was removed from the frozen carcass, then an accurately weighed portion was homogenized using a polytron 3000 into extraction solvent. This solvent liquor was then cleaned-up and the cleaned pregnant solvent analyzed using HPLC with both Time of Flight, linear ion trap mass spectroscopy and fluorescence to check against standards containing fluoroacetate and fluorocitrate. The method was checked for repeatability and linearity. FT-IR and Raman were used to check for the presence of green dye acid 9, as that is only used in the bait pellets and is not a naturally occurring substance at detectable limits. Complete and robust Chain of Custody with SoPs available upon request.
Remember folk, this is from the same establishment that in 2006 lost a young deceased woman’s heart on its way for 1080 testing. The same establishment that failed to test the poisoned Waikato family for 1080 in the required time frame as an initially responding MD recommended. The same establishment that is still getting around to providing answers to the two South Island picnicking women who fell ill after being showered with 1080 pellets in 2014. The same establishment that is okay with there having been no studies done regarding the health risks of 1080 on the human foetus. The same establishment that retired MD Charles Baycroft says does not allow MDs to look for evidence of poisoning.
Note also: they did not test the marine life. Octopus, squid, crabs, crayfish? The actual food people who fish will be eating.
Do you really believe the authenticity of their test results folks?
The thing is as the aforementioned MD has warned us, there is never any evidence of 1080 poisoning because the MOH does not allow the evidence to be looked for. Period. No one will ever know he says, if you die of 1080 poisoning.
So, do bear in mind the following when going about your daily lives or enjoying a holiday in NZ:
The NZ authorities do not practice the precautionary principle with the spreading of 1080 poison. In fact they are now legally allowed to drop it into your waterways without the previously required consents, even though the manufacturer’s warning says take care not to drop it into the waterways. Whilst they continue to claim it is harmless, there is much independent research that says otherwise. (See 1080science for further independent info). In light of that, in my opinion it is safer to follow the precautionary principle, that is, proceed as if there were a possible risk to your health rather than assume there is none. Since 1080 is a known teratogen I believe it is particularly important for pregnant mothers or even those who think they may be or who could be pregnant, to distance themselves from an area where 1080 is being distributed, particularly aerially because of the drift of the dust over long distances. 1080 STORAGE SHED FLOODED – WHY HAVE WE NOT HEARD ABOUT THIS?

On 25 and 26 March, 2019, extremely severe rainfall caused extensive flooding on the West Coast of the South Island. The bridge over the Waiho River at Franz Josef was swept away., and the State Highway, the only access road up the Coast, cut in two.
Further south, on the banks of the Okuru River just south of Haast, is Nolan Road, home to members of the Nolan family and JJ Nolan, owner of ‘JJ Nolan’s Transport Ltd’. JJ Nolan’s transport has, for very many years, transported 1080 poison baits south from Whanganui to the South Island, to Haast, Makarora, etc. … to 1080 drop loading zones, or to Northern Southland Transport in Te Anau, who then move it on to 1080 drop loading zones, etc. Nolan trucks are travelling south from Whanganui right now, in fact. They are part of the big 1080 Gravy Train.
On Nolan Road, Okuru, is a shed used for storing 1080 poison baits. This latest flood swept through the properties pictured above in the aerial photograph, including, I am told, the 1080 storage shed. It is rumoured the shed contained at least 25 tonnes of 1080 baits at the time. As you can see (photo slide show below), this four bay shed could hold a large amount of 1080 poison baits. 25 tonnes is only approximately one truck and trailer unit. You can see a truck and trailer curtain-sider beside the storage shed, which gives you some idea. Only half the depth of the storage shed is visible in the street view photos, by the way.
(These photos were taken completely legally from Nolan Road, which is a public road. The ‘Closed area’ sign at Nolan Creek refers to whitebaiting. It says “Nolan Creek – This waterway is closed to whitebait fishing”)
Floods in this area are not new. Here is a video of a massive flood in the Haast area in 1994;
Why, then,would you build a 1080 storage shed in a flood-prone area?! Why did DoC give this contractor permission to store 1080 baits here? The second aerial photo shows old river courses (marked with red dotted lines) ! This is not a place one should even store chook food!!
1080 poison disperses in water quickly and easily, so imagine floodwaters ebbing away and imagine how enormous the concentration of pure 1080 poison in the last water to leach out of fadges of baits would be ! (1) (2)
The first property you come to on Nolan Road, I have been told, belongs to Maurice and Kathleen Nolan. In the Otago Daily Times (8 April, 2019), it is reported of this house:
“Wild weather lashed the West Coast last month, forcing the postponement of the calf sale for a week – and flooding Mr and Mrs Nolan’s house, the water reaching over the top of their dining room chairs”
TVOne News apparently reported a cottage on the next property along ( the one with the storage shed on it ) as being destroyed by the flood, too.
I am told the occupiers of all three of these properties had to move to the local camping ground after the flood.
The photos show the property with the 1080 storage shed and also show you Nolan Creek, a bit further along the road, to give you some idea of flood damage. Nolan Creek runs just metres behind the 1080 storage shed, incidentally, then crosses Nolan Road and runs into the Okuru River.
The high flood level is evident from the grass hanging on the fence and the silage plastic wrapped around the top of the fence in front of the 1080 storage shed.
If it is true, as rumoured, that the shed contained a minimum of 25 tonnes of 1080 baits at the time, I should explain to you how very lethal this is :
25 tonnes of 1080 baits contain 37.5 kgs of pure 1080 poison.
The LD50 for a human being: “Based on fatal or near-fatal cases of human poisonings, the dangerous dose for humans is 0.5-2.0 mg/kg BW (Negherbon 1959)”
If we take the lowest figure that means that 35mgs pure 1080 poison can kill a 70 kg adult human being.
Therefore 25 tonnes of 1080 baits contain enough pure 1080 poison to kill as many as 540,000 people and poison another 540,000!!!
SHOULD ENOUGH 1080 TO KILL 540,000 ADULT HUMANS BE STORED IN A FLOOD-PRONE SHED?!!

“Hmmm… that shed is likely to have standard 6m bays, but lets be conservative and say 5m. That makes the height to the top of the doors a bit over 4m. The shed is 70% as deep as it is wide so 14m.
That makes the volume somewhere around 1,100 cubic metres. If you were to fill that to the top with wheat that would be 870 Tonne so 25T would take up about 1/32 of the space. I’m picking that bait doesn’t pack anywhere as well as wheat but it does show just how much 1080 bait you could stack in there.
At 0.15% pure 1080, and assuming that bait is 60% as dense as wheat, that’s a maximum of 783kg of highly water soluble toxin in a tanalised-post farm shed, on a flood plain, with no bunding or other containment measures. Even if it’s near the rumoured 25T that would amount to more than 37kg of pure 1080. Who issued the permit for that storage?!”
*********************************** (1) Studies reported in the ERMA Reassessment of 1080 in 2007 showed that 1080 leached readily out of baits that were made wet by sprinklers:
“rapid decline [in 1080 concentration in cereal baits on turf under sprinklers] (ERMA Agency Appendix C page 380)
“1080 was detected in soil under the baits after 20mm rain, reaching a maximum after 100mm and close to the LOD after 250 mm” (ERMA Agency Appendix C page 381)
Also one of the reasons for its low rate of detection in water samples taken after 1080 drops was rapid loss of 1080 from the baits in water:
“the reason for so many non-detects in water monitoring..may be partly due to..rapid..dilution or loss of 1080 from, and disintegration of..baits within the first 12 hours of deposition..the author [Suren, 2006] recommends sampling within 4-8 hours..frequently resource consents require monitoring one day or more after..the operation” ERMA Agency Appendix E page 473″S
(2) Richard Healey comments again :
“There have been a couple of studies that give some clues about what happens to the 1080 when it comes into contact with water. Ogilvie, in “Uptake of 1080 by Watercress and Puha – Culturally Important plants used for food”, has a couple of observations that give a clue as to how contaminated the land around the Okuru will now be: “A study by Suren (2006) examined the fate of 1080 baits in a controlled laboratory flow tank, and found 50% of the 1080 leached after 5 hours submerged in the water, and >90% leached after 24 hours, thus being very rapid. While the flow rate used in Suren’s (2006) controlled experiment was faster than the flow rates recorded here (0.2 L/sec as opposed to an overall stream flow of 0.042 – 0.044 L/sec in this research), it still indicates the rapid deterioration and leaching of 1080 from baits submerged in flowing water”.
That study also shows that Watercress is particularly good at sucking 1080 out of water and concentrating it in plant material. The authors couldn’t find detectable levels of 1080 in water 14 hours after dropping baits into a very gentle stream, yet toxicity within the plants continued to build for the next seven days to a peak level of 63 ppb. The study methodology and reporting are however woeful.
It doesn’t seem to have occurred to the authors that water velocity is likely to be an important factor and so they give flow rates (for an undefined cross-section) which tells us nothing about how much water passed over each bait. They then confuse the issue by labeling flow rate as velocity.
One thing is absolutely certain however, someone should be checking the inventory log for that shed and sampling the hell out of the surrounding area.”
There has been a lot of speculation about this in the past six months.
Mandy Ram, a Kiwi living in the USA, rang the factory today ( last night, NZ time ). The owner, Charles Wigley, answered. She asked him if Tull is still supplying NZ with pure 1080. He told her …
“I know they are making baits”. She asked where the chemicals were coming from and he said “I have to go”
… and hung up.
I rang myself just now. I got an answer phone. I realized afterwards that it was 6.00 pm in the evening there, so they will be closed. However the answer phone message was :
“You’ve reached the Tull Chemical Company. We are not able to take your call at this time. If you leave your name, contact number, and a brief message, we’ll be happy to return your call as soon as possible”.
I didn’t bother. Doesn’t sound like a “closed” company to me !
In early August, 2018, No to 1080 Use in NZ received a response to an OIA request to the NZ government. The relevant answer is attached, which says we still source our pure 1080 poison from the USA.
The Google business directory still lists Tull Chemical Co as open. However in mid-August, 2018, I received a screenshot from another friend in the USA which showed it as ” permanently closed”. (I have attached this for your interest).
As well as this, if you go to Tull Chemical Co in the Google business directory and click on photos, one of the photos is of a child in a paddling pool. Someone is playing “silly buggers”.
BUT, Tull Chemical Company, Oxford, Alabama, USA is still open for business it seems. The address is listed as 130 Burton St. The sign on the fence says 327 Burton St.
Burton St is a very short street running off Williams St, and there are no other buildings on it.
I couldn’t get Google Earth to send me screenshots today, but I took photographs myself… looking down Burton St to the factory.
Please note the sign at the start of the street which says “FLOOD AREA” and bear in mind this factory has been producing around 5 tons of pure 1080 per annum. In 2004 and 2015, owner Charles Wigley said he “makes as much as 5 tons of pure poison annually, with most of it being exported to New Zealand.”
In an article by Jay Reeves, 2004, Wigley said :
“….he follows the law and laces his poison with black dye that would show up if the chemical, an organic compound, got into either floodwaters in the neighborhood or – if used by terrorists – a public water reservoir.”
The problem is he doesn’t/didn’t dye the poison scheduled for NZ at all.. it is reportedly white. (Be a bit hard to dye it green if it was already black!)
I have also, for your interest, taken photos to left and right, looking down Williams St from the start of Burton St.

Last week saw devastating floods in the town of Edgecumbe in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. Heartfelt sympathies to all who have been affected by this carnage. I was living in that region during the 2004 floods so saw the devastation then myself. Fortunately we lived on higher ground so were unaffected.
Further down the page is a link to a Give a Little campaign for those affected recently.
It seems little known that back in 1945 plans for subdivision in Edgecumbe were declined by the Dept of Lands because the area would always be subject to flooding they said ….
“…the township of Edgecumbe will be subject always to serious and dangerous flood hazard”.

However opponents to that advice or ruling won the day as can be seen in the article and the town was built.
I’ve gathered together here a few articles on the topic and note the frequent reference to Edgecumbe being flood prone but nowhere can I see any reference to the advice of the Department of Lands back in 1945 to not build there.

Everyone has been told to leave. People are being evacuated from the Bay of Plenty town of Edgecumbe where the Rangitaiki River has breached, flowing into the township.

Bay of Plenty Regional Council made the claim after the Rangitaiki River burst through stopbanks designed for a one-in-100 year flood event, gushing into hundreds of homes and forcing 1600 people to evacuate.
Though the weather has cleared, houses remain sodden and filled with mud, and some will be condemned due to structural damage. Residents will be allowed to return briefly to fetch necessities, but it could be up to 10 days before many occupants can go home to inspect the damage and find out what they’ve lost.
Flood-ravaged Edgecumbe residents vent their fury at officials during fiery townhall meeting
Hundreds of displaced Edgecumbe residents stormed out of a public meeting as fraying tempers tipped over into anger on Saturday night.
Bleachers were packed with families, children, and elderly, many hugging and comforting each other as the meeting endured and officials appeared to fail to answer the more pressing questions.
The crowd frequently heckled the speakers, often appearing enraged.

PM sees Edgecumbe flooding for himself
“We are on a path for solutions in the long term.
He says there are no funding issues related to national disaster recovery, despite New Zealand’s particularly bad decade.
“We don’t let funding get in the way of providing the support that’s needed by the households, the businesses, and the farms, to a reasonable level, to help them get them back on their feet.”
Whakatane Mayor Tony Bonne says there will be a full investigation to why the flooding protection system didn’t work and what can be done in the future to prevent this from happening again.
Bill says given the destruction there is bound to be a lot of opinions but there needs to be a full understanding of a town that is on a flood plain.
