What the Metiria Turei smoke screen is actually shifting your focus from

For several days we’ve been bombarded with the alleged historical misdemeanours of the Greens’ Metiria Turei. (A google search will provide you plenty of info on that). She has confessed and is apparently paying up what she owes. However, we’ve heard nary a whisper on the alleged, equally illegal activities of the new Deputy Prime Minister. What’s good for the goose is surely good for the gander don’t you think? Or is it all just a handy smoke screen at this particular point in time? Media is hammering it. Should you be in the dark on the allegations raised regarding Ms Bennett, have a listen to the interview below of a whistle blower who knew her as a young person growing up. He did try to make this public six years ago he said but was shut down. He’s being a little more strategic now. The language is graphic (a warning for sensitive ears) but the message is clear and raw…. people in glass houses shouldn’t be throwing stones. As has happened with Metiria, so also should happen with the Deputy PM. And then the PM Bill English has been found out, and in the media regarding his houses. These people should all be fully investigated where necessary, instead of focusing on one Metiria who is looking very much like the sacrificial cow right now. If nothing else with these two women, they’ve demonstrated that it is very difficult to make ends meet on a benefit.

Now I’m all for forgive and move on, however this is a political arena, and these are our ‘esteemed’ (?) leaders. They are highlighting one and hiding the other. Let’s get some balance and some fairness surely and investigate the lot not just a select one?

Important info about every PM since Muldoon – pre-election facts mainstream won’t be telling you

Thanks to Ben Vidgen for his excellent research and to Vinny Eastwood for the video presentation. Here outlined are some important facts you won’t see emphasized in mainstream media, which is why we need to support independent media. We’ve covered some of the data in various posts over the past years, and particularly of interest is the agenda that’s going down, namely Agenda 21 (now 2030) and the push of that by the globalists. A critical analysis of New Zealand’s leaders for the last 40 years! If you believe your vote does count, ask yourself this, why has every Prime Minister since Robert Muldoon belonged to international organizations pushing for an end to national sovereignty and a UN centered world government? And why then, has every single Prime Minister sold this country’s strategic assets to foreigners, gotten us into massive debt, made huge cutbacks in nearly every public service & weakened this country’s sovereignty time after time despite promising the exact opposite to the people of New Zealand?

The illusion of choice & why the Nats (who usually don’t care about the poor) are welcoming more refugees

From William McGregor

Y’ know, we have an election coming up later in the year, and all I seem to hear from the die-hard Kiwis is “National has got to go; Key & his ‘cronies’ have sold us out (to overseas investors)”!
And they’d be right, but there’s a far BIGGER issue going on here, if you take the time to dig deeper! Here’s what I see; this is MY view ….

Politics in Aotearoa has always been between TWO major parties – no different than almost every country in the world; that’s just the way it has ALWAYS been.
Yes – other smaller parties have come (& gone) & they have been more of a DISTRACTION than a help; and they serve to make people feel there ARE other alternatives, but there’s not – there’s left or right, (up or down, in or out) – that’s just how it is!

Third, fourth generation Kiwis have grown tired of the same old record playing the same old song…. we went backwards & forwards – National/Labour, Labour/National and it got to a stage where Labour was looking forward to having their turn again …..

Key did some VERY SERIOUS DAMAGE ….

11027945_10155204934275468_5671425971077631228_n

Selling out to overseas investors, back-door deals – leaving faster than he came into the political arena; this WASN’T by chance; this is VERY ORCHESTRATED by very POWERFUL PEOPLE, something most can’t BEGIN to understand!

Polls (strategically held in specific areas) have been used by the media to manipulate the masses! If those polls were held in Otara (Auckland), Highbury (Palmerston North) or Aramoho (Whanganui), they would be SO DIFFERENT they wouldn’t be recognizable!

Seventy to eighty thousand immigrants (refugees) a year over the last few years – that wasn’t by chance either! THINK! Those who arrived since 2008, and have applied (& got) voting rights, WHO do you think they would vote for? – the party that brought/allowed them (& their families) here, or the other party?! Straight up …. and they’re PUSHING New Zealanders to take a minimum 50 thousand per annum; they are GUARANTEED VOTES for them (National). Who bites the hand that feeds them?! They (the NEW New Zealanders) would feel OBLIGATED to vote for National; most would see Aotearoa as “Club Med” compared to the countries they came from!

We can’t even accommodate our own, yet the “Government Depts. can’t help our new arrivals enough…. housing/benefits/medical/schooling/employment …. by chance?! – NOT ON YOUR NELLY!

Regardless of party policies, you will ALWAYS go to the ones you feel are your rescuers, and National know this; they RELY on it, and they will play it to the hilt!

And we will let them, because that’s how we roll …

Ask yourself, what do the Nats care about the homeless in NZ, about child poverty, about youth suicide? Under their terms we’ve seen those stats worsen to the point we’re the world’s worst at all of them! And so in that light the above opinion rings very true. Were they truly caring they would also be caring for their own. They’re not. As I repeat regularly, under their watch we have all these dubious stats of shame. They don’t even flinch about it. Business as usual. So the caring motive doesn’t hold water for me. And it’s not about Kiwis not caring for the needs of refugees. I’m sure most us do. The point here is, we’re deep in the mire with 42K homeless. Their doing. I have noticed, Herald’s published an article with the affirmation of no less than four other former NZ PMs on the need to welcome 500 new refugees now.  So four other riders (of the same horse) agree. Very comforting.  EnvirowatchRangitikei

The Crown owned Tamaki Regeneration Co. EVICTS 5 grieving children 3 wks after their mother’s death – a not uncommon occurrence we’re told

Since first publishing this, I’ve read several times in social media that this kind of eviction is not uncommon. In a recent post a woman said she has seen a family handed an eviction notice PRIOR to the grieving family’s arrangement of the tāngi of their loved one! This is about as low as one can go. This current post describes the delivery of an eviction notice … and the company has apologized since (having been caught out I suspect) however if there are more experiencing this then it clearly wasn’t a one-off blunder by rogue staff.  Bear in mind also the information that’s come to light from Auckland’s anti corruption activist Penny Bright’s info about the Nats land banking state homes in Tamaki since 2012 to make way for private mansions. If anybody reading this has been similarly evicted, please feel free to add the info (anonymously or otherwise) in comments. Stay tuned as I’ll update this as I hear more.

A young Tamaki family of five aged 12 to 25 were issued an eviction notice with only three weeks to pack up their entire household. This came just three weeks after their mother passed away in their arms following a short illness. The family had lived in their home for ten years. The letter addressed to their mother (then deceased) and hand delivered to the children by the landlord’s employees of Tamaki Housing, who declined the invitation to come in and discuss the notice, is cold hearted and to the point, covering such ‘essentials’ as, leaving the property clean and tidy and emphasizing that other tenants needed the house.

Great stuff Nats. With the devolution of your once caring Housing NZ to this corporate entity, you can really bare your sharp teeth at the bereaved and vulnerable.  Your other corporation WINZ is driving people to suicide. Quite a legacy you’re leaving us.

The appalling treatment this family has received at the hands of this company contrasts somewhat from the profile presented on their website that promises to focus on:

“… delivering an innovative tenancy management approach based on supporting successful tenancies and being responsive to social housing tenants’ needs. THA works alongside Tamaki Regeneration Company (TRC) and other partners to make a positive difference to the lives of our tenants.”

Tamaki Regeneration, Crown owned, featured recently here in an article supplied by Penny Bright, activist and independent candidate for Tamaki.

Tamaki Redevelopment Company Ltd’s Crown Shareholders Nick Smith & Bill English

B. tamaki regen 2.png

Penny outlines the history of this company and its part in what she believes is the gentrification of Tamaki by property developers. She says in effect that Tamaki Regeneration is:

“… forcing poor people – ‘State tenants’ off prime real estate to make way for private mansions for the wealthy … “

In light of what has happened with this family, this appears correct. In her article she outlines the scam regarding the two companies known as Tamaki Redevelopment Company Ltd, and Tamaki Regeneration Ltd. A must read.

Read her article here:

https://envirowatchrangitikei.wordpress.com/2017/06/17/the-nats-have-been-land-banking-tamaki-state-homes-on-prime-real-estate-since-2012-clearing-out-the-poor-to-make-way-for-private-mansions/

You may also like to read Bryan Bruce’s take on this incident, who first drew my attention to this article. Below the RadioNZ article he posts (that featured here) several people have commented that this treatment of its tenants by Tamaki Housing is not unusual. A common occurrence apparently. They’ve since withdrawn the eviction … for now … cold comfort for these five young people who still have no guarantee they can stay.

In conclusion, all I can say is this is just about as low as any government could go. Remember they (rather the corporation/govt they work for) owns the said housing company. I figured the death of two homeless men in the cold of Auckland’s streets was bad enough … this adds further to the outright ugliness of neo-liberal economics and how it really works for the rich while screwing over the poor. Shame on you Nats.

Charges for three beggars in Napier now withdrawn – well done Napier, fighting poverty creatively

The new norm in ‘fighting poverty’ … charge beggars for asking for help.  The charges are now withdrawn but it highlights the ever growing problem NZ now has & tinkering with sticking plasters isn’t going to fix it.  This modus operandi is about as clever as the Nats who [pretend to] ‘fight homelessness’ by both land banking, and selling homes originally intended for low income Kiwis. Part of the corporate sell-out. Selling out to corporate interests over its own citizens. Why don’t they just call it what it is? See just a few of the 3K empty homes below the Nats have been land banking since 2012, meanwhile 42K are homeless & reduced to begging, sleeping in garages and sheds if they’re ‘lucky’. And in Napier, asking for money. Shame NZ. Shame. Under the Nats’ watch two men have died from exposure to the cold sleeping rough. Let’s face it Kiwis, we’re now top of the homelessness, child poverty & youth suicide stats for the developed world. Three dubious honours of which the Nats must be super proud. Their neo-liberal economic package is working. Key did say he was working for NZ, he just failed to mention which tiny percentage of.

Three beggars in Napier charged over breaking council bylaw by asking for money

From tvnz

Local councils across the country will be watching closely next month as Napier City Council has taken action over three beggars in the city asking for money.

The council has taken action charging three beggars with breaching a council bylaw that forbid them from soliciting for money without permission.

All three have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

While other councils have taken beggars to court for being disorderly or causing a public nuisance, this is the first time they have been charged with simply asking for money.

Natasha Carswell from Napier City Council explained: “We do not have a bylaw that counters begging specifically.

“What we want to address is the behaviour that is causing the issue rather than the begging itself.”

Charges now Withdrawn

newshub.co.nz

Police have dropped charges against three beggars who were charged with breaching a bylaw that forbids soliciting for money without permission.

Napier City Council’s manager of community strategies Natasha Carswell told The AM Show the bylaw had been used in the past for people busking and doing street appeals, not for begging.

She said police interpreted the bylaw “as they did”, but it isn’t how Council want it used.

NZ tops list of developed countries with most homeless – thanks National you do us proud

Well congratulations Nat government/corporation, you’ve now put us on another dubious ‘honour’ list. Most homeless? Two homeless gentlemen recently dying in the winter cold even. Highest youth suicide. Highest child poverty. Well done John Key. Well done Bill English. You do us proud. What next are we going to excel in?

Who next can you simply kick to the curb with your boot that’s looking increasingly fascist these days? Twenty billion to weapons and war, and only one to housing? Whilst you land bank our state homes, 42K people sleep in tents, garages and cars. Your monetary priorities say it all. You’ve ushered in neo-liberalism on steroids. You’ve trashed not only the people but the environment as well. And what use is any economy with neither of those?

NZ tops list of developed countries with most homeless

Social Housing Minister Amy Adams is rejecting an American University survey that puts New Zealand at the top of a list of developed countries for homelessness.

p2503enz

Yale University has released a list of developed countries ranked on the number of homeless people per capita – which has New Zealand at the top, followed by the Czech Republic and Australia.

It found about 40,000 people are either living on the street, in emergency housing, or shelter considered sub-standard.

The report does note that getting an accurate picture of homeless is challenging, because many countries define homelessness in different ways.

Ms Adams said the findings should be treated with a high degree of caution, as the survey did not have consistent comparisons from country to country.

“They’re not comparing apples with apples and to suggest that is our number of homeless is quite wrong.”

The latest ‘100% pure’ lies from the NZ corporation masquerading as a government

Well it must be getting very bad when mainstream media is concerned about the image of a woman drinking from our toxic (oops 100% pure) rivers. Seriously. Horowhenua has one of the top 10 worst polluted lakes in NZ, so toxic that ingesting it could potentially kill a small child or an animal. Then we can only swim in 40% of our rivers, how ever is the tourist going to discern which 40% they are? Signs up everywhere praps? Drink this but not that? Then there’s the 1080 issue (non issue according to the corporation) with the pellets landing in our drinking water. Ever join any dots about the soaring cancer stats? Isn’t one in 3 or less a bit high? Anyway, a warning to tourists, don’t believe the spin. Our esteemed authorities even dump sewage into the waterways here. Buy bottled water like you do in third world countries, just to be safe. We really are getting into third world status in my opinion with some places bringing home bottles from the water fountains.  Oh, and on the spin, NZ is not the least corrupt nation on the planet at all … sadly that is all spin as well. (See here also). Along with the not so well known fact that we are actually a corporation and not a true government.

New ‘100% Pure’ campaign shows tourist drinking river water

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=119&v=d3WXJQ0PSS4

While concerns grow about the health of New Zealand’s waterways – including the potential for reputational damage – it has not changed the way the country presents itself to the world.

The latest “100% Pure” campaign, released last week, shows a tourist drinking water from a river, something that would be dangerous in parts of the country.

The Government-funded ad was released last week by Tourism New Zealand (TNZ), and will be broadcast around the world over the next two years.

The campaign is titled “where one journey leads to another”, and anchors on a dream-like video following two tourists tramping, diving and kayaking in various locations throughout New Zealand.

New footage inside Pike River mine revealed

from Newshub

Newshub has obtained more video of the robot inside the Pike River mine.

It shows the two mine rescue workers in an airlocked portal in the entry zone, waiting to go in, and then clearly shows them inside the tunnel itself before they send off the robot.

There’s also a photo of a letter pinned to the tunnel wall by mine rescue workers who have already been in.

“We have commenced our journey to you: this has been the first step to bring you home to your loved ones,” it reads.

“We will not rest and we will never give up. We will return kia kaha.”

Several bodies intact in Pike River Mine – Anna Osborne

Up to six intact bodies can be seen in new video footage from inside Pike River Mine, the widow of a man who died in the 2010 explosion has revealed.

“There are a number of bodies, we’re talking probably four, five, six at the moment, we’re still going through footage, but at the request of the families at this stage we’re not going to release those,” Anna Osborne told The AM Show.

“But there are definitely loved ones’ bodies fully intact.”

Ms Osborne lost her husband Milton in the disaster. She says it’s been “six-and-a-half years of lies and cover-ups”.

She says the new footage is more than enough evidence for a manned re-entry into the mine.

“This author has studied this and other video footage of the event with international coal mining, gas and oil industry experts. All of whom conclude that the flames and smoke leaping from the top of the 110 meter ventilation shaft on the video clip CANNOT possibly be coming from burning coal at all (more than 110 meters below), or methane gas as the police and media deceptively claim. Coal and methane burns considerably cleaner with different colored flame and smoke and would not at all be in such high concentrations burning right at the top of the shaft (driven through hard rock) at such a huge intensity – irrespective of whether the main portal entrance to the access tunnel is open or not. The conclusion is that the fire on the video is a total deception and giant cover up.”

Here is a refresh on what the National Govt thinks is more important than the citizens of New Zealand.

I have compiled a small list researched from Newspapers and other media outlets, including Parliament TV, of what John Key and this National Govt believe are priorities over the people of New Zealand.

Ever wondered what happened to asset sale money? That’s despite Finance Minister Bill English promising in 2011 that all revenue from the sales would be put in a Future Investment Fund to pay for “schools, hospitals, roads, rail and public transport”. Money used from asset sales … one big ticket item is our membership to the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank which was funded as part of this year’s Budget and came in at a cost of $144M.
Another bank membership has also been paid for out of the fund. In 2014, the fund was used to pay $23 million for a subscription to the World Bank.
Computer programme for ministers.
Some of the cash was also splashed on the Prime Minister and Cabinet with investment into a document management project, Cabinet, which received $2.6M in 2012 and a further $1.8M in 2014 — a total of $4.4M.
Doing up Government House

In all, $500,000 was also allocated to the Prime Minister and Cabinet to be spent on a new Visitor Centre at Government House in 2012.

This is just a small part of the total failure of this National Govt in its responsibilities to the citizens of New Zealand and would be called corruption in other countries,

So the fruit with NZ labels may not be NZ grown after all – more lies from the corporations or human error?

Food labeling debate heats up, as big NZ companies voice their opposition

A fight nearly broke out in Parliament today over mandarins.

On one side was Labour Party MP Damien O’Connor, saying that shoppers were being lied to about where their fruit came from.

On the other was powerful Food and Grocery Council head Katherine Rich, who is strongly against making it compulsory for companies to say where their food is from.

Their war of words began when a select committee was shown pictures of mandarins, capsicums, and pears on New Zealand supermarket shelves which were marketed as being from New Zealand but were actually from Chile, the United States, Italy and the Netherlands.

“How can we trust a voluntary [labelling] scheme when your members are lying?” O’Connor asked Rich.

“I think that’s very harsh and very unfair,” she shot back.

“We have got photos – that’s lying to the public,” O’Connor said.

Rich said it was probably a mistake, and that her members were not responsible for supermarket signage.

“Are we seriously thinking that the poor supermarket worker who stacked that shelf set out to mislead the consumer?”

Okay, so mis labeling of a few mandarins, OR a few pears, sure that could easily happen. But mandarins, pears AND capsicums is moving toward the ‘hard to swallow’ basket. Human error? Or deliberately misleading us (from higher up the food chain)? As always question everything & all the more reason here to buy organic. Hard to wash the pesticides off & I’ve been told the glyphosate gets sprayed INTO the ground around the orange trees here in good ole Enzed. That’s from a grower who exports. Pesticide regulation in other countries is pretty loose (read ‘Circle of Poison’) given ‘civilized’ western nations have found a handy dumping ground there for their poisons banned at home – so yes nothing’s as it seems and not a lot is 100% safe these days. We have to ask ourselves, why on earth is Katherine Rich against labeling country of origin? Simple request surely?

Key’s true legacy & the farce of his knighthood

Key’s recent knighthood is a clear illustration and reminder of just how corrupt our govt/corp really is. To honour a man under whose watch we’ve descended to 41K homeless, and 3rd highest in child poverty in the world’s developed nations, who is very happy to tax himself & his ilk 2.8% while those in the poverty stats are taxed a whole 28% nearly a third of their income … all makes a hollow farce of the knighthoods in my opinion. Shame on John Key & shame on the pretend NZ govt (that is really a corporation) that honours such rogues. And if you don’t think Enzed’s corrupt as, read this:

17620313_437109669968945_1280417952120968965_o

You will find this barrister on facebook, consider connecting with him and finding out more truth on this corrupt nation.

And as for honouring former Mayor Duffy, under whose watch we in the Horowhenua heard whistleblowers telling us how he coerced councillors to vote as ‘expected’, and who displays total disrespect for tangata whenua (see our Local Gov Watch pages / Horowhenua for more info on those issues). Such is the rot now in our once democratic nation. Wake up folks & see what’s really happening.

We were reminded not so long ago by the Greens of Key’s real legacy.

“Your desperate, lumbering, grasping attempt at building a legacy with a flag won’t mask the realities.

Hungry kids up
Inequality up
Pollution up
Debt up
Housing costs up
Electricity costs up
Foreign ownership up
Corruption up

Once you may have been a national leader but now you look like just a National Party leader.” READ MORE of transcript or watch the video.

John-Key-Swimming-Pool-Metro-2006And not so long ago UNICEF declared we were third on the list for highest child poverty in the developed world. If you go to their website they’re actually pondering on how to solve this!! And the powers that be have just honoured the leader under whose watch this has developed! Join the dots people. This is not normal. It’s not right. And they are wanting you to honour Key right along with them, in the hope you won’t notice it’s not right.

See Bryan Bruce’s recent post featuring this news article:

18 Month Old Julia, the innocent face of modern NZ’s Brutal, archaic boarding houses

Bruce comments:

“A car, a garage, a motel room or boarding house is not a home.
No child should grow up in one.
Please make housing a priority when you cast your vote this year.”

Watch Bruce’s award winning documentary to remind you how this state of affairs developed. No, not the result of lazy parents (those ones who are taxed 28% if they manage to find a job, and another 33% if they should manage to find a second job as many do – while corporations pay almost no tax) … it is a faulty neo lib economic set up that never intended for those aforementioned parents to win. Trickle down is a scam.

Finally (and there are actually more issues I haven’t touched on like NZ’s very high suicide rate) – with our 41K homeless, a reminder that in Auckland 33K homes sit empty, owned by people who don’t even live here, while the Nats have been hocking off all the 15541907_1166773550086274_2314970506684602516_nState Homes our predecessors built with blood sweat and tears after the bankers wars they fought in. The rationale for selling has been to pay off debt, whilst, as Bryan Bruce points out in our article links above, the Housing Corporation was operating at a profit. These people lie to us without even blinking.

So Key has a knighthood that in my opinion means absolutely nothing, in fact it is a damning reflection on the state of our once democratic nation that is now wholly sold out to the banking fraternity that is slowly but surely entwining the entire planet into its plan of global governance aka new world order, aka Agenda 21/2030 that really aims to inventory and control all land and resources on the planet. And it’s right on track.

Stand with Pike River Families – Sign the Petition for re entry to the mine

Join 10+K others and sign in support of Pike River families for re entry to the mine. Bill English is planning to seal it, so much for National’s promises. (And if you’re not a Kiwi go to our Pike River pages for further info on the mining disaster that took 29 lives).

From together.org.nz

“Twenty-nine men lost their lives when the Pike River mine exploded in 2010. The Government made all sorts of promises to do everything they could to get the boys back.

Instead, late last year, they started to permanently seal the mine without trying to recover any remains or evidence. That’s despite many international mining experts saying the drift – the 2.3km tunnel leading up to the mine – could be safely re-entered and may contain evidence and remains.

The Government wants to seal off Pike River and forget about it. But the families of the men killed there, their communities, and the majority of Kiwis won’t let Pike be forgotten.

Sign the open letter asking Prime Minister Bill English to do the right thing by the families of Pike River and work with them to recover the drift.”

As Bryan Bruce is pointing out here & I couldn’t agree more:

“The government doesn’t stop people climbing mountains because it is dangerous.
Nor does it hesitate to send volunteer New Zealander soldiers to fight in wars where they might get killed.
So the Prime Minister’s “responsibility for safety ” argument is a bit thin.
If qualified mine rescuers are willing to voluntarily enter the mine to see if they can recover any bodies or remains then it seems to me they should be allowed to do so.
The problem for the Government is commercial liability should anything in a recovery attempt go wrong.
I’m sure liability could be waived by the volunteers.
Click on the link below to sign an open letter to Bill English.
Please share to give others the chance to sign.”

NZ has a rocket base that’s received $25 million Govt funding & is financially supported by the world’s largest weapons trader, Lockheed Martin

The new rocket launch-pad at Mahia NZ …  Photo Credit: Wikipedia

SOURCE

Did you know that NZ now has a rocket base? This news seems to have flown under the radar for many. I only noticed it myself a month or so ago. The base is actually situated in Mahia on the East Coast of the North Island, however it was originally planned for the South Island at Kaitorete Spit near Christchurch, also near Birdling Flat and the Radar/Haarp Station there (more on NZ Haarp here and here). The length of time obtaining consents appears to have been the deciding factor about a change in tack.  Rocket Lab noted one thing that prevented it from launching close to Christchurch which was the need for a cultural impact assessment from the council. A decision was made to locate the launch pad at Mahia instead. A cultural impact assessment (CIA) is …

“… a report documenting Māori cultural values, interests and associations with an area or a resource, and the potential impacts of a proposed activity on these. CIAs are a tool to facilitate meaningful and effective participation of Māori in impact assessment.”
http://www.qualityplanning.org.nz/index.php/supporting-components/faq-s-on-cultural-impact-assessments

So who is behind Rocket Lab?

Rocket Lab is a private company, with major investors including Khosla Ventures, Bessemer Venture PartnersLockheed Martin and K1W1.

Rocket Lab’s financial backers include Silicon Valley venture capitalists, Sir Stephen Tindall’s K1W1 investment fund and Lockheed Martin. It has received up to $25 million of government funding over five years. SOURCE

The company of particular note there is Lockheed Martin:

Lockheed Martin is one of the largest companies in the aerospace, defense, security, and technologies industry. It is the world’s largest defense contractor based on revenue for fiscal year 2014.[5] In 2013, 78% of Lockheed Martin’s revenues came from military sales;[6] it topped the list of US federal government contractors and received nearly 10% of the funds paid out by the Pentagon.[7] In 2009 US government contracts accounted for $38.4 billion (85%), foreign government contracts $5.8 billion (13%), and commercial and other contracts for $900 million (2%).[8]

http://m.nzherald.co.nz/opinion/news/article.cfm?c_id=466&objectid=11655793

The launch pad is stated in the following article to be,  environmentally friendly, which is heartening indeed given our environment that masquerades as ‘clean and green’ still is in reality pretty much trashed.  And regarding partnership with the world’s “largest defense contractor, let’s not kid ourselves, can never be termed ‘friendly’ in any sense of the word, given the carnage we are witnessing daily in terms of civilian deaths, if you happen to read alternative media that is.  The US is a nation that has taken defense to its ‘finest’, witness the armchair ‘warriors’ who expunge families with small children from thousands of miles away with drones. Lest you think I am being too harsh on these entrepreneurial people who will no doubt be supplying jobs to local folk (the usual candy cum rationale proffered by corporations) the deciding factor for me is the funding from the said weapons corporation. They won’t be helping fund this because they’re really keen to supply Gisborne locals with employment. We all know this is not the way of corporations. Neither will the Government/corporation be …  corporations are about profits not people. If the Government really had a mind to help people they would not make hard working families on minimum wage pay more tax than themselves.  Neither would they let corporations off with tax. To see how much they are let off watch Bryan Bruce’s ‘Mind the Gap’ doco on child poverty.

Madeleine Albright is on record as saying the death of 500K Iraqi children was ‘worth it’

Mainstream media tends to not overly highlight the deaths of little children and their parents in the many global conflicts. It gives war a bad name and they, including our Government/corporation, prefer to re frame and name it as ‘defense’. This is what John Key committed $20 billion of your money to last year (Kiwis) … not war … ‘defense’. They are defending us from Isis and similar terrorist threats that their friends in the US helped to create.  And the US’s Madeleine Albright thinks the death of 500,000 Iraqi children was still “worth it”. The British Royals are not averse to trading in weapons either.

Lockheed Martin is the world’s largest weapons manufacturer and supplier to such regimes as Saudi Arabia, a country that today stands accused of using these very weapons to commit war crimes.
NZ Herald 14.06.2016

On Tuesday 27 September 2016 a member of the public in Wairoa expressed concerns at the Wairoa District Council meeting:

The person “…..enquired as to when the first rocket will be launched and what assurances Council has that satellites launched won’t be used for spying or military activities…. Rocket Lab has installed the launch platform at the private orbital launch under development on Māhia Peninsula. The installation of the almost 50 ton platform is the final major step in preparing the site for the arrival of the first electron launch vehicle, scheduled to be tested in the coming months. The New Zealand Government has announced the development of a new regulatory regime for space and high altitude activities. It will ensure the development of a peaceful, safe, responsible and secure space industry that meets New Zealand’s international obligations.” SOURCE

Now that should put all of our minds at rest. The NZ Govt  “will ensure the development of a peaceful, safe, responsible and secure space industry that meets New Zealand’s international obligations.”

Nothing to see here ….

Anyway, that said, here is an article from 2015 on the launch pad:

Rocket Lab chief commits to protect environment

The company proposing a rocket launch pad on Canterbury’s coast says it is committed to protecting the environment.

Rocket Lab’s proposed site on Kaitorete Spit was officially unveiled this morning in front of Prime Minister John Key and representatives from the Department of Conservation.

So we in NZ are now third highest in the developed world for child poverty. We had 41K homeless last time I looked, and 33K empty homes in Auckland belonging to people who don’t even live here. This is the way of Neo-Lib economics. It doesn’t care about children, it doesn’t care about families, it doesn’t care about the vulnerable. NZ has spent $25 million on this pad, the country that is now a haven for the rich who seek to escape the fallout from their oppressive economic activity… and in light of all that, a rocket launch pad is great news. It really reminds me of a recent meme I saw. A politician leans in to a sleeping homeless man and says … “wake up … I’ve got a tax break for you”.

Mt Pirongia 1080 Poison Drop Breaches Manufacturer’s Warning

Published on Sep 13, 2014

On the 22nd of August, 2014, 32,000 kilos of 1080 poison bait was cast across Mt Pirongia, near Hamilton. It was enough poison to kill 240,000 people, almost twice the population of Hamilton…

A previous 2007 drop across the mountain was “hailed a success” by Waikato Regional Council, despite farmers raising concern about contamination, including to drinking water.

The New Zealand manufacturer’s (owned by NZ Govt) 1080 poison label includes the following warnings –

“Ecotoxic”,
“Toxic to terrestrial vertebrates.”
“Take measures to reduce of non-target animals being exposed to the toxin either through eating the baits or by scavenging the carcasses of poisoned animals.”
“Harmful to aquatic organisms.”
“Take all practicable steps to manage any harmful effects of a spillage including preventing baits from accidentally entering streams or waterways.”
“This product is toxic to wildlife. Birds and mammals feeding on carcasses of contaminated animals may be fatally poisoned.”
“Where practicable, the exposed bodies of all poisoned animals should be collected and destroyed by complete burning or deep burial in a landfill approved for hazardous substances. Dehydrated carcasses may remain dangerous to dogs or cats for an indefinite period. A single mouse poisoned by 1080 may contain enough poison to kill an adult dog.”
“Take measures to minimise the chance of baits accidentally entering any body of water.”

And … “Apply the product only as specified by label directions.” …

Flight charts released by the Department of Conservation reveal that 1080 poison was dropped directly into most streams and catchments, including to eight of the nine known water abstraction points. Poisoned carcasses have been left to rot in the streams, and animal welfare concerns have been raised. The Department of Conservation Mt Pirongia aerial drop, breached or ignored all of these warnings …

Did you know that your country is a corporation Kiwis? And your Councils are companies?

The New Zealand Government: A United States SEC Registered Corporation

Learn about why a corporation cannot legally govern, the corporatized governments of other countries and an investigation into the Reserve Bank of NZ ‘Corporation’.

Download the pdf file at the link provided at wakeupkiwi and see directions for how you can verify NZ’s listing at the SEC (Security and Exchange Commission) website in Washington DC for yourself. Your country is listed as being owned by Her Majesty the Queen.

You will find also most of our ‘government’ departments listed there as well. For obvious reasons this creates an anomaly regarding democracy when companies & corporations owe their first allegiance to their shareholders, not you the public.

Banned in most countries & classified by WHO as ‘Highly Hazardous’… 1080 is a broad-spectrum poison that kills ALL oxygen-breathing animals and organisms – Dr Meriel Watts

“1080 … falls within the category of Highly Hazardous Pesticides for which the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) is seeking a global phase out”

In April 2010 Dr Meriel Watts from the Pesticide Action Network NZ (PANANZ) wrote to Environment Waikato regarding 10-20 year consents for the dispersal of 1080 poison. At the grafboysblogspot.com her letter is recorded …

“As you are no doubt aware,” she wrote … “1080 is classed by the World Health Organisation as an Extremely Hazardous pesticide (Class 1a WHO). You may not be aware that as such it falls within the category of Highly Hazardous Pesticides for which the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) is seeking a global phase out.

That Environment Waikato is contemplating 10 or 20 year consents to use, let alone aerially disperse, 1080, when a UN agency is promoting a global phase out of all such pesticides is extraordinary. I can only assume that you officers are not aware of the situation.

To issue consents of 10 or more years duration also flies in the face of ERMA’s concern about such on-going widespread dispersal of 1080 in the environment, and their support for more research into alternatives. There will be no room for introduction of alternatives in the EW region if these consents are granted.

1080 is a broad-spectrum poison: it kills all oxygen-breathing animals and organisms. This alone is reason enough to cease dispersing it into the environment. It indiscriminately kills and contaminates everything from the insects that underpin the native fauna food chain to precious native birds, dogs and farm animals.

There are so many recorded instances that there is no need to elaborate on them here. Nor the fact that the suffering of these animals on the way to death is extremely inhumane.

That New Zealand has such a history of poisoning its indigenous species, livestock and companion animals is a shame we have to live with. But we do not need to perpetuate it. Thankfully the era of poisoning everything we don’t like is passing, and intelligent new, targeted approaches to pest management are taking its place.

It is time now for Environment Waikato to move forward with the rest of the world, and introduce alternatives. Trapping has been shown to be an effective method of controlling possums, at the same time utilising a valuable resource for the benefit of the national economy, and trapping technology is continually improving. On the other hand, years of experience of 1080 dispersal has shown that this approach is not sustainable, it has to be repeated at regular intervals, each time with its negative consequences for the environment.

Pesticide Action Network therefore urges you to reject the idea of extended resource consents for aerial dispersal of 1080, and to instead focus your resources on rapid introduction of sustainable, environmentally friendly, and socially supportive alternatives such as trapping.

Yours sincerely,

Meriel Watts, PhD,

Pesticide Action Network

Golden Bay locals decline accommodation for 1080 workers amid relative media silence still – Kahurangi National Park update

On 10 Feb we reported on the intended spread of 1080 over Kahurangi National Park in the South Island amid mainstream media silence. The Grey Star newspaper was the only newspaper we are aware of, to publish on it. We’ve encountered denials on various forums and alternative news sites this week, however reliable sources on the ground in the area confirmed for us on the 10th February of the pre-feed drop as actually happening. Mainstream, say locals, has been strangely silent on the event, although on the 15th February Stuff finally reported on the pre feed drop. This drop is the one that is poison free and accustoms the animals to eating the bait. The poisoned bait will follow.

carrots-resized-2
A pre-feed drop accustoms the animals to eating the bait before the 1080 poisoned drop occurs

We were also informed that locals, to their very great credit, declined accommodation for DOC workers doing the pre-feed drop, forgoing a sizeable sum of money. These people are putting their money where their mouth is.  Amidst local rumors whether or not the drop was happening, on the night of the 14th two big hoppers were seen on the back of a truck heading south toward Anatori.

This morning (17th February) several trucks and other vehicles were seen returning from Turimawiwi area just north of Kahurangi Lighthouse. They were obviously part of the drop it was said, as evident by the equipment they had on board. They had picked up a tramper who had been down at the lighthouse and saw no less than five choppers spraying the area. The tramper had had to flee from his trip to the light house because 1080 pellets were being dropped both north and south of this favorite tramping spot.  The tramper was on holiday from Wellington, and appalled to have seen no notification of the drop.

Pre-feed drop or not, there should have been some notification for the public.

This is UNACCEPTABLE!!

***********************************

It appears that the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) is seeking accommodation for up to 30 people in the Kahurangi NP area for the first weekend of March.

And in the meantime, the Otago Daily Times reported on the 16th February on the Makarora Valley 1080 operation near Wanaka with concerns about the presence of many tourists still in the bush.

There have been recent reports of 1080 pellets dropping randomly on the unsuspecting. Here is one. And another here.

Concern for trampers in pest operation

“The Department of Conservation has started its Battle for our Birds aerial pest control operation in the Makarora Valley near Wanaka but there are concerns about the apparent high numbers of trampers still in the area.

Doc Central Otago operations manager Mike Tubbs said the operation would begin today with a pre-feed of non-toxic cereal pellets dropped by helicopters over the Makarora valley and its tributaries, the Fish, Blue, Young, Cameron, Wilkin and Siberia Valleys.

Makarora Tourist Centre Director Rhondda Osmers said she wrote to Doc expressing her concerns about the number of vehicles parked in the trampers’ car park yesterday, at Makarora.   READ MORE

Media Has Been Silent on DOC’s Latest Poisoning of South Island’s Kahurangi National Park Tomorrow – Possibly the Largest 1080 Drop in NZ’s History

As is the custom of sold-out NZ media, there’s been little if any mention of this intended drop of deadly 1080 tomorrow anywhere. The lure baits have already been dropped today (13th Feb 17) to get our wildlife eating and trusting, while tomorrow they will be munching on genuine deadly 1080, courtesy of Mt Hutt Helicopters. For more information on NZ’s shameful consumption of 1080 (largest consumer in the world) that is banned in most other countries visit our 1080 pages. Particularly, watch the Poisoning Paradise doco by NZ’s local Graf brothers, links are there on the page. (For other articles and links on 1080 and how effective it appears to have been in destroying our birdlife, our wild deer, unsuspecting pets and even farm animals, go here). It has even been dropped directly into our waterways.

NOTE: see further down for an update, the drop is to start on the 15th.

Remember too to name and shame the contractors who drop this poison. It has to stop.

Massive 1080 drop about to start

By Laura Mills

The largest 1080 poisoning operation in New Zealand conservation history is about to get under way in northern Buller and Tasman.
The Department of Conservation is planning to carry out aerial 1080 pest control over about 270,000 ha of the Kahurangi National Park this spring as part of its Battle for Our Birds predator control programme to protect native species from a plague of rats and stoats.
It was met with protests outside DOC’s Takaka office this week.
The cost of the aerial drop was about $4.3 million, DOC spokeswoman Fiona Oliphant said.
It is the largest area in DOC’s Battle for Our Birds predator control programme, and has been broken up into six operational blocks of between about 20,000 and 60,000ha.
The Kahurangi operation is one of 25 confirmed Battle for Our Birds operations using aerially-applied 1080 poison over about 680,000ha of conservation land to knock down rising predator numbers fuelled by the unusually heavy seeding in South Island beech forests.
Six operations have been completed. The largest operational block completed to date is 30,000ha at Waitutu forest, in Southland.
DOC Motueka conservation services manager Mark Townsend said it was estimated that without pest control, rat tracking levels would reach 100% in November in parts of Kahurangi National Park.
Rat tracking levels increased from 54% in May to 90% in August in the Fyfe River area, from 31% to 51% in the Cobb Valley, from 43% to 78% in the Waingaro River area, and from 34% to 63% in the Oparara Basin, at Karamea.

“We are particularly concerned to safeguard threatened populations of whio, great spotted kiwi, kea, kaka, rock wren, long-tailed bats and powelliphanta snails.”
The drop includes the Wangapeka-Upper Karamea. Aerial drops are planned over 45,000ha in the Fyfe, Owen, Wangapeka, Crow and upper Karamea catchments in south-eastern Kahurangi National Park. An aerial operation was last carried out in the Wangapeka catchment in 2011.
DOC said yesterday this was its largest poison operation and it was checking to see if it was larger than previous Animal Health Board poisonings.

While Key Relaxes at his $5.6 million Luxury Pad in Hawaii, NZ is Being Sold Off to the Wealthy, 41K+ are Homeless and House Prices are Now ‘Severely Unaffordable’

Whilst as far as we know the man himself is currently sunbathing in Hawaii at his $5.6 million holiday home, back here by all accounts, folks from afar are buying up property like there’s no tomorrow in the hopes of escaping the ‘apocalypse’ that the spin doctors aka whore media are whipping up.

Super-rich American “preppers” are buying up New Zealand land to escape to in case the US collapses or the poor rise up in revolt against them, The New Yorker reports…Foreigners bought over 3500 square kilometres of New Zealand in the first ten months of 2016, over four times as much as they did in the same period in 2010. There are more than 40,000 people now homeless in NZ, a country that once prided itself in full employment and housing for all

41K+ Kiwis are Now Homeless

You only need scan Fascistbook for evidence of the spin. It gets more ridiculous by the hour and meanwhile, with NZ’s child poverty third worst in the developed world (UNICEF), more than 41K+ homeless Kiwis (2013 estimate) are sleeping in cars and garages. It’s to be hoped the new immigrants don’t have mental health issues.

Health Services are Strained to the Limit

In Christchurch recently a family removed their 51 year old relative from the Christchurch Mental Health Clinic because he was placed…

“in this room that has no windows, no air conditioning, crumbling ceilings and cracks in the walls. It would give anyone nightmares let alone someone having a psychotic episode.”

“The concerns with the clinic became public after an email from Associate Health Minister and Christchurch Central MP Nicky Wagner, which said the whole of Canterbury’s medical system was under stress while the city was rebuilt after the earthquakes”.

“While the city was rebuilt after the earthquakes?” Five years have gone by and under John Key’s watch little has been done. One woman said that…

She has been dealing with her insurer, IAG, for the past two years on reaching a settlement. “It’s just been a continual rigmarole. It’s been absolutely crazy. They’re still denying the extent of my damage. They bought a geo-tech in that completely denied the impact on my property. I mean, you can see the impact.”  Source

I know of people still living in caravans who lost their homes. Meanwhile Christchurch City Council has built a multi million dollar complex for themselves and helped fund art works in the Avon River.

Of course everybody knows a decimated city grieving the death of 185 people needs art works more than it needs housing for the homeless don’t they?

Housing Severely Unaffordable

And on the topic of the homeless, we learn of another of Key’s ‘wonderful’ legacies. Auckland’s housing market is now fourth least affordable in the world, with prices at ten times the median income. Radio NZ reports that housing in many NZ cities is ‘severely unaffordable’.

The annual Demographia survey, which compares prices to income in 404 cities, has ranked Auckland’s housing market the fourth least affordable in the world, the same as last year, with prices at 10 times the median income…

Hugh Pavletich, one of the report’s authors, said Auckland’s extreme house prices were a sign of failure, not success.

“It is actually a very serious situation. That’s double what a severely unaffordable market should be (5.1 or over). It’s a crisis situation in Auckland.”

NZ houses are now severely ‘unaffordable’ … ‘if govt had been moderately competent it would have worked to keep prices reasonable’ Mr Pavletich            Photo: Radio NZ

“Mr Pavletich told Morning Report when National took office in 2008, house prices in Auckland were 6.4 times the median income.

He said if the government had been moderately competent, it would have worked to keep prices reasonable.

“And if they had actually gone on and actually done something, and actually quietly reduced prices over the last eight or nine years, our house prices would be about four times incomes now, and roughly about $330,000 for Auckland.”

Mr Pavletich urged the government to free up land supply and called on Prime Minister Bill English directly to lead all the political parties towards a consensus on how to deal with Auckland’s high housing costs.” Read more

And then there’s child poverty.

NZ’s Child Poverty Third Worst in Developed World (UNICEF)

Does Key feel any shame when viewing this on the UNICEF website? Or has he even seen it? The world is discussing how to alleviate NZ children’s poverty, while NZ’s ex PM is holidaying in a $5.6 million luxury pad?

Who Has Key Really Been Working For?

But really, are we surprized? Key who said pre election when garnering votes he would be working for NZ, has proven to have worked only for himself and his rich mates. Watch an exposé of his activities by the late Evelyn Gilbert (RIP Evelyn) interviewed by Vinny Eastwood at this link. (You can read more of Evelyn’s revelations on the banking industry at this link.)

Gareth Hughes from the Green Party reviewed Key’s accomplishments last year in Parliament. He summarizes them really well, worth the five minute listen.

And reflecting himself (?) on his proud legacy of homelessness, child poverty, pollution, asset sales, indebtedness and more, Key is sunbathing at his $5.6 million luxury pad in Hawaii. A severe case of ‘let them eat cake’. Not for one minute do I believe his timely departure had anything at all to do with Bronagh’s tiredness.

No shame or remorse from Key or his government/corporation that UNICEF is brainstorming what can be done for NZ kids to thrive

NZ third highest in the developed world for child poverty!

This is shocking data. Are we surprised though? Really?  Key has been minimizing the impact of his neo-liberal economics package upon the lower echelons of this increasingly lop sided state of affairs we have for some time now. See the myth that trickle down economics is and see the stark reality of what it causes, right here in these statistics….

More smoke and mirrors from the halls of Parliament … Welfare benefits are now termed “addictive” … the new rationale for quietly dismantling NZ’s welfare state (Pt 1)

The latest spin from the powers that be, all about seeking work & not being addicted to welfare. Indeed welfare benefits carry a serious health warning reports the NZ Herald!

Doctors have been told that putting patients on welfare is akin to putting them on “an addictive debilitating drug … not dissimilar to smoking” (NZ Herald 16/7/2016)

What planet  are these guys are living on!? A corporation parading as a government that fails to concede we have a homelessness crisis also wants to blame unemployed for not working when basically there are no jobs (with nary a mention of course of the tax dodging multi national corporations)! They will cite figures about unemployment being down but the figures proffered are dodgy at the very least.

Classic case of smoke and mirrors basically where the victim is blamed for the crime. Shifting the focus off the facts … high unemployment (remember pre neo-liberal policies we had FULL employment & guess who borrowed us into debt?) their own mismanagement of the public funds ($200 mill Kiwisaver funds lost to a Portuguese bank plus $6+ mill spent on an unnecessary Hawaiian mansion) and a preference for pleasing the corporates … and onto blaming folks for having neither work nor in many cases a home.

1937448_392949560889033_8451382354884341927_n.jpg
NZ has a serious housing crisis with thousands homeless, many sleeping in cars and garages

As we hear more frequently about suicides and/or attempted suicides (highest since records kept) as we see increasing numbers of people living in cars and garages and on the street, with 33,000 ghost houses sitting empty in Auckland, thanks in part to Key’s delectable tax haven, the rich enjoy a pitiful 2.8% tax on their obscenely large salaries while the minimum wage cleaner gets taxed an equally obscene 28%, almost ONE THIRD of their income! Consider also, if the latter work two jobs to survive they are secondarily taxed as well.

14697_801013199981034_4004743798952688494_n.jpg
PM Key who it was rumoured earlier on, gave away most of his Parliamentary income … which it appears is pure spin

Consider also, this is a govt/corporation that is forcing people with cancer and undergoing chemotherapy even, to look for work. Most will know chemo seldom works and makes us feel extremely unwell while it’s being administered. These are the depths to which this government/corporation has sunk.

1509978_745670518844847_403082449805717955_n

Now they’ve flogged off those P contaminated state homes (and the state housing corporation was making money) many of which  just happened to sit on prime real estate, they want to rip out the net completely & vilify the jobless for not working. They are quietly dismantling the welfare state, capitalism’s essential safety net, the kindly (?) human face, and replacing it with a tax haven for the super rich … and us? We can go eat cake.

7_big.jpg
PM Key at home with corporates and clearly endorsing the sale of our water resources for profit

Serious times folks. Check out Agenda 21/2030. Corporations owe their first legal allegiance to their shareholders. The illusion of a democracy is all we have now. Time for change!

Welfare Group Warns Thousands Will Suffer After Changes

Only 40% of Your Rivers are Swimmable Kiwis, Check First, You Could get Trench Mouth – The ‘Sustainable’ Spin of NZLG, Trading Our Clean Water for Corporate Profit

Your esteemed leaders have traded your clean water for their corporate profits. And you didn’t even notice it was happening!

15747630_1199463936802579_4615127325200767485_n

Don’t forget folks, before taking a dip in our (no longer) ‘clean green’ waterways, check which ones your LG has trashed lately or failed to police.

untitled
LG, “… enabling economic growth and … environmental well being” … really? with 60% of our rivers too dirty to swim in? SOURCE

Your authorities that bandy around the term ‘sustainable practices’, ‘sustainable development’ while in practice doing the complete opposite have left us now with only 40% of the waterways safe to swim in. We posted earlier this year on how a person contracted Trench Mouth from ingesting water from the Manawatu River. I kid you not. Our esteemed authorities seem to think the nice images of kiddies smiling and WADING (note) make up for it ; they think we are all gullible. We know why our waterways are trashed and it wasn’t aliens or some strange biological phenomena. It was our central and local governments which are really corporations and not democracies at all, giving priority to their corporate mates. That’s right, discharge your industrial pollution into the waterways and we’ll turn the proverbial blind eye … we’ll even pipe a bit of sewage in there ourselves to add to the 1080 & Glyphosate (in Roundup) among other things.

untitled
Sewage pollution of our waterways by Local Govt: see Horowhenua article here

No worries, the folks can just swim in our heavily chlorinated carcinogenic pools instead, and pay for the pleasure. Chlorine is the new sticking plaster for pollution. We also pay large amounts of money to either remove chlorine (and other chemicals) from our drinking water or purchase clean water. And never mind the free swimming holes … the public will adapt eventually, and before long they’ll forget their grandparents even used to swim or catch edible food in them. Are you getting the picture? They have traded your clean water for their corporate profits. And you didn’t even notice it was happening. Remember, or perhaps you didn’t know, our DCs are companies and your government is a corporation. Look up your DC on the Dun and Bradstreet website. A registered company/corporation is accountable to its shareholders and is for profit and not technically a democracy.

hdcs water filters.png
Makeshift water filters in use  by the local District Council as partly treated sewage flows into a local NI NZ waterway  SOURCE

Finally, add to all of this the fallout from Geoengineering that daily pollutes our water, soil & air and you have a completely toxic cocktail of poison.

This is how not only your environment is compromised Kiwis, but your health as well. Soaking in chlorine is not healthy. Stats show that Chlorine is a carcinogen so long term soaking in and ingesting it can lead to cancer. Check out our related pages or search ‘categories’ for similar articles. Government Rains “1080 Hailstones” On Visiting Anglers – Welcome to Paradise Down Under

This is becoming a regular occurrence going by similar other reports & posts we’ve featured here. Poisoning Paradise would be correct (see Graf Boys’ video of that name). Still our deluded leaders continue to promote us as clean and green. LGNZ is currently advertising a handy app to make it easy for you to see which of the 40% that’s left of swimmable rivers is ok for you to take a dip in. Whatever way you look at it somebody manages to make a dollar or two out of the whole farcical debacle. This product (1080) is a deadly poison! “It was like big hail drops hitting the water around us,” said New Zealand trout fishing guide Scott Murray who is a co-owner of River Haven Lodge near Murchison.

It was no ordinary hail storm. The ‘big hail drops’ were toxic 1080 pellets.

The 1080 drop was a joint effort by Ospri for possum “control” and the Department of Conservation’s “Battle for Our Birds” predator control programme. It was December 2, 2016 when Scott and his two guests helicoptered into the Mokihinui River that enters the Tasman Sea north of Westport on the west coast of NZ’s South Island. The upper reaches in the river’s north and south branches are of wilderness character. Also in the area the same day was Zane Mirfin a Nelson guide and two guests. Zane Mirfin’s Californian client was incredulous when Zane explained what the aerial bombardment with 1080 pellets was about.

Solid Energy CE “refuses to listen” to UN mining experts on Pike River re-entry – what’s to hide?

pike-5
Pike River Mine, now closed since the fatal explosion that took the lives of 29 men and which mining company Solid Energy soon plans to seal with 30 meters of concrete

These families whose loved ones still lie in the Pike River mine, are determined to get them out, get answers and justice,  give them a proper burial, and grieve and obtain closure. They’ve gone about acquiring a report from both a group of UN experts as well as a British former mines inspector. The report which has been both peer reviewed and endorsed by mining experts advises re-entry to the mine is “absolutely possible”.

So why is Solid Energy’s CE not willing to even sit down and listen to this report? They have plans to seal the mine in February with 30 meters of concrete. What’s to hide then?

Bernie Monk has said he’s “over” the firm because of this refusal and intends to deal only with the Government from now on. He hopes to bring the expert who wrote the plan to a meeting with new PM Bill English.

This cold hearted and steely indifference to the human suffering of these families for their loved ones is atypical of the character of corporations. The term ‘character’ is not a misnomer by any stretch of the imagination. In the documentary called ‘The Corporation’, professionals in their respective fields have astutely classified and labeled the “legal person hood” that corporations enjoy, as basically “psychopathic”. This legal entity is constructed in such a way that it enjoys complete absolution from all responsibility for the harm it inflicts. We can see this playing out now in the Pike River mining tragedy. Please also read Dr Jacob Cohen’s exposé of their activity in this respect. The following information is from The Corporation film’s own website.

A Legal “Person”

“In the mid-1800s the corporation emerged as a legal “person.” Imbued with a “personality” of pure self-interest, the next 100 years saw the corporation’s rise to dominance. The corporation created unprecedented wealth but at what cost? The remorseless rationale of “externalities” (as Milton Friedman explains, the unintended consequences of a transaction between two parties on a third) is responsible for countless cases of illness, death, poverty, pollution, exploitation and lies.”

The people who work for corporations may be good people, upstanding citizens in their communities, but none of that matters when they enter the corporation’s world.

“To assess the “personality” of the corporate “person,” a checklist is employed, using diagnostic criteria of the World Health Organization and the standard diagnostic tool of psychiatrists and psychologists. The operational principles of the corporation give it a highly anti-social “personality”: it is self-interested, inherently amoral, callous and deceitful; it breaches social and legal standards to get its way; it does not suffer from guilt, yet it can mimic the human qualities of empathy, caring and altruism. Four case studies, drawn from a universe of corporate activity, clearly demonstrate harm to workers, human health, animals and the biosphere. Concluding this point-by-point analysis, a disturbing diagnosis is delivered: the institutional embodiment of laissez-faire capitalism fully meets the diagnostic criteria of a “psychopath.” “

Watch ‘The Corporation’ movie on our Corporations page. A very enlightening movie, it will switch on the light to what is really happening with this heart rending scenario at Pike River. It is time for these behemoths to be disabled and dismantled. They are about control and greed … and absolution from all responsibility for fallout from that. They are what controls the drive for introduction of the TPPA trade ‘agreement’.

Families of Pike River Mine Disaster Victims Release Expert Plan for Safe Re-entry

Families of some of the victims of the 2010 Pike River mine explosion have submitted an experts’ report to Parliament in a bid to stop Solid Energy from sealing the “crime scene” forever.

The report was written by David Creedy, vice-chairman of the United Nations group of experts on coal mine methane, and Bob Stevenson, a former mines inspector in Britain.

The report has been peer-reviewed and endorsed by Britain’s leading mines rescue expert, Brian Robinson, and mining ventilation experts John Rowland and Roy Moreby.

Moreby has advised Solid Energy, which plans to seal the mine drift, on re-entry of Pike River.

What mainstream isn’t telling you about Horowhenua DC …”We were dumped off committees, access keys taken, derogatory remarks constantly thrown at us …”

Copy of PROTEST 7 DEC 2016 053.jpg
A large crowd of protesters gathered outside Horowhenua DC’s building to protest at the ousting of the new Deputy Mayor Ross Campbell

If you attended the protest outside the Horowhenua District Council building on Wednesday 7 Dec (2016) and particularly if you stayed and listened to the events at the Council’s meeting, then you will have heard the new Mayor’s speech. You would also have heard the revelations presented by former Councilor Mrs Anne Hunt. Mainstream media have mentioned neither.

newspaper-1075795_1280.jpg

If you weren’t there you will only have heard mainstream’s take by now. Herald’s provided the damning conclusions & comments from a Massey University expert on the mechanics of Local Government. They have already cast the new Mayor as a ‘lame duck mayor’, ‘dead in the water’ through his supposedly poor and inexperienced choices, that is, exercising his democratic right using the ‘dumb ass’ LG law to select a Deputy without consulting  the other nine Councilors who don’t support him anyway. They’d already made that clear early in the piece by announcing they were rolling his Deputy, no explanation offered. There was even pre-election mention in social media by a relative of one councilor of the likely outcome if the now current Mayor got elected. He’d be a “Nigel no mates” it was said, if half the Council weren’t also replaced by councilors of like mind. Already a foregone conclusion? This is not a simple personality clash as media would have you believe.

2copy-of-anne
Former Cr Mrs Anne Hunt revealed how she was similarly treated in her nine years as a councilor

Mayor Feyen has acknowledged the law is an ass, and former Cr of nine years, Mrs Anne Hunt pointed out in her speech just how it was made that way. The Local Govt Act gave Mayors the option of choosing their own Deputy when Len Brown in Auckland became Mayor. It was never intended for all Councils. And it clearly doesn’t work.

Since mainstream is not going to highlight it for you, here is Mayor Feyen’s speech anyway. It followed a glowing report on the Economic Development Committee, (that looks not unlike insider trading) and was interrupted by Cr Judd  just as he was about to reveal how he and Cr Campbell had been treated for the past three years. Cr Judd had to be told three times to sit down and be quiet. You can head to the DC’s Facebook page and listen to it all for yourself. The Mayor’s speech is in Part 1. Below is the transcript.

Mayor Feyen speaks:

This is a difficult situation and I believe it’s been brought about,  and you would understand how this has all come about if you had actually been Cr Feyen or Cr Campbell, where everything that you describe, talking about corruption, that everything many have described …

… we simply weren’t accorded any democratic rights in the last three years. We had our access keys taken from us, we were dumped off committees with no explanation, people saw us constantly having derogatory comments  thrown at us by the past mayor, we were always interrupted when we asked questions, when we asked questions in writing we seldom got an answer.

copy-of-protest-7-dec-2016-029We had to ask the questions  in council & that’s what people saw. There was no true democracy leading up to these elections & that is something that I want to bring back into this council where people if they ask for speaking rights they get them. That’s why we’re getting people in here, that’s why people are coming back into council, because they’re seeing that there’s a chance for community to actually participate. It’s been a really difficult road, we’ve got Cr Judd who has come back on the scene, & we have two new Crs.

It’s a paradigm shift that the two Crs that asked all the questions, the public want us in & now here we sit as mayor and DM because they want a change, they’re actually sick and tired  of the half truths that are published in the paper.

copy-of-protest-7-dec-2016-030With the pressure that’s put on the media, .. that’s gone, there is no pressure on the media now  & now we’re getting letters to the editor in the paper where we’re actually getting the full story out there. As a new mayor, I knew it was going to be difficult, the minute I saw the results because I’ve had to put up with three years of being … point of order (Cr Judd interrupts) … no there’s no point of order I’m going to carry on speaking …. can you please take a seat and let me finish Cr Judd … I’m asking you to stay seated … thank you, thank you … I AM speaking to the matter in front of me , it’s quite interesting that every single Cr brought up the past in relating their story to Cr Campbell & I am bringing people into the context of what this is all about … (unclear from the recording at this point) … would give me the time of day during my time in council , that’s the truth of it.

This is crucial background information for understanding why the Mayor has made the choices he has. He was effectively hamstrung. And yet, again, mainstream has made no mention of it whatsoever. Curious isn’t it?

Add to this the revelations made by Mrs Anne Hunt. During her terms of nine years she endured similar to that described by Mayor Feyen and Cr Campbell … basically she too was kept out of the loop.  Mrs Hunt explains in her speech she was given information indicating ‘they’ would “make her life hell” should she become the Mayor in the 2010 election. She goes on to explain that this was not just about Michael Feyen or Ross Campbell.

“… this was not just about Michael Feyen or Ross Campbell … what has happened she said, would happen to anybody who unseated Mayor Duffy…”

She described how for nine years as a councilor she’d been under pressure to sing from the same song sheet. Read at the link of a Code of Conduct incident obtained under the Official Information Act describing Mayor Duffy’s alleged intimidating behavior. You can listen to Mrs Hunt’s speech on the HDC website also, it too is in Part 1.

(Unfortunately this recording has now gone you may find it by searching HDC’s site or asking for the archives there).

So, it’s a little rich that we have Cr Wanden and other Crs in their speeches stressing openness, communication, respect and trust. What astounds me most is that all the councilors who would have observed the bullying behavior described that went on for three years (and beyond) said or did nothing to stop it. We can’t conclude they didn’t know, otherwise jaws should have dropped when the truth was told right there that Wednesday. Jaws didn’t drop however, it’s business as usual, and mainstream is saying nothing, zip, zilch.

And finally, aside from all of that, neither has there been any mention of opening the books. Or why the same nine who voted the Deputy Mayor out promptly voted against opening the books, first meeting after the installation of Mayor Feyen. You really have to wonder why. If it is all so squeaky clean they should be proud to show us the books.

All that debt, $68 million! With a CE on a $250K salary. Doesn’t make sense does it?

Foxton drinking water

On a very bright note however, since the elections Foxton now has two outlets to fill containers with filtered water. The former Mayor insisted the water was fine … it is not and hasn’t been for as long as some folks who live there can remember. We will soon however have a largely unwanted street do up worth $1.5 million. Flash streets are more important than healthy water it would seem.

Do read our Local Government Watch pages at the menu, and note these goings on are by no means confined to the Horowhenua. Your country Kiwis is not what it used to be. If you watch the video of the gentleman whom Rodney Council took to the cleaners, he relates how an ex Scotland Yard official now in NZ has described your country as one of the most corrupt in the world. Thing is, Kiwis are so trusting and blind they’ve convinced themselves it is one of the least corrupt. For more light reading check out Mainstream Media on how your reading material is carefully filtered.

Note: Cr Campbell declined to reply to the criticism against him. By visiting our Local Government Watch pages (Horowhenua) you can learn more about his historical querying of excessive Council debt, his genuine concerns regarding the Economic Development Committee and his efforts at exposing the pollution of his ward’s waterways by negligent Council practices.

The Real Reason Your Rural Banks are Closing Kiwis – It’s Not Lack of Funds

Reports in August last year (2016) told us that in spite of $1 billion Profit, Westpac was still looking to close 19

hands-1319624_1280.jpgrural Branches. So it isn’t because they’re not making money. Same scenario with Housing NZ. Those homes are being hocked off by the thousands currently, not because they are an encumbrance, in fact the Housing Corporation is/was running at a profit. Cast your eye back to the late ’80s and the new Neoliberal rip-off economy that promised us they were working smarter amidst a whole palaver about restructuring aka structural adjustment that seemed to mysteriously only affect the workers and equally as mysteriously fatten the purses of the already wealthy. The gap is getting wider, watch.

These closures began back in the aforementioned late ’80s when banks, hospitals, pharmacies, postal, transport and medical services and so on, collapsed slowly, one by one, like a house of cards. Folks at the time put up a huge fight to retain these services and were successful for a time, however, they eventually closed. The seemingly inevitable. And back then, like now, they were simply decisions from the top echelon in Wellington – economic priorities, not inevitabilities at all. And slowly, as was the intended effect, folks drifted to the cities in order to support themselves and their families. Kiwis are resourceful and not lazy like the current regime would have you believe. We had full employment before the new banking/corporate government took control.

IMG_4196
Slowly, as services were closed, the result of economic decisions in Wellington, people moved to the cities in order to support their families

If you would like to know the agenda behind those decisions you need to look at the UN Long Term Plan, called specifically Agenda 21 and Agenda 2030. It is very long hence few will have read it. However there are many commentaries/exposes/critiques of it online fortunately, by those who have read it cover to cover, notable people like ex Aussie politician, Anne Bressington. Watch her video at the link. This is the forward thinking plan that superficially looks great and touts sustainability and global cooperation. Be assured it is everything but. Look now at our District Councils, our Local Governing bodies and see how they flout the term sustainability (in practice that is). Their websites however have all the right spin. People are now waking up to the fact and the reality that our nation is being in fact, severely polluted to the extent we can only swim safely in 40% of our rivers.

And so in line with this change of regime that has been creeping on us since the late ’80s

IMG_4150.JPG
Mangaweka in the central North Island, a once thriving town, drastically affected historically by the closure of services

and Rogernomics, the closure of facilities in rural areas is designed to drive us to the cities. Friends tell me their rates in the rural towns are far dearer than city rates … with less amenities. If you take the time to research Agenda 21/30 you will see the long term plan – in short – is for us to live in high rise city apartments and riding bicycles for transport. That is the general shift that is in motion.

For a local expose of the plan visit our Agenda 21/30 in NZ pages … Dr Naomi Jacobs has written an ebook about it (downloadable from that page), triggered by the rising rates scenario (an increasingly familiar theme) in Kaipara in the North. No this is not conspiracy theory, it is a documented UN Agenda fact. You owe it to yourself to read it. It concerns you & your descendants.

The great big list of John Key’s big fat lies

As Key,  is apparently swanning off with his family to Hawaii tomorrow following his shock resignation, likely deserting the ship he’s helped sink, let’s reflect on our ‘esteemed’ leader’s honesty or lack thereof for the past terms we’ve had him installed with his wrecking ball. He wasn’t a banker for nothing. Our post war leaders will be turning in their graves.

Pike families have been given control of mine road

Pike families take control of mine road

A flame burns from the end of a ventilation shaft of the Pike River coal mine near Greymouth on November 30, 2010.© REUTERS/The Press/Iain McGregor/Pool A flame burns from the end of a ventilation shaft of the Pike River coal mine near Greymouth on November 30, 2010. The families of the men who died in the Pike River coal mine say the owner of the road accessing the mine has given control of it to them.

The families of the 29 men who died in the mine in November 2010 have been fighting the sealing of the mine, saying the drift, a tunnel leading to the mine proper, is safe to enter.

The mine was privately owned at the time of the explosions but is now owned by state-owner coal miner Solid Energy, which says the mine is not safe to enter.

The families have been protesting on the road to the mine, and on Sunday posted on social media “there’s been a wee development”.

“Turns out, Solid Energy don’t own a big slice of the road to the Pike River access road, and don’t have any legal right to access it.”

It’s the only way to get to the mine in the West Coast region of New Zealand’s South Island.

“Oh, and the lovely local farmer who does own it, being a top bloke and loyal Coaster, has given control to us.

“So, you know, we’ll try hard to be reasonable landlords. We’ll allow access for genuine emergencies, if they ask nicely. But, well, that’ll be it for now.

“The town bully just went down.”

The Pike River families plan to go to parliament in Wellington on Tuesday to present the new prime minister with a new legal and technical plan to allow for re-entry of the drift “to retrieve evidence of what happened to our boys, and any remains which may lie there”.

Last week, Solid Energy published an open letter in newspapers explaining its position.

It rejected claims a “quick” inspection of the 2.3km drift, or entry shaft, is safe, that it is not listening to families’ experts, talking to the families and acting with indecent haste.

It also labelled the idea the mine was being sealed because it had something to hide or was colluding with the government in a cover-up plot as “incorrect and farcical”.

So Key’s Resigned Amidst Quake Warnings and Other Things – What’s Going on Kiwis?

It’s been an eventful week nobody could argue, and an equally as eventful time since the very large quake that rattled NZ last month on November 14th. What to make of it all?

Yesterday we heard our esteemed leader (said with tongue in cheek) has resigned, along with a further afield & equally surprising resignation by the Italian PM.

Shamubeel Eaqub, economist is hinting at a possible housing bubble burst [Photo: Stuff.co.nz]
Then last weekend we had Gerry Brownlee advising us to be prepared for a major quake and yesterday along with the PM’s shock announcement, the equally esteemed economist Shamubeel Eaqub (the one of ‘zombie towns have to die’ Agenda 21 renown) is hinting that the housing bubble could be set to burst. They were talking about this back in June. So what’s really going on here? In my humble opinion it all has a very suspicious smell to it.

On the quake topic,  a trusted friend recently told me

“…a mate of mine’s husband is a first responder, he was called by his team leader 2 days before Gerry Brownlee got this out in the media, and told to triple his first aid kits and to prepare his family’s emergency kit…”

There is a man who gave folks a heads up on the last quake (Nigel Gray, an unassuming painter and decorator from the Hawke’s Bay who has been documenting geoengineering and weather modification)  drawing world wide attention to Kiwiland. He has indicated we should be on the alert next week either side of 13.12.2016.

Note mainstream originally debunked him … until he drew global attention, then they did an about turn. Typically of media, and not surprising in that he has drawn attention to geoengineering, something our government admits is a scientific practice, but deny is happening here.

So basically I’m not taking any chances, as neither we should in light of Brownlee’s warning even. We need to be prepared in any event so stay safe people and get your emergency back up plan ready. Just in case.
