Gisborne District Council – Racism isn’t going away (and nor will we).

Ahhh Councils… they really know how to put the “settler” in settler colonialism. Maybe it’s the dominance of older white farmers. Maybe it’s the tantalising opportunity to directly manipulate land and resources within a region. Maybe it’s the finger sandwiches and savouries. Whatever the cause – Councils around the country can’t seem to help but fall prey to their own settler colonial mentalities, downplaying the issues that disadvantage Māori, like Institutional racism, Treaty responsibilities, and fair representation, to focus on “more pressing matters”.
There have been some very asute observations by the public around the way in which the recent issue of racism within local government in Gisborne have been handled, with recommendations that the Council requires basic governance training more than Treaty or race relations training. I can completely see where that line of reasoning comes from.

Japan recognizes first death related to Fukushima cleanup

The Japanese government has recognized the first death associated with cleanup work at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant after the tsunami disaster in March 2011, according to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
The government designated the death of an unnamed man in his 50s as an “industrial accident.” The man, who had worked at the plant from 1980 to 2015, was diagnosed with lung cancer in February 2016.
After the 2011 tsunami that was triggered by a 9.0-magnitude earthquake, the man was assigned to “radiation control” work in which he was responsible for monitoring radiation levels and work time of cleanup crews.
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare recognized his cancer and death as related to his work at the plant. A committee of experts determined his accumulated radiation level exceeded government standards.

Environment Court orders halt to Auckland Council’s 1080 drop in Hunua Ranges
[NZ Herald] A trust opposing Auckland Council’s 1080 poison drop in the Hunua Ranges has won a court injunction temporarily suspending the operation.
The council had already begun covering the bush with non-toxic pre-drop pellets, to be followed up with 1080 within seven to 10 days, despite being aware of the application to the Court from the Friends of Sherwood Trust.
Judge Jeff Smith said the pre-feed drop had commenced just prior to a telephone conference.
“The Council proceeded with the drop in the knowledge of this application and therefore at its own peril in the event that the interim orders are granted for the long term.”

Dr Neil Hayes, Royal Chartered Environmentalist says “DoC’s aerial 1080 program has absolutely nothing whatever to do with the elimination of predators … it is a billion dollar business”
A CHARTERED ENVIRONMENTALIST SPEAKS OUT ON 1080 POISON
“I have just received this summary of DoC’s 1080 poison programme from Dr.Neil Hayes, who was awarded a QSM in recognition of his thirty-four years of continuous involvement in attempting to save the rare and critically endangered NZ Brown Teal (Anas chlorotis) from extinction, and is a Royal Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv).
The photo shows the beautiful Taumata Lagoon, of which Neil Hayes is a part-owner. The lagoon was classified by the Greater Wellington Regional Council as a Wetland of National Importance. The lagoon and its environs are some 30-hectares in size, with around 200 mature Kahikatea and 100 mature Totara.
Dr. Hayes says :
“The Department Of Conservation’s aerial bombardment of 1080 is a very serious environmental disaster and is by far the most successful propaganda campaign ever to take place in New Zealand (and possibly the WORLD!). The DOC program has absolutely nothing whatever to do with the elimination of predators. It is simply a billion dollar business, for these reasons:
- There are now very few possums & only 0.004% carry Bovine TB … 1080 has little effect on feral cats, ferret, stoat or weasel numbers – all of which carry Bovine TB
- 1080 has little effect on rat numbers (DOC’s mythical annual ‘explosion’ of rat numbers in areas that have been aerially bombarded with 1080 on numerous occasions confirms that the DOC 1080 program is all about money, because there is still an abundance of rats!)
- 1080 has little effect of hedgehog numbers
- The movement of domestic cattle is mainly responsible for the spread of Bovine TB!
- It is a billion dollar industry that is now totally out of control !
The DOC program has so far:
- Eliminated over 10,000 domestic animals
- Pushed already endangered birds closer towards extinction, with over 10,000 Kea being killed by 1080 in the past five years!
- Pushed two of the world’s rarest species of frogs closer towards extinction
- Contaminated rivers, lakes and town water supplies
- Eliminated invertebrates in creeks, streams and rivers
- Poisoned fresh-water trout, thereby destroying a major part of our tourism industry
- Cost New Zealand tax-payers several billion dollars!
- Eliminated millions of endemic bush birds and in areas where here the poison has been dropped the BUSH IS SILENT
DOC’s 1080 program has nothing whatever to do with eliminating predators – all of which are readily eliminated by trapping and reside only in the forest fringes.

No one will know Dr Baycroft says, because Doctors are bullied into not doing the tests!
“In case you have any doubt, the MOH and their clerical employees have a great deal of control over our medical professions and they do not take kindly to anyone expressing an opinion that they disagree with. Working Doctors with current practicing certificates have to tread lightly where the MOH and their agendas are concerned.”
NZ wide yesterday, thousands protested from one end of the country to the other (you can see all the wonderful photos and videos at Facebook). In usual mainstream style nary a mention of the protest, except in an extremely skewed & negative way which is typical of MSM anyway. MSM is the long arm of the new corporatocracy that is looking more police statish than ever going by recent events. It is time they woke up & started listening to the people.
What particularly caught my ear among the speeches was that given by retired NZ GP Dr Charlie Baycroft (there was more caught my ear which I’ll cover in later posts). We published info on his recent suggestion to the public that they get tested before & after a 1080 drop if they were at all concerned about being poisoned. He was then threatened by the MOH with prosecution for doing that. Something is seriously wrong with that picture isn’t it? Why do you not encourage any activity with a safety focus?
Anyway, he made the statement at the protest that if you die of 1080 poisoning, nobody will know why you did because nobody will do the tests to show if there are residues of the poison in your body (neither, bear in mind, is there an antidote to 1080 poison!). You can hear him speak in the video, he is speaking already as the video begins.
“You will not know if 1080 made you sick. If you go to the Doctor, what reception will you get? I’ve heard from the people. You’ll get told ‘don’t worry about it, go home, don’t worry about it’. You know, will you have some blood tests to see if your cells have been damaged & have started releasing enzymes (omitted sentences here as sound is unclear) …. no you will not, why? because the Doctors are being bullied into not doing the tests. If you die from 1080, how will your family know? They will not know because nobody will do the tests to find the residues of the poison in your body, so the truth of the matter is, this is really dangerous”.
Dr Baycroft responded recently to the article about threatened prosecution:
“Hello.
This threat is old news. I replied and then no more correspondence or answers to the relevant questions that I asked. Perhaps they forgot that old retired doctors without practicing certificates are not afraid of them?
In a recent facebook post, someone reported asking their doctor about investigations of exposure to 1080 and was told to “Google it”. I would have expected a more polite and maybe even concerned response.
This is especially odd because the medical officer of health for that area alleges that local doctors have been sent “up to date information” about investigating exposure to 1080. This includes advice that the specific test for 1080 can be funded and free, which the same person previously denied.
Did the Doctors receive this information?
Did they bother to read it?
Is the information really “up to date” and accurate? Maybe not?
What about the patients? Should they not receive this information as well?
Apparently not because I asked and was told it is only available if requested in reference to the Official Information Act. I applied but still did not receive it but did find that someone had put it on Facebook.
Good news seems to be that Medical Officers of Health (some, perhaps) are starting to understand what the word “poison” means and that 1080 KILLS PEOPLE.
The bad news seems to be that they are being all “secret squirrel” about letting people who might become ill from 1080 know what to do about it.
In case you have any doubt, the MOH and their clerical employees have a great deal of control over our medical professions and they do not take kindly to anyone expressing an opinion that they disagree with.
Working Doctors with current practicing certificates have to tread lightly where the MOH and their agendas are concerned.
Old retired ones without practicing certificates still have the freedom to say what they think when they are sincerely concerned that people might be exposed to chemical weapons that could harm or kill them and never be detected.

Prefeed is to be dropped on 6 Sept. T. Croft Ltd’s trucks (Greymouth), presumably with prefeed aboard, and Mt Hutt Helicopters Ltd. (Methven) trucks, with hoppers and loaders aboard, were photographed leaving Cromwell and heading towards Queenstown earlier this afternoon.
Two iconic brown trout fisheries, the Oreti and the Mataura Rivers, will have their headwaters deluged with 1080 poison baits, just weeks before opening of the fly-fishing season. Approximately 100 tonnes of 1080 poison baits will be dropped from the sky.
As well as this Mossburn, on the edge of the drop zone, advertises itself as the deer capital of New Zealand, as it was involved with live deer recovery from the wild and the establishment in 1972 of the first deer farm.
MOSSBURN IS PART OF THE NATIONWIDE ANTI-1080 PROTEST, SEPTEMBER 8th! Outside the Stag, 11.00am – 2.00 pm

This email was received by a farmer in the area, who tried to get a bigger buffer zone as he has lambing and calving going on, but DoC refused. He has to contend with a 200 metre buffer zone – it is not enough !
They told him on the phone yesterday that the poison itself will be dropped next week :

(AFP) A large number of Americans are stepping back from Facebook in the wake of recent scandals over the social network’s handling of private user data, a study showed Wednesday.
The Pew Research Center report found 42 percent of US Facebook users said they had “taken a break” from the platform in the past 12 months, and 26 percent said they had deleted the Facebook app from their phone.
Among those in the 18-29 age group, the break with Facebook appeared more pronounced, with 44 percent claiming to have deleted the Facebook mobile app.
Although the survey did not indicate how many users were quitting Facebook entirely, the findings suggest a clouded outlook for the company which has been roiled by news of the hijacking of private data by political firm Cambridge…

Orillion was until recently called Animal Control Products (ACP) a New Zealand State Owned Enterprise (SOE) and before that simply “The Wanganui Poison Factory” set up by the NZ Government in the 1950’s.

Far North 1080 aerial drop called off following outrage from iwi over no consultation by DoC

These are familiar words around NZ these days & a characteristic of Agenda 2030 (formerly Agenda 21). The method used in these meetings that as the person says are more like information sessions, are run using a special technique called the Delphi technique. The merely give the public the illusion of having been consulted. District Councils are using it also when they consult the public on their plans. They’re getting very gung ho in my opinion. Provide these scams of consultation then fire ahead and do what they planned to do all along. We’re seeing this time after time and opposing them is very difficult. Regarding iwi consultation/partnership, in the Horowhenua recently the local Council was seen via a leaked report, to have paid a local iwi a large sum of money to halt their objection to the council’s plan for partly treated sewage disposal on wahi tapu. A Crown tactic from time immemorial, find a complicit individual or group & by pass all the rest.
Here in the case of 1080 drops it appears not all iwi had been consulted. This matter was highlighted in June this year.

The Department of Conservation has postponed a controversial 1080 aerial drop in the Far North following outrage from iwi who say they weren’t consulted.
A small group of Whangaroa residents obtained information from DOC under the Official Information Act after hearing about its plan for an aerial drop on the 2400 hectare Whangaroa forest for winter-spring of this year to reduce pest numbers.
Spokesperson Asha Anderson said when she shared the document with the community some were shocked to see their names listed as being ‘fully supportive’ of the plan.
“In fact, the opposite was true and some had actually spoken out against 1080 at DOC’s hui,” Anderson said. “This is a serious breach of trust, and included misrepresentation of a local trust and Treaty partner.”

Note Kiwis, some time back I contacted two well known local farming enterprises, one that produced pork and the other chickens. I asked both if they fed their stock GMO feed. Both sidestepped a direct answer by telling me they couldn’t rule it out because the feed is not labelled. What is the bet it’s GMO stock feed? If it weren’t both of these companies would be clambering at the opportunity to prove their produce is top of the line. But no, just ‘we can’t rule out GMOs’. Sad. (NaturalNews) If you have stomach problems or gastrointestinal problems, a new study led by Dr. Judy Carman may help explain why: pigs fed a diet of genetically engineered soy and corn showed a 267% increase in severe stomach inflammation compared to those fed non-GMO diets. In males, the difference was even more pronounced: a 400% increase. (For the record, most autistic children are males, and nearly all of them have severe intestinal inflammation.)
The study was conducted on 168 young pigs on an authentic farm environment and was carried out over a 23-week period by eight researchers across Australia and the USA. The lead researcher, Dr. Judy Carman, is from the Institute of Health and Environmental Research in Kensington Park, Australia. The study has now been published in the Journal of Organic Systems, a peer-reviewed science journal.
The study is the first to show what appears to be a direct connection between the ingestion of GMO animal feed and measurable damage to the stomachs of those animals. Tests also showed abnormally high uterine weights of animals fed the GMO diets, raising further questions about the possibility of GMOs causing reproductive organ damage.
Proponents of corporate-dominated GMO plant science quickly attacked the study, announcing that in their own minds, there is no such thing as any evidence linking GMOs to biological harm in any animals whatsoever. And they are determined to continue to believe that, even if it means selectively ignoring the increasingly profound and undeniable tidal wave of scientific studies that repeatedly show GMOs to be linked with severe organ damage, cancer tumors and premature death.
“Adverse effects… toxic effects… clear evidence”
The study was jointly announced by GM Watch and Sustainable Pulse.
Lead author of the study Dr. Judy Carman stated, “We found these adverse effects when we fed the animals a mixture of crops containing three GM genes and the GM proteins that these genes produce. Yet no food regulator anywhere in the world requires a safety assessment for the possible toxic effects of mixtures. Our results provide clear evidence that regulators need to safety assess GM crops containing mixtures of GM genes, regardless of whether those genes occur in the one GM plant or in a mixture of GM plants eaten in the same meal, even if regulators have already assessed GM plants containing single GM genes in the mixture.”

The study adds to the weight of scientific evidence from others studies which show that rats fed a diet of GMOs grow horrifying cancer tumors and suffer premature death.
A scientific study published last year concluded that eating genetically modified corn (GM corn) and consuming trace levels of Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide was linked with rats developing shockingly large tumors, widespread organ damage, and premature death.
That study was also criticized by corporate GMO trolls who argued that scientists should not show pictures of rats with large cancer tumors caused by GMOs because the pictures scare consumers into being afraid of GMOs.

Why weren’t these studies done before GMOs were unleashed into the global food supply?
The GMO biotech industry was able to escape any meaningful regulation of GMOs in the United States by (ridiculously) claiming GMOs were substantially no different from non-genetically engineered crops. “They’re all the same!” we were told. And the USDA bought it.
So how did Monsanto patent its GM corn, then? You’re not supposed to be able to patent something unless it’s uniquely different. Thus, the very fact that Monsanto has acquired patents on its GMO crop varieties is proof that the company itself believes its seeds are different.
And what’s different about Monsanto’s GM corn? It produces a deadly insecticide grown right into every kernel. That insecticide, of course, is what kills insects that try to eat the crop. And how does it kill those insects? It fatally damages their digestive systems. That same insecticide stays inside the corn even as the crop is turned into animal feed… or corn chip snacks… or flaked corn breakfast cereal.

the great thing about rising numbers is that they get to a point where they can’t be ignored and it doesn’t matter how many unfounded accusations DoC make about loose wheel nuts, or slips of paper with threats to shoot helicopters down ( amazingly they have only ever been able to produce one of those ), or how many perfectly civilised meetings they run away from pretending they feel their safety is threatened ( as in Wanaka recently ). Back in 1994 Dr Meriel Watts wrote in her book The Poisoning of New Zealand*, of constant phone calls to the Soil & Health Assn by folk asking … “Is 1080 safe & do I have to let them drop it on my property?” The Association’s view at the time she said was ‘no’ and ‘no’. Soil & Health’s submission to the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment’s Possum Management review stated that “the current practice of distributing by air large amounts of 1080-laced carrot and pollard baits over large areas has lead to unacceptable risks to the environment, human health, dogs, farm stock, birds and other members of the ecosystem.” (p 186, 187).
That submission cited various incidents experienced by farmers.
“In one case a South Island farm lost 570 ewes when 1080 was dropped in his pastures as a result of the helicopter swinging too wide when dropping over bush patches. His sheep were still dying up to six months later; there were also a large number of abortions.” (Dr M Watts, p 187)
“In another case … a central North Island farmer came home to find 1080 spread all over her farm and around her house. There was a nice sign stating this fact, but no prior notification and no prior permission given. Fortunately her dogs were locked up.” (Dr M Watts, p 187)
We seldom of course hear of these incidents as they are not normally featured by mainstream media. It has been highlighted via the GrafBoys’ information that these stats are actually hidden in the paper work. Farmers, when claiming compensation, are required to list that compensation as for purposes other than poisoned stock losses.
