Why Councils are Felling Non-Native Trees
Since the tragic landslip at Mt Maunganui some folk have been blaming iwi for the tree felling and possible cause of the subsequent slip. Iwi however are simply partnering (as invited) with councils in implementing a UN biodiversity plan NZ signed up to in 2022. BlackRock Op: De-Carbonization Transition Therapy
New Zealand’s Government announced 8 August 2023, a deal with BlackRock, the world’s largest asset management firm, to find funds for the nation’s transition to a ‘net zero economy’. Prime Minister Chris Hipkins said a $2 billion climate infra-structure fund assists New Zealand’s transition to 100 percent renewable electricity.
The hype to reach the target of 100% renewable electricity generation by 2030, was presented like a telethon fundraising goal for de-carbonization transition therapy.
The estimated cost is $42 billion, with New Zealand energy companies pledging to stump up $26 billion, and BlackRock pledging $2 billion, in Kiwi dollars.
BlackRock, also pledged to find $16 billion in new investment, Newshub reported.

It’s in every community in the nation. We hear it talked about in county commission meetings and state legislatures. It’s even used in advertising as a positive practice for food processing and auto sales. It’s used as the model for building materials, power sources and transportation policy. It’s sold as the bold visionary plan for the future. The nation is being transformed under the banner of “Sustainable Development.”
We are assured by elected officials that Sustainable Development is simply a tool or a guideline to help direct the carefully-planned growth of our cities and rural areas while protecting our natural resources for future generations. “We must guard against a chaotic, unregulated growth in our cities,” say its earnest proponents as they sell the concept through familiar, non-threatening words and beautiful pictures.
Citizens are assured by their community leaders that all such plans are just local, local, local, created with the participation of the whole community. Sustainable Development policy, they say, is just an environmental land conservation policy, a sensible development policy. Sustainable…what’s wrong with that?
As usual, the answers are hidden in the details. Are we hearing the truth? What are the consequences of the policy that has taken over every level of government? Are there hidden dangers most just can’t see? Or, as its proponents claim, is opposition to Sustainable Development really just a silly, overblown conspiracy theory found in a twenty-year-old meaningless document called Agenda 21?
The UN’s Brundtland Commission on Global Governance described Sustainable Development as “Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the needs of the future.” It’s just common sense to assure we don’t overuse our resources, say proponents. If everyone will do their part, we can achieve total sustainability.

There is much info being broadcast on alternative media, and not being in the UK it is difficult to make comment on those issues. The point of the post was the denial of freedom of speech. Time will tell on the rest of the situation. If you are in the UK please send any info you may have or feel needs airing on this.
28/5/18 The death throes of democracy people. Folk are outraged as they should be, it’s a canary in the mine warning really. As I’ve been repeating for ages now, it is part of the global plan, global governance. It is not a friendly village that’s envisaged people. As they would have you to believe. Were it a friendly village then you would not have this fascist u turn where all justice is denied & dissenting voices are shut down. The end game in reality is total global lockdown. If you’ve hitherto scoffed at this as fairy material, go and read Mike Adams’ exposé if you haven’t already. (And/or read our Agenda 21/30 pages & line up all the other things that are happening as we speak). Or if you’ve already read this info & didn’t believe it, read it again. Little by little, as frogs in the warming pot, they’ve slipped in the lies under the guise of sustainability. But, is there really anything green going on? Better read that ‘alternative’ info fast because it’s not too long before it will all be gone from the internet as well.

Matata existing use rights cull one step closer after Bay of Plenty Regional Council decision – another Agenda 21/30 land grab?

Matata landowners have been left in limbo after a proposal to strip existing use rights over safety concerns was accepted by Bay of Plenty Regional Council.
The landmark decision will see 34 houses and sections lose the right to inhabit their property as part of a voluntary retreat. It is believed to be the first time the Resource Management Act has been used in this manner.
Whakatane District Council lobbied Bay of Plenty Regional Council to consider a plan change that will prohibit residential activity in the Awatarariki Fanhead at Matatā after March 2021. The plan change was suggested after $1.2 million was spent investigating how to mitigate safety concerns to residents unsuccessfully.
The plan change will prohibit all residential activity in the affected area.

Impacted residents say they will fight the plan change through legal means.
“We don’t want this to end up in court but when you back people into a corner they fight,” resident spokesman Rick Whalley said.
“That’s where we are now. We’re backed into the corner and we have to fight. They have taken away everything we have. We can’t sell. We can’t get loans. What other option do we have?”
Safety concerns began after a flood event in 2005 left houses destroyed after rubble barrelled down the swollen Awatarariki river.
WDC investigated mitigation options including the construction of a wire net to catch debris and protect the town.
In 2007 residents were given the all clear to return to their homes after the WDC deemed the wire-net solution the likely course of action.
However, WDC principal planner Shane McGhie said the decision to build the wire-net was reviewed in 2012.
“They said they have looked at it and it just wouldn’t work,” he said.
Home owners were given indicative offers for their properties from WDC staff with many residents turning up their noses at the proposed prices.
Marilyn Pearce lived in Matata during the 2005 floods and said if
they were told then it was unsafe to return they would have accepted it and moved on.
“If they told us then we couldn’t have gone back, we would have listened,” she said.
“They have set us up to fail.”
With the plan change accepted by BOPRC a hearing panel will be established to hear submissions at a future date.

‘Consultation’ & the little known Delphi technique – promoting the illusion of democracy & helping you think you’ve had a say
Here are three items introducing the Delphi Technique, used globally in those meetings where you’re consulted, yet you still feel railroaded and haven’t been heard at all. It’s not your imagination. This is a real eye opener. It’s how their agenda (Agenda 21/30) is carried out without your knowing. Hence all the public-excluded meetings these days when they discuss the real agenda with the chosen few. If you’re not on their page you’ll be excluded. And Councils use this technique it when ‘consulting’ you. On the public stuff, making you think you’ve had input. Do read these articles, they’re not too long. The definition of consultation for LG’s own magazine tells you the decision’s already been made, then your views are sought. Excerpt below… ‘5. Engagement vs Consultation’:

The Delphi Technique was originally conceived as a way to obtain the opinion of experts without necessarily bringing them together face to face. In Educating for the New World Order by Bev Eakman, the reader finds reference upon reference for the need to preserve the illusion that there is “Lay, or community, participation in the decisionmaking process), while in fact lay citizens are being squeezed out.”
A specialized use of this technique was developed for teachers, the “Alinsky Method” (ibid., p. 123). The setting or group is, however, immaterial the point is that people in groups tend to share a certain knowledge base and display certain identifiable characteristics (known as group dynamics). This allows for a special application of a basic technique. The “change agent” or “facilitator” goes through the motions of acting as an organizer, getting each person in the target group to elicit expression of their concerns about a program, project, or policy in question. The facilitator listens attentively, forms “task forces,” “urges everyone to make lists,” and so on. While she is doing this, the facilitator learns something about each member of the target group. He/she identifies the “leaders,” the “loud mouths,” as well as those who frequently turn sides during the argument the “weak or noncommittal.”
Suddenly, the amiable facilitator becomes “devil’s advocate.” He/she dons his professional agitator hat. Using the “divide and conquer” technique, he/she manipulates one group opinion against the other. This is accomplished by manipulating those who are out of step to appear “ridiculous, unknowledgeable, inarticulate, or dogmatic.” He/she wants certain members of the group to become angry, thereby forcing tensions to accelerate. The facilitator is well trained in psychological manipulation. S/He is able to predict the reactions of each group member. Individuals in opposition to the policy or program will be shut out of the group.
The method works. It is very effective with parents, teachers, school children, and any community group. The “targets” rarely, if ever, know that they are being manipulated. If they do suspect this is happening, they do not know how to end the process. The desired result is for group polarization, and for the facilitator to become accepted as a member of the group and group process. He/she will then throw the desired idea on the table and ask for opinions during discussion. Very soon his/her associates from the divided group begin to adopt the idea as if it were their own, and pressure the entire group to accept the proposition.

Let’s Stop Being Manipulated
More and more, we are seeing citizens being invited to “participate” in various forms of meetings, councils, or boards to “help determine” public policy in one field or another. They are supposedly being included to get ”input” from the public to help officials make final decisions on taxes, education, community growth or whatever the particular subject matter might be.
Sounds great, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, surface appearances are often deceiving.
You, Mr. or Mrs. Citizen, decide to take part in one of these meetings.
Generally, you will find that there is already someone designated to lead or “facilitate” the meeting. Supposedly, the job of the facilitator is to be a neutral, non-directing helper to see that the meeting flows smoothly.
Actually, he or she is there for exactly the opposite reason: to see that the conclusions reached during the meeting are in accord with a plan already decided upon by those who called the meeting.
The process used to “facilitate” the meeting is called the Delphi Technique. This Delphi Technique was developed by the RAND Corporation for the U.S. Department of Defense back in the 1950s. It was originally intended for use as a psychological weapon during the cold war.
However, it was soon recognized that the steps of Delphi could be very valuable in manipulating ANY meeting toward a predetermined end.
How does the process take place? The techniques are well developed and well defined.
First, the person who will be leading the meeting, the facilitator or Change Agent must be a likable person with whom those participating in the meeting can agree or sympathize.
It is, therefore, the job of the facilitator to find a way to cause a split in the audience, to establish one or a few of the people as “bad guys” while the facilitator is perceived as the “good guy.”
Facilitators are trained to recognize potential opponents and how to make such people appear aggressive, foolish, extremist, etc. Once this is done, the facilitator establishes himself or herself as the “friend” of the rest of the audience.
The stage is now set for the rest of the agenda to take place.
At this point, the audience is generally broken up into “discussion—or ‘breakout’—groups” of seven or eight people each. Each of these groups is to be led by a subordinate facilitator.
Within each group, discussion takes place of issues, already decided upon by the leadership of the meeting. Here, too, the facilitator manipulates the discussion in the desired direction, isolating and demeaning opposing viewpoints.

Labour is fixing the Nat-created housing crisis with Agenda 21/30 emergency units that look not unlike prison cells
As we know the Nats created a great hole in the State owned housing stock by selling off & land banking properties situated on prime real estate. Now Labour’s set to fix it with ‘affordable’ tiny housing. This is the global trend of course under the UN’s plan for sustainable development. (Sustainably developing developers’ bank accounts, nothing much else is being sustained … note worst pollution of waterways ever, councils are lip service only). With large swathes of the South Island just sold (rather gifted) off shore, governments/corporations have been full on privatising all our state assets with Public Private Partnerships that you all should examine a little more closely. Further food for thought is the current new law in Australia that stops you declining vaccination for you or your child (or face 10 years imprisonment) and the stopping of private citizens and asking for papers/ID in the US. This is the beginnings of a totalitarian Police State agenda. That is the fairly plain writing I am seeing on the wall.

Engineering consultant Jonathan Smith said the design of the small West Auckland units was unacceptable.
“The units are an eyesore and a design fail.”
The one-bedroom properties have already been criticised for looking like “prison cells”.
Single people would live in the prefabricated dwellings, for an average of three months, under the Government’s transitional housing programme.
Smith said the units were a “design and planning monstrosity”.

“Thousands of people each year make the pilgrimage along this narrow and dusty path, which twists through a bushy terrace overlooking a lake in the heart of New Zealand’s high country.
It is a landscape millions of years in the making, composed by the rise and fall of ancient glaciers, a place where colours converge; the lake’s deep shade of cerulean, the muted and sun-tinged tussocks of gentle hills, the colossal white peak of Mt Aspiring…
The land was ultimately privatised, without protection. About 18 months later, it was sold to a group of wealthy developers, among them Sky TV founder Craig Heatley, one of the country’s wealthiest men. They sought to subdivide the land for six houses, which did not come to fruition, in part due to vigorous opposition from local advocacy groups…

A feature in yesterday’s Domion Post Weekend lays bare the extent of the scandalous selloff of huge tracts of our high country.
Charlie Mitchell’s report details how the tenure review of the high country has been conducted since it began in 1992 when many leasehold farms became uneconomic and a process was established to review the leaseholds by privatising some of the land and bringing parts into the conservation estate. The process has been followed by both National and Labour governments.
Mitchell’s article reveals:
- The review covers over 2 million hectares of land, some 10 percent of the whole country, an area larger than the state of Israel
- Tenure reviews since 1998 show that the taxpayer has paid nearly $65 million to privatise land it owned which in some cases has been sold for huge capital gains
- The public has surrendered all rights to 430,000ha of the high country’s most productive land, parts of which have become luxury retreats, gated developments, tourism ventures, intensively farmed land or billionaire’s playgrounds
- Around 14 percent of the privatised land has some form of covenant.
- Much of the process has been secretive and not open to public scrutiny
- Much of land was originally bought from Maori through a series of “meagre” payments for which
- Maori were promised reserves and access to resources – promises that were broken by the Crown

- Alpha Burn Station a few minutes from Wanaka and with 5.5km of Lake Wanaka shoreline, saw 190ha of prime property privatised without public protection for a net $50,000. It was resold almost immediately to rich lister Craig Heatley for $10.6 million, who after failing to win a subdivision battle, resold it to US billionaire, libertarian, and Trump adviser, Peter Theil, for $13.5 million. The capital gain computes at 37,000 percent, none of which is taxable
- The taxpayer paid $5000 to privatise Glendhu Station. Now in three parts, one part has been sold with a partly finished golf course on it, for $16.7 million; another part is valued at $8.5 million and a third at $3.4 million.
- One family owned Alpha Burn and Glendhu Stations, collectively paying $45,000 for 6000ha of Wanaka lakefront that today is valued at $45million.
- An analysis by an author on the subject, Ann Bower, published in 2015 found the median capital gain of sales after tenure reviews was 69,200 percent
- Across all tenure reviews since 1998, land valued at $320 million was bought by farmers for $143m, while land valued at $78m was purchased by the Crown for $208m
- A furore over the sale of Richmond Station on the shore of Lake Tekapo caused the Clark Labour government to suspend the reviews, but the Key National government restarted the process in 2009, with then Conservation Minister Kate Wilkinson saying the Crown didn’t need more conservation land
- As recently as May, the leaseholders of Airies Station in Burkes Pass purchased the whole station freehold for $2.8 million, and the Crown paid out the same amount to cancel the payment. A quarter of the land was covenanted but no public access was granted.

Awareness of Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development is racing across the nation as citizens in community after community are learning what their city planners are actually up to. As awareness grows, I am receiving more and more calls for tools to help activists fight back. Many complain that elected officials just won’t read detailed reports or watch long videos. “Can you give us something that is quick, and easy to read that we can hand out,” I’m asked.
So here it is. A one page, quick description of Agenda 21 that fits on one page. I’ve also included for the back side of your hand out a list of quotes for the perpetrators of Agenda 21 that should back up my brief descriptions.
A word of caution, use this as a starter kit, but do not allow it to be your only knowledge of this very complex subject. To kill it you have to know the facts. Research, know your details; discover the NGO players in your community; identify who is victimized by the policies and recruit them to your fight; and then kill Agenda 21. That’s how it must be done. The information below is only your first step. Happy hunting.
What is Sustainable Development?
According to its authors, the objective of sustainable development is to integrate economic, social and environmental policies in order to achieve reduced consumption, social equity, and the preservation and restoration of biodiversity. Sustainablists insist that every societal decision be based on environmental impact, focusing on three components; global land use, global education, and global population control and reduction.
Social Equity (Social injustice)
Social justice is described as the right and opportunity of all people “to benefit equally from the resources afforded us by society and the environment.” Redistribution of wealth. Private property is a social injustice since not everyone can build wealth from it. National sovereignty is a social injustice. Universal health care is a social injustice. All part of Agenda 21 policy.
Economic Prosperity
Public Private Partnerships (PPP). Special dealings between government and certain, chosen corporations which get tax breaks, grants and the government’s power of
Eminent Domain to implement sustainable policy. Government-sanctioned monopolies.
Local Sustainable Development policies
Smart Growth, Wildlands Project, Resilient Cities, Regional Visioning Projects, STAR Sustainable Communities, Green jobs, Green Building Codes, “Going Green,” Alternative Energy, Local Visioning, facilitators, regional planning, historic preservation, conservation easements, development rights, sustainable farming, comprehensive planning, growth management, consensus.
Who is behind it?
ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability (formally, International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives). Communities pay ICLEI dues to provide “local” community plans, software, training, etc. Addition groups include American Planning Council, The Renaissance Planning Group, International City/ County Management Group, aided by US Mayors Conference, National Governors Association, National League of Cities, National Association of County Administrators and many more private organizations and official government agencies. Foundation and government grants drive the process.
Where did it originate?
The term Sustainable Development was first introduced to the world in the pages a 1987 report (Our Common Future) produced by the United Nations World Commission on Environmental and Development, authored by Gro Harlem Brundtland, VP of the World Socialist Party. The term was first offered as official UN policy in 1992, in a document called UN Sustainable Development Agenda 21, issued at the UN’s Earth Summit, today referred to simply as Agenda 21.
What gives Agenda 21 Ruling Authority?
More than 178 nations adopted Agenda 21 as official policy during a signing ceremony at the Earth Summit. US president George H.W. Bush signed the document for the US. In signing, each nation pledge to adopt the goals of Agenda 21. In 1995, President Bill Clinton, in compliance with Agenda 21, signed Executive Order #12858 to create the President’s Council on Sustainable Development in order to “harmonize” US environmental policy with UN directives as outlined in Agenda 21. The EO directed all agencies of the Federal Government to work with state and local community governments in a joint effort “reinvent” government using the guidelines outlined in Agenda 21. As a result, with the assistance of groups like ICLEI, Sustainable Development is now emerging as government policy in every town, county and state in the nation.

The ‘benefits of closer living for Kiwi homebuyers’, a growing trend that has its origins in UN Agenda 21/30
This is Agenda 21/30. To the casual eye it is nothing more than downsizing and practicality, and yes, in some cases that may be what’s wanted. Fair enough. I’m not saying every move toward tiny housing or closer living is this agenda. But in the overall larger picture, it is becoming a growing trend as this UN agenda kicks in. You owe it to yourself to read up on it. The big picture is that we will all be in the cities (google ‘smart cities’) in high rise and/or stack and pack housing. That is the plan. The Nats have sold off thousands of our state homes with large sections (prime real estate) under somewhat dodgy arrangements (follow Penny Bright’s work on Facebook) then plead ‘there’s no homelessness’ in the land of the free. Now we have the perfect ‘solution’ … tiny houses. In the city of course. Small towns were given the death knell decades ago via decisions at the beehive, not by the people. People who wanted to eat and have a house to live in had to move to where jobs were. The human settlement zones for Agenda 2030 are already there on the US maps in plain sight. The wild conservation zones will not be for us. It isn’t pretty. And of course some will think that this is wild conspiracy & I’d possibly agree if I hadn’t seen the UN plan or listened to those who have stumbled across this in the course of their work (see Rosa Koire’s work at our Agenda 21/30 pages). Another good listen on topic is the late Joan Veon. She doesn’t refer to this as Agenda 21 but she is talking of the same changes, particularly the privatisation of all your public assets. This is why they are all disappearing fast, via public private partnerships. Pensioner flats are going, council land also. You will find more of Joan’s videos on Youtube. She worked with the UN for a number of years and joined some dots with what was happening during the 1990s, the period during which Agenda 21 first appeared. Erica and Stuart Wills should have been living the Kiwi dream. From the expansive deck of their renovated bungalow, they looked out over a 2.5 acre paradise in Kumeu, West Auckland. Chickens and sheep roamed as their young son hurtled around on his mini motorbike.
“It all looked beautiful,” Erica told Newshub. “But we’re sitting there exhausted because we’ve spent all day getting it to look like that. Roundup was our best friend.”
It was clear they needed to downsize – but no one expected them to do it so dramatically. Today, their brand new home is attached to their neighbours’, their backyard has shrunk to 180 square metres, and their view is a line of cookie cutter houses in progressive Hobsonville Point. Erica worried her farm-raised husband would feel claustrophobic. “I thought ‘oh my god he’s going to hate this’,” she said. “But he surprised me.”
The new government wants to see more Kiwis living this way. More compact housing is an obvious solution to Auckland’s housing shortfall, but it also plans to duplicate the model of quality and quantity in Hamilton, Tauranga and Queenstown, particularly targeting first-time buyers.

Horowhenua District Council is preparing to possibly sell off large amounts of council property or shift it into an independent trust.
A proposed work programme has a project to be developed before July to sell property or transfer it to a yet-to-be-established economic development trust. The trust would be independent of HDC.
The work programme comes as part of an HDC report released last week that proposes establishing the trust. The trust’s creation is likely to be ratified by HDC next week
According to the report, from HDC’s economic development manager Shanon Grainger, HDC should only hold property required to deliver core services.
That report follows another from Mr Grainger in July saying HDC owned 40 percent too much property and should look to sell.
Excess property would fund the trust, HDC has said. It saw the trust as a move to boost the district’s economic performance.
The trust would look at setting up public private partnerships using private money and HDC assets transferred into the trust.
Last week’s report said the trust would invest mostly in areas where the market had not. It gave a truck park facility as an example.
