#health Study: Opossums are Our Best Defense Against Lyme Disease, Killing 5000 Ticks Per Week Each

Now that’s interesting as NZ aims to exterminate every single possum here. As folk are pointing out nevertheless US & Aus/NZ possums are different creatures. I have no idea if our possies eat ticks but it would be good to know. Here’s an article anyway about the difference between the two.

  1. they are pretty good at biting the heads off of chickens too. we have them in our woods. we don’t bother them if they don’t bother us but when i have one break into my chicken house they remove all rights to remain healthy. The other nice thing about them is they are immune to rabies. they can’t catch it. they are good for lots of things in the nature. no need to kill them unless absolutely necessary.
