Chemical fertilizers were used in Germany since WWI. Rudolf Steiner understood the side-effects of fertilizers include big beautiful vegetables nutritionally vapid. He also perceived fertilizer damage to the soil. Steiner’s lectures on the topic lead to Biodynamics. Cheers, ZD
