Breastmilk: The gift that keeps on giving… Babies who were exclusively breastfed have less than half the risk of eczema as teenagers than those that were not
(Natural News) Adding to the wealth of evidence that prove the benefits of beast milk, a new study finds that breastfeeding could lower the risk of eczema in children by half, as reported by the Science Daily.
A team of researchers from King’s College London, Harvard University, University of Bristol, and McGill University assessed whether prolonged and exclusive breastfeeding lowered the risk of asthma, atopic eczema, and low lung function in adolescence. In the study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Pediatrics, they analyzed data from a total of 13,557 teenagers aged 16 from Belarus, all of whom were enrolled in the Promotion of Breastfeeding Intervention Trial (PROBIT). The PROBIT study initially recruited 17,046 mothers and their newborn babies from June 1996 to December 1997.
The researchers studied 31 maternity hospitals and one outpatient clinic associated to each hospital. These participating institutions were randomly assigned to either take part in a breastfeeding program or not. Breastfeeding programs trained nurses, midwives, and doctors to promote and support mothers to breastfeed their babies. The researchers then followed up with the babies until they reached adolescence to determine the effect of supported breastfeeding to their lung function, asthma, and eczema. The participants were tasked to answer surveys on the three health issues. In addition, the researchers conducted a skin examination for eczema, and a breath examination for lung health.
“PROBIT, the largest randomized trial ever carried out in the area of human lactation, continues to yield scientifically and clinically important information more than two decades after its inception,” said Michael Kramer of McGill’s Faculty of Medicine and the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC), the lead investigator on the PROBIT study.
The findings of the study revealed that children whose mothers received support to breastfeed exclusively for a sustained time from birth had a 54 percent lower risk of eczema at the age of 16. However, there was no association between breastfeeding and the risk of asthma. Eczema is a skin condition that causes the skin to be itchy, dry, cracked, sore, and red. About one in every five children and one in 10 adults suffer from eczema.

Wars keep on killing: Gulf War illness causes DNA damage in vets, according to new research
(Natural News) Gulf War Illness (GWI), or Gulf War Syndrome, is the name given to a cluster of chronic symptoms affecting Gulf War veterans and civilian workers. The cause behind these symptoms — which range from fatigue to joint pains to memory problems — has been studied and debated on for the longest time. Yet scientists from Rutgers Medical School and the Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System may have found an another potential answer, and lingering effect of this conflict; one that lies in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA).
According to lead researcher Michael J. Falvo, the idea for looking into the mitochondria came shortly after he joined the Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System. There, he learned that numerous Gulf War veterans had unexplained symptoms throughout many areas of their bodies. “To me, that sounded awfully consistent with the symptoms of mitochondrial disorders. After reviewing the literature, I realized at that time there was no published study on GWI that investigated whether mitochondrial dysfunction contributed to symptoms,” explained Falvo.
As part of their study, Falvo and his colleagues recruited 28 participants: 21 veterans who had GWI, and three veterans without GWI, and four non-veterans who served as the control group. Blood samples were collected from each participant, which were then analyzed using a revolutionary technique that allowed the researchers to study the mtDNA without having to isolate it from total DNA.
They discovered that the veterans with GWI had more mtDNA and a greater number of lesions, implicating an overabundance of DNA damage. As stated on ScienceDaily.com, the lesions were direct measures of DNA damage, while the extra copies of mtDNA were reflections of the body’s response to the damage.

Traditional cancer treatments cause inflammation, promoting aggressive tumor growth, according to study
(Natural News) Independent media leaders like Mike Adams, the Health Ranger and editor of Natural News, have long been vilified by the mainstream media for daring to insist that chemotherapy actually causes cancer. Time and again, Natural News has published articles based on scientific studies that prove the inefficiency and downright danger of conventional cancer treatments. Now, yet another study has been published confirming that link.
The study, conducted by a research team from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), and published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine, found that the dead and dying cancer cells created by chemotherapy trigger inflammation which in turn promotes “aggressive tumor growth.”
“In this study we demonstrate that chemotherapy-generated debris from dead and dying tumor cells can stimulate tumor growth, which has pivotal implications for the treatment of cancer patients,” said Dipak Panigrahy, MD, the study’s lead author and an assistant professor at BIDMC’s Department of Pathology. “Conventional cancer therapy designed to kill tumor cells is inherently a double-edged sword.” [Emphasis added]
News Wise notes that this research reinforces what the medical community has known since at least the 1950s, but it is the first study to try to determine the exact molecular mechanisms that cause this phenomenon.
Researchers have long understood that there is a distinct link between inflammation and cancer. A study published in the journal Nature in 2010, for example, noted:

On February 22, 2011, a M6.3 earthquake destroyed Christchurch, New Zealand (185 dead). VKS space intelligence blamed Project Wormwood at the joint Australian-U.S. Planetary Defense Base at Learmonth Solar Observatory on the North West Cape of Western Australia. Given that HAARP earthquake creation seems to follow a pump and dump pattern—a pumping action of, say, M4.5, which is then steered to the target some time later for a larger thrust—the Christchurch quake was on point: on February 21, the Northern Territory experienced a M4.7, then a full day later, the M6.3 hit.
If Christchurch was a target error for Tasman Glacier in the Southern Alps region 120 miles away, then how are we to read the fact that a visiting American Congressional delegation just happened to be in Christchurch only to fly out 2-1/2 hours before the M6.3 hit, conveniently leaving behind FEMA deputy administrator Timothy W. Manning to coordinate the American response to the disaster they knew was coming? (General P.K. Keen, deputy commander of the U.S. Southern Command, had been similarly pre-positioned in Haiti for the 2010 devastation. ) Four hundred physicians just happened to be attending a urology conference at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Christchurch; they said they “felt like a wrecking ball was being smashed into the side of the building” as water poured up from the shaking ground. And the 116 soldiers from the Singapore Army who just happened to be in Christchurch for a training exercise and were therefore available to cordon off the city after the quake? Coincidence? Was opening up a new fault line the objective of the earthquake? In Chapter 4, we looked at connections between Big Oil, fault lines, and hydrocarbons as per the Gulf of Mexico and New Madrid Seismic Zone. Is something similar going on off the coast of New Zealand? Geo-terrorism researcher Jeff Phillips thinks so. In fact, he feels that Anadarko Petroleum Corporation is HAARP’s primary beneficiary. The company’s portfolio of assets encompasses premier positions in the Rocky Mountains region, the southern United States and the Appalachian Basin. The company also is a premier deepwater producer in the Gulf of Mexico, and has production in Alaska, Algeria and Ghana with additional exploration opportunities in West Africa, Mozambique, Kenya, South Africa, Colombia, Guyana, New Zealand and China.
Anadarko’s board of directors is interesting: CEO James Hackett, a director of Halliburton, member of Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg; Luke Corbett, director of Kerr-McGee (owned by Anadarko); Peter Geren, former Secretary of both Army and Air Force; Paula Reynolds, director of BAE Systems Advanced Technologies that built HAARP’s phase 2 upgrade (completed in 2006) and owns the patent (US 7218571) for a magnetically driven underwater pulse generator; and General Kevin Chilton, former NASA astronaut and head of U.S. Space Command after his command at STRATCOM.
Most convincing, however, is that Anadarko’s man, U.S. Representative Kevin Brady (R-TX), was in New Zealand Prime Minister John Key’s office when the Christchurch quake occurred; four hours later, Anadarko had its permit for offshore exploration, for which it will use its ultra-deepwater drillship.
Whereas Italy sentenced six seismologists and a FEMA-like official to six years in prison for manslaughter after reassuring the public that the M6.3 earthquake that struck L’Aquila on 6 April 2009 would not happen, in Christchurch, the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act (CERA) was passed and the Minister for Earthquake Recovery issued a Notice of Intention to Take Land:
. . . negotiations for voluntary acquisition may run until the end of December [2011]. If agreement has not been reached by then, CERA’s Christchurch Central Development Unit (CCDU) intends to take the land under compulsory acquisition [for public works].
Claims for compensation are always possible but uncertain at best. Headlines like “Poverty ‘rampant’ in quake-hit Christchurch” are to be expected, while corporations like Anadarko reap fortunes from the devastation.
Project Seal, a joint U.S.-New Zealand test carried out around New Caledonia and Auckland during World War Two, may have been looking for new fault lines: 3,700 bombs were exploded in New Caledonia and later at Whangaparaoa Peninsula near Auckland, which created a 33-foot tsunami capable of inundating a small city. This segues to three major 2011-2012 quakes and one tsunami in Japan that inundated the entire planet with radiation.

Could DoC’s recent poisoning of the Coromandel have anything to do with Whangamatā’s bee die off this week?
If you check this map* of DoC’s recent pest treatment of the Coromandel that included 1080 drops, the Otahu block which was part of that, is right below Whangamatā. Whangamatā has this past week been stricken with 1000s of dying bees … washed ashore at Whangamatā’s popular beach, currently also inundated with holiday makers.

NZ Herald reports 75 bee stings over the week from the dying insects. The problem began according to Radio NZ on Monday of last week (Christmas Day). Mainstream media has chosen to report it four days later on December 29th, the Friday before New Year when it will likely fly under the radar as folk head off for the long weekend. A time worn tactic with mainstream. NZ Herald reported it on the 30th (Saturday) but only as one paragraph within an article about the large beach crowd, not considered important enough to have a headline of its own. Die offs are becoming almost ho hum these days it seems. Pipi, toheroa, eels, blue bottles more recently and if you google bees this isn’t the first. I saw one item from 2014. There were more. By and large the phenomenon it appears is being downplayed.
It is unclear from DoC’s website maps and info whether 1080 was actually dropped on that block, but it is clear that it was treated with something. Whangamatā is situated on an estuary, also the subject of controversy with conservation concerns regarding a marina built there. As the map indicates waterways (particularly note the Otahu River) flow out of the poisoned zone to the sea. We are not told exactly where the bees were found, or on which beach. There are actually two there and both are safe for swimming.
Amendment 1 Jan 2018: All three pest treatments were aerial 1080 drops.
What I found interesting researching this, was the lack of ease of locating on Doc’s site the relevant information about the poisoned areas. I note that the map indicates 1080 was applied to the Papakai block in the Coromandel, still the other two areas (marked in red) do not indicate the poison used at all. It was only when I went to the Battle for our Birds page that I could find dates (Oct/Nov 2017) yet there was still no clear indication of what was dropped. The Hunting page gave a little more information as in where to go to find out the drop areas but one would have thought the Walking and Tramping page would contain this important information given tourists like to walk the scenic routes. There is nothing there, the site in my opinion is not tourist friendly at all.
So there has been a die off of thousands of bees. This is so tragic, given also we have only just had recent concerns raised by bee keepers about the effects of 1080 on the bee population, particularly in the Coromandel, with bees returning it to the hives.

Will we find out if it was 1080 (or any other poison)? I very much doubt it given the disinclination the authorities charged with protecting our wildlife have to reporting anything bad about this ‘wonderful’ insecticide that kills all oxygen breathing animals and organisms … banned by most countries and manufactured by your government here in Kiwiland. Neither is it likely we’ll be told if it is any of the other poisons our authorities spread liberally around our environment. Our Kiwi government has a love affair with poisons and seems to be comfortably in bed with the poison industry possibly explaining the ongoing opposition we are seeing to anybody who questions the wisdom of it. Sue Kedgely summed it up quite nicely in 2012:
I am wondering how long it will be before we stop using pesticides that are poisonous to bees. I am not optimistic that it will be quickly, given our record. We were, after all, one of the last countries in the world to ban 245T. And the response of successive governments to calls to stop using lethal pesticides has been to dither and procrastinate in the face of mounting evidence, and accept industry blandishments that they are safe…. Let’s hope this is investigated by Whangamatā’s regional authorities. We will only be guessing unless the insects are tested and more information is given. Why do thousands of bees suddenly die off like that? We’ve been hearing for years that once the bees go (die) we humans have only a few years left. Ah but you can rest safe because the clever people running the show are busy cobbling together their new GM varieties which of course are going to save the planet.

Whangamatā inundated with dying bees
One of the country’s busiest beaches has been inundated with dying bees, creating a hazard for holidaymakers.
Surf Lifesavers at Whangamatā have gone as far as issuing a warning to beachgoers to watch out for the insects.
Deputy Head Guard Max Jones said they had dealt with dozens of first aid requests for bee stings as thousands of the insects began washing up on the beach this week.
He first noticed them washing in with the tide on Monday and said it got worse as the week progressed.
He said that by Wednesday there were thousands of bees all along the high tide mark and they had to help about 20 children who had been stung.
Mr Jones said he had never seen anything like it, and while they were trying to alert people to the problem it was difficult with so many people on the beach.
He said the bees were mainly at the high-tide line, and while the numbers appeared to have decreased people still needed to be vigilant.
