Tens of thousands of people turn out to protest against the TPPA

With failed talks in Hawaii recently with regards to the free trade agreement, Kiwis turned out en masse today in many parts of the country to protest the whole deal that has thus far been carried out in secret. Ostensibly a free trade deal, it is a doorway that will give corporations open slather to sue us if we threaten their profit making margins … something they are already doing in other countries. Educate yourself on this issue … it is important. Here are links to various news reports throughout the country.

Tens of thousands turned out today in NZ to protest the TPPA

“The thing about this crowd is there’s children, there’s babies, there’s Maori there’s people from India, there’s trade unionists, there’s health professional, politicians, there’s professors, singers. It’s amazing. All of New Zealand is represented here. There’s no group you could say didn’t turn up today.”  NZ Herald

“Documentary filmmaker Bryan Bruce sent a clear message to Tim Groser and the National Party today on the grounds of Parliament: ‘If they sign this deal they will be gone in the next election. We will not forget and we will not forgive them… ‘ ”   SOURCE

Further south in Christchurch thousands of people turned out in the wet at Hagley Park to march up Riccarton Road, medical students, teachers and marketing executives among the crowd.
In Otago a large group of protesters marched through Dunedin’s CBD.
Protests today end an action week by those opposed to the proposed deal.
Rallies were also planned in Wellington, Kataia, Hokianga, Whangarei, Hamilton, Colville, Tauranga, Whakatane, Napier, New Plymouth, Featherston, Nelson, Timaru, Little River and Invercargill.
In Nelson, some of the protesters formed a choir to sing their message…”

Medical Doctor concludes cancer patients live longer without chemotherapy

This is an eye opening article on chemo and cancer from NaturalNews. They say with no treatment at all, and without chemotherapy, patients live longer than with chemotherapy. In The Truth About Cancer’s series of interviews with Medical Doctors and Oncologists (at their website) they also confirm this. (You will also find some of the videos on Youtube).

Here is the NaturalNews article:

syringe-435809_1280“Dr. Hardin B. Jones, a former professor of medical physics and physiology at the University of California, Berkeley, had been studying the lifespans of cancer patients for more than 25 years when he came to the conclusion that, despite popular belief, chemotherapy doesn’t work. He witnessed a multitude of cancer patients treated with the poison die horrific deaths, many of them meeting their fate much earlier than other patients who chose no treatment at all.

After investigating this further, Dr. Jones found that cancer patients who underwent chemotherapy actually died more quickly, in most cases, than those who followed their doctors’ recommendations by getting the treatment…”

Retail outlets across Europe are taking glyphosate off their shelves

From the UK’s Guardian, more news on Roundup and glyphosate. Bear in mind glyphosate is in many other products as I recently confirmed. Most of the home garden sprays in our local supermarket, popular brands too, contained glyphosate. So important to read labels and fine print.

Copy of Copy of Dec 2014 041The Guardian …. “Monsanto is far from happy. The main ingredient of its highly profitable weedkiller, Roundup, often used in conjunction with GM crops, has been declared a “probable carcinogenic”.

As well as being profitable for Monsanto, glyphosate is one of the most widely adopted weedkillers in the world by gardeners and farmers alike. Use of it by UK farmers, for example, has soared by 400% in the last 20 years.

In response to the cancer warning, the US biotech company has been quick to accuse the body behind the new classification of bias. It says the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), an arm of the World Health Organisation (WHO), lacks transparency and has made an irresponsible decision – one likely to cause confusion among farmers and the wider public…

Although campaigners in the UK have tried to focus attention on possible risks to human health from glyphosate residues found in bread, toxicologists suggest gardeners and farm workers are the ones most at risk.

“It is difficult to work out the magnitude of cancer risks of glyphosate, but based on the quantities people come into contact with, it can be expected that agricultural workers applying the pesticide are at much greater risk than consumers in Britain, who are exposed via residues in food…..

For those worried about their health, one organisation now allows you to pay $120 (£75) to have your urine, breast milk or tap water tested for glyphosate contamination. Far from scaremonging, toxicologist Dr Robin Mesnage from Kings College London says such testing could help…”

Council to discuss upgrade of waste water treatment plant

This is from the Wanganui Chronicle and updates us on where RDC is up to with their plans to solve the significantly long standing status of non-compliance with regard to the leachate pollution of the Tutaenui Stream. (To read the full history of this and the non compliance reports see former Martonian Hamish Allan’s submission to the consent hearings earlier this year. There should be an in stream biota survey every three years and it appears there have only been two). More on this later.

Recently a local resident who lives on the truck route informed me he sees 12 round trips per day of the leachate tanker. This is a significantly larger volume than the number that has been cited to the public.

An upgrade is good news will not be before its time.

Here is the Chronicle article:

“A multi-million-dollar, three-year upgrade of the Marton wastewater treatment plant has been proposed.

Rangitikei district councillors will this morning discuss changes aimed at making the plant compliant with its resource consent.

The MWTP has been non-compliant for at least a decade, partly due to its acceptance of leachate (run-off) from the nearby Bonny Glen landfill. The latest compliance report found the plant’s discharge into the Tutaenui Stream “significantly non-compliant”. At times, ammoniacal nitrogen levels have been 35 times the recommended limit and deemed to adversely affect aquatic life…”

France requires all new buildings to have green roofs or solar panels

eiffel-tower-803488_1280This is excellent news. The article is from inhabitat.com via the Guardian

“France just passed a trailblazing new law that requires that all new buildings constructed in commercial areas to be partially-covered by either solar panels or green roofs. Not only will this bring dramatic changes to the nation’s skylines and bolster the efficiency of all new commercial construction, but the law will help France pick up the pace the solar adoption—which has lagged behind other European nations in recent years…”

Episode 68: Starting Small | Jackie Beyer’s New Gardener Success Tips

Here’s an excellent resource if you’re wanting to start a garden. Keeping it simple too : )

Jackie Marie Beyer's avatarMike's Green Garden

Episode 68: Starting Small | Jackie Beyer’s New Gardener Success Tips

Here’s some tips I’ve learned over the years that I would like to offer to someone starting a garden from scratch.

If i started a garden from scratch this is what I would do.

Build some raised beds in a sunny spot outside my kitchen.
I would build a compost bin as well.
I wld make my raised beds just high enough to sit on the edge comfortably
My favorites are made out of 8″x6″ beams i think.
I would then fill the beds with the best dirt i could get my hands on.
Compost if i had it – made of grass clippings, lots of coffee grounds, eggshells, leftover fruit and produce, etc
Maybe some manure from chickens or sheep etc
Possibly some straw or leaves
I would build a trellis for the peas to climb
The seeds i…

The TPPA and smart meters (update)

The TPPA threatens to erode national sovereignty that is necessary for maintaining (or creating) laws that protect human health and the environments.  A national week of action against the TPPA is planned for August 8-15, with major event on August 15;  please see this link for details.

Steps you can take to avoid getting a smart meter

I have written a new post that outlines the steps that people can take to prevent unwanted smart meter installations; please share this widely:

www.stopsmartmeters.org.nz/latest-news/your-options-if-your-electricity-retailer-sends-you-a-notice-to-say-it-plans-to-install-a-smart-meter/

Another New Zealander who became ill after a smart meter installation has kindly shared her story; you may read it below:

http://www.stopsmartmeters.org.nz/latest-news/another-new-zealander-shares-her-experience-with-a-smart-meter/

This is some background to why people who are electrosensitive are involved in community efforts to educate others about smart meters’ effects.

http://www.stopsmartmeters.org.nz/latest-news/otago-daily-times-headline-my-advice-is-to-say-no-to-smart-meters/

An electricity company employee recently claimed that there were “no emissions” from smart meters.  This was my reply:

http://www.stopsmartmeters.org.nz/latest-news/otago-daily-times-reports-no-emissions-from-smart-meters-according-to-electricity-company-representative/

The same electricity company employee then insisted that smart meters have benefits for consumers.  You can read his assertions and my reply below:

http://www.stopsmartmeters.org.nz/government-and-electricity-industry-positions/electricity-company-employee-insists-smart-meters-have-benefits-for-consumers/

In a related post, I respond to a claim by the same electricity company employee that smart meters do not post risks to health, privacy or finances.

Are “smart” gas ideas a good idea?

I don’t think they are, personally. (A major NZ company in the smart meter industry seems to think they are a good thing however…and they are also being installed in Australia.)

Read on to learn the steps that one Australian has taken to ensure his existing (non-“smart”) gas meter cannot be replaced without his permission.

Smart meter possibly affected by electrical storm…

Do you know of any cases in which a smart meter has become inaccurate after an electrical storm?
http://www.stopsmartmeters.org.nz/latest-news/smart-meter-adversely-affected-by-electrical-storm/

Plan to turn smart meters into super computer:

http://www.stopsmartmeters.org.nz/latest-news/company-proposes-to-turn-smart-meters-into-super-computer

3) Request for feedback

Have you (or friends or family) had any peculiar experiences with a smart meter such as interference with electrical equipment?

Or recorded electricity use anomalies?

Or higher bills with no change in electricity use habits?

Or have you (or a friend) had a fire at your home or business that you think may have been caused by a smart meter?

If so, you can report such events to www.stopsmartmeters.org.nz via the Contact Form.  (Reports are kept confidential; information is posted on the site only if permission is given for this to be done.)

That’s all for this update.

Thank you to everyone who has emailed to share information and is helping with the campaign by sharing information on Facebook, organising public meetings and screenings of Take Back Your Power and many other initiatives.  Your efforts are very much appreciated – and they are making a positive difference.

Wishing you the best of health,

Katherine Smith

The corporate crime of the century!

51Ue+bjxMJL._SX318_BO1,204,203,200_A couple of years ago I came across a book in a garage sale called ‘Circle of Poison’.  Published in 1981 it documents a trail of intriguing scandal regarding the export of banned pesticides from industrial countries to the third world. Products banned in the US saw the sellers simply exporting the separate ingredients to be assembled offshore for sale to unsuspecting customers oblivious to the products’ banned status. Many of these products were then duly sprayed on produce that would be returned to the country of the original banning. ‘Banning problem solved’ as it were.  One of the authors David Weir describes how he came upon this scheme.  Following a ban in the US of cyclamates, he discovered the ingredient in a packet of Kool-Aid he purchased whilst in Afghanistan. This began his trail of inquiries back in the 1970s  which eventually led to an article in the US magazine, Mother Jones in 1979 entitled ‘The Corporate Crime of the Century’ and eventually to the book Circle of Poison. It imageswas found that not only were toxic ingredients being exported, but defective medical devices, lethal drugs, known carcinogens, contaminated foods and other products deemed unsafe for American consumption as well. The results of this dumping are horrific.

  • “400 Iraqis died in 1972 and 5,000 were hospitalized after consuming the by-products of 8,000 tons of wheat and barley coated with an organic mercury fungicide, whose use had been banned in the U.S.
  • No one knows how many children may develop cancer since several million children’s garments treated with a carcinogenic fire retardant called Tris were shipped overseas after being forced off the domestic market by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)”. (from Mother Jones … more examples in the article)

Lomotil, an effective prescription-only anti-diarrhea medicine sold in the U.S., fatal in amounts just slightly over the recommended doses, was sold over the counter in Sudan, advertised as a product that was used by astronauts during the Gemini and Apollo space flights and also recommended for use by children as young as 12 months. Another item was Depo Provera, a birth control injection. This was banned in the United States because it caused malignant tumors in beagles and monkeys, yet is sold by the Upjohn Co. in 70 other countries, where it is widely used in U.S.-sponsored population control programs. It is currently also prescribed by GPs in New Zealand. Watch for an article on this product. I intend to research it soon. And the dumping of unwanted stuff is still going on by all appearances. More on that in another post. It does illustrate perfectly the utter disregard corporations hold for the health of the public. Again their bottom line is profits.

Here is the Mother Jones Article:

The Corporate Crime of the Century

It’s called dumping: When the U.S. government forces a dangerous drug, pesticide or other product off the domestic market, the manufacturer then sells that same product—frequently with the direct support of the State Department—throughout the rest of the world.

Tom Mboya was the hope of the western world. Bright, energetic, popular and inclined to be democratic—he was a born leader who, Washington hoped, would rise to power in Kenya and help keep Africa safe for United States commerce. In 1969 he was shot down in the streets of Nairobi. An emergency rescue squad was by his side in minutes. They plugged him into the latest gadget in resuscitative technology—a brand new U.S. export called the Res-Q-Aire. What the rescue team didn’t know as they watched Tom Mboya’s life slip away was that this marvelous device had been recalled from the American market by the US government because it was found to be totally ineffective. The patient died….Read More Here

The biggest Bank heist ever!

(For video description scroll to bottom of page)

Here is some enlightening weekend viewing. Learn why our respective nations have undergone such radical changes in recent decades. The oldies among us will tell you this. Things are not as they were.

New Zealand has changed dramatically since the late ’80s when the new neo liberal economic policies called Rogernomics set in. We are now the reapers of that earlier Government’s folly, and paying a price. Where once we had full employment and no debt, we are now in debt … big time (climbing $27 million per day) and subject to the control of big business. Borrowing millions per week to stay afloat? Our grandparents must be turning in their graves. That was the unfortunate ‘NZ Experiment’ that sold us down the river, and with our assets now going … going … gone, we no longer enjoy the sovereignty we once had. They sold off our family silver as it were under the fancy name of ‘privatization’. (A new term, note, that gives a professional air and shifts the focus off what is really happening). We were told it was to pay our national debt but we are now more in debt than ever … it clearly hasn’t worked. Our country is now a corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and our government departments likewise. There is your clue. Corporations have one bottom line: PROFITS.

As an early NZ settler of colonial times stated:

The whole and entire object of everyone here is making money, the big fishes eating the little ones (‘The Rich List’, G Hunt p 29)

So ‘filthy lucre’ if you like was uppermost back then as well … the driving motive for expansion to other shores was not as we’ve been led to believe … to bring civilization and Christianity … these were merely by-products.

With this corporatisation everything began to operate on a business model, and instead of people with related background experience matching the kind of government department they served, we saw people appointed with purely business skills.  Their focus became figures and profitability, not people, so social service and health departments were required to predict their costs in advance based on historical data. Quite a feat when dealing for instance with child abuse.  Government departments were subjected to restructuring (the new catch word given to the changes … known also in other countries by other names like ‘structural adjustment’) and told it was so they could all work smarter. In fact, where I worked at the time, I likened it to musical chairs. When the music stopped there were less bums on seats in the office. And the music kept playing, and the seats kept disappearing. The folks on the ground inherited more work from their now absent colleagues, and the CEOs inherited fatter salaries to ensure (I suspect) the new status quo remained. It was a classic case of smoke and mirrors and happened across the board. Friends of mine in other professions complained of being buried in mountains of new paper requirements, the face of their jobs completely changing, and leaving less time for people.

So now we see evidence of this business model everywhere, with their whole raison d’etre being profits, while the memory of a caring welfare state is becoming more and more elusive by the year. In rural communities it still sticks out like a sore toe because it clashes with their longtime ethic of community and caring.

On that note, as you ponder on the origins of our (and many other countries’) demise into the debt abyss … grasp an overview of the root cause of these problems in ‘The Biggest Bank Heist Ever’. It is all about making money, the big fishes eating the little fishes. Remember, it is a mythical illusion that all can succeed under capitalism. Wakefield himself of the NZ Company openly stated that they would keep the price of land high enough so that not all could own any (1).

Video Description

Video info: “The award winning documentary ‘Inside Job’ [2011 | US] by the veteran crusader, Charles Ferguson is the most insightful and illuminating amongst a number of such attempts that deal with the global financial crisis, which is wrecking lives and economies across the world to this day.

The reason is that it successfully challenges the myths and lies surrounding the root causes of the crisis and tells us exactly how and why it happened, in a simple and straightforward way that anyone can understand.

IsuruFoundation® highly recommends this great film to anyone who wants to know why we the public are paying with our lives for the treacherous shenanigans of the filthy rich and the powerful.”

Government Documents Link Global Warming to Advanced Military Climate Modification Technology

This very informative, straight to the point, 7 minute video is from Harold Saive on Youtube.  A must watch if you are skeptical about geoengineering aka chemtrails.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhRk2Wp92TY

Harold explains on his channel that the term ‘chemtrails’ came originally from the USAF Academy (download it at the link) 1990 in the title of a chemistry course … and consistent with what we now know as weather modification systems sold to the public as ‘climate change’ or ‘global warming’. Chemtrails are also defined in the US Space Preservation Act as an ‘exotic weapons system’ …

(B) Such terms include exotic weapons systems such as–
(i) electronic, psychotronic, or information weapons;
(ii) chemtrails;  (Source: https://www.congress.gov/bill/107th-congress/house-bill/2977/text)

Chemtrails: photo captured here in the Rangitikei

Check out the page on Geoengineering for further information and useful links. This is a covert practice that is being denied by all governments yet is happening in plain sight, even here in NZ. It is planet wide.

Folks generally don’t want to know this is happening … however the evidence is there. It is very well documented. I see it almost daily where I live.  And the substances being sprayed on us are affecting our health. Take the time to research it. You will be (unpleasantly) surprized.

The NZ man who ‘came back from the dead’

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
Hippocrates

Featuring here, another success story in the health and wellness section. With all the bad news that’s about, we can all do with some good news.

Firstly though, to back up a little, and many of you will identify I’m sure, having seen dear friends and loved ones receive the awful news they have a terminal illness, and seen them pass on after a long struggle, I’m determined to highlight the many stories I’ve heard lately of folks who came through their dark valley with success, giving new hope for others. People who were sent home to plan their funerals, now living full lives again, back working and caring for their families.

“My journey and eventual remission in October 2013 has provided me with a new sense of purpose and appreciation of life. I hope my experiences can inspire and comfort those who are affected by cancer.” Anton Kuraia

I’ve featured on the site two wonderful success stories, one already shared, that of Anton Kuraia, the Northland Police Officer who was cured of cancer using IV Vitamin C. (Articles and videos at this link). Well here’s another story that also made headline news both in our own country NZ,  and world wide, that of Waikato farmer, Allan Smith.

Allan had been on life support for three weeks with swine flu and other complications. His Doctors had advised the family they wanted to terminate his life support, however this family wasn’t going to give up that easily! Allan, through the persistence of his family received IV Vitamin C also and is now a walking testimony of the success of that treatment. His amazing and inspiring story with links to both media coverage and Allan’s website are here. A full article by Health Impact News can be found here.

Do keep an eye on this section as I add further information, stories and interviews with health professionals, MDs and Oncologists who have had both extensive experience in their respective fields, and seen amazing recoveries from life threatening illness.

It is my aim, not to treat you (for I am not qualified), or to offer advice,  rather it is to inspire you with information from both professionals in their fields, and with stories from people like Anton and Allan who fought life threatening illnesses and survived. There are many, both abroad and in NZ.  People whose persistence paid off. Should you also wish to pursue the Vitamin C option (or any other options you learn about in your research) search online for Medical Doctors in your country and region who will administer them. Both Allan’s and Anton’s website have valuable information also about their own respective  journeys.

How wind turbines can affect your health – from the Council of Canadian Academies

Very relevant to the Rangitikei with Project Central Wind … to read more that project go here. For further links to articles go to ‘categories’ on the main page or check out  the Health Effects of Wind Turbines page.

RECENT RESEARCH:

Expert Panel finds that annoyance can be caused by wind turbine noise — a clear adverse health effect

Ottawa (April 9, 2015) – A new expert panel report, Understanding the Evidence: Wind Turbine Noise, released today by the Council of Canadian Academies provides an in-depth examination of 32 potential adverse health effects linked to wind turbine noise….

The Panel’s report stresses that, given the nature of the sound produced by wind turbines and the limited quality of available evidence, the health impacts of wind turbine noise cannot be comprehensively assessed and further information and study are required.

The Panel outlined 11 main findings discussed in the full report. Some findings include:

1. The evidence is sufficient to establish a causal relationship between exposure to wind turbine noise and annoyance.

2. There is limited evidence to establish a causal relationship between exposure to wind turbine noise and sleep disturbance.

3. The evidence suggests a lack of causality between exposure to wind turbine noise and hearing loss.

4. For all other health effects considered (fatigue, tinnitus, vertigo, nausea, dizziness, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, etc.), the evidence was inadequate to come to any conclusion about the presence or absence of a causal relationship with exposure to wind turbine noise.

5. Technological development is unlikely to resolve, in the short term, the current issues related to perceived adverse health effects of wind turbine noise.

6. Impact assessments and community engagement provide communities with greater knowledge and control over wind energy projects and therefore help limit annoyance.

Are councils in bed with Agrichemical companies? They cite grossly inaccurate figures in their defense

Are councils in bed with Agrichemical companies? Both the Auckland & Rangitikei District Council are favouring chemical weed control over non-chemical, in spite of the heightened health risks highlighted recently by WHO. They cite outdated & incorrect data to support this preference.

Some Aucklanders are currently objecting to a flip flop on their Council’s current weed management policies. A petition has been circulating (and is on FB also  if you would like to sign it) calling (like the Rangitikei) for a ban on the use of glyphosate on Auckland’s streets and parks. Some parts of Auckland are chemical free in terms of weed management however not all, and council is doing a u turn on their current policy of minimal chemical use, indicating in their Ten Year Plan a preference for chemical control.

Copy of Copy of Dec 2014 041
Public areas are sprayed without any warning before, during or after the fact

Auckland’s Weed Management Advisory (a Community-led organization that helped create the Council’s Weed Management Policy 2013 of minimum agrichemical use, which the Council seems intent on doing away with) are also calling for a BAN on Glyphosate and have put a leaked briefing document up on their website. You can read it here. This is the Long Term Plan featuring quotes for alternative methods of weed management as opposed to management with glyphosate, typically, Roundup. Georgina Blackmore, the petition organizer, states that the figures cited should be taken with a pinch of salt … in fact a very large amount of salt. They are using she says, old, inaccurate and misleading information. “Disingenuous” says Auckland councilor John Watson. The Weed Management Advisory has accused the Auckland Council of putting the public at risk. Read their press statement here.

This line is a very familiar tale. Our own Rangitikei District Council cited inaccurate figures when justifying their rejection of glyphosate-free weed management in our public spaces. We had tried to counter this outcome by citing Auckland contractors who are currently employing mechanical weed control methods. The latter stated emphatically that their costs were a marginal 10-15 percent more than Roundup, and expected soon to even match it. Similarly, with the current Auckland scenario cited here, other Auckland contractors are saying their costs are even less than glyphosate.

When the request for tighter parameters and controls around glyphosate spraying was originally put to the RDC, citing the extensive independent research available on the myriad health risks associated with Roundup use,  an internal report was requested by RDC on alternative cost-effective weed-control methods.  Councilor Lyn Sheridan asked why health effects were not investigated by RDC and the response by CEO Ross McNeill was, ‘…they weren’t asked for’. They are missing the point here.

We need to be asking, why are Councils so bent on, so adamant, about choosing chemical control, and with a chemical that has recently been re-classified by WHO as a Class 2A carcinogen?  Claiming there is insufficient proof of health risks is myopic at best.

Currently, as of 2011, one in three New Zealanders will contract cancer

That statistic is extremely high and surely deserving of closer examination of the research into environmental causes and the elimination of the probable ones?

Walkways and adjacent herbage where both school children & general public regularly walk is sprayed heavily with Roundup/glyphosate

The thing about Roundup is (and you will hear this in the audio link below) we the public are given no warning in advance of spraying, no signs are put out when they are spraying (so people can walk on it before it’s dry without even knowing) it is sprayed on public walkways where school children walk with no prior warning and it is sometimes sprayed on windy days.

Auckland Council Accused of Putting Public at Risk

Auckland Council Accused of Putting Public at Risk

“A complete ban on the spraying of glyphosate, also known as Roundup, on all public land in Auckland is called for after a New Zealand toxicologist confirms heightened risks of the chemical. Leaked documents show Auckland Council trivialising the serious health risk…..”  http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/AK1507/S00578/auckland-council-accused-of-putting-public-at-risk.htm

“In an interview I gave on bFM this week about our campaign to ban the use of Glyphosate on Auckland Roads and Parks, Councillor John Watson and expert of Toxicology Professor Ian Shaw both agreed that we need to be seriously looking at what alternatives we have to spraying Glyphosate…” Read at SOURCE:  https://www.facebook.com/BanGlyphosate/posts/417049618496545

Sodium Bicarbonate – works miracles

Sodium Bicarbonate Can Heal Cancer

Sodium bicarbonate is probably one of the most useful substances in the world; no wonder the pharmaceutical companies don’t want doctors or anyone else to know much about it. It is essential when treating cancer, kidney and other diseases.

We do not have to fear bicarbonate intake. And in fact, people who live in areas of the world with high amounts of bicarbonate in their drinking waters have a striking decreased mortality rate and a decreased prevalence of disease. Sodium bicarbonate, though often used as a medicine, is unlike pharmaceutical compounds. It is a natural non-toxic substance that does not require clinical trials for an assessment of toxicity. Spring waters contain bicarbonate ions which are coupled mainly with sodium, potassium, calcium or magnesium ions.

A deficiency of bicarbonate ions in the body contributes to a range of chronic diseases and medical conditions.Sodium bicarbonate helps…
