John Lodge, the bass guitarist and one of the primary singers and songwriters for the Moody Blues, is recuperating from what is described as a “serious medical issue” during the Christmas holiday. A January 11, 2024, post on hisFacebook page noted he is “already well on the mend.” However, the unidentified health issue has forced the postponement of his “Performs Days of Future Passed” U.S. tour that was planned for February and March.

Pope Francis announced at a seminar this week that he was diagnosed with “very acute infectious bronchitis.”
The pontiff made the announcement at the Vatican’s “Ethics in Health Management” seminar on Thursday, joking to the audience, “As you can see, I am alive.”
“Thank God it wasn’t pneumonia. It is a very acute, infectious bronchitis. I do not have a fever anymore, but am still on antibiotics and such,” Pope Francis told the health care professionals in attendance.

Mark Sheppard, best known as “Crowley” on Supernatural, revealed on Instagram Saturday that he somehow survived six heart attacks.
“You’re not going to believe this! Was on my way to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in my kitchen,” Sheppard began. The 59-year-old actor wrote that he had “six massive heart attacks” and was “brought back from [the] dead 4 times,” before learning that he “had a 100% blockage in my LAD” (left anterior descending artery.)”

NBC News correspondent Antonia Hylton is sharing for the first time that she was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, a neuroendocrine tumor.
As a journalist on the road, Hylton, 30, was used to waking up feeling out of sorts. But, about two years ago, she started having constant stomach issues.
Hylton tells TODAY.com that she recalls not being able to have a bowel movement for days, and when she finally was able to, “the pendulum swung in the other direction, almost like I couldn’t leave the bathroom.”
Knowing that Black people have the highest rate of colon cancer in the U.S. and that she has a family history of colon cancer, Hylton said, “I went to see a specialist who sent me for a colonoscopy.”

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was rushed to a hospital in Mexico City after he reported “feeling strange” during the delivery of a speech, Mexican media outlets reported.
Mr Wozniak, who exited from Apple in 1985, was hospitalised possibly due to a stroke, Mexico’s Reforma newspaper said.

Tiny Pretty Things star Barton Cowperthwaite has been diagnosed with stage 2 brain cancer.
The 31-year-old actor and ballet dancer revealed on Instagram that he had been diagnosed with “at least a stage 2 glioma” but noted that the “fairly decent-sized brain tumor” has not spread to anywhere else in his body.

Police veteran Jon Wedger explains in this in-depth interview the conspiracy of cover-ups that come from the top when the names of prominent people are discovered. He says that care homes, residential homes for children who have been separated from their families, were the source of sexual abuse and rape, and led to prostitution, drug abuse and other crimes. He was removed from a number of positions after uncovering child sex abuse, because police in top positions are complicit or covering up for politicians, celebrities and other powerful people.
He was warned by the chief superintendent that child prostitution ran so deep with people who were connected that, if he continued to pursue the issue, he would lose his job, his house, and his children. After Wedger blew the whistle on police cover-ups, he was bullied and threatened.
Wedger investigated the child-protection industry and discovered the lucrative business of privately run care homes that can pay owners over $2,500 per child per week. He says the abuse and prostitution in the care homes is an organized-crime operation involving high-ranking police and politicians. Wedger says the kids are being picked up from the care homes, abused, and then returned after the weekend. 80% of trafficking is within the family or those who have been given parental authority over the children. Sexual assault on children happens in all racial groups. All religious institutions have a problem with pedophilia but are protected by law enforcement. There is only a 2% prosecution rate on child prostitution.
Currently, Wedger works with victims of abuse, campaigns for police whistleblowers and helps victims put cases back together after police cover them up. Victims have identified Edward (Ted) Heath, Britain’s Prime Minister from 1970 to 1974, as a sexual abuser of young boys from care homes, showing that abusers can reach the loftiest positions, in spite of (or perhaps because of) their crimes.
