The Riots: What is really happening in Europe ?

Viewer comment: ” “These demonstators” are not FROM France. Yes. These are part of the wrecking ball. That is the big problem; when the people do rise it is quite difficult to tell who’s who and that’s how they do it. Confusion. Although you can pick them out; they are the same ones over here who dress the part. They’re being bank rolled.“

-French towns will be put under curfews after two days of nationwide rioting and looting left the country in shock. Demonstrations began over the cost-of-living crisis, education standards and President Emmanuel Macron’s government but they quickly devolved into anarchy over the weekend. Footage shows black-clad men stealing motorbikes and driving away on the vehicles while mask-wearing looters were seen lugging large boxes of televisions away from shops. Now, France’s prime minister Sébastien Lecornu has called on local authorities to implement ‘a number of partial curfews starting this evening’ as chaos continues to unfold in France. ‘We have a very localised mess in urban centres. They will be partial, they may be very localised,’ he added. He said that if declaring a state of emergency was deemed necessary ‘we could do so’, but added that at this stage partial curfews seemed ‘more appropriate’. The angry protests that have convulsed Spain and France in recent weeks have spilled over to Italy and Portugal, with rioters clashing with police and setting property on fire in Milan, and a tent encampment springing up in Lisbon over the weekend. A march in central Milan on Saturday to protest against rising living costs began peacefully but ended with masked rioters throwing stones, paving blocks and other objects at riot police and setting fire to barricades made from bar tables. Police used water cannon and teargas to disperse the crowds. At least two police officers were injured and about 50 demonstrators, including many minors, were detained, the LaPresse news agency reported. Italy’s prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, said that while demonstrating was a right, “setting our cities ablaze is not”. In a social media post, she said “hooligans” had exploited the protests “to sow chaos, attack those responsible for ensuring security and to hold entire cities hostage”. Milan’s centre-left mayor, Giuseppe Sala, said that while “the reasons for the protests were understandable, the violence against law enforcement and serious damage to the city are not justifiable”. In Lisbon, a tent camp reminiscent of the one established in Madrid three weeks ago was set up by protesters demanding action to tackle the housing crisis and living costs. These are REAL Issues that regular people can relate to. And that makes this extremely trappy. Who is behind the organizing at the top? Is it the same old minions?
