  1. This crime was revealed several years ago, where Samsung and a couple of other manufactors was exposed. (Probably inspired by the Microsoft XBox Kinect home spying system scandal.) No legal actions and guess why … Easy fix though, do not connect such kind of equipment to the Internet!

(Did not bother to view the above video clip …)

At home, I have a “smart” units, a tv and a receiver. I have never connected them to the Internet, as I didn’t see the point why, despite being a tech nerd … (NetFlix don’t interest me and the internal web browsers are slow and incompetent …) I have been thinking of surgically remove the NetFlix buttons on respectively remote controller, as these buttons are located very close to useful ones and are easily pressed by accident. If so, it takes minutes before the unit of concern realise there’s no Internet available and meanwhile, nothing works on the remote. The only way to stop it earlier, is to pulling the power cord …

    1. When you said  ..”been thinking of surgically removing the NetFlix buttons” I cracked up. Thoughtful use of tech, however if you didn’t watch the clip, I put another below that might raise your eyebrows. This things operating just by being in your home. It doesn’t need to be plugged in nor given permission. the techs moved on.

I haven’t had a tv since they went digital but have had computers instead. Which one’s worse? I ask myself. I haven’t ever had a smart phone either, after many years of working in telecommunications/marketing. Tech overdrive for a lot of years causing sensitivity.

I moved into a valley in the boonies to avoid the worst of the radiation fields. It followed me with the advent of technologies like starlink & grid systems like the IOT.

Sci-fi world is here and it is operating on data they have been stealing from us as long as I can remember.

      1. I’m well aware that there are several things at home with “features”, that doesn’t belong in a housebroken world. As I’m often being out walking in the forests around here, I use a pulse monitor and have been looking for something to use on my wrist*, but all decent ones require online connection, when handling them. It makes no sense …

I use my [55″] tv mostly for photo stuff and occasionally for some Bluray or DVD movies.

*’Wrist’ is a word that originate from Old Norse and we are still using it in Scandinavia (‘vrist’), but it refer to its original locations on the body – the ankles …
