“Govt accused of running get-rich-quick scheme after National reveals motels being paid millions for emergency accommodation”
And the Nats can’t talk … Key hocked off a large chunk of our state homes to property developers … paid for by our forbears. And Labour’s so far sold off $30 mill worth. As we speak councils NZ wide are hocking off the pensioner housing at fire sale prices. Nats & Labour, same bird, different wings. All in sync with Agenda 21/30. Who listens to their constant banter, maintaining the illusion they are in opposition? And last count we were at some 42K homeless here. During Key’s time, 43K. While treasonous Roger Douglas enjoys his knighthood in luxury. Hailed as a success & rewarded by the very system that is driving the corporate takeover of the wealth of once sovereign nations. EWR
From mainstream’s newshub
“National has accused the Government of running a get-rich-quick scheme for motel owners, some of whom have been earning millions for operating as emergency accommodation.
The party’s housing spokesperson Nicola Willis revealed since Labour came into office:
One emergency housing supplier has earned $14.7 million
One motel has earned $10.5 million
10 motels have earned more than $5 million
128 emergency housing suppliers have earned more than $1 million
Willis said significant expenditure is the result of policy failure.
“We have community housing providers up and down New Zealand who are ready to provide better housing options and better support to people in need, but instead, this Government thinks it is enough to write a big cheque to a motel.”

“Is the real Klaus Schwab a kindly old uncle figure wishing to do good for humanity, or is he really the son of a Nazi collaborator who used slave labour and aided Nazi efforts to obtain the first atomic bomb? Johnny Vedmore investigates…
On the morning of 11 September 2001, Klaus Schwab sat having breakfast in the Park East Synagogue in New York City with Rabbi Arthur Schneier, former Vice President for the World Jewish Congress and closely associate of the Bronfman and Lauder families. Together, the two men watched one of the most impactful events of the next twenty years unfold as planes struck the World Trade Center buildings. Now, two decades on, Klaus Schwab again sits in a front row seat of yet a generation-defining moment in modern human history.
Always seeming to have a front row seat when tragedy approaches, Schwab’s proximity to world-altering events likely owes to his being one of the most well-connected men on Earth. As the driving force behind the World Economic Forum, “the international organization for public-private cooperation,” Schwab has courted heads of state, leading business executives, and the elite of academic and scientific circles into the Davos fold for over 50 years. More recently, he has also courted the ire of many due to his more recent role as the frontman of the Great Reset, a sweeping effort to remake civilization globally for the express benefit of the elite of the World Economic Forum and their allies.”
It’s difficult to be positive about the obscene salaries these people receive. Especially in light of Rogernomics & the Neo-lib disaster that destroyed so many people. And continues to do so. Great idea for those at the top, not so for those at the bottom. Of course it was a scam & in my opinion never intended to benefit everybody. We can see who it is benefiting right in plain sight here.
From the NZ Herald
Chief executives at New Zealand’s biggest companies got a 2.2 per cent pay rise last year, taking their average earnings to $1,755,352 in the 2017 financial year.
It was the second-smallest increase in the 13-year history of the Business Herald’s CEO pay survey.
The survey covers the top 50 companies listed on the sharemarket, with the exception of some property firms whose management structure makes it difficult to calculate CEO pay, and the addition of Fonterra because of its size, and Herald publisher NZME, included in the interests of transparency.
Fifteen executives experienced earnings declines last year, compared with nine recorded in the previous year’s survey. The 2.2 per cent average increase was the lowest on record, apart from 2011, when average CEO pay fell by 0.4 per cent.
While CEO earnings increases were modest compared to some previous years, 38 of the 50 chief executives in the survey still received more than $1 million in remuneration, and their average was 55 times the median annual income Kiwis received in that year, recorded at $31,928, according to Statistics NZ.
The average CEO increase was in line with the 2.3 per cent rise Kiwis received last year.
Former Fonterra boss Theo Spierings was the highest-paid executive last year. Spierings, who stepped down last month, received $8.3m for the 2017 financial year, up from $4.66m he received a year earlier.

This is a real eye opener, especially if you were born after the nineties. I remember how it was as do all the other folk of my generation. Pre Rogernomics ripoff. And I heard/read recently a comment by Roger Douglas who conceded Rogernomics may not have been a good thing or words to that effect. (A woops in other words). I don’t buy that. He & others like him were well looked after following the ruination of our country. Travelling the world, educating others on their supposed ‘success’, teaching their policies of structural adjustment. Successfully ruined a lot of people & feathered their own nests would be more to the point. These people have no heart for those who suffer at their hands. Zilch.
Thought it timely for a reblog of this important article. Keeping up with the play I believe it may now be possible for the public to attend these meetings. Great news. You can find out the times, venue etc at the HDC website. (The article does refer to a protest etc which is obviously historic and the Deputy Mayor was rolled. Nevertheless the remainder of the content still remains pertinent for today).
“These business associates of the Mayor actually came to our table at Council the other night and addressed us and advised us to vote for the policies that would benefit them!” Cr Ross Campbell
Last July it was brought to our attention by the currently-being-rolled Deputy Mayor (then) Councilor Ross Campbell, that a certain group within the HDC called the Economic Development Committee, was actually functioning in an advisory capacity to the district’s ELECTED representatives, the HDC Councilors. That economic group is comprised of:
EIGHT NON-ELECTED members of the business community … developers, retailers, manufacturers, contractors… and TWO ELECTED COUNCILORS, who in turn are advising ELECTED COUNCILORS how they should vote.
The Economic Development Committee is privy to information that the public isn’t
These people are privy to information that the public isn’t. Now this is not right, to have information that puts you at an advantage over your competitors…
These two families, the Rothschilds and Rockefellers, hang in the background and manipulate from behind the scenes. We’ve known (some of us at least) that they have also fomented wars for profit for eons, all about garnering profits for their own empire/s, and at the expense of all of us. Young lives lost in their profiteering wars, sent off, as were my father and four uncles, as pure cannon fodder as it were. And all the while these men, cherished and held dear by their loved ones at home, either died in combat, or came home traumatized forever, thinking it was for ‘King and country’.
All the while it was for these two evil families’ bank accounts. The story is so ‘out there’ it’s close to unbelievable. A morning’s research however will tell you it’s all quite true, it’s just that the information has been purposely kept from you … by those who also control and manipulate the media. So here we have an admirable advocate for you, turning the spotlight he was given, off of himself and onto these two murdering entities and making the most of the opportunity to give you a big hint about who is still manipulating world events….

Jean-Claude Van Damme calls out Rothschild and Rockefeller on live TV
Van Damme was invited on the French show to speak about the US elections and commented on Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Vladimir Putin.
However, he quickly hijacked the narrative and went on to explain how the Rothschild and Rockefeller families control the politicians and run the world from behind the scenes…
thefreethoughtproject.com Matt Agorist
After opening a trust company in Reno, Nev., Rothschild & Co. began ushering the massive fortunes of the world’s most wealthy individuals out of typical tax havens, and into the Rothschild run U.S. trusts, which are exempt from the international reporting requirements.
The Rothschild banking dynasty is a family line that has been accused of pulling the political strings of many different governments through their control of various economic systems throughout the world.
Historically, there is ample evidence to show that the family has used insider trading to bilk money from both private and public funds.
During the Battle of Waterloo in the Napoleonic wars, Nathan Rothschild was responsible for one of the oldest cases of “insider trading,” which led to the Rothschild family robbing a whole nation blind. In 1815 when the battle of Waterloo took place, there were no quick methods of communication like we have today so messengers were used for communication in times of war. The Rothschild’s took advantage of this by having spies on the frontlines of the battle who would return information to the family faster than the messengers used by the military…

From the Daily Blog in NZ, a thought provoking look at the world of economics where policy fallout on human populations is of no particular importance. Discussing also the incentives (are there any?) for mothers to leave their babies in day care and take up paid employment. Many are apparently worse off for working full time.
Capitalism is not about free competitive choices among people who are reasonably equal in their buying and selling of economic power, it is about concentrating capital, concentrating economic power in very few hands using that power to trash everyone who gets in their way. (David Korten)
Economists after economist pontificated on whether interest rates and exchange rates are going up or down and why and the virtues of quantitative easing that didn’t happen soon enough, apparently, except in the US. Never a mention of fiscal policy, except the bad effects of increase in GST in Japan…
…of course, there was no mention by the economists of high rates of poverty, , casualisation, low pay and uncertain hours, rampant speculative activity in real estate and growing inequality, even though the IMF and the OECD are regularly warning of the dangers…
When the inevitable downturn produces higher unemployment, more foodbank demand, foreclosures and widespread mental illness, who asks or cares whether the economic system works for low and middle income people and their children?”
Oct 19, 2014 Bernard Hickey from the NZ Herald writes here on the ‘unseen risks of a fiscal haircut’. Most New Zealanders are not aware of the Open Bank Resolution….
Do you think the money you have in a bank term deposit is Government guaranteed? If so, you’re wrong, but you’re not alone.
A survey for the Financial Markets Authority by Colmar Brunton and published during Money Week found 52 per cent believed the money in a bank term deposit was guaranteed.
To be fair, during the global financial crisis, these deposits were guaranteed, from October 2008 to December 2011. Banks paid for the privilege, but that scheme is over now. So what would happen if a bank fell over? Would the taxpayers of New Zealand make sure you got all your money back?
