Thirty-five deaths in the infamous Lynmouth flood disaster came only days after RAF rain-making experiments over southern England, it has emerged.

Ninety million tonnes of water swept down the narrow valley into Lynmouth on 15 August, 1952, destroying whole buildings.

Now, a BBC investigation has confirmed that secret experiments were causing heavy rainfall.

Classified documents on the trials have gone missing, but people involved have told their story for the BBC Radio Four’s Document programme.

  1. Hello Pam, I hope this reaches you in the best of things amongst all of this arranged madness! You sent a post regarding a flood in 1952 in England. And yet there was one also a year later on the east coast and I think on the South coast at the same time. I found out about 10 years ago that they were fabricated with tech also.  My own Father was affected by it and told about his rescue when he was home from sea! Looks like a few others! Photo galleries from the archives: How the floods of 1953, 1978 and 2007 affected the region

I don’t usually live here (and haven’t for 4 decades) but got stuck earlier this year to simply attend a family funeral.  Anwya, I don’t know if you will see this, so shall not elaborate about the flood and other things.  Fanx always for your efforts which are a nice breath of fresh air regarding REAL news! NOT “snews” ; ) – All the best Al ; )

    1. Great to hear from you Al. I do see your lil comments from time to time. If ever you need a response keep trying &/or use the contact form. Interesting what you say. I searched high & low for this link actually, knew it was somewhere thanks to Clare she had it. I can see vertical lines in your comment. Are they links I wonder? I can’t see any links. If they were you can send them on the contact page. Or rewrite them using the word ‘dot’ instead of the full stops. Should fix it. I’m very keen if you do have links. Hard to find things now. And thanks for the feedback. Always great to hear..as you say amidst the arranged madness. Take care 🙂
