One thing that central banks do, as when they create fiat money like the US “Federal Reserve” does, is make the waging of war profitable for themselves and also to mask the true cost of wars to the taxpayers. As Ron Paul points out, a country with sound money would not easily engage in wars as it would be too expensive for them to do so. Consider: would citizens be so quick to engage in a war if they were truthfully informed that they would have to endure higher taxes for the next 25 years to pay for the war? This phoney fiat money and the monstrous national debts owed to the bankers are caused by the central banks.
